1  Forum / Politics / CBN FRAUD: Ordinary Cash Assistant Has N134m In Account on: 4-06-2015 07:51 PM
Greed is a bad thing, if you allow it to catch up with you then you are heading for destruction. Simple!

Hearing in the Central Bank of Nigeria N8bn mutilated currency fraud suit continued at the Federal High Court, Ibadan on Wednesday as the
EFCC told the court that one of the accused persons, Mr. Ayodeji Alase, had as much as N134m in just one of his bank accounts.

The EFCC told the trial judge, Justice A.O. Faaji, that Mr. Alase, a primary six certificate holder, started work at First Bank as a guard before he was promoted to the position of a cash assistant.

The lead prosecution counsel for the EFCC, Rotimi Jacob (SAN), also revealed that the accused had property worth hundreds of millions of naira.

Mr. Alase, according to the anti-graft agency, has a duplex at Oluyole Estate in Ibadan, a shopping complex, a warehouse at Podo, a fenced plot at Dugbe, a block of four flats at Apeye, two plots of land and five-bedroom flat in other parts of the state capital.

He was alleged to have another credit balance of N132m in one of his bank accounts.

The commission also alleged that Mrr. Alase possessed a block of five-bedroom flat at Apete area of Ibadan and a supermarket at New Garage, Apata area of Ibadan.

Other accused persons, including Olaniran Adeola, Ayodele Adeyemi, Isiaq Akano and others were also said to own property in South Africa, filling stations, cement shops, schools, supermarkets, exotic cars and buildings in several locations in Nigeria.

One of the accused, Mrs. Afolabi Olunike, was alleged to be the owner of a duplex, several plots of land, a storey building and another three acres of land.

Earlier during the hearing, Mr. Alase delayed court proceedings when he claimed not to understand English when charges were read to him. But Jacob rose to fault his claim, alleging that although Mr. Alase was employed as a guard, he rose to become a cash assistant in First Bank Plc.

Justice Faaji later ruled that an interpreter should be provided for Mr. Alase to ease communication between the court and the accused. Funny enough, he pleaded not guilty to the charges.

The accused persons are:

Kolawole Babalola, Olaniran Adeola, Toogun Phillip, Ayodele Adeyemi, Isiaq Akano, Oyebamiji Akeem, Alase, Ajiwe Adegoke and Idowu Oguntade, who is still at large.
Three officials of the CBN were among the accused, while others are from Wema Bank and First Bank.

According to the charge sheet, the accused persons were charged with intent to defraud and conspiracy to commit an offence punishable under the Nigerian law.
They were also accused of sharing among themselves mutilated currency meant to be destroyed and destroying and defacing some boxes used to move the currency from one bank to the other. They all pleaded not guilty to all the charges and despite efforts of the counsel to the accused persons to secure bail for them through oral application, Justice Faaji ruled that they should be remanded in prisons pending further hearing.

The case was adjourned to June 8, 2015 for further hearing.
2  Forum / Politics / List of 10 Poorest States in Nigeria on: 28-05-2015 07:53 PM
Nigeria - According to the National Bureau of Statistics, Sokoto is the poorest state in Nigeria with an 81.2% poverty rate.

Furthermore, a 2012 information posted on the bureau’s website listed the top 10 poorest states in the country
:

10. Zamfara – 70.8%

Formed from the Old Sokoto state in 1996 and located in northwestern Nigeria, Zamfara is governed by Abdul'aziz Abubakar Yari, a member of the All Nigeria Peoples Party.

Agriculture is the most important occupation of the people of the state, hence its slogan "farming is our pride"

Recently the governor was blasted for the “alarming scope of economic dangers and its potential threat to the economic development of the state,” by the Zamfara Budget Working Group.

9. Kebbi – 72%

Kebbi State is a north-western Nigeria state formed from part of Sokoto State in 1991. It is bordered by Sokoto State,Niger State,Dosso Regionin the Republic of Niger and the nation of Benin.

There isn’t much to be written about the state’s economy but things are looking up. The recently concluded Sir Ahmadu Bello International Airport (SABIA), stands out as one of Nigeria's most sophisticated airports and is expected to boost the state’s economy.

8. Bauchi – 73%

Bauchi is a Northern Nigerian state formed in 1976 when the former North-Eastern Stat ewas broken up.

In Hausa the word Bauchi meansthe land of freedom and tourism. However recent Boko Haram adventures in the area, though few, have driven tourists away from the area.

Last year Gov. Isa Juguda told Arewa that economies of Northern states is finished due to the Boko Haram insurgency.

7. Ebonyi – 73.6%

Created by Gen. Sanni Abacha in 1996, Ebonyi is the only south eastern state among the top 9 poorest country. It is governed by Martin Elechi who currently claims his enemies have set aside N3bn for his impeachment.

The state is besieged by corrupt office holders and the EFCC recently froze accounts of the state’s local governments.

6. Plateau - 74.1%

Plateau State is the twelfth largest state of Nigeria, and is roughly located in the center of the country. Governored by Jonah Jang of the Peoples’ Democratic Party, Plateau has naturally col climate and a wide range of tourist attractions and boasts of a bubbling state capital, Jos.

The state is haunted by some terrorist attacks and tribal clashes from time to time, especially clashes between Fulani herdsmen and its inhabitants.

5. Jigawa – 74.1%

Jigawa, carved out of the old Kano state is located in North central Nigeria and is under the leadership of Alhaji Sule lamido.

Kano State and Katsina State border Jigawa to the west, Bauchi State to the east and Yobe State to the northeast. To the north, Jigawa shares an international border with Zinder Region in The Republic of Niger, which is a unique opportunity for cross-border trading activities. Government readily took advantage of this by initiating and establishing a Free-Trade Zone at the Border town of Maigatari of country of Niger.

4. Gombe – 74.2%

Gombe is another North eastern state which shares common borders with the states of Borno, Yobe, Taraba, Adamawa and Bauchi. It suffers sporadic attacks from terrorists and is governed by rIbrahim Hassan Dankwambo of the Peoples’ Democratic Party.

3. Adamawa – 74.2%

Formed in 1991 from the extinct Gongola state, Adamawa has of late been terrorized by the islamist Boko Haram terrorist group, disrupting it’s economic development and growth.

However Yola, the state capital under its current governor Bala Ngillari is fast being transformed with new roads, street lights, traffic lights and other prerequisites of a modern city being built. However things are far from being rosy as other parts of the state remain underdeveloped.

2. Katsina – 74.5%

Katsina is a state in North central Nigeria and is governed by Ibrahim Shettima of the Peoples’ Democratic Party.

The state has the highest poverty prevalence amongst all states in the region.

Under the economic sector there is a paltry capital allocation of only N276 million (0.2%) to manufacturing, a paltry N214,019,000 (0.1%) capital provision for Women Empowerment under the Ministry of Women Affairs and only N100 million (0.08%) under the Ministry of Youth and Sports for the states Youth Empowerment Program (Youth Action Plan).

1. Sokoto – 81.2%

Sokoto is located in the extreme Northwest of Nigeria. It has unfriendly climate conditions with temperature going as high as 45C on a normal day.

B-R-E-A-K-I-N-G News!!!
How Church Leaders Endorses Jonathan In Presence Of Pastor Osibanjo.

**I had prayed and God lead me to endorse and support Jonathan" - Adeboye.
**Pastor Osinbajo in attendance seeking for blessing and support him and Buhari and was told that the Blessing is for Jonathan.
**Osinbajo was not allowed to address the Christian leaders.

In attendance at the meeting, were Pastor Enoch Adeboye, General Overseer, RCCG; Bishop David Oyedepo of the Winners Chapel; Pastor Ayo Oritsejafor, CAN President; Rev. Felix Omobude, PFN President; Pastor Paul Adefarasin, PFN Vice President; Pastor Wale Adefarasin of the Guiding Light Assembly and other key Christian leaders in the nation.

Pastor Osinbajo was also at the meeting to seek their blessing to support him and the candidacy of General Muhammadu Buhari.

Pastor Paul Adefarasin was said to have broken the silence when he asked Adeboye who they should support since his ‘son’, Pastor Osinbajo is vying for the vice presidency with Buhari. They wanted Aeboye to say something and Osinbajo was watching as he believed that ‘Baba’ will certainly ask other leaders to endorse him, but he was disappointed

Adeboye was said to have told them that he is a man under authority and that since he is under the authority of CAN and PFN, whoever they endorsed, he would support and go with them.

It was then that Oyedepo stood up and said he had prayed and that God was leading him to endorse and support Jonathan and that was the script the Christian leaders adopted at the expense of Osinbajo.

Instead of the meeting being for prayer for the nation, it was gathered that it turned out to be for the secret endorsement of Jonathan as all the leaders present except Osinbanjo agreed that CAN and PFN should go with Jonathan.

Osinbajo was not allowed to address the Christian leaders, giving the excuse that since the other contesting party was not present, they would not allow him to address the audience. He was said to be downcast as his own rejected his aspiration.

Their congregations were advised to use their Votes save the church of God, as the church is under attack. - Hope For Nigeria.
6  Forum / Politics / ‘I left my Children and Husband to become a Robber’ -27yr-old Victoria . on: 22-01-2015 07:23 AM
Operatives of the Special Anti Robbery Squad, SARS, Ikeja, Lagos have smashed a syndicate, arresting a woman and a man that specialised in robbing unsuspecting passengers who board commercial cab along Badagry-Mile 2 route.

According to Police sources, the suspects identified as Ahmed Isiaka and Victoria Amodu are part of five-man robbery gang operating along Seme-Badagry- Mile 2 route.

One of the apprehended robbers, 27-year-old Victoria, while narrating her story said: “I was arrested last Wednesday at Dakar Hotel in Seme where I used to work as a prostitute.

“I am from Edo State. I came to Lagos last February to look for greener pastures when my husband was constantly beating me. We were married for eight years.

“I abandoned my husband and three children and came to Lagos with the intention of living under the bridge until I found a place to lay my head. Fortunately for me, I didn’t have to sleep under the bridge as I met a lady in a commercial bus I boarded who had compassion on me when she saw me crying in the bus.

“She took me to the hotel where she was working as a prostitute and introduced me into the league of prostitutes.

“Everything was going on well until Okanlawon patronised me in the hotel. The first time we spent the night together. After that night I didn’t see him again untill three weeks later.

“Weeks later, someone stole my N100,000 from my room in the hotel while I was asleep. While I was still lamenting the loss, the collector of our Esusu contribution disappeared with my N150,000.

“As I was still grieving over the loss, Okanlawon came to the hotel to see me. He told me to accompany him to a night club. Initially I declined but after much persuasion I followed him.

“Instead of going to the club, he took me to his place where we spent the night together. In the morning, he asked me to enter the front seat of his vehicle and he started picking passengers and I asked him why he was carrying passengers but he didn’t respond.

“It was when he and his gang members attacked the passengers that I knew what he was into. I told him I didn’t want to take part in their operations. But he threatened to deal with me, saying nobody would know my whereabouts if I didn’t co-operate with the gang.

“That was why I had a rethink and continued to participate in robbery operations. The first time I participated, I wasn’t given anything while at two other times I was given N15,000 and N10,000 respectively.”

Trouble for the gang

Vanguard learnt that trouble started for the gang after a victim whom they robbed reported the incident at the Ojo Police Division which began investigating the activities of the gang.

Ironically, the female police officer investigating the case at the division was also robbed by the gang when she boarded their vehicle while in mufti.

She was able to get details of the vehicle during the attack. The cab was later traced to Iyana-Iba the next day when unsuspecting passengers were already boarding it.

Ahmed was then arrested while the other members escaped. The case was later transferred to SARS for further investigation which eventually led to the arrest of Victoria.

Mode of operation

The gang had two operational styles. First, they could use two operational vehicles.

One of the suspects, Ahmed would occupy the driver’s seat while Victoria, the only female suspect in the gang sits in front and another gang member at the back as unsuspecting passengers board the cab.

The other two members would sit in the back-up vehicle. Immediately they get to a lonely place along the road, the gang members in the back-up cab would signal the driver with the passenger to stop by flashing his phone.

The driver would then pretend to be fixing his vehicle that would have suddenly become faulty. This will allow those in the back-up vehicle to launch an attack. That way the passengers won’t suspect any foul play.

The second mode of operation is that they use one vehicle with Victoria sitting beside the driver to pick passengers without the back-up vehicle.

Ahmed’s account

During interrogation, 33-year-old Ahmed Isiaka from Kwara State told Vanguard: “I was introduced to the gang by Okanlawon last November. Other members of the gang are Nuru, Victoria and Isiaka.

“I am the driver of the operational vehicle, a Honda Accord, while Nuru used to drive the back-up vehicle, a Mazda.

“We used to operate along Iyana-Iba-Badagry expressway. Usually, Victoria sits at the front while another member sits at the back. I take passengers from Iyana-Iba bus stop going to Badagry. Before we get to a lonely area between Agbara and Oko-Afo the other members of the gang in the back-up vehicle would signal me to stop.

“Immediately, I receive the signal, I would pretend like the vehicle was faulty then park and pretended to be fixing the vehicle. While this was going on, the other members would strike.

“We don’t use guns or juju to rob passengers, instead we use wheel spanner. We don’t even make them unconscious during operation. Usually we operate in the night. Sometimes we operate in broad daylight.

“Depending on our loot, I could get as much as N10,000 from one operation. And I have participated in about four robbery operations.

“Okanlawon used to take all the phones we get from operations. Before I joined the gang I was a commercial bus driver.

“I am married with a child. I used to live at Ibafo before my rent expired and I moved to 1, Denton Street in Oyingbo.

Saudi-born US naval engineer allegedly gave undercover agent info on how to sink carrier
A Naval engineer is facing charges that he gave an FBI undercover agent posing as an Egyptian intelligence officer secret documents about the new Gerald R. Ford aircraft carrier while discussing how to sink the vessel with a missile.

Mostafa Ahmed Awwad, 35, of Yorktown, Va., was arrested Friday on an FBI affidavit that reads like it came from a Tom Clancy novel.

Federal prosecutors in Virginia say that during his conversations with the undercover, Awwad arranged to use a dead-drop location along a secluded hiking trail to pass secrets about the Ford, which is being built in Virginia for delivery to the Navy in 2016.

The affidavit says that at a hotel meeting on Oct. 9 Awwad gave the undercover drawings of the aircraft carrier that he said were top secret. During the meeting, "Awwad discussed where to strike the vessel with a missile in order to sink it," the affidavit says.

The FBI undercover was posing as an Egyptian spy named "Yousef" and spoke to Awwad in Arabic.

The Virginian Pilot said Saturday that Awwad cried as he was led into the courtroom for a brief hearing before a federal magistrate judge in Norfolk. He wore a pink collared shirts, sweater vest and tan pants, the paper said.

The judge ordered Awwad detained until a hearing Wednesday.

The indictment accuses Awwad of two counts of attempted exportation of defense articles and technical data. Each count is punishable by 20 years in prison.

The affidavit says Awwad was born in Saudia Arabia and married a U.S. citizen in Cairo in 2007. After his marriage he took steps to become an American citizen.

The court papers also say the Navy hired Awwad to work in the Norfolk Naval Shipyard’s nuclear engineering and planning department in February and that he got a security clearance in August.

The FBI sting began in September when the undercover contacted Awwad. The court papers do not say why Awwad became a target.

During their first meeting in a park in Hampton, Va., Awwad explained to "Yousef" that he intended to use his position to obtain military technology for use by the Egyptian government, including but not limited to, the designs of the USS Gerald Ford nuclear aircraft carrier.

"Awwad agreed to conduct clandestine communications with the undercover FBI agent by email and unattributable telephones and to conduct 'dead drops' in a concealed location in the park," the Justice Department said in a press release, cited by the Navy Times.

At the Oct. 9 meeting Awwad asked for $1,500 to buy a tiny camera to enable him to photograph restricted material around the shipyard, according to the affidavit.

On Oct. 23, Awwad retrieved $3,000 in cash left at the dead-drop location. He left behind a container with an external hard drive and two passport photos. The FBI later collected the containers.

The day after Thanksgiving Awwad was observed in his Navy office holding what appeared to be aircraft design schematics which he placed on the floor and photographed.

The Pilot said the USS Ford is the lead ship in the Navy’s new class of carriers. The Ford stands 25 stories high and is three football fields long.

Retired rear admiral Fred Metz, head of the Navy’s carrier and air station program until 1991, told the paper its bad enough for the schematics of any Navy vessel to be given away.

"But it’s worse to give away the Ford's," he said. "There is a whole lot of new technology on it we haven't seen before."

Why will the USA Center for Disease Control and the US government claim ownership and patent right of the Ebola virus that is killing people in Africa if they did not developed it?
We are again asking the question - what were the professors from Columbia University and the Biological weapons experts doing in Sierra Leone, Guinea Conakry and Liberia over the past 5-7years?
Can the US govt made available samples of the experimental vaccines the people of Sierra Leone, Guinea and Liberia were injected with in January 2014 prior to the outbreak of the EBOLA disease for testing?
Until African leaders stop running to the west for everything and accepting everything the west offer without question just because of the monies they will be making - More dangerous calamities are surely on their way to destroy us.

IBB started religious crises in Nigeria – Confab delegation may 27, 2014 at 5:10 pm in news

ABUJA–DR Maryam Abdullahi, a delegate representing Civil Society Organisation, CSO, at the on-going National Conference, Tuesday, accused former military President, Ibrahim Babangida of starting religious crises in Nigeria.

Dr Abdullahi said the former military ruler pushed Nigeria into membership of the Organisation of Islamic Conference, OIC, without the consent of the people he was ruling, a development, she said started religious crises in the country.

She insisted that the relationship between Christians and Muslims deteriorated when Nigeria was admitted as a full member of Organisation of the Islamic Conference.

Abdullahi, specifically said Babangida, who pushed for Nigeria’s full membership of OIC, did that to manipulate religion in order to perpetuate himself in the office, insisting that this was the beginning of mistrust between adherents of the two faith because of mutual suspicion of possible Islamization of Nigeria

Abdullahi spoke while making her contribution to the debate on the report of the conference Committee on Religion, during plenary.
The delegate who spoke to the applause of her colleagues, said: “The relationship between Christians and Muslims deteriorated when Nigeria was admitted as full member of Organisation of the Islamic Conference.

“This made Christians to start resisting any move that would portray Nigeria as an Islamic state.

Consequent to this, there is the prevailing mistrust and disharmony between the adherents of the two religions in the country.
“Mr. Chairman, the then Head of State, that pushed for the admission of Nigeria into OIC did not do that in consultation with the Muslims. He did that in order to manipulate religion as a political tool to perpetuate himself in office and now Nigeria is the worst for it,” she said.

She, however, cautioned against viewing every political policy from religious perspective, explaining that OIC an economic forum not only for Islamic states but also for countries that have Muslims minority.
Dr Abdullahi appealed to the conference to allay the fears of Nigerians that nobody would Islamize or Christianize Nigeria and urged political class to stop manipulating religion and ethnicity in order to achieve a political goal.

She called for strengthening of the Nigeria Inter-Religious Council in order to promote inter-religious peace and stability, while also calling for inter-religious dialogue in Nigeria.

But the recommendations by the Committee on Religion that governments at all levels shall not utilize public funds to sponsor any religious pilgrimages for any category of citizens and government functionaries generated heated arguments among delegates.
Similarly, the recommendation for establishment of a National Religious Equity Commission to be jointly chaired by a Muslim and a Christian, generated heated debate among the delegates.

While some delegates applauded the report, others condemned the two recommendations, describing them as unnecessary.
The immediate past Minister of Education, Professor Ruqayyatu Ahmed Rufa’i, in her contribution, commended the work of the committee and supported the recommendation that government should stop sponsorship of delegations on any pilgrimages.

But she disapproved the recommendation for establishment of a National Religious Equity Commission, arguing that Nigeria already had too many commissions and that there were bodies on ground, especially the National Human Rights Commission to deal with such issues as stipulated in the committee’s recommendation.
Also contributing, another delegate, Mr. Atedo Peterside, said he endorsed over 90 percent of the report in view of the excellent work done by the committee but disagreed on the recommendation for establishment of a National Religious Equity Commission.
He argued that establishing the commission was like what he described as “using a single evidence to arrive at different results.”
Mr Peterside drew the attention of the delegates to the situation in France where he said religious organisations came together to address some of the problems they faced instead of bringing the government into it.

“I have strong reservations in this. We should not allow government to get into religion under any guise. Countries that don’t take religion so seriously make far progress than those, who embrace religion.
“As beautiful as this report is, we should be careful. This is the kind of item for which it is very clear that fundamental rights are the issues. Those rights should be handled by religious NGOs and we should not elevate religion above fundamental human rights,”he added

15  Forum / Politics / Local Borno village women's group repels Boko haram attack on their communities on: 27-05-2014 11:12 AM
LOCAL women in the villages of Attagara and Kawuri in Borno State disarmed 10 Boko Haram terrorists who tried to attack their communities over the weekend resulting in the lynching of seven of the insurgents.

As part of its ongoing reign of terror, Boko Haram tried to spread its operations to Attagara and Kawuri villages in Gwoza and Bama Local Government Areas of Borno State. However, they were resisted by a group of women using local charms among other things and were disarmed.

After the women repelled the attacks, they then raised the alarm and the rest of the community rallied round to apprehend the insurgents. Three of the terrorists fled but seven were arrested and lynched by an irate mob.

One  resident said the attackers invaded the village yesterday on motorcycles but ran into the  women and wanted to hit them with sticks but when they raised the sticks, their hands refused to descend. The women then notified the local vigilante group, which rushed to the scene, disarmed the seven insurgents and lynched them.

According to the resident: “Three of the insurgents fled but seven were not lucky as the women alerted the people.

Attagara, a border community with Cameroon is about 10 kilometres southeast of Pulka District in Gwoza Local Government Area of Borno State and about 130 kilometres from Maiduguri, the state capital. Of late, local people across Borno state have stepped up the fightback against Boko Haram, having borne the brunt of its brutal terrorist campaign.

Yesterday, scores of gunmen suspected to be members of Boko Haram were killed yesterday through the combined efforts of members of the vigilante youths, otherwise known as the Civilian Joint Task Force and the military in Kawuri village in Bama Local Government Area of Borno State. Mamman Yakubu, a vigilante youth that participated in repelling the insurgents, said they lynched the terrorists because Boko Haram members hardly reveal any secrets when arrested.

One top security source, who confirmed the incident, said that three dead bodies of the terrorists were recovered yesterday morning in Kawuri. He added that more of the terrorists were killed in a nearby bus, close to Kawuri when they attempted to flee to the Sambisa Forest. - See more at: http://www.nigerianwatch.com/news/4482-local-borno-village-womens-group-repels-boko-haram-attack-on-their-communities#sthash.0YQEAuaW.w2RTNkiM.dpuf

BORNO GOVERNOR, SENATORS OFTEN PROVIDE US MISLEADING INFORMATION TO WEAR US OUT AND DRAIN RESOURCES.- DHQ
The defence headquarters has accused the Borno state governor, Kashim Shettima and senators representing the state of giving security officials intelligence reports on the Chibok school abduction that proved to be wrong.
Major General Chris Olukolade, the director of defence information, made this known during an interview on the African Independent Television programme “Focus Nigeria” which aired on Tuesday, May 13, 2014.
Olukolade said Shettima gave wrong information on movement of 60 trucks in the ongoing case of the abducted schoolgirls.
“I think, what you were saying was in retrospect. Like I said, we want to avoid engaging him(governor) in public. There was a piece of information he gave sometime which was about the movement of 60 vehicles,” he said.
Olukolade added that: “Immediately that information came, aircraft went on air instantly. The whole of the environment he gave was searched, up till the points he said was the destination of those vehicles. They were searched thoroughly and nothing was found.
“And this is one issue about information in this operation, which seem to have been, most of the time, unhelpful because it tends to just want to wear us out and expend resources. By the time aircraft go on air, you can imagine the resources involved. We have a series of that experience.
Olukolade added that a lot of time and resources are wasted on prompt actions on information which turn out to be false.
“One problem with the situation right now is too many pieces of information that are of no value at the end of the day. But it is a resolve that no information would be despised, whosoever is giving it whether it is the governor or the man on the street. Once the information comes, a lot of action goes into place instantly,” he said.
He added: “The same with the senators. In fact, most of the time the Senators speak, it gives us the impression they were in close contact. And many times perhaps, they also mislead.”

Remember terrorist Kabiru Sokoto hiding in Governor Karim Shettima's lodge in Abuja? This will help draw you mind back to what you have gotten.

In the beginning was the discovery and arrest of Kabiru Sokoto, one of the deadliest commanders of Boko Haram at the Borno state governors lodge in Abuja and the governor claimed ignorant of his stay there.

It has also been revealed in the current Chibok abduction saga how the same governor Shettima flagrantly refused to accede to the request of WAEC that the students be relocated to a safer environment in Maiduguri insisting that the exam be conducted in Chibok inspite of the security challenges.

But when the girls were abducted, the first act of the governor was to rush and distribute the sum of 1 million naira each to the parents of the abducted girls. And the question that comes to mind is: what is this money meant to achieve? To silence the parents or what?

Again for 20 days after the abduction no individual or group claimed responsibility but a day after President Jonathan gave a marching order to governor Shettima to produce the girls, the leader of BH, Shekau appeared on the scene and released a video claiming responsibility for the abduction. So who is fooling who?

Why are we still pretending not to know the sponsors of this devilish organization?

Down the Memory Lane:
Retired General Buhari on Sharia Law
"Sharia should be introduced in full across Nigeria…I will continue to show openly and inside me the total commitment to the Sharia movement that is sweeping all over Nigeria…God willing, we will not stop the agitation for the total implementation of the Sharia in the country…It is a legal responsibility which God has given us, within the context of one Nigeria, to continue to uphold the practice of Sharia wholeheartedly and to educate non-Muslims that they have nothing to fear…What remains for Muslims in Nigeria is for them to redouble their efforts, educate Muslims on the need to promote the full implementation of Sharia law." – Former Military Head of State, Gen. (Rtd) Muhammadu Buhari, speaking in Kaduna at a seminar organized by the Supreme Council of Sharia in Nigeria, August 2001.
20  Forum / Politics / Fani-Kayode Warns APC Against Muslim/Muslim Presidential Ticket: on: 1-04-2014 02:21 PM
This is not 1993 and whether we like it or not we must accept the fact that religion plays a major role in our politics today.”
A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress, APC, and former Aviation Minister, Femi Fani-Kayode, has cautioned the party against fielding an all Muslim presidential ticket in next year’s polls.
In a statement on Monday, Mr. Fani-Kayode said the APC would lose “woefully” if they present a Muslim-Muslim ticket in the 2015 presidential election.
“I have said it privately in countless political meetings and I will say it publicly today. Please mark it – the biggest mistake that my party, the APC, can make is to field a Muslim/Muslim ticket in the 2015 Presidential election. If we do that we will not only offend the Christian community, but we will also lose the election woefully,” Mr. Fani-Kayode said.
In the 1993 presidential election, the Social Democratic Party, SDP, had fielded M.K.O Abiola and Baba Gana Kingibe – both of them staunch Muslims – and still went ahead to garner a landslide victory in the annulled election.
“This is not 1993 and whether we like it or not we must accept the fact that religion plays a major role in our politics today,” Mr. Fani-Kayode said.
“Our party must have both a Christian and a Muslim on the ticket if we want to be taken seriously in the Presidential election. I implore those that think otherwise to sit down and think this through properly,” Mr. Fani-Kayode added.
Mr. Fani-Kayode further argued that presenting a Christian/Christian ticket would be as insensitive to the feelings of Muslims as a Muslim/Muslim ticket would be insensitive to the feelings of Christians.
“I for one would never support a ticket that presents two members of the same faith no matter what the consequences would be.
“This country belongs to both Muslims and Christians- we are all one and we must ensure that we do not hurt the feelings or the sensitivities of one another either advertently or inadvertently. As they say ‘the road to hell is paved with good intentions.’
“Let us be mindful of our actions, deeds and words, no matter how well-intentioned they may be, and let us ensure that we do not confirm the terrible stereotyping that those that are against us are trying to label us with.
“The APC is the only hope for Nigeria. Let us not mess it up by making the wrong choices. A word is enough for the wise,” Mr. Fani-Kayode said.
