2  Forum / Business / Just In: Iselify.com officially launches in Nigeria on: 11-06-2021 01:36 AM
A free classified online marketplace, https://iselify.com/ has officially launched in Nigeria. The company which began business operations in Nigeria within the last few months has witnessed tremendous growth and impressive user engagement. The success of the company is premised on making every adaptable feature and process localized in an individual market.

As consumerism becomes increasingly pronounced in the country, there is a need for more people to connect with each other to exchange goods and services. Thanks to technology and the ever-increasing internet penetration, several platforms have been set up to enhance easy, smooth, and safe transactions.

Just when you hear that Iselify.com is a free classified platform, you might want to say “Oh No, not another free classified website” but this platform is just not another. Although the company is leveraging on factors such as a large population, robust economy, and fast-growing internet penetration, it is offering specialized services and creating extra value for individuals and businesses of the platform.

Iselify.com is a marketplace for the sales of used items in Nigeria (new stuff can be sold also), a second strong proposition of the company is the focus on safety. Fraud and scams have always been the major challenges associated with online transactions thereby making lots of people very careful and selective on the choice of platform to transact business.

However, Iselify.com is ensuring that transactions done are safe as it verifies every seller and ad posted on the platform. Every ad posted is verified by a technical team at the backend and ads that do not meet specific standards are not published, for example, an iPhone 6 ad priced at N10,000 may not be allowed to go live on the website. First-time sellers on the website are contacted within 48 hours and basic identification details are checked and documented before ads are made public.

One big question that obviously comes to mind is why a free classified platform is making extra investment on verification and logistics for delivery, the simple answer is that the owners want to ensure 360-degree customer satisfaction and ultimately ensure that the platform is safe and reliable for its users.

4  Forum / The Buzz Central / Paternity scandal: FCMB MD Nuru goes on leave as investigation begins on: 6-01-2021 09:51 AM
The First City Monument Bank Limited (FCMB) has sent its managing director Adam Nuru on leave to enable the bank to investigate the paternity allegations against him.

“We are aware of several stories circulating across several media platforms about our bank’s Managing Director, Adam Nuru; a former employee, Mrs Moyo Thomas, and her deceased husband, Mr Tunde Thomas,” a statement by the bank read on Tuesday.

“While this is a personal matter, the tragedy of the death of Mr Tunde Thomas and the allegations of unethical conduct require the bank’s board to conduct a review of what transpired, any violations of our code of ethics and the adequacy of this code of ethics.

“This is already under way. During the period of the review, the managing director has volunteered to proceed on leave. This will guarantee the sanctity of the review process.

“We enjoin all our stakeholders to bear with us as we conduct this review and to please respect the various families involved.”

Nearly 2,000 persons had signed the petition calling on the Central Bank of Nigeria and FCMB to sack Nuru over alleged infidelity with a former employee of the bank Moyo Thomas.

According to them, Nuru should be held responsible for the death of Moyo’s late husband, Tunde, who reportedly died of depression recently after Moyo allegedly told him some months ago that her two kids were fathered by Nuru.

Moyo had allegedly left Tunde and travelled to the United States with the kids, allegedly informing him that the children were not his when she got to the US.

Tunde reportedly suffered a stroke on receiving the news but later recovered.

It was gathered that Tunde tried to put the matter behind him and decided to remarry.

He reportedly suffered a cardiac arrest and died two days to the introduction ceremony of his new girlfriend.

6  Forum / Politics / Youths will end Nigeria’s political system if nothing is done – Mbaka on: 3-01-2021 05:14 PM

Spiritual director of Adoration Ministries, Enugu Rev Fr Ejike Mbaka says President Muhammadu Buhari needs to urgently make policies that would benefit the youths else they will “end the current political system.”

Mbaka stated this during his homily on New Year eve where he also took a swipe at federal legislators, describing them as “kidnappers”.

He said: “The Holy Spirit of God asked me to warn the government of the day to be very careful; to change policies and take care of the youths without politicising their (youths’) condition.

“That the government should rise and urgently create jobs and innovate opportunities that would benefit the youths of the nation because they have suffered so much.

“Don’t politicise the condition of the youths, otherwise, they will arise and end the political system. “Should the government fail to do so as soon as possible that time is coming when the youths will rise against the government, and that any attempt to stop them will end the government”

Speaking further on the time the youth restiveness would begin, he said: “I can see a year ahead; it is not specific whether it is in 2021 that this will happen, but it is within a time in the time of life, that the anger of God will befall many people in the political circle because they have looted so much and disgraced this nation enough.

“Those who should be serving the country have looted the country dry for their personal aggrandisement, such that our children and grandchildren no longer have a future.” Mbaka said it would be “fire for fire this year” for those who attack him.
