Battle of Ore....hm.....God bless you my brother. Yorubas were going to be captured and turned to slaves. I'm happy you know about the TWIST. But I do feel pains when I read the hatred coming from the TWIST. I remembered the ''call TORO = TOYO days'' that my Dad was hiding loads of Ibos in our compound. I remembered when I got one of my Ibo friends a job and the siblings called me ''stupid'' in front of their kids because they expected their own to suffer a bit in western world before getting a proper job....well, I don't believe in odd jobs so that's their headache.  This same person came back to explain to me how much they hate Yoruba.

Sh*t happens when we don't pass on the whole story. If anyone hates me and my tribe I'M VERY COMFORTABLE WITH THAT. All I pray is: when it's time to divide,  it must happen in a VERY, VERY PEACE WAY for them....there's nothing wrong in wanting to split....If you hate me I don't want to be your friend either....I won't hate you as it's healthier for me, but YOU MUST CARRY THE BURDEN OF HATE.

God bless you bro, their people who didn't go home when Ojukwu asked them to come home were being brought to safety by different Yoruba families, my grandmother was one of the people who did that even though it was dangerous for her.

I no blame you nah wetin Awolowo free education teach yoruba people .you turn story upside down , go and read about Aburi Accord . you will know how Awolowo betray Ojukwu. listen yorubas are betrayers even betray their own people .  MKO swear say Awolowo no go be president of Nigeria . Awo fail election . some Yoruba elder say MKO Abiola want to become king in yoruba land no way . MKO Abiola convert millions of yorubas christian to muslims , give them bags of rice with some money and convert them easily to muslim for his coming election .MKO Abiola boostly said i can do without Igbo . after MKO won election hausa fulanis deny him president seat and kills him .  use Abiola family friend a Yoruba man for that matter  Alhaji Lateef Shofolahan to kill his wife Alhaja Kudirat Abiola . the same Yoruba elders go to Abuja and collect bribe case close.

I have said it several times that you should stop listening to street  history and make research on your own...Aburi accord was meant to organise the Armed forces, settlement of displaced Nigerians and Arrangement of the constitution..Awolowo was not even part of the delegates to Aburi,Accra ,Ghana... The problem of this accord was the misinterpretation on the side of FGN and the Eastern Nigeria region government led by Ojukwu...Abiola never cursed Awolowo, that is a story you don't need for now, go and read your history properly and then you can get more clue..
Normally, I am not supposed to reply you because nothing is meaningful in your comment but to pick out what you need to make research on ,I decided to give you these few points...I hope it will help you for your history class..Peace Smiley

Why are some people so ignorant? It's a pity that out of laziness and ignorance some pple decided not to read the article but jump to insult the guy fani kayode, for crying out loud he is not far from the truth. It's appalling that a young person of my generation Who claims to be civilized will come out and say the Yoruba tribe this the Yoruba tribe that and still be living in the Yoruba community? For crying out loud pls go back to your villages! No one is putting a gun to ur head to stay in Lagos! Develop ur communities and stay there if u can't stand us! Yes my people may not be perfect but it's Bcos u are living within us that's why u can see our strength and weaknesses, then use our weaknesses to insult us. It's Bcos no one's really cares to settle in ur own communities to be able to see the weaknesses in ur land which I'm pretty sure are more appalling! Some of u cry out and say u want to "Leave the zoo called nigeria " in ur own words but yet u perch on other tribes in their own communities rather than stay in your land, pls who exactly are u deceiving? Start by staying in ur land,ur state, ur region develop it and show us u are of any good at all before anyone can take u seriously. A Welsh man will never go to Scotland and lay claim, they respect the pple and live quietly. If u can't stand us LEAVE ALREADY! Stop acting like illiterates and blaming Yorubas for ur misfortune.

God bless you bro. Truth is bitter ...

Sincerely, FFK has said nothing wrong here and in his previous Articles. He is not a tribalist, he just trying to address some issues that could change our history if care is not taking .My brothers from the east should check themselves and do research on the history of Nigeria and the truth behind the civil war, the agreement between Ojukwu and Awolowo and not just listen to what I can say it is a propaganda from their leaders..
1. They started the war by trying to attack the south west (why not the north? they were the reason behind the war) .Were we supposed to watch them destroy our people because we don't want to be called betrayers? No , The Nigerian Army responded at Ore in Ondo state (Battle of Ore)
2.If Yorubas keep quiet our children we learn history that is not ours and hear names that are contrary to what and who we really are;names like  betrayers, coward and so on. (I accommodated a brother from Imo in my apartment, despite the fact that I have never met him in my entire life but he still have guts to call Yorubas betrayers but I didn't give him any answer because he knows nothing about his history just what he heard from people on the street of  Owerri)
3.Can a Yoruba man buy land in all eastern town and cities ?meanwhile the Igbos and other ethnic groups can do that in every corner of the south western part, so tell me why the Yorubas and not the most accommodating in Nigeria?
4.Being civilised people as you claim to be , you don't have to be bitter when someone tells you the truth or have an opinion that is contrary to yours.Learn how to respect others too you are not superior..My points goes on and on but there is no much time for me to outline everything..
I am not hating,I am beyond tribalism because I believe in the love of God but the truth must be told..
106  Forum / Naijapals Base (Metro life) / Akpabio Signs N200million Per Annum Pension Bill Into Law. on: 31-05-2014 05:58 PM
Governor Godswill Akpabio of Akwa Ibom State has signed into law the Amended Pension Bill for Ex-Governors (spouses) and Ex-Deputy Governors (spouses) in the state, which is to take effect June 1.

Governor Akpabio, who accented to the bill at Governor’s Office, Uyo, said: “The essence of the law is to streamline and avoid excesses of finances and to be prudent in the management of our resources.

“The Constitution has empowered us to make laws. So, we have today made the pension law for ex-governors and ex-deputy governors.

“This law was made in 2000. It was amended in 2006 and is now amended again in 2014. The essence of this amendment was because staff such as cooks, drivers, among others were hired by the ex-governors and ex-deputy governors with a non-financial benchmark.

Breakdown of the Pension Law

“All staff of the ex-governors should not earn more than N5 million annually and all staff of the ex-deputy governors should not earn more than N2 million annually.

“No ex-governor can spend more than N100 million in a year for medical expenses and no ex- deputy governor can spend more than N50 million for medical expenses, because we are making sure that we cover all the loopholes of financial wastage.

“Widows of ex-governors will receive a minimum of N1 million monthly for medical expenses and N500,000 medical expenses for the widows of ex-deputy governors.”

“Under the proposed law, Mr. Akpabio and others listed in Section 1(1) are entitled to a monthly pension for life at the rate equivalent to his current salary.

Similarly, the serving deputy governor, Valerie Ebe, is entitled to a monthly pension for life at the rate of her current salary.

* Mr. Akpabio and his deputy; Mrs. Ebe will therefore pocket a total of N2, 223, 705. 00; and N2, 112, 215, 00 respectively as monthly and a total of N26, 684, 460,00 and N25, 346, 580 respectively as pension, per annum.

* Akwa Ibom taxpayers are also expected to provide an amount not exceeding N5 million or an equivalent of $50,000.00 monthly for Mr. Akpabio to engage the services of a cook, chauffeurs and security guards.

* However, the deputy governor is entitled to N2million naira or an equivalent of $20,000.00 monthly allowance to hire cooks, chauffeurs and security guards.

* Mr. Akpabio and his spouse are to also access free medical services at a sum not exceeding N100 million or an equivalent of $600,000.00, while the deputy and her spouse will pocket N30 million or an equivalent of $200,000.00, annually.

Akpabio hinted that the law also covers those who served in the old Cross River State, adding that the law was to streamline and to bring sanity into state finances, which he said had been misinterpreted by the public and resulted to a lot of bashing in the social media.

Dear Umaru Musa Yar'Adua,
Its been 4 years since you left us. When you were
around we called you:
The BAD one.
The SLOW ONE.
The SICK ONE.
Yes, you were sick, in fact, sick all through your
administration, but you were never as sick as this
current President. We all cried for your resignation at
the height of your sickness. Cursing you, your first
lady and your supporters (The first set of Cabals).
Asking you to die if you want to die and allow the
man with all the Goodluck in this world to lead us. We
forgot that even though you were sick, you were the
first Governor to have ever declared his assets
publicly and you remained the only President in the
history of Nigeria to have ever declare his assets
publicly. We conveniently forgot that even though
you were gravely sick you were the first president to
ever reduced the price of petrol in Nigeria, (From N75
to N70 and later from N70 to N65) and the economy
did not collapse like the present leaders are making us
believe. We forgot that you didn't afflict yourself with
your sickness and so could do very little about it. But
we still insisted that you just have to go, so that
Nigeria can finally have her chance with Goodluck.
We forgot that even though you were terminally ill,
you still succeeded in solving the Niger Delta crisis
which you didn't cause, but you found a solution. You
gave us rule of Law, Andy Uba lost in court and was
removed as Anambra State's Governor. Oni lost in
Ekiti and was removed, Agagu lost in Ondo and was
removed, Osunbor lost in Edo and was removed even
though they are all members of your party (PDP).
Now we have seen what a healthy president has done
with the country.
His Excellency President Umaru Musa Yar'Adua, may
your soul rest in perfect peace. We will forever
remember you and your leadership.

It was a day of anguish and tears yesterday when parents of the kidnapped Chibok schoolgirls and their classmates converged on the Government House, Maiduguri, Borno State, to identify the girls who were shown in a video released by Boko Haram on Monday.

The exercise which was painstaking and lasted throughout the day and last night, however, yielded some results, as parents, girls from Chibok secondary school and Borno State Government officials, were able to identify 54 of the abducted girls who featured in the video. Latest media release said about 80 girls have now been identified so far.

Shortly after the terror sect released the video, the Borno State Governor, Kashim Shettima, had directed that it should be reproduced and distributed so that the parents of the girls could identify their daughters.

112  Forum / Naijapals Base (Metro life) / SSS Arrest Mastermind Of Nyanya Blast, Aminu Sadiq Ogwuche In Sudan on: 14-05-2014 09:28 AM
The co-mastermind of the April 14, 2014 bomb that went off in Nyanya, a suburb of Abuja, Aminu Sadiq Ogwuche has been arrested in Sudan, security sources say.

Ogwuche was reportedly arrested through the help of the Military Attaché to the Nigerian High Commission in Sudan with the help of international security operatives.

The suspect is a student of Arabic Language at the International University of Africa, Sudan is a British born Nigerian.

Ogwuche was formerly in the Nigerian Army with service number SVC 95/104 but was said to have deserted the Army in 2006.

The Department of State Services (DSS) on Monday 12, May 2014 during a joint news conference in Abuja declared him and one Rufai Tsiga planned the bombing of Nyanya Motor Park on 14 April which killed over 75 people.

The DSS through its Director of Public Relations of DSS, Marilyn Ogar, announced the declaration.

According to the Department of State Security, Ogwuche served in the Intelligence Unit of the Nigerian Army at Child Avenue, Arakan Barracks, Lagos, between 2001 and 2006. He was allegedly involved in terrorist activities which led to his arrest at Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja on Nov. 12, 2011 at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja, on arrival from the UK. But was however, released on bail to his father, retired Col. Agene Ogwuche on Oct. 15, 2012 following intense pressure from human rights activists, who alleged human rights violation.

Ogar, who announced N25 million rewards for anyone who could give information that could lead to the arrest of the duo, also paraded five suspects in connection with the bombing. Ogar named the suspects as Ahmad Abubakar, 43, Muhammed Ishaq, 30, Yau Saidu, 28, Anas Isah, 22 and Adamu Yusuf, a cleric, 43.

“Rufai Abubakar Tsiga, a Boko Haram leader, is the mastermind of the bombing of April 14, 2014 at El-Rufai Motor Park, Abuja.Tsiga was actively aided by a co-mastermind, Aminu Sadiq Ogwuche.

“The sum of N25 million is hereby announced as reward for anybody with useful information on their whereabouts,” she said.

The director said that on the night of 13 April, Tsiga and one Muhammed Ishaq, one of the arrested suspects, moved a vehicle laden with explosives to the Nyanya Park.

“In the morning of 14 April, Tsiga, under the direction of Ogwuche, moved the explosives laden vehicle to the position from where he detonated the explosives,” she said.

The DSS spokesperson said that the arrested suspects claimed that they bombed the park to retaliate the killing of a Boko Haram member at the park a week before the incident.

She denounced the claim as a fabrication by the mastermind of the bombing to elicit other members used for the bombing.

Ogar urged the public to be wary as terrorist elements were disguising and taking up menial jobs and parading themselves as businessmen daily in Abuja and its environs.

I think we should learn to respect  others. The activities of  Boko Haram are been sponsored by some powerful people or organisation. In my opinion they are not fighting for a religious purpose....Remember Luke : 6-37. Thinking all Muslims are heartless won't let you know there are good ones better than some Christians..Politics, Religion and so on are just factors to divide us as a people...The problem we are all having  is Boko Haram(just using religion as a cover up) and not our Muslim neighbours.

I pity those students. Meanwhile, most people still believe we have the best president ever in Nigeria now, the truth is, we don't have a President/government at all. Education is not run like this even in poorer African countries like Niger, Benin and Cameroon..Our leaders will continue to treat the masses as if they are nothing not until when you all can stop all tribal sentiments and say the truth whenever something is wrong and not continuing to say things that are not real.. No Nigerian Politician cares about you. You can give them all your support today and they will finish your future tomorrow when they assume that public office...
