124  Forum / Naijapals Base (Metro life) / You’ll Pay For Attack On ESN – IPOB To Orji Uzor Kalu on: 22-08-2022 10:55 AM

IPOB warned that Kalu would pay for any attack on ESN operatives in the Southeast.

The Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB has sent a message to Senate Chief Whip, Orji Uzor Kalu.

The group threatened to deal with Kalu if he doesn't stay off the activities of the Eastern Security Network, ESN.

IPOB warned that Kalu would pay for any attack on ESN operatives in the Southeast.

The group was reacting to an alleged call by Kalu that security agencies should wipe out ESN operatives in the bushes and forests across the Southeast.

In a statement by its spokesman, Emma Powerful, IPOB said the lawmaker should write his will if he insists on bringing Fulanis into the Southeast.

According to Powerful: “The attention of the global family and movement of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) under the leadership and command of Mazi Nnamdi Okwuchukwu Kanu wish to state to the public that IPOB leadership and members have been acquainted with the threat from the former Governor of Abia State, Alhaji Orji Uzor Kalu where he has given the order for the compromised Nigeria Security Agencies to wipe out IPOB-ESN staying in the bushes and forests safeguarding our bushes and forests for our mothers, wives, and sisters who are going to the farms.

“IPOB has nothing with anybody issuing such a threat, but Orji Uzor Kalu has given us a time frame, and we are ready for him and his co-travellers who will be coming to us. Orji Uzor Kalu will pay after the attack because he will understand that IPOB is not a pushover.

“Many unscrupulous governors and elements from the East have tried in the past to neutralize ESN so that their Caliphate Masters will send their terrorists in to occupy our land but did not succeed but the compromised military ended up slaughtering innocent citizens. This time around Orji Uzor Kalu will bear the brunt of whatever he does because we must confront him and those he wished to use to attack IPOB-ESN in those local governments of Ohafia, Isiukwuato, Umunneochi, and Bende he mentioned in his viral videos showing on social media.

“Anybody who knows Orji Uzor Kalu, his associates, friends, and family must advise him to stay off activities of ESN because he brought Fulani terrorists in our land during his time as Abia State Governor, but if he continues, he should write down his will for his family. Orji Uzor Kalu, a foolish stooge of the Fulani Caliphate should ask himself why the Caliphate has not used fighter jets against the terrorists and Bandits in the North. Yet he wants to use the enemy’s fighter jets to bomb ESN who protect his mothers and sisters in our Forest and bushes from invading Fulani terrorists.

“IPOB-ESN is protecting bushes and forests for our people to peacefully cultivate in the farmlands because of Fulani terrorist activities in the bushes and forests and we cannot afford to allow Orji Uzor Kalu to bring back Fulani terrorists masquerading as herdsmen.

“Alhaji Orji Uzo Kalu cannot afford to trade with our people’s blood for his selfish political advancement but we in IPOB are here to stop him and protect our people from murderous Fulani terrorists.”
125  Forum / Politics / Aggrieved APC Presidential Aspirants, Senators Accuse Tinubu,Adamu of isolating stakeholders on: 22-08-2022 10:50 AM

It has been revealed that former presidential aspirants and senators are not happy with their party, the All Progressives Congress.

The stakeholders who lost out in the just-concluded primaries of the All Progressives Congress (APC) have now vowed to punish the party, according to dailySun.

The report stated that the aggrieved stakeholders are not happy that Tinubu and Abdullahi Adamu, party’s national chairman, have isolated critical stakeholders of the party.

A northern ranking senator alleged that Adamu, who was supported by lawmakers when governors did not want him betrayed them during the primaries.

He said Adamu runs the party “like a sole administrator and paramount ruler” who does not accommodate superior views from members of the National Working Committee (NWC).

The lawmaker said the presidential candidate has refused to reach out to aggrieved aspirants who ran against him.

“As soon as the primaries were over, Tinubu visited all the key aspirants. Commitments were made that they’ll be involved before, during and after the elections.

“I attended one of the meetings where Tinubu told one of the former presidential aspirants that he will play an active role. That promise has turned out to be false.

“Tinubu has since gone ahead to announce the choice of his running mate without consulting any of them. The aspirants have also decided to ignore him.

“Tinubu and Adamu are busy organising events. They’re leaving out the real issue. They’re behaving as of they’ve won the elections. For them, aggrieved members and stakeholders can go to hell.

“They believe only governors and President Muhammadu will deliver votes for them. Unfortunately, many APC senators didn’t get return tickets and they’ve no stakes in the upcoming elections. They won’t take it serious. The President Buhari they’re banking on won’t campaign for anybody. Let’s see who will campaign for them at the grassroots level.”

The senator said ahead of the conduct of the 2023 presidential elections, the two leading political parties, APC and the opposition PDP, were fretting over the unpredictable demographics, occasioned by the surge in the popularity of Peter Obi, presidential candidate of the Labour Party (LP).

Obi, former governor of Anambra State, was the running mate to Atiku Abubakar in the 2019 presidential elections. Until a few days to the conduct of the PDP presidential primaries in May, Obi was a leading aspirant on the platform of the party.

However, since his emergence as presidential candidate of the LP and following the announcement by the presidential candidate of APC, Bola Ahmed Tinubu to run on a Muslim-Muslim ticket, the permutations have changed.

In a chat with Daily Sun at the weekend, the ranking senator from the North, said Obi’s late entry into the race and his acceptance by the Church and youths portend a serious threat to Atiku and Tinubu.

The lawmaker, who is vehemently opposed to a Muslim-Muslim ticket, said if Obi’s surging popularity does not dwindle, APC may not win Lagos State.

He said the same thing goes for the PDP in the South East and South South- two geopolitical zones hitherto considered as its strongholds.

He said APC’s dilemma is severe. “APC may lose the entire South as a result of a Muslim-Muslim ticket. APC today can’t win any state in the South East or South South. If elections are held today, APC will not win Lagos State. If the party is lucky, it may win in Ekiti and Ogun. In Osun, Ondo and Oyo, the PDP will battle the APC. That leaves the APC with limited options.

“President Muhammadu Buhari will not be on the ballot in 2023. That means Atiku will be the first choice of the North. Atiku will win in the North East. He will win too in North West because of a large number of Hausa and Fulani there.

“PDP’s main foot soldiers are in North Central. APC is not sure of winning that geopolitical zone. It is more difficult now because of the new Electoral Act. The era of writing results in Government House is gone. If votes count, APC will be in trouble.

“As for the PDP, how can Atiku win if the entire South East and South South don’t vote for him? As popular as Buhari was, he lost elections three times until the South voted for him.

“These are the issues. I doubt if Obi will win. I don’t see that possibility, but he is causing serious upset in the two major parties- APC and the PDP.”

Though the senator admitted that he was not in a position to speak on the crisis rocking the PDP, he, however, said the issues maybe resolved before the end of August.

130  Forum / Naijapals Base (Metro life) / Obi Didn’t Demolish Mosques, Northern Group Defends LP Candidate on: 22-08-2022 10:32 AM

Coalition of Northern Groups dismissed reports that the former governor demolished seven mosques in Onitsha, the commercial hub of the state and chased the Muslims away.

The Coalition of Northern Groups in Anambra State has said a report claiming that the presidential candidate of the Labour Party (LP), Peter Obi, demolished seven mosques in Onitsha and chased Muslims away is false.

Recall that Obi was governor of Anambra State between March 2006 and March 2014.

There had been allegations that the LP candidate did not only demolish mosques but also chased Hausa people out of Onitsha.

Reacting  in a statement signed by its Chairman, Alhajji Mohammed Isa Jalo and the Women Coordinator, Hajiya Jamila Ibrahim, said contrary to the allegation, its members have lived peacefully in the state for more than four decades.

According to the statement, “our attention has been drawn to a deliberate, malicious campaign of calumny against the presidential candidate of Labour Party, Mr Peter Obi, by some politicians who have lost touch with real issues for their campaign, falsely alleging that Mr Peter Obi had anti-north stands when he was governor of Anambra State.

“We are surprised that this unfounded allegation and malicious claim have gone some steps further and resulted to name dropping despite several rebuttals by very credible Nigerians on the same subject matter.

“We wish to state here categorically that as Northerners who have been living here in Anambra State for over 20 years, His Excellency, Mr Peter Obi, did not demolish mosques and never sent our Muslim brothers out of Anambra State during his tenure as the governor.

“Without mincing words, we wish to say here that nothing can be more untrue and outright mischief like this allegation.

“Our members have been living in Anambra State, before Peter Obi became the governor of the state and have remained in the state till this moment, doing their legitimate businesses.

“If we may ask, who are the Muslims or Northerners that Peter Obi sent away during his tenure as the governor? Can the sponsors of the fabricated act point to them for Nigerians to see?

“As a matter of fact his government remains one of the most friendliest governments to the northerners and Hausa communities in particular, in the state.”

A police report revealed that the pastor defiled the sisters after convincing them to become members of his church, Revolutionary Insight Church, located at Agba Dam, Ilorin sometime in 2018.

A Magistrate Court sitting in Ilorin, Kwara State has remanded a pastor identified as Makanjuola Olabisi for allegedly defiling three biological sisters in the state capital.

A police report revealed that the pastor defiled the sisters after convincing them to become members of his church, Revolutionary Insight Church, located at Agba Dam, Ilorin sometime in 2018.

It was gathered that Olabisi invited the eldest sister for prayers after she declined his proposal to be his lover. He allegedly r#ped her and her two siblings at different times.

It read;

“When the complainants (victims) discovered that the pastor has been taking s3xual advantage of them, they stopped attending the church and the development made the pastor to threaten that calamity would befall them.”

The court refused to take the plea of the accused person, after the police prosecutor, Inspector Matthew Ologbonsaye, informed the court of a motion exparte attached to the charges, urging it to remand the pastor pending the outcome of the legal advice from the state Director of Public Prosecution in the state Ministry of Justice.

Magistrate Fatimah Salihu who noted that the court lacks jurisdiction to take the pastor’s plea, ordered that he be taken to the Federal Correctional Facility, Ilorin, pending the receipt of advice from the DPP.

The case was adjourned till September 14, 2022 for further mention in court.
132  Forum / Politics / Obi Group Tackles Miyetti Allah For Saying IPOB Sponsors The LP Presidential Candidate on: 22-08-2022 10:24 AM

Obi group stated that many members of the Miyetti Allah are key supporters of the “Obidient Movement” and have consistently committed their personal resources into the project.

The Peter Obi Support Network has called out Miyetti Allah Kautal Hore Fulani Socio-Cultural Association for making a false claim against Labour Party’s presidential candidate, Peter Obi.

Miyetti Allah had claimed that Obi is being sponsored by the Indigenous People of Biafra.

Obi group said the claim is the handiwork of the opponents of the former Anambra State governor.

The National Secretary of the Miyetti Allah group,  Saleh Alhassan, had said the promoters of IPOB and Nnamdi Kanu have switched allegiance to Obi, adding that no Fulani man would vote for the LP presidential candidate.

Speaking with The PUNCH on Sunday, the Director, Strategic Communication, POSN, Onwuasoanya Jones, stated that many members of the Miyetti Allah are key supporters of the “Obidient Movement” and have consistently committed their personal resources into the project.

Jones said, “I do not know how that individual came about such conclusions, but what I can tell you is that the Peter Obi candidacy excites all classes of Nigerians, including millions of those who, for one reason or the other, are dissatisfied by the way Nigeria is being governed at the moment.

“In Peter Obi, they see a renewed reason to believe in a prosperous and equitable Nigeria. .

Reacting, IPOB also faulted the Miyetti Allah group.

IPOB’s Director of Media and Publicity, Emma Powerful, who stated these in an interview with The PUNCH, on Sunday, said, “IPOB knows that those constantly linking Peter Obi with IPOB and Biafra agitation are doing so because of their hatred against Igbos and their fear for Biafra. They never linked their presidential candidates to Boko Haram terrorists and bandits.”

133  Forum / Politics / Obasanjo Accuses Tinubu’s Camp Of Falsehood on: 21-08-2022 03:39 PM

Tinubu and some APC chieftains had visited Obasanjo at his residence in Abeokuta, Ogun State capital, on Wednesday.

Olusegun Obasanjo, a former President of Nigeria has sent a warning to Bola Tinubu's camp.

The former president sent a warning to some supporters of Bola Tinubu, Presidential Candidate of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).

Tinubu and some APC chieftains had visited Obasanjo at his residence in Abeokuta, Ogun State capital, on Wednesday.

Tinubu was accompanied by two former governors of the state, Chief Olusegun Osoba and Otunba Gbenga Daniel, billionaire businessman, former interim national chairman of APC, Chief Bisi Akande, Speaker of the House of Representatives, Femi Gbajabiamila, among others.

Both Obasanjo and Tinubu refused to address the media after the meeting.

But barely 24 hours after the meeting, Gbajabiamila spoke about what transpired during the meeting between Obasanjo and Tinubu.

He said Obasanjo made encouraging statements about Tinubu’s aspiration and even prayed for the APC presidential candidate.

His words: “When we were going to Obasanjo’s house, we were eight, including Asiwaju Tinubu and me; we didn’t want many people to know about the meeting. So, we were to meet Obasanjo and five others from his side.

“But when we eventually got there, we met something pleasantly shocking: a mammoth crowd of our supporters were already at the former president’s house waiting for us.

“So, Obasanjo told Asiwaju Tinubu to pick three people from his side and that he would pick three from his side to meet behind close doors. So, I, Chief Osoba and Chief Akande and Asiwaju went from our side. My people, what I heard there, what Obasanjo said, the victory of Asiwaju is assured.

“Obasanjo spoke at length and we were all happy. He embraced our candidate like a brother, gave him a pat on the back, and prayed for him copiously.”

But in a statement by his Special Assistant on Media, Kehinde Akinyemi on Saturday, Obasanjo said the statements coming from those claiming to be supporters of Tinubu are “unhelpful.”

The former President said the discussion during the visit was “more brotherly than political”, and at the request of Bola Tinubu, Chief Obasanjo agreed to no statement from either side.”

Obasanjo said “Those claiming to be insiders at the meeting issuing statement on the discussion and those crediting to me statement I had not made are enemies of the visitor and are not doing the visit any good.”

136  Forum / Politics / 2023: Ignoring Wike Will Lead To Defeat – Jonah Jang Warns Atiku on: 21-08-2022 03:15 PM

The governor, who came second during the presidential primaries, fell out with Atiku after he picked Governor Ifeanyi Okowa as his running mate.

Atiku Abubakar, the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, presidential candidate, has been asked to get closer to Nyesom Wike.

Atiku was urged to close ranks with Wike, the Governor of Rivers State if he wants to win the 2023 presidential election.

Wike and Atiku have been at war since the conclusion of PDP presidential primaries.

The governor, who came second during the presidential primaries, fell out with Atiku after he picked Governor Ifeanyi Okowa as his running mate.

Reacting to the face-off, a former Plateau State Governor, Jonah Jang, cautioned Atiku against ignoring Wike.

Jang said ignoring Wike’s team was a wrong political move that wouldn’t guarantee Atiku’s victory in 2023.

He spoke in Rivers State during the flag-off of the construction of Omagwa internal roads in the State.

According to Jang: “I want to call on our presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar, to close ranks with all members, particularly members of your (Wike) group of which I’m proudly one. Doing this will guarantee victory in 2023 general elections.

“These men and women, as I have said, worked hard to build this party and they cannot just be wished away overnight.

“We need to come together, settle our differences by recognising that you need each and every one of us for you to win the general election.”

137  Forum / Naijapals Base (Metro life) / Why Over 200 Soldiers Withdrew From Military – Nigerian Army on: 21-08-2022 03:08 PM

An online platform had reported that 234 soldiers withdrew from the army due to corruption, low morale, among other factors.

The Nigerian Army has spoken up on why some soldiers retired from the service.

An online platform had reported that 234 soldiers withdrew from the army due to corruption, low morale, among other factors.

The report stated that none of the 234 soldiers had reached the mandatory retirement stage.

Responding in a statement, Brigadier General Onyema Nwachukwu, Army spokesman, said voluntary retirement is a routine exercise in the army.

He said it is within the rights of soldiers to withdraw from service when they deem it fit and if such request meet certain conditions.

“The allegation that soldiers of the Nigerian Army(NA)are proceeding on voluntary retirement due to alleged corruption, poor service conditions and low morale as recently reported by some media outfits in the social media is nothing but a concoction of the imagination of the unrepentant enemies of the nation and mischief makers and should be outrightly discountenanced by the public.”

“The subjective and unethical report is a distraction and another failed attempt at dampening the morale and fighting will of the loyal, dedicated and patriotic fighting force of the NA.

“Perhaps these impenitent mischief makers need to be schooled to understand that the NA is not a conscript Army and that recruitment into the NA is voluntary with extant policy on discharge and retirement of soldiers and officers respectively, like other organizations. This provides its personnel the opportunity to apply for voluntary discharge, when they deem fit and meet the terms and conditions as stipulated in the Harmonized Terms and Conditions of Service soldiers/ratings/airmen (Revised) 2017.

“It is thus, the inalienable right of a personnel to voluntarily or on medical grounds apply for discharge, if they meet the terms. It is therefore not an aberration that the COAS granted approval for 91 NA/32/4792 WO NDAGANA ISHIAKU and 242 others to voluntarily discharge from the NA, as being unprofessionally manipulated by some media.

“It must also be mentioned, that the quantum of equipment that have been injected into the theatres and prompt payment of operational allowances, have all turned the tide against the insurgents. Also worthy of note is the welfare flight for troops, which has significantly reduced the burden of troops travelling in and out of the theatres, in addition to huge commitment on the medical needs of wounded-in-action soldiers and the barracks communities. Equally important, is the fact that troops are now being regularly and consciously rotated from the frontline, hence, issues of overstay and battle fatigue are gradually being overcome. Suffice to say, that some of these recently discharged soldiers are beneficiaries of these giant strides.

“The COAS, once again congratulates the discharging personnel for their gallantry, patriotism, loyalty and courage while in service and wishes them the very best as they successfully exit active service from the NA. He also reiterates his avowed determination to continue to have direct impact on the welfare and wellbeing of both serving and retired personnel. He is also assuring the retirees that soon, their various commanders would organise a farewell luncheon in their honour, as it is the practice in the NA since Gen Yahaya took over command.”

In what will come across as a really heartbreaking development, a mother and her two kids have been killed.
