A TEENAGER in China sold one of his kidneys to buy an iPad 2, Chinese newspaper the 'Global Times' reports.
The 17-year-old boy, identified only by the surname Zheng, searched the internet and found a buyer who was willing to pay 22,000 yuan ($3400) for the organ.
Without telling his family of his plans, he travelled north from his home in the eastern Anhui province to a hospital in the city of Chenzhou in Hunan province, where he was operated on under the supervision of a kidney-selling agent.
His mother's suspicions were aroused when her son returned home with an iPad 2 and an iPhone, and Zheng, who was left with a deep red scar from the surgery, was forced to admit what he did.
She took him back to Chenzhou to report the crime, but the contact numbers the kidney agents gave Zheng were not working.
The hospital, which admitted contracting out its urology department to a businessman, denied any connection with the kidney-removal operation.

A 36-year-old Turkish woman last Saturday set a man she alleged raped her on fire in a mosque in Reutlingen, Baden-Württemberg, Germany. She said her action was revenge for his segxwal assault of her. The woman poured petrol on the 38-year-old man before setting him alight. MIAMI - Hip-hop singer Sean Kingston has been stabilized and moved to the intensive care unit at a hospital after crashing his watercraft into a Miami Beach bridge, his publicist said Monday.
The publicist, Joseph Carozza, said Kingston's family is grateful for everyone's prayers and support.
Kingston and a female passenger were injured when the watercraft hit the Palm Island Bridge around 6 p.m. Sunday, Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission spokesman Jorge Pino said.
The Miami Herald reports that a passing boater saw the accident and took the two on board his vessel.
Both were hospitalized early Monday at Ryder Trauma Center, but Pino said he didn't know their conditions.
Authorities are investigating the crash, and "nothing at this point would indicate that alcohol played a role," Pino said.
Kingston rose to fame with his 2007 hit "Beautiful Girls" and was also featured on songs by artists including Justin Bieber. His self-titled debut album sold over 1 million copies worldwide.
On Twitter, Bieber posted a message of support for Kingston.

Inspector Jose Carlos Bezerra da Silva said Friday to Globo TV's G1 website that the woman was waiting for a bus in the central city of Goiania when the man used a knife-like weapon to cut the hair, which reached past her waist. She said she thought the man was going to steal her purse so she turned her back to him.
Silva said he'd never seen a theft like it in 20 years.

I and my friend av been gud friends to each other from our tender age and there as not been an occasion where we debate on one girl. This is the most disturbing situation I find myself right now. The Girl that am talking about is a friend to both me and my friend, D.J. her name his QUEEN. Queen is a very gud, deligent, inteligent, kind, and beautiful Girl.
