Nollywood delectable actresses, Toyin Abraham and Mercy Johnson who are obviously not in communication with each other after an Instagram fight have remained silent on the circumstances leading to their public fight on the internet.
With the two ladies being divorced,single, actresses, and having Edo state roots were one of the most amazing colleagues/friends in the entertainment industry, the fight was indeed a shock to many.
Upon the Instagram war, Toyin claimed that it was a publicity stunt but after a while, the altercation brought about a split in some actors taking sides(Yomi Fabiyi and Kemi Afolabi) which finally led to the two ladies unfollowing each other
However, when called to hear her side of the story, considering that she has been quiet over the rancour on social media, Mercy Aigbe sounding uninterested in the conversation said;
“Don’t mind the bloggers, there’s no problem between me and Toyin. It was a stunt by Toyin as famously explained by her. The bloggers only feasted on it to make business,”
Upon being asked her about ‘unfollowing’ each other on Instagram, she gave the most convenient answer saying;
“There is no truth in that either. That is easy to find out, you can check it yourself to confirm,”
However, when their IG pages were rechecked, it revealed that indeed the two truly ‘unfollowed’ each other as widely reported.
The drama started when Toyin Abraham took to Instagram and insinuated that Mercy Aigbe is often excited when colleagues have misunderstandings and is of the habit of fueling feuds silently while feigning ignorance.
Abraham reportedly stormed her page to call her an hypocrite after she posted a photo of Omoni Oboli’s books which she bought to give away to her fans.
Toyin Abraham added that Mercy Aigbe is fond of the attitude and always does that whenever her colleagues are having issues. She also pointed out that Mercy Aigbe contributed to the tragic end of her marriage.
Meanwhile,reports have it that Toyin outburst was when Toyin was not included in Omoni’s new movie, “Wives On Strike”.
Toyin played an important role in the first edition as (Iya Bola) in ‘Wives on strike the revolution’ and they all believed she still had a role to play in this new production.
Toyin is missing from the poster Omoni shared and her name was excluded on the cast listing.
In place of Toyin Abraham, Omoni used Mercy Aigbe who is making her debut in the movie.
Well, Toyin is not happy and has taken to Instagram to blast Mercy.
Nigerian Rap Star, Chibuzor Azubuike, AKA Phyno’s love life rarely flaunts women and unlike many of his colleagues who have baby mamas, nothing of such has been associated with him.
However, in a chat with Sunday Scoop, the rapper spoke about the type of lady he fancies. He said, “On the surface, I like a girl who is beautiful. But I cannot stand a lousy girl. I like someone who is industrious and can think for herself. For me, it is more about the person’s character and not the physical qualities; that can fade away at any time.”
On why not much has been heard about his love life, he said, “My love life is private to me and it shouldn’t be a topic for public discussion. As a celebrity, there are a few things about me that are not out there already, but I still strive to keep certain things private. I am not one to bare it all on social media.”
Explaining how he gets inspiration for his songs, Azubuike said, “The funny thing is that I get inspiration from a variety of things and places. I am basically inspired by everything around me.”

Nigerian music legend, Ras Kimono died today June 10th at the age of 60.
Ras Kimono, real name Ukeleke Onwubuya, was said to have concluded plans to travel to the United States last night, and he complained of feeling funny. He was rushed to a hospital in Ikeja, where he was later taken to Lagoon Hospital on the Island where he died.
Ras Kimono is a Nigerian reggae artist whose debut album Under Pressure, led by the single “Rum-Bar Stylée”, was a big hit in the Nigerian music scene in 1989.

President Muhammadu Buhari will on Sunday, June 10, embark on a two-day working visit to Morocco.
This was disclosed by the Senior Special Assistant to the President on Media and Publicity, Malam Garba Shehu, who said the president’s visit is about strengthening bilateral relations between the two countries particularly in the area of agriculture.
“The visit, which is at the invitation of His Royal Majesty, King Mohammed VI, will see the two leaders discuss socio-economic matters affecting their countries, following prior engagements in December 2016, during the official visit of His Majesty to Nigeria,” he stated.
“In Rabat, discussions will focus on strengthening existing agreements on the fertilizer industry, education cooperation, the Nigeria-Morocco Gas Pipeline project and establishing a basic chemical platform to harness Nigeria’s vast natural gas resources and support Morocco’s diammonium phosphate industry.
“It is noteworthy that following the signing of a collaboration agreement between Nigeria and Morocco in December 2016 to revive the abandoned Nigerian fertilizer blending plants, 14 plants have been revitalized so far under the Presidential Fertilizer Initiative (PFI); with a total capacity of 2.3 million MT of NPK fertilizers.
“The president will be accompanied on the trip by Governor Dave Umahi of Ebonyi State, Governor Abubakar Badaru of Jigawa State and other senior government officials.”
Liverpool winger, Mohamed Salah, has laughed off claims from Real Madrid captain, Sergio Ramos, that he could have played through the pain barrier in the Champions League final.

One noticeable feature of popular Nollywood actor, Afeez Abiodun popularly known as Afeez Owo are the tribal marks on his face. While some might argue that he would have been more handsome without them, the actor begs to differ as he told Saturday Beats that he had to face reality and accept what his parents created on his face.
He opened up that initially as a young boy, he disliked the marks and went to the extent of using sandpaper to get rid of them all to no avail simply because he was always taunted by bus conductors.
Owo added that he would never allow anyone inflict such scars on the face of his children.
“I am very comfortable with my tribal marks now and if anything ever wipes them off my face, I would feel bare or naked and my fans would not recognise me. While I was growing up in Surulere, there were a lot of times I was teased by people because of my tribal marks. They abused me so much but I did not care; today my tribal mark is my trademark. There was a time people teased me so much that I attempted to use sandpaper to wipe them off especially when bus conductors insulted me about it. They always picked on me and called me various names but I thank God for who I am today. I am also glad I did not get rid of the tribal marks. There is no insult anyone can dish out to me over my tribal marks that would hurt my feelings. Although I like my tribal marks, I can never allow anyone to give my children tribal marks,” he said.
The thespian went down memory lane with Saturday Beats as he spoke about how his parents did not support his career and he had to sponsor his education when he was in primary school.
“When I started my acting career, it was rough and tough. The first challenge I faced was from my parents who felt I did not know what I was doing with my life. I lived with them in Oyo State and they felt that I ought to go to school to study. They weren’t pleased with me, so they backed off and I had to finance my education from Primary 5 till I got to Form 5. When I got to Lagos, I had to fend for myself as well. I got a little place on Randle Avenue, Surulere and whenever I was going for rehearsals, I trekked from my house in Surulere to Saka Tinubu, Victoria Island. I never knew that I would become someone in life. I just went with hope and I had it in mind that if I passed out while trekking either to the venue or back home, then so be it. Vice President Yemi Osinbajo and Governor Abiola Ajimobi of Oyo state on Friday declined comments after a meeting held behind closed doors at the Oyo State Governor’s Office, Agodi secretariat, Ibadan.
GISTMANIA reports that Osinbajo, who arrived the governor’s office at about 3.30pm in company of the state Commissioner of Police, Mr Abiodun Odude and the State Director of State Services, Mr Abdullahi Kure declined to speak with journalists after the meeting.
His host, Ajimobi also declined comments.

Philanthropist Kokun has reacted to the backlash that followed his rant after President Buhari’s round table dinner with some selected entertainers and youth ambassadors including Nigeria.
Kokun who felt the government had misplaced it’s priority by more inviting people like him voiced out his rant moments after the photos went viral online. His rants however displeased some Nigerians who asked him if he was doing his charity work to be called for a dinner party.
Defending himself, Kokun has said he never complained about not being invited, according to him, he is too busy to go wine and dine with Buhari and wouldn’t have gone if invited.

A newborn baby is currently recuperating in the Agua Boa Regional Hospital, Canarana, Brazil after she was pulled out alive after being buried for eight hours, Gistmania reports.
The baby’s mother, a 15-year old, had gone into labour around midday while in the bathroom. She said her contractions started and the baby arrived quickly, falling onto the bathroom floor and suffering two cranial fractures.
The teen mother’s grandmother, 57-year old Kutz Amin said when the baby failed to cry after being born, she decided to follow their tradition, wrap her in a cloth and buried her. Amin said the baby “showed no signs of life”.
Salvation came for the baby following an anonymous tip received by the police about a death that has not been reported. The police visited the house and officers were digging the shallow grave she was buried in when they heard a faint cry.
Officers pulled the child out, still attached to her umbilical cord, gently, and took her to the hospital where doctors say she’s making progress.
Speaking on the incident, Canarana’s military police chief, João Paulo Bezerra do Nascimento said:
The child was buried around 2pm but we were only called to investigate the incident late that night. This was worrying because it was many hours after the event.
By the time we arrived we never expected to find the child alive.
What shocked me most was how the little girl survived under the earth for as long as eight hours. It’s nothing short of a miracle.
We were digging out the hole when we suddenly heard a small cry underground and realised she was alive. It was a thrilling and unforgettable moment.
Investigators say the baby’s great-grandmother has been arrested and is facing charges of attempted murder.
The teen mum was also questioned by police and hospitalised.

President Buhari has signed into law a bill that prevents a vice-president who completes a president’s tenure from contesting twice.
The senior special assistant to President Buhari on National Assembly matters, Ita Enang, disclosed this to newsmen in Abuja today June 8th.
The law also applies to a deputy governors who complete the tenure of a governor.
“I just want to inform you that His Excellency President Muhammadu Buhari today assented to the constitution fourth alteration Bill which grants financial authonomy and independence to the houses of assembly of the respective states and to the judiciary of the respective states,” he said.
“Therefore upon this signature the amounts standing to the credit of the judiciary are to be now be paid directly to the judiciary of those states, no more through the governors and no more from the governors.
And then the amounts standing to the credit of the houses of assembly of the respective states are now to be paid directly to the houses of assembly of that state for the benefit of the legislators and the management of the states house of assembly of that state. This grant full autonomy now to the Houses of Assembly and judiciary of states.
Another act which has come into force today is constitution amendment 21 which relates to the determination of pre-elections matters. It has reduced the date and time of determining pre-election matters to ensure that the pre-election matters in court do not get into the time of the elections and do not lend thereafter. The relevant section of the constitution has also been amended by this act, therefore amending the constitution.
The other one is bill 16 which is now an act. The intent of that Act is to ensure that where a vice-president succeeds the president and where a deputy governor succeeds a governor, he can no more contest for that office more than one more time. The effect is that having taken the oath of president once, he can only contest one more time and no more. That is the intent of this amendment.” he said
Ita explained that the law does not apply to ex-President Goodluck Jonathan as it takes effect from the period it was signed.

The police on Wednesday said they had not withdrawn their invitation to the President of the Senate, Bukola Saraki, over his alleged link with suspected robbers, who invaded banks in Offa on April 5, 2018.
The Force Public Relations Officer, Jimoh Moshood, who stated this in Abuja while parading two more suspects of the robberies, said Saraki must appear in person to defend himself.
The Senate President, had, on his Twitter handle on Monday morning, said he had yet to get any invitation from the police. He said he had informed his aide-de-camp to get the invitation from the police. Later on Monday, Saraki said he had received a letter from the police asking him to respond to the allegations in writing. However, in an interview with some pressmen on Wednesday, the police spokesman Jimoh Moshood denied that the Senate President was asked to send his written defence.
He insisted that investigators were still expecting the Senate President to report to the Force Intelligence Response Team office at Guzape, Abuja, to explain his links to the five gang leaders involved in the robberies. Moshood said, “The invitation was never withdrawn. I read to you (journalists) that the Senate President was being invited to come and answer to the allegations levelled against him by the five gang leaders here. We are expecting him in person. As I said earlier on, the Senate President, Senator Bukola Saraki, has a case to answer.”
Five persons have been reportedly shot dead in a renewed cult clash in Calabar, Cross River State capital.
The incident occurred in Calabar South local government area and Calabar Municipal local government area of the State.
The clash was between two rivalry cult groups, the Vikings and the Axe. The incident occurred on Sunday and in the early part of Monday.
An eyewitness, who gave his name as George Antai said that three suspected cultists were killed in Ekondo Street and Main Avenue Street in Calabar South.
He further said that two other suspected cultists were gunned down along Atekong drive and Marian Road in Calabar Municipal.
“The incident at Calabar South occurred on Sunday while a reprisal took place in the early hours of Monday,” he said.
When DAILY POST contacted the Police Public Relations Officer, Ms Irene Ugbo on phone, she confirmed the incident.
“Actually the clash between the two rivalry cult groups occurred and the police are on top of the situation. But only one person was recorded dead,” she stated.
