I disagree with this law because I think it is part of a crackdown on Muslims. I heard Sarkozy's explanation. He basically said France is a secular country and people should not be publicly displaying their religious choices. If he had also banned the Jews from wearing their yamukas(?), the priests from wearing their collars, the Seiks from wearing their turbans and the Christians from wearing the cross I would have no problem with that law. So many assume it was for security/identification purposes. Where was that officially mentioned? If that were so don't you think that the next step will be no more large beard and lengthy facial hair? That's my take. If you don't like the message please...don't attack the messenger.

People have very little restrain or second thoughts when under the influence of alcohol. Do they really enjoy molesting after (drinking) alcohol?...when it is more difficult to get an erection? When a married couple is separated they are still legally married. If you have sex outside of marriage as poster say, it is adultery. If two people are not married it is cheating. It seems to me that the banning of the Islamic veil in public is all about tightening the screws on Muslims. If it really is for security reasons shouldn't they also ban the wearing of masks in parades etc?...the wearing of motorcycle helmets with tinted face visors?...the wearing of ski masks when it is very cold? Help me understand why the Islamic veil is singled out.

@Derbi...where did I say I am not a Christian? I'm not going to get above my mortal self and say or speculate what makes God happy. The God I refer to is the Alpha and Omega one. He knows and controls everything that happens before it happens. If by feeding the poor, nursing the sick etc will make your god happy then so be it for I must admit I know very little of the ways of the juju gods. Teach me.
