It is always interesting to see an Under-dog team win over a mighty team...Such is life! Anyway, you can have all the ball possessions in the world but what matters is the goal. Have you been able to score? Football is no longer how beautifully you are able to play, but the goals that count. It is a wake up call for all the mighty teams in the world that are called the untouchable...Congrats to all Chelsea Fans!
22  Forum / Naijapals Base (Metro life) / Newborn baby found alive in morgue 12 hours after being declared dead on: 12-04-2012 07:21 AM
A newborn in Argentina was found very much alive in a morgue by her mother 12 hours after hospital staff had declared the baby dead. The mother, Analia Bouguet, tells TeleNoticias TV that the hospital still has issued her only a death certificate for the infant rather than a birth certificate. Bouguet said she is planning to pursue a medical malpractice suit. The Daily Mail reports that the baby was Bouguet's fifth and was born prematurely. Two hours after being issue a death certificate, Bouguet and her husband visited the morgue because they wanted to see their child one more time. "The baby was there and they put the little casket on a stretcher. We looked for a bar to pry it open," the baby's father, Fabian Veron, said in a press conference. "My wife looked and uncovered it slowly. She saw the little hand and then uncovered the face. That's when it let the first little cry out." "That night, we went to the morgue. We wanted to take a photo of our daughter," Bouguet told Argentina's Clarin newspaper. "But when a worker opened the drawer, we heard a cry and she was alive." The newborn has been named Luz Milagros, or "Miracle Light." She is still listed as being in critical condition but is said to be improving. The deputy provincial health minister announced that five medical professionals involved in the case have been suspended, pending further investigation. "At the moment we have no explanation," hospital director Jose Luis Meirino told the paper. "The baby was attended to by obstetricians, gynecologists and a neonatologist. They all reached the same conclusion, that this girl was stillborn."

I feel so sad when i read so many comments here on Naijapals, I see hatered for one tribe or the other, ethnic bigotry and irrelevant abuses on one person, tribe or religion. I am asking, Where is the Unity we pray for all the time? This earth belongs to no one except God. It does not matter how large your village is because it is only a spot in the universe.
LET US PRACTICE LOVE FOR ONE ANOTHER, TOLERATE ONE ANOTHER AND FIGHT TO MAKE OUR COUNTRY GREAT. THE FAME OF NIGERIA IS DEPRECIATION DAY AFTER DAY. OUTSIDE NIGERIA, YOU ARE CALLED A NIGERIAN AND NOT HAUSA, IBO OR YORUBA.
GOD BLESS YOU ALL.

I just want to ask a question: Cant NP admin bare someone from using this site when he or she is insulting, abusive, promoting hatred, and tribalism? Many other sites do such when they see someone promoting something which is contrary to its rules and regulations. I think that will help because this is not the NP which I know some years ago. The NP I know was to connect with other Nigerians abroad and to foster unity among us wherever we are.
25  Forum / Naijapals Base (Metro life) / Villas-Boas sacked by Chelsea on: 4-03-2012 07:37 PM
Andre Villas-Boas has been sacked by Chelsea after less than a year in charge at Stamford Bridge. Chelsea's decision comes on the back of Saturday's 1-0 defeat by West Bromwich Albion and a run of just three Premier League wins in their last 12 games.
The 34-year-old Portuguese only took over as manager in June 2011.
Former Chelsea midfielder Roberto di Matteo has been put in charge as first-team coach on an interim basis until the end of the season.
A statement on the club's website read: "Unfortunately the results and performances of the team have not been good enough and were showing no signs of improving at a key time in the season.
"The club is still competing in the latter stages of the UEFA Champions League and the FA Cup, as well as challenging for a top-four spot in the Premier League, and we aim to remain as competitive as possible on all fronts.
"With that in mind, we felt our only option was to make a change at this time."

I normally complain about what people post here without editing there work. How can a Nigerian post something here that Zambia knocked out Nigeria in group stage? This shows clearly that we don't follow events properly......we just post whatever we hear from others......Anyway, Congrats to Zambia....I know the whole of Southern Africa will be bubbling now.....As to Ivory Coast, you played so hard but its not your day.....Let us hope another tournament will be your time....By the way the next edition of AFCON is just around the corner....Barely 10months from now (January 2013) hahahahahaha!......That one will be a cracker when the big teams might have come back e.g. Cameroon, Nigeria, Egypt, Algeria, South Africa etc etc etc......that will be interesting....I cant wait to see the fights...

So what about the Catholic Church building that was destroyed......or you mean to say even the Church building and its surroundings were also intact?

My sister, it is not all Nigerians that have a bad reputation.....If you stand by the rumour of generalization you will never get what your heart desires.. my advice is just study your man....Love him from where he is..........and make sure he reciprocate the same way....Give this love your best and when you are sure he loves you the same way you loves him then, go on with where your heart is....above all put this to prayer depending on whichever religion you are.....and God will enlightened you on your choice and gives you direction on who this man is and what you should do.....Good luck!!

33  Forum / Naijapals Base (Metro life) / One-month old baby received a salary in Nigeria on: 3-11-2011 03:26 PM
A one-month old baby, said to hold a diploma, was on the Nigerian government payroll, officials have discovered, exposing the levels to which corruption runs in Africa's most populous country. The name of the infant was recently found on the payment voucher of a local government council in northern Nigeria during an exercise to fish out ghost employees from a bloated workforce, Garba Gajam, justice commissioner for Zamfara State told AFP late Wednesday. "In the on-going verification exercise of the payrolls ... in the state we discovered that a month-old baby was among the employees of one local government who is paid a salary," Gajam said. "What is even more astonishing is that it was indicated in the payroll that the infant holds an ordinary national diploma," said Gajam, revealing that the discovery is a "widespread trend in the local government service where senior officials stuff payrolls with the names of their wives and children".
In August the name of a five-month-old baby was found on the payroll of another local municipality, prompting an investigation. "And we have been receiving amazing revelations which point to the rot and abysmal level of corruption at the local government level," Gajam said. Perpetrators will have to refund the siphoned funds and face prosecution for misappropriating public funds. Zamfara is one of the 12 predominantly Muslim states in northern Nigeria that adopted the sharia law which imposes amputation of a wrist for theft.
So far no-one has been tried for corruption in a sharia court in the state since the re-introduction of the penal code in 1999. In 2001, two cattle rustlers had their right wrists amputated in separate sentences, drawing local and international outrage.

36  Forum / Naijapals Base (Metro life) / Re: UNITED NATION OFFICE IN ABUJA BOMBED......... on: 27-08-2011 12:28 PM
It is very surprising to read the kind of comments Nigerians write on NP. The question is how can I be happy when an Islamic Sect just bombed UN building in my country? If these people Bomb my family house would I be congratulating them for doing so because Nigerian Govt has failed? True there are so many things Nigerian govt has to deal with and one of them is security....no question about that. Let us ask ourselves few questions here. 1. These Bombs the Boko Haram people are using are locally made with gas cylinders...so which place are these bombs manufactured? 2. who sponsors this? 3. Where do they meet up to plan their targets? 4. They surely use phone calls I presume...how is it that Nigerian security operators cannot hack into their phone calls? 5. How can an Islamic sect in the north travel all the way from north to the State capital to carry out its operation without any clues? 6. Am I safe wherever I am in this country at the moment? Absolutely no! because they can reach anywhere at the moment. What will should be saying now is for the govt to stand up and face the reality before this country turn to be another Afghanistan. If we are congratulating Boko Haram for bombing UN building in ABJ we are making a big mistake..After all have many expatriates died in this incidence? It may be just few and the rest of other people will be our Nigerian brothers and sisters. A saying in my language goes......"The firewood that was not in fire stood by the side and laughed at the one in fire....forgetting that in a short time it will also be thrown to the same fire..." It is time we join hands and say no to any terrorists attack...!!

The outgoing CJN, Hon Justice Idris Legbo Kutigi was a nupe man from Niger State, the nominee is Tiv from benue State. Also, in Nigeria, the appointment has strictly been based on seniority on the supreme court bench. Neither Kutigi nor Katsina-Alu are hausa, so current criticism is baseless. Nigerians should learn to think well, hard and have eye for the facts as the country belongs to all whether hausa or not.

Thanl you Makintosh...Nigerians dont care to know one another...Justice Katsina-Alu is not Hausa......He is Tiv from Benue State. And I agree with what you said about their appointment. It is strictly by seniority..anyway, that is not issue.........The issue is whether he will deliver well........with fairness, justice, and truth...
