While I do not necessarily support or oppose any administration, I kind of agree with the plan to site the plant there or anywhere else in the south, west or east. For one, the other regions are relatively safer than the North now. With the volatility of the North, it is not prudent/safe to build a nuclear facility there. I pray that peace reign in the North as it is a beautiful place and most of the people are wonderful people too.

It is very sad. Those officers are doing their jobs, I know. But blessed is the servant that implements his/her duty with common sense and sense of justice. The women in this video are mothers who are trying their best to feed their children and family. What we should be more worried about is, how did things get this bad. This is a new low for our beautiful country. I know the government is trying to imitate what China did or at least close to it (closed border for 40 years), but must also recognize that we are not China and don't have the kind of intellectual properties, cheap labour, and government (communism) that helped China build her Nation. We are a democratic Nation and should look to those with similar values to build our Nation. For God sake, even China had to relax communism a bit to benefit from Capitalism which is the backbone of western economy. God bless Nigeria, God bless our leaders (those who are willing to listen to the plight of our citizens).

China is not great because they closed their borders. China is great in their own way becuase they focused on producing world class technologies (from their intelligence, cheap labour, and partly from commandeering (some call it stealing)other peoples' intellectual properties. Whether you interprete it as stealing or not is another story. We cannot copy other country's approach and expect success. Border closing, when implemeneted, is usually done in a stepwise fashion with ample time for citizens to prepare and work with you to achieve a stated goal and not just done abruptly. It saddened me to see the video in which a lady (someone's daughter, wife, sister, mother and granddaughter) smuggled a handful of rice packed in a small nylon bag and placed into her bra and headtie. It is sad that our citizens have to descend to such a low state to fend for their families. May God guide our leaders to guide us with compassion and love.
