-Briefly tell us a bit about yourself. My name is Ayüü and i’m a singer/songwriter based in Abuja. I often say music is the last chance i have at achieving peace, happiness and success all at once. I feel blessed that i’ve even come this far.
-How did music all start for you? I guess my earliest influences were my older siblings but for the most part i thought i’d end up a sportsman. I’d do covers to my older sisters songs and sing in choir here and there but never anything serious.
I put out a record on soundcloud in 2016 called ‘In That Order’ and woke up to my first 1000 streams and a couple supporters which was very cool.
-At what point did you decide to go pro? I’d say in 2017 when i dropped my first EP - H.E.R. [His Emotions Recorded].
-How would you describe a good musician. Music opinions are subjective but i personally gravitate to soul whisperers. Musicians who tap into sounds and melodies that speak to my soul.
-Describe your pattern of music and what class of people would you say your songs are for? I believe i’m a sound and genre fusing genius. My music is almost always a combination of my different influences. In terms of class, i pray i make music for every and anyone… especially beautiful women.
-What inspires your style of music? There’s many styles to my music and my sources of inspiration can come from anywhere. I’m a huge rnb head though.
-How long does it take you to come up with a jam? It depends on how i’m feeling but it’s never more than a couple hours.
-How many singles have you got, any albums! 13 singles, 3 EP’s and 2 albums in !
-Tell us about your first experience on stage, any embarrassing experience? First time on stage in nigeria was pretty embarrassing but a lot of people don’t know this. It was a show in Abuja and i wasn’t prepared for how bad the sound was. I sounded like say no be sing the song.

Covid19 in Nigeria. Over the weekend, Friday to be precise. My neighbor’s son sustained a head injury while playing with his fellow kids and was rushed to the general hospital in my area here. The little boy wasn’t sick o. Just a head injury that happened in my presence while we were outside discussing. On Sunday, I went to check on the boy to see how he was doing, he was already playing with other kids though his head is still bandaged. I started talking with his mom and she told me what now seems to be the new trend as regards Covid19 in Nigeria. She showed me the receipt issued to her by the hospital. It was marked Covid19, case 353. I was surprised to see that. She said when she saw the receipt, she asked the nurse what was the meaning of that? That her son isn’t a Covid19 patient. The nurse told her not to worry, that it means nothing. That she was only doing what was required of her. So she shouldn’t worry. According to the woman, she was still worried seeing that on her receipt but the nurse further reassured her and told her that if she doesn’t do that, she could be issued a query. Wow! What this means is that, according to the receipt, the boy is case 353 treated and discharged. Can you imagine that?! That is possibly the new trend now at government hospitals. Once you’re sick and visits a government hospital, you’re a Covid19 patient. If she hadn’t shown me that receipt, I wouldn’t have believed what she told me yesterday. And you keep wondering why we can’t see common pictures of patients in the isolation centers. Common pictures o. All we see everyday are numbers upon numbers.

On 19th September 1996, during the regime of late General Sani Abacha's, in city of Owerri - Imo, an innocent 11-year-old boy named Anthony Ikechukwu Okoronkwo was murdered for Ritual.
The little boy was hawking boiled groundnuts, which was his daily routine.He strolled along, selling his groundnuts for peanuts to whoever wanted to buy. When he got to Amakohia area of Owerri, his eyes lit up with joy when a customer beckoned on him to approach. That ‘customer’ was named Innocent Ekeanyanwu, aged 32.
The boy was called into the famous Otokoto Hotel and the little groundnut seller was visibly very excited, since it was a hotel, it meant that the new ‘customer’ would probably be buying plenty groundnuts which will mean more money to take home to make his parents happy and assist his struggling family.
