Forum / The Buzz Central / Re: Nollywood: Why Yoruba movie actors aren’t respected |
on: 13-06-2014 08:39 AM
| Some just don't reason before they make comment. And I strongly believe that they don't even watch theses movies that look like juju to them simply because they are tribalistic or religiously blind. Forgetting that what is happening in in Yoruba movies is also happening in the movie with their languages 100%. I agreed with the writer but to some extent. Yoruba actors might not be as famous as their English actors and actresses but one thing is obvious, they have been able to send across to the world the cultural value of the Yoruba people and the language is more spoken than any of the languages we have in Nigeria. The melody value of the language has become a norm to the non Yorubas in Nigeria, at least I have listened to several Igbo music featuring Yoruba language to make it more melodious as well as movies to make it more reasonable and send messages across. All the writer is saying is to do more to bring themselves to the stage and compete with the English actors and actresses. We should not forget that among the English actors and actresses, there are Yorubas. So please comment reasonably. | | |

Forum / Naijapals Base (Metro life) / Re: Bloody Fight Breaks Out In Cherubim & Seraphim Church |

| Some of the comments shows that some people just read the caption and pass insults. As a Muslim, I read it and I can understand that the guys are actually under the influence of their mother and some members who are jealous of Obas. It is good for them to have a rethink and follow their father's instruction. They were there when he handed over the GO responsibilities to Obas, they should have complained and probably changed their father's mind when he was alive. It does not take anything away from them to show some level of respect to Obas and be ordained spiritually, just like he(Oba) did to their father to have won his heart and be trusted to carry on with his good work. Hooliganism or destruction will definitely take away the spiritual value of that church even though they eventually or forcefully take over. | | |

| Let her sell what she likes. Everyone explores Nigeria and human short comings, just like church is spreading because of our bad economy that has led into men avoiding marriage or sex that could get them hooked. A new dimension to xplore and be patronised from her jare. | | |

| " I no longer sleep with my two eyes closed" Not news to me, same to majority of Nigerians because of insecurity . I think it is good for the president to share in the experience. I pray the girls are released and even after that, your eyes will remain opened because there are more issues to come except you stand on your too feet to address them. Don't be timid my president. | | | |
