*GOOD DAY NAIJAPALS!!*

Problems are the price of Progress. And for you to maneuver in order to succeed, it requires Great ideas that need landing gear as well as wings.

The blind boy!

A blind boy sat on the steps of a building with a hat by his feet. He held up a sign which said: “I am blind, please help.”

There were only a few coins in the hat.

A man was walking by. He took a few coins from his pocket and dropped them into the hat. He then took the sign, turned it around, and wrote some words. He put the sign back so that everyone who walked by would see the new words.

Soon the hat began to fill up. A lot more people were giving money to the blind boy. That afternoon the man who had changed the sign came to see how things were.

The boy recognized his footsteps and asked, “Were you the one who changed my sign this morning? What did you write?”

The man said, “I only wrote the truth. I said what you said but in a different way.”

What he had written was: “Today is a beautiful day and I cannot see it.”

Do you think the first sign and the second sign were saying the same thing?

Of course both signs told people the boy was blind. But the first sign simply said the boy was blind. The second sign told people they were so lucky that they were not blind. Should we be surprised that the second sign was more effective?

****************

Moral of the story: Be thankful for what you have. Be creative. Be innovative. Think differently and positively.

Invite others towards good with wisdom. Live life with no excuse and love with no regrets. When life gives you a 100 reasons to cry, show life that you have 1000 reasons to smile. Face your past without regret. Handle your present with confidence. Prepare for the future without fear. Keep the faith and drop the fear.

Great men say, “Life has to be an incessant process of repair and reconstruction, of discarding evil and developing goodness…. In the journey of life, if you want to travel without fear, you must have the ticket of a good conscience.”

The most beautiful thing is to see a person smiling… And even more beautiful is, knowing that you are the reason behind it!!!

"Exercise 150 minutes a week, live 3.4 years longer!" You've probably seen that headline--from a recent Harvard study--and many others like it all over the web. Hit the gym, eat more vegetables, or quit smoking, and you'll be around for a few more years.

In concept, it's a good tool for motivation. The problem? It's hard to conceptualize how something you do today might affect you in 30 or 40 years, David Spiegelhalter, Ph.D., a professor of biostatistics at the University of Cambridge tells MensHealth.com.

That's where Spiegelhalter's quirk of statistics comes in. He thinks about the effect of specific activities on your longevity in terms of "microlives"--30-minute windows. Break the numbers down and you'll see just how binge drinking cuts years from your life: After the first one, which increases your lifespan by 30 minutes, every alcoholic drink that you down today brings you 15 minutes closer to death. (That means the standard advice of "no more than two drinks a day" still stands, since you're still 15 minutes ahead after two drinks.)

We've laid out just how the good and bad habits you engage in daily are either adding extra hours to your clock, or stealing them away so that you can plan your time accordingly.

At some point, this is just going to turn into a picture post because I truly don’t know what to say about the 5’4″ 420-pound LA resident  Mikel Ruffinelli who, according to online UK mag, Closer, holds the title of having the largest hips in the world at a circumference of 8 ft.

Well, one thing to say for starters is Miss, excuse me, Mrs. Ruffinelli loves her body. The 39-year-old has been married to her husband, Reggie Brooks, 40, a computer technician, for 10 years and the couple are the proud parents of three children. Mikel also has a 19-year-old son from a previous relationship whose birth, she says, sparked the spreading of her hips. She told the mag:

“After having Andrew in 1994, I went from 13st and a size 16 to 17st and a size 20 and couldn’t shift it.”

Source: Closer Online

Three kids later, that size jumped up to 32, accompanied by a 42D bust and a 40-inch waist (and don’t forget 8ft hips).

“I put [the weight gain] down to my pregnancies,” Mikel said. “I don’t see why else the weight would go to my hips, although, I do eat lots.”

“Lots” means 3,000 calories a day, which Mikel points out for someone her size is not a lot. She also says she was an athletic teenager and never had a problem with her weight until she became pregnant at 22. And though big hips run in her family, Mikel says no one’s are quite as big as hers. But that doesn’t bother her.
“I love my shape and I see no reason to diet because I don’t have health problems. I love Mexican food, English breakfasts and chips. My husband finds my shape Hot and we have an amazing time in bed – there’s no position we can’t do! He tells me I’m beautiful every day. Men don’t fancy skinny girls, they like an hourglass figure.

“When I walk down the street I can hear people using cameras and saying: ‘Look at her fat a**.’ Fortunately, I rise above it. I don’t want to get bigger, but I don’t want to lose my curves. I look great. I hope I inspire women to think, ‘She’s happy with her body and I can be too!’”

Source: Facebook

I’m glad Mikel is happy. I’m more surprised she’s comfy carrying so much hip on such a small frame. But if she and her husband like it, and her doctor doesn’t hate it, then I can love it. Thoughts?

Born by the same parents, on the same day within just eight minutes of each other, and growing up doing almost everything together, the duo of Peter and Paul have in January, 2013, have parted ways to two different vacation spots.

For many, December is that holiday month they look forward to every year. This is not the same for A-list artistes who do back-to-back shows, helping you enjoy your holiday by performing at concerts, end of year parties and various kinds of events. P Square definitely had one of their busiest seasons last year and for these hard working Jacks, it’s time to play; and they are choosing different vacation spots in the United States.

Last week, Paul was spotted in Atlanta, while Peter told us he’s hanging out with in San Francisco with kids Cameron and Lola. The multi-award winning duo and triple Headies winners at the 2012 edition say they’re “chopping their money”.

The couple (Aisha Mohammed Sheriff & Ibrahim Abdullahi Atta) who met in secondary school celebrated their wedding in amazing style, their distinct elegance was clear from the display of Kanuri and Ebira Culture during the Wushe Wushe ceremony to the luxe grandeur of their wedding dinner in Abuja. A lot of momentous scene was unveiled; the couple’s cupcake tower in lieu of a wedding cake, the beautiful bride’s stunning outfits including her dazzling Casadei shoes, the handsome groom outfits and lots more.

He was the house captain of her boarding school house at Adesoye College, they rarely spoke until he pulled strings for her to be placed on his dining table! At first, there was silence because she missed her old table mate but later they became friends. Little did Aisha Mohammed Sheriff and Ibrahim Abdullahi Atta know that this was the start of their journey towards marriage. The future lovebirds completely lost touch until they met again at Aisha’s 21st birthday in London. Once again, time elapsed and it wasn’t until the summer of 2008 at a friend’s birthday party that they met once again and their love story truly kicked off.

In 2010,  Aisha was planning a birthday party for her milestone 25th year. She ended up scmolesting plans for the party or so she thought…! That night she walked into the restaurant where they had plans for dinner and surprise surprise, Ibrahim had planned her party with his cousin’s help. All her friends were there….she was so overwhelmed with joy!

After dinner, everyone went to the lounge  and danced for a bit, her beau called her over to somewhere quiet and started talking but the bride tells us “I cant remember a thing he said…I was just looking like – oya, where is it? lol!” Ibrahim took out a red box and presented a stunning Cartier brilliant cut ring. With tears in her eyes, she said yes and then the couple announced the great news to their friends.

All their years of friendship and love cumulated  as Aisha and Ibrahim were joined as husband and wife. It started with the Walima ceremony and then a series of Kanuri wedding events including Kaulu and Kalawa then the Wedding Fatiha at the Galadima Modu Sheriff Residence in Maiduguri, Borno State.

The festivities went up a notch at the Wuche Wuche traditional wedding night. The bride Aisha looked amazing in her gold and ivory outfit accessorized with bold gold jewellry and exquisite lalle while Ibrahim looked regal in his grey Babariga. The night was filled with lots of dancing, games and traditional celebration. The next stop was the wedding dinner in Abuja where all guests were whisked into Aisha and Ibrahim’s winter wonderland. Ibrahim was dapper in his 3-piece suit and Aisha was enchanting in her wedding dress with a distinctly stylish bow back detail and train. Aisha’s bridal look was completed by her spectacular pearl hair piece. Love was in the air all through including the groom’s speech which was a major highlight while performances by Wande Coal and Tiwa Savage kept friends, family and the couple grooving all night!
