the use of common sense is far from getting the answer to this question. we have to take certain concepts here into consideration. " Evil": is good to get this right that evil is not a thing and thus was never created. Evil is the privasion of good(absence of goodness). further more the concept of God shows an all loving God.thus the principle of non-contradiction is applicable here ( something to be present and at the same time not to be present). God alone is the "summum bonum" the highest conceivable good. certainly there is evil in the world perhaps brought by the improper use of our free will in neglect of the good. our free will should lead us to the ultimate goodness which is God. reading the bible as a novel will never get us the right meaning and what those sacred writers wished to communicate under the influence of God. |
