Its not as if she said am i not trying for fun. she said that because one of the rapist told her to co/operate, so she told them am i not trying out of tiredness and begging for freedom. What do u expect from the poor girl? A girl that was raped for more than one hour. and besides the girl struggled and fought with them to no avail, so i feel she did the best thing to succumb, rather than get hurt. And besides if she had struggled with them and got killed, you people will still wish she succumbed. Pls let not judge or curse her, cos u dont know her.
EHH WAIT! SHE WAS ENJOYING HERSELF. 1. WHY DID SHE LEAVE HER HOUSE TO THAT PLACE. 2.THE SO CALLED RAPE SCENE IS NOT A BUSH. 3.SHE NEVER SHOWED ANY GOOD SIGN OF RESISTANCE RATHER SHE WAS KINDA ACTING IN A SILLY SHAKARA MANNER. 4.She had her leg wide OPEN FOR THE SO CALLED RAPIST. now! i let me tell you, i was unfortunate to be in a victim of an armed robbery house attack. THIS GUYS TOLD THE GIRLS TO PULL DOWN THEIR PANTIES. THEY NOW DECIDED TO GANG BANG THE GIRL WITH A FAT ASS. SHE held still of THE MIGHTY DICK OF THE HOODLUMS. when the stupid arm robbers finished the robbery they just left without touching the girl again. NOW THIS ABSU GIRL RAPE VIDEO IS INDEED CALLED A RAPE VIDEO EH GUYS I TELL YOU IT IS CALLED CONSENSUAL record. BCOS THERE WAS NO SINGLE SIGN OF RESISTANCE. period

There is something obviously wrong here. With this kind of mentality. This is RAPE. With your kind of uninformed small brain, it is evident that as a continent, we still have a long way to go. Do not wish that it happens to any women closest to you....

I wish this video could also be removed from the site.... The girl and the family can do with not being reminded of it on a constant basis. My heart bleeds for her!
2  Forum / Naijapals Base (Metro life) / Let us make educated responses please!! on: 24-03-2010 11:35 AM
Naijapals Base seems like a forum which attracts people from all walks of life. That includes all Africans, Europeans, America, etc. Moreover, people from different backgrounds with varying views. Some people in here are from Universities and working, some are still in University, while some are still in school. Be that as it may, my request is that you PLEASE make some informed and calculated responses here. There is nothing as annoying as someone making an interesting post then the respmonse is followed by a smiley, 'na whao', or 'yes nau'. It just makes some of you intelligent people ignorant and makes this forum somewhat boring and so mediocre!!

I know that there are some topics which are formed for fun but, some really need more that 'God shall see them'!!! Calculate, assess and Judge, THEN, make a response please. Maybe this forum will grow!!

Just a humble request post my observation!

I friend & i was talking this morning and we argued about dis topic. He said it is disrespectful of any wife 2 keep her maiden name after marriage. He said the woman belongs 2 d man & should bear d man's name. What do u guys feel abt dis?

A woman is not a man's commodity and is NOT owned by a MAN!!. A woman belongs to herself and maybe God (If they believe in God). What's in a surname? Do I marry him or his name. His kids can bear his surname... Met tend to overrate this surname nonsense.. I will definitely keep my maiden surname..If needs be, I can have a double barrel surname.

These days, this kind of business is beginning to flourish here in SA. There is a syndicate which operates between SA, Nigeria, South America and Europe. Children as  young as 10 are abducted and sold off for a pittance. The kids are normally used for child prostitution.. It is now becoming rife because all sorts of weirdos are beginning to trickle into South Africa. Thanks to the WORLD CUP!! Guess who was found to be the leader in all this shenanigans? Yep! You guessed it! A Nigerian man! Igbo to be precise!! We are just tired!!

My life is ALWAYS worth living. Even while Im going through fire...I always celebrate once it has been put out. Life in itself is a Gift from God. That I am still alive today, I celebrate it..cherish it..Enjoy it.  I also appreciate that it will never be smooth!
13  Forum / Naijapals Base (Metro life) / Re: Inside Abia’s ‘Baby Factories’ - Teen Mothers Sell Babies for N10,000 on: 15-03-2010 01:09 PM
Very sad to say the least. That is what poverty does! makes us vulnerable, desperate and to constantly make stupid mistakes. I guess society drives girl to this as well. I know in Most African countries, a woman will be shunned for having a child out of wedlock. They are made to feel dirty... Is some cases, the poor women fall pregnant due to rape...

My biggest question is, where the HELL are the men that made them pregnant while they (women) are going through this nonsense? Really, it is tough being a woman in Africa!

I truly feel for these girls

@Mba5

I could not have put it better myslef. I always wonder what goes on in their head but, I am certain that they ask themselves about me being a hetero. At the same time, that does not mean I have to alienate them..or..that they should go through crpa becuase they are not like the majority of us.

Yes. . . . we all know things aren't going very well for the motherland right now, however, somethings come naturally to us Nigerians ,which we need to acknowledge and appreciate.

I list a few:

1. Fear of God :this is taken for granted by Nigerians ,but something most of the developed world has lost.

Very true. However, MOST of them HIDE behind the name of GOD while going on with their sinister businesses. I know of a VERY 'RELIGIOUS' Nigerian man here in SA. He preached and preached YET, he was caught by the police for being a Pimp and dealing in drugd. Much for the fear of GOD!

2.Respect for Elders/Parents: Nigerians naturally respect people older than them, this is usually strange to many non-nigerians/africans

Africans in general do respect their elders. And ofcoz, there are always exceptions to the rule!

3.Love of family : We generally get interested in family-siblings,cousins,half-brother etc. . . . most of the world's getting increasingly selfish & its cool we still have this   Wink

This love of family tends to get out of hand. It can at times lead to TRIBALISM as a certain tribe tends to discriminate against another because they are just NOT family.

4. Abhorrence of debt : one thing that has helped many Nigerians especially abroad is our financial discipline/system,many were brought up having to pay cash for everything,so we tend not to live off credit i know we have a number of exceptions

Agreed!

5.Appreciation of poverty: while not  being necessarily poor, many nigerians know/understand what it means to be poor and work against it & this is usually responsible for what most people see as 'aggressive/ambitious'.  Tongue

6.Celebrating : who can celebrate more than Nigerians, even in the midst of problems[/b]

That's an AFRICAN trait. Here in SA, we dance in the streets while on strike. Nothing special there!

Do you have anymore? No hating please
17  Forum / Naijapals Base (Metro life) / Re: SA SuperSport Journalists Seized in Nigeria on: 10-03-2010 10:22 AM
Can somebody go and find Tirocco for me please!!

This is what I meant, the man has been released and even though he is denying it, ransom was paid.  Hmmm... The privilege of being WHITE!!

Nick Greyling, the Supersport sound engineer who was kidnapped in Nigeria, arrived safely in South Africa on Wednesday morning, the family spokesman said.

"He landed from Lagos this morning," said Johan Russouw.

"He is very, very tired; he is exhausted, but under the circumstances, he is doing very well."

Russouw, who is Greyling's father-in-law, said the family was very grateful to those who helped secure his release after the abduction last Monday.

Greyling and his wife would spend a quiet day together.

"The first thing they are going to do now is have breakfast together," said Russouw.

"His youngest daughter is sitting on her dad's lap."

Greyling and his wife have three daughters, aged seven, four and one-and-a-half.

"To say that they are happy to see each other will be an under-statement."

Russouw said Supersport was expected to release a media statement later on Wednesday but no plans had been made for Greyling to address the media.

The department of international relations and co-operation said on Tuesday it was up to Greyling if he wanted to talk about the ordeal.

Spokesperson Nomfanelo Kota declined to comment on reports by the international news agency Agence France Presse (AFP) out of Lagos that 15 million naira ($100 000) ransom was paid to secure his release.

Russouw said: "As far as I know, no ransom was paid. His release was secured through co-operation between the governments of Nigeria and South Africa and with the help of a negotiating party."

Greyling was released on Monday night. He had been taken hostage with two of his Nigerian Supersport colleagues -- cameraman Alexander Effiong and commentator Bowie Attamah -- when their bus was attacked in the Imo province, near the Oweri airport.

Effiong escaped soon after the attack and Attamah was released on Friday. - Sapa

19  Forum / Naijapals Base (Metro life) / Re: Being BLACK Is Never a SetBACK, It is an Opportunity... on: 9-03-2010 08:32 AM
Well, we all know why we think whites are superiors..History is to be blamed really..Our parents were made to believe that being black is a curse and that white is the new black..Hence we saw the likes of skin lighters.

Being realistic however, being black can be a set back..Your potential is always questioned..you have to work EXTRA hard to prove that you are more than your skin color. I had my professor in Jand telling me that as a foreigner, I have to work EXTRA hard..which I viewed as an insult really... Being black and being a WOMAN is EVEN extra challenging.
