Forum / Relationships & Romance / Coping Mechanism For Quarantine: Do You Read Romance Novels? |
on: 27-03-2020 10:36 AM
| How are you coping with this forced quarantine?
Bored? Listless?
Well, I am coping by reading lots and lots of free novels.
I loved reading romance novels but for a while, I thought that I had outgrown it. I was reading mysteries, thrillers, fantasies, legal thrillers and some speculative fiction.
But these past few days I have found that I needed something to make me happy. I needed happy endings, love that lasts for a lifetime. You know, all those mushy stuff that delight and make me happy, so I started reading romance books again.
Ficool made this easy to do by giving free access to all their books (including all the juicy romance reads) for thirty days.
These are uncertain times and I am determined to be as happy as I can be. Reading takes my mind away from all these sad news and makes me laugh so I am using it to cope.
You should download Ficool on Google Play Store and do the same. Free reading and enjoyment, good news that takes away the blues.

Forum / Naijapals Base (Metro life) / COVID-19:Take Care of Your Mental Health, Read Free Books on Ficool |
on: 26-03-2020 12:47 PM
| A visit to the news-feed of your favourite social media platform will show you nothing but news about the COVID-19 pandemic ravaging the whole world with a relentless force akin to that of a heavy-weight champion defending his title. It is a deluge of sad news: new infections, lack of protective gear for medical workers, top politicians getting slammed, and the masses unable to buy food to stock up because there is poverty in the land. Right now, the internet, TV, radio, and newspapers are places that can easily suck out your joy and leave you in a well of depression. While it is good to be informed of the happenings around you, you should not forget that allowing yourself to absorb too much of negative news will not only affect your mood and mental health but soon creep into your physical health. Don’t be surprised if lethargy comes in or if your breathing becomes laboured due to panic attacks. While I strongly believe that the human race will survive COVID-19, I also know that we can keep our sanity while at it. Would you love to travel to different worlds and forget about the coronavirus? Maybe you want to see beautiful islands, visit ancient civilisations, or eavesdrop as an alpha-male declares his undying love to the woman who catches his heart? You can get to do this, free of charge, on Ficool. For the next thirty days, all books on Ficool can be read without you paying a cent! This includes the best of romance, mystery, historical, literary, and comic novels. You get to stay at home, stay in good mental and physical health and enjoy as many books as you want. You can download Ficool on Google Play Store and start reading immediately. No more buying of coins to access. What’s more, concise and well-prepared handbooks on COVID-19 are available on Ficool. Use this to sensitize family and friends on how to stay safe in this period. We love you and are committed to your well-being. #Ficoolcares #staysafe | | |

In the wake of a world-wide pandemic— the novel COVID-19, confusion and panic has laved the world and thrust humanity into a state of limbo. Governments have taken to enforcing stringent measures that if a year ago you mentioned to someone we would be here, they would laugh at you and brand you insane. Some of the measures include the ban of international flights, ban of public meetings including funerals and weddings, advise against handshakes- and at the peak of these measures; a call that people stay indoors and avoid going out.
With these developments, people have found themselves at home in a very tough and confusing situation, not sure of what's to come or how to live now that it's goodbye to being outdoorsy. In an effort to play its role in helping fight this pandemic, Ficool Books — an E-book app available on Android phones has decided to make all its content free for the next thirty days. Ficool has more than 300 thousand books, a variety of genres ranging from Fiction, Romance, Comics, Historical books etc. Reading engages the mind, and this move is noble as it will keep readers engaged with the over 300,000 books available on Ficool as the government works to control and overcome the spread of the virus.
Attend Ficool Books 30 DAYS FREE READING campaign >>
In this campaign, all books on Ficool Books (Available on Google Play), will be accessible free of charge, unlike heretofore where users had to use digital coins. In addition to the free books, the company has included a number of handbooks on COVID-19, which include factual information on the symptoms, education and preventive measures for this pandemic. This will enable readers to be informed fully on how they are to handle themselves during this time, as advised by the WHO and the government.
To pass this message across so that everyone can benefit from it, Ficool Books has taken to social media pages with the hashtag #FicoolCares, and users are posting about the books they are enjoying while keeping safe indoors. Indeed, when humanity comes together, we conquer.

Forum / Naijapals Base (Metro life) / Life during Quarantine: Get free books to read! |
on: 24-03-2020 02:31 PM
| As the number of confirmed cases of the COVID-19 increases in Nigeria, most state governments have given the order for workers to work from home. Schools are closed and university students have gone back to their parents.
This is a time of uncertainty made scarier by the number of people in government contracting the disease.
But we should not give in to fear. Follow the best practices of social distancing and hygiene and you will be fine.
1. Work from home. The advancement of technology has made that possible for a lot of fields e.g content management, accounting/bookkeeping, social media management, digital marketing, freelance writing, customer support, transcribing, tech support, proofreading/editing, and many more. If your company is yet to adopt remote work at this time, make them see reasons why they should and demonstrate that you can do your job at home as effectively as you do while in the office.
2. Disinfect. Get alcohol-based disinfectants or organic ones made from lemon and wipe all surfaces, doors, devices, and knick-knacks. Do this every other day while staying at home.
3. Hygiene is key. Wash your hands with soap and running water as many times as you can in a day. There is no limit to the number of times you should do this. Wash thoroughly and for no less than twenty seconds.
4. Keep hand sanitizer handy. If you do not have access to running water all the time, have a hand sanitizer and use each time you touch any surface or device that has not been recently sanitized.
5. Keep hands off face. This is pretty difficult to do and one thing I am guilty of. Try as much as you can to keep your hands away from your eyes, nose, mouth, or face in general.
6. Protect your mental health. It is easy to become susceptible to depression or boredom during this period. Try to make yourself happy while at home. If you are working from home, make a pot of tea or a jug of zobo drink and sip. And for students, catch up with all the fun reads you may need on Ficool. So all books in Ficool, including novels, comics, classics and COVID handbooks will be FREE for 30 days! Hope Ficool will be your best friend during this hard time. Seize the day, read and become the better one.
Go to Google play store and download the Ficool app to enjoy these freebies.

Forum / Naijapals Base (Metro life) / Re: Please Save Me! UI Student With Coronavirus Symptoms Cries Out On Twitter |

| They didn't bother asking if he had a recent contact with someone that came from overseas. all they were interested in was his own travel history! This is not good enough. He could have easily contracted it from someone else. The least they could have done was to get him tested on time. People, please stay at home. This is no longer a joke. Try to make yourself happy while at home. If you are working from home, make a pot of tea or a jug of zobo drink and sip. And for students, catch up with all the fun reads you may need on Ficool. Forum / The Buzz Central / Re: Everything in Nigeria Needs to Be Shutdown NOW! - Simi Rants Amid Rapid Spread of #COVID-19 |
on: 24-03-2020 12:16 PM
| I agree with Simi. We still have a little time on our hands for now and if we can be sensible about this, we can beat it. But this can only happen if there is a lockdown or at least, a restriction of movement. So, people, stay at home. If the outing is not important don't go. And if you can have an e-meeting, go for that option.
