A lady who seems to be itching close to her days as a spinster has sought the advice of people on what to do after she confessed about sleeping with her best friend’s husband.
According to the lady, her wedding comes up next month, but she is scared of the repercussions the amorous relationship she had with her friend’s husband may bring on her marriage.

She is therefore contemplating either confessing about the act or silently calling off the relationship as she would soon be a wife.

Sani said he would not eat for one day due to Maria’s eviction from the BBNaija show.

In a tweet, the socio-political activist stressed that Maria’s eviction was unfair.

According to Sani: “Evicting #Maria is unfair; I won’t eat for one day #BBNaijia6 #BBNajia.”

Maria was one of the housemates evicted from the reality television show on Sunday.

She was evicted alongside JMK and Sammie.

A Kwara State magistrate court sitting in Kaiama has sentenced a 28-year-old man, Abubakar Bani, to six months imprisonment for stealing tubers of yam.
Bani was arraigned by the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) Kwara State Command for stealing tubers of yam from farms in Tenebo village, Kaiama local government area of the state.
The Public Relations Officer of the corps in the state, Babawale Afolabi, said the suspect was caught on August 30, 2021, at about 6:00 a.m. by one Ismaila Ebbo Mohammed and his neighbours of Kibefandi compound, Kaiama.
“According to the complainants, the Fulani boy has been stealing their yams in the farm on a daily basis. The suspect, Abubakar, had confessed to having committed the crime and immediately the state commandant NSCDC Kwara State command, CC. Makinde Iskil Ayinla, gave the directive that he should be charged to court," he stated.
"Abubakar Bani has been charged to Kaiama Magistrate Court immediately, just as the suspect pleaded guilty to the crimes. He was therefore sentenced to six months imprisonment by Magistrate Yusuf Kide, for criminal trespass and theft at New Bussa Correctional Service, Niger State." the PPRO added.

The Oyo State House of Assembly has summoned the Surveyor-General and the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Lands and Urban Development in the state.

The Assembly on Monday urged the duo to appear before it over alleged land grabbing in some parts of Ibadan.

Our correspondent learnt that residents of Akinyele Local Government Area had alleged that some strangers have been going around to encroach on their lands.

The Assembly has asked the duo to answer some questions relating to the matter.

The invitation was sequel to a motion raised by Hon. Taofeek Kehinde representing Akinyele 2 State constituency.

The lawmaker noted that fear gripped inhabitants of Olosaoko, Alabata, Ajibade, Agbedo and Alase villages when they saw strangers parading themselves as government officials going about with various land measuring instruments in their areas.

“The inhabitants of the mentioned villages are predominantly farmers who have no other means of livelihood other than farm practices.

“This justifies the cry from the people about the suspicious move by the government to acquire their means of livelihood without prior notice.

“Acquisition or confiscation of property is usually through appropriate processes and procedures as provided by extant laws,” he said.

“Therefore, the government should communicate the people through the right channels on the proposed mission, it will benefit the people and of course the state.”

Majority leader of the House, Sanjo Adedoyin, in his contribution, added that the intention of the government is to expand the economy by attracting the dry port, railway and other major projects to the area.

“They should inform the people and hold meetings with community leaders and affected residents,” he added.

Speaker of the Assembly, Adebo Ogundoyin, while speaking noted that it is necessary for the Surveyor General and the Permanent Secretary to appear before the Assembly.

Mr Peter Aboki, the Deputy Provost, College of Agriculture, Science and Technology, Lafia, Nasarawa State, has dragged a former Commissioner for Agriculture and Water Resources, Mr Alanana Otaki, to an Upper Area Court, Lafia, for snatching his wife.

NAN reports that the embattled wife, Mrs Felicia Aboki, had also filed a case against her husband seeking dissolution of their 18 years marriage.

Mr Shikama Shyeltu, Counsel to Mr Aboki, while addressing the court on Monday prayed that the case brought by the wife be suspended pending the determination on the matter of her alleged extra marital relationship with the former commissioner.

On his part, Mr David Meshi, Counsel to the defendant, said his client was no longer interested in the 18-year-old marriage to the applicant, which was why she decided to seek divorce.

Mr Joseph Agbo, Counsel to the ex-commissioner, argued that his client did not have hands in the marriage crisis between Mr and Mrs Peter Aboki.

However, Mr Abubakar Lanze, the presiding judge, after listening to the parties involved adjourned the case to September 15 for hearing.

A suspected internet fraudster, simply identified as Clinton, has been stabbed to death by his friends after he allegedly made N50 million in Delta State.

The deceased’s death came after he celebrated his mother’s birthday in early August at Ovie Palace Road in Uvwie Local Government Area.

He was in HK, a building housing many internet fraudsters, with his friends when the bank alerted him around 3am on Friday. He was stabbed to death after he screamed for joy.

His assailants were accosted by vigilantes while they were trying to take Clinton’s body to his mother. They were however allowed through after bribing the vigilantes.

The killers succeeded in carrying and handing over the remains of the deceased to his mother, simply identified as Onome, who rushed him to the Central Hospital, Ekpan, where he was confirmed dead on arrival.

Immediately after the deceased was buried, his killers called his mother and informed him that they were on their way to Sokoto State to obtain money to organize a befitting burial for him.

The incident has thrown the Baptist Church in Okuokoko Community, where the deceased was a member of the Royal Ambassador, into mourning.

The Delta State Police Command, led by CP Ari Mohammed Ali, is yet to comment on the matter.

Joseph Ugbene, a 65-year-old man who is a native of Egede, in the Udi council area of Enugu State, has said he returned to school to acquire secondary education because his children laughed at him when he spoke English and mixed up his tenses, according to The PUNCH.

Ugbene, who said he dropped out of school after the Nigeria-Biafra Civil War that ended in 1970, stated this during the graduation of the Adult Education Programme, Egede, which marked the completion of his Junior Secondary School education on Sunday.

The farmer noted that his dream to acquire basic education was shattered by the civil war.

He said, “I was in class one in secondary school when the civil war broke out and after the war, things changed. I had no means of going back to school because my father died.

“So, that was why I said I needed adult education to complete my secondary education and continue. I am now a father of seven children and I trained all of them. They are all educated.

“You see, before I started this adult education programme, when I spoke English my children would laugh because of my tenses. That also motivated me to go back to school.

“So, I must climb that level and I am determined to acquire that education. It is helping me a lot now because I can buy drugs and administer to birds, courtesy of what I learnt in school.”

The Proprietor and Executive Director, Better Life for Rural Dwellers, Mrs Bibian Agada, commended Ugbene and eight other graduates for their desire to learn.

Agada disclosed that the adult education was set up in 2018 in response to the high level of illiteracy she observed among the people in Egede.

She said, “I wanted those who dropped out of school to complete their education free of charge.

“To achieve that, I bought all the recommended textbooks, exercise books and everything needed by the students and teachers, down to erasers and sharpeners. The initial response was great. Seventy-seven adults signed up for the programme.

“Some who thought that they would be paid to go to school were the first to drop out when all they got were books and materials for their study.

“Others dropped out because they were distracted at Ama-Ukwu on their way to school, which is why we are seeking accommodation away from the market square.

“Another set that dropped out were those who could not sustain the rigour of going to school while providing for their respective families. A lot of the younger ones who did not respond to the programme questioned the need for education when they could not get jobs with it.”

She appealed to residents who were not educated to take advantage of the programme and learn for free.

Bose Omolayo has won Nigeria’s second gold medal in powerlifting at the ongoing Paralympic Games in Tokyo, Japan.

Omotayo clinched the first position in the women’s 79kg category.

She also set a new world record after she lifted 141kg.

President Muhammadu Buhari has described the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, as thieves.

Buhari insisted that IPOB led by Nnamdi Kanu are thieves promoting terrorism.

The president argued that IPOB is not defending Christians in the Southeast.

In a statement by his mouthpiece, Garba Shehu, the president lamented the group’s attack on police stations and government facilities in the Southeast, NAN reports.

Buhari maintained that the Kanu-led group are not freedom fighters.

The statement reads partly: “Further afield in the South-East, IPOB are not struggling for freedom when they attack police stations and property, but rather committing acts of terrorism,” to steal money.

“IPOB is not defending Christians, as their highly paid foreign lobbyists claim when almost every citizen of those states they terrorize is uniformly Christian.”

The president also appealed to Nigerians to unite against, “those who seek to divide us for their own nefarious financial and political gain.”

The Taliban killed a popular Afghan folk singer just days after the group said it hoped to ban music from being played in public in Afghanistan, according to a former minister.

Fawad Andarabi was “brutally killed” on Saturday, said Masoud Andarabi, who was the Interior Minister under former Afghan President Ashraf Ghani, in a Twitter post.

He was reportedly dragged from his village home in Andarab, near the Panjshir Valley, before being shot dead, according to LBC News.
During an interview with The New York Times, published on Wednesday, a spokesman for the Taliban said that “music is forbidden in Islam.”

Zabihullah Mujahid, who is seen as a likely contender for the new government’s culture minister role, told the paper that the Taliban is hoping to “persuade people” not to perform music.

Under the previous period of rule, the Taliban banned all music, apart from some religious chants, according to The Guardian. Cassette tapes were destroyed, musical instruments were forbidden, and even captive songbirds were outlawed, the paper said.
