| Hmmm... how many of u have even thought of praying for your pastors? don't you know they are flesh and blood like you? difference is, they are called to be set apart. while not endorsing this act, yet it is not very easy with them you know...
Take some time to encourage and support them, it is painful to read some of these stories...

Forum / Naijapals Base (Metro life) / Re: Would you fight your husband’s mistress? |
on: 17-05-2010 03:22 PM
| Fighting her may work in some cases but not for some type of babes. Come to think of it, if the babe is stronger, what happens? Many will see you equal to them the moment you reduce your respect and condescend to tangle. There is also the possibility that your reaction can stir up sympathy for either your cause of that of the mistress from your husband.
With a careful study of your husband, you should know the better option; the important thing is for you to manage your home and keep your man. Whatever you decide to do, make sure your eyes are on the trophy, not the race alone.

| Its a phase in life,u'd definitely get tru it.Juz be steadfast in ur prayers,n av faith....Instead of wallowin in self pity, put brain 2 work,n pray God 4 ideas,on wat 2 do,no matter how lil it may be,n if a job cumz along,u grab it....Wish u all d best!
so much has been told u my friend... many of us have been there b4. Usually, it is a phase which u can choose to take as preparatory or see it as an end. Use the time to prepare for opportunities so that when they come, you'll not be found wanting. But one thing is sure, this phase will pass...
Forget the babes now, at least not as your primary focus; get what u need, babes will look for you when u have arrived

| Well, I was married once, and my assessments led to the question I have posted... Maybe there was a sampling error, but check for yourselves objectively, without being biased and you may see i have some point in my deductions. Do you think all the divorce cases are caused by men who are unwilling to give their all to make the marriage work? | | |

Forum / Naijapals Base (Metro life) / Re: Why is marriage soo important to nigerian ladies! |
on: 4-03-2010 12:55 PM
| Our culture is one that tolerates intrusion into the private lives of others. With busy bodies and gossips around, a young lady's life becomes hell if at some point, say 30, she is still unmarried. Presently, some comedians are using this as a topic for their jests.
At 28 and no one has proposed, the babes are becoming desperate because some woman will use it to insult their mother who probably may have boasted with them, etc... and their mother begins to pile up pressure on her...
The whole thing then creates a multiplier effect such that our girls see it as the ultimate; a medal not to be toyed with and at times, applied to disastrous extents.
But generally, a woman's role finds ultimate fulfilment in marriage, but they should wait; it is the man that will marry them not the other way round!

on: 4-03-2010 12:28 PM
| God bless you, Omoni... I think you deserve a medal. Reference should be made to you in our portrayal of the good Nigeria has to offer in sharp contrast and parallel to the percentage babes in Nigeria who even despise you for turning down such 'juicy' offer when it is a just-one-time and the world would have been yours! Besides, many would say, with that much money, you could have bought yourself a 'better' husband if he even coughed!
Am sure your husband will hold his head high among his equals and your parents and family members will be proud of you. I do not know you, but for once, am proud to be a Nigerian alongside you and your types.
May God honour you for honouring Him...

Forum / Naijapals Base (Metro life) / Fuel get rich quick schemes |
on: 4-03-2010 12:03 PM
| In this period of fuel scarcity, a lot has become enshrined. Some stations sell well above the regulated pump price, like N100 per litre, but dispense exact quantity displayed on the LCD; others display a pump price of N65 per litre and pump out questionable quantities.
Recently, I visited a major markerter and asked for N2,000.00 worth of fuel at the displayed rate of N65/litre. I was happy that I did not meet a long queue and when the pump displayed a figure above 30 litres as the quantity dispensed, I gladly paid. No sooner had I started the engine than my car guage showed me I had received about 17 litres!
On another occasion, I had the guage actually move up to full tank (and was satisfied); but when I had driven for about five minutes, it inexplicably came to half tank! (I had asked them to "fill" the tank and they did!). There were no leakages, inshort, no plausible explanation. I later heard there were stories about pumping air and filling the tank with it...
I am not an expert, but can someone tell me that this is not broad day light fraud endorsed by the elasticity of our all-accepting psyche?

Forum / Naijapals Base (Metro life) / Re: Should men consider good character or beauty in the choice of marriage partner? |
on: 4-03-2010 11:28 AM
| It is bizarre - a peacock or baboon...?? Wetin de first attract na beauty; which ofcourse is relative! No one notices character until over time and even at that, some can hide their character and show the real one when they are in your house. 2ndly, character and ugliness can be both managed in today's world... In a world where there is no perfection, it is a little to the right and a little to the left.
For me, it's not necessarily character per se or beauty; there has to be a blend - if not, the children, if they take the ugliness (they will have a complex; if they take the bad character, you will hate yourself)... And you know, your decision now affects them (and they never asked to be born!)

| Guys, let's not trivialize an obviously serious issue. Whether christian or muslim, God recognizes institutionalized authority. Our president is in pains and if we respect his position and person (as even morality teaches), we should attach some respect to our address of issues that relate to him. What if he is your father (which he is in a way!)?
It is appalling to note that the world is watching and with dismay, the lack-lustred trends with which even progressives handle matters here. Whichever way it goes, let things work in this country; we have long been chasing rats when the house is on fire!
