YARADUA Getting BETTER............ SPOKE to BBC news team

http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/africa/8453321.stm

Speaking by telephone, Mr Yar'Adua said he was making a good recovery.

"At the moment I am undergoing treatment, and I'm getting better from the treatment. I hope that very soon there will be tremendous progress, which will allow me to get back home," he said.

"I wish, at this stage, to thank all Nigerians for their prayers for my good health, and for their prayers for the nation."

Rumours had been rife that he was critically ill and unable to return to the presidency.

@Omatu

Excellent analysis from a switched on person

Suddenly the CIA now coming up with stories that their intelligence is alive after they have their arse in the sling by Obama
they were waiting for the boy to land in Detroit for a more extensive search Huh??

LMAO   supposing the bombing had succeeded Huh?  that would have been the greatest search and interrogation of the year !! right there in the busy city of Detroit .

"Organized" Yemeni intelligence is so sure Farouk -Muttalab got the bomb from Nigeria where he only spent only 30 minutes and yet they couldn't even  tag the dangerous guy and a flea of others right there in their midst currently cooking other atrocities against the US and the peace loving world in general .

Yemeni government now coming out as smart ass with some good record.  Haven't they recently appealed to the US government to help them with the lacking  neccessary Aids to deal with the  fleet of Al-Queda  terrorists in their midst Huh?

And its so true  when you listen to this terror news internationally .  the emphasis is always  on the Nigerian birth of the perpetrator  of the attempted act .  Not where he was rectuited Not where he was  trained and and armed .  Not how people have neglected information that could have helped stopping the terror act .  Its only just on the fact that he is a black person and most especially notorious Nigerian
again . . .   How Senseless   !!  ?   That could have made a bit of sense if there had been many (at least one similar attempt) by another Nigerian.

They even failed to recognize the father of the radical boy for good neigbourliness if one can be a whistle blower against his own blood to forestall potential bloodshed  then he deserves a pat on the back irrespective of his race or country of origin .   These Yankee blokes are so full of themselves thinking they are the only ones fit to live on the surface of this mother earth and thats ominous .

You are a Bundle of Contradictions    LOL

As i told you before , its eazy to see your comments here against Nigeria as that of a wounded snake always trying to get back at Nigeria. Thank God you are now coming out with your reasons for that.
Anybody who is switched on and can read between the lines will know that you do not wish Nigeria well ,contrary to what you profess .

Again you do not have the right to determine the future of Nigeria and Nigerians through what you call your own 'venomous' contributions.

It is the likes of you who felt they knew whats best for Nigeria who created its present political enigmaand instability and taking massive advantage of it

Yes i can be a "coconut head" thank you   I will remain recalcitrant to the fact that your contributions are worthless as long as they do not have interest of the Nigerian people at heart .  Of course you are welcome to hang around and continue selling your trade whatever attention your are craving for with your clients you came to visit earlier  no problem with that.

Yes you have been sitting in a cozy chair  and throwing spanners from afar .  You could do better come down here and change those leaders cos i believe that will be a more pragmatic approach. am sure this time they might welcome you with a red carpet rolled out not with machine guns since you are on a  compulsive mission to remake your "fatherland"

And is true matter: majority of ppl - not only in america - r not well  informed about all facts in politics. So one should not create hatred against america citizens in general. As u said already, majority among them dont even know, what s going on.

Happy sunday

@ DolphinKate

Again you  are getting all these mixed up maybe due to  the same language problem you claimed on another forum but related topic

You always seem to know exactly  what is best for Nigeria even though you are not fully Nigerian yourself  as you claim.

(In your own eyes you are quite convinced that Nigeria should be placed on that terror  list  just because of some isolated incident of an attempted bombing hatched outside Nigeria by non Nigerians using some  gullible   unfortunate lost Nigerian boy  to perpetrate their heinous agenda against  other human beings on America soil -  Agreed Majority of those targeted are Americans "

Nigerians do not hate America and its Citizens . I dont know where you get a contrary  impression from and how you can prove it .

Did you gather the news that Farouk muttalab was an emissary of Nigeria ?  Have you seen extermist cases of people trying to bomb American interests such as embassies here in Nigeria even though its well documented that such things do happen in other places and countries ?? It happened in Kenya before (is kenya on terrorism list?) .

How do u arrive at this conclusion that Nigerians hate American citizens and as such they should be placed on the terror watch list?

Talking about oil and what America can do to get it by all means you only need to go back to History ,, and also borrow a leaf from the Iraqi war.  These master divide and rule  tacticians are capable of foiling trouble and causing destabllization to their own advantage .  There are records to prove it .and much of these have been continuously repeated here on this forum and elsewhere .   I don't know  how much of this you are up to date with judging from your comments above .

Some of the conditions they are imposing on Nigeria to facilitate removal from the terror watch l list are things they very  know will result in fratricide and innocent killings in Nigeria  because of the complex Nature of the composition of Nigeria as a Nation besides the prevailing ignorance among the general populace in Nigeria .

So in a way they are trying to take an advantage at our state of development and the volatile nature of our political setup something we inherited from the colonial masters .  You should be Nigerian enough to know all these as you claimed earlier.

Its convenient  for you to sit in some cozy chair outside there several thousand miles away from Nigeria dictating what you want to  see happen to Nigeria  (even disintegration )   through your American plans  because you have no interest to protect here but other patriotic citizens are more concerned .

Again there is  no problem with foreign contributors  looking for attention on these forums provided they keep their contributions worthwhile on sensitive issues that will determine  the very makeup of Nigeria as an entity , otherwise these people  may attact the fury of others  telling them how they feel about them  and their useless or irrelevant  comments .

This is a setback for the country of Nigeria and  the peaceful Citizens of Nigeria.  It is unfortunate that this attempt bombing incident should occur at a time when Nigeria desperately needs to clean its image from frauds and kidnap attempts. I confess that I browsed on some of the past comments and was stunned that some people were actually surprised that Farouk Mutallab’s bomb attempt incident was shocking to the country of Nigeria. WAKE UP people!!! Nigeria is a beloved country but it has been a terrorist country now for some time. It is only getting international attention because of it’s citizen involvement with the US jet. Honestly, have you not heard, read or seen terrorism in action in Nigeria. It does not necessarily mean someone blowing self up. I do not live in Nigeria to know about the terrorism clashes of Extremist Muslim killings of Christians, lootings, burning of churches, houses and businesses known to belong to other people of non Muslims. The Nigerian government failed it’s citizens by not aggressively protecting its citizens from these aggressions; the Muslims community dismissed these early warnings as only extremist youth Muslims angry and the parents of these Extremists looked the other way ignoring these signs so long as their own youths are the ones getting killed on the streets. Farouk Mutallab is the product of those progressive and  ignored warnings of street riots and killings. He grew up and sought after those who think and act like himself who are willing to go further internationally. “What lessons that must be learned from the attempt bombing incident.” I love Nigerian people greatly to want to see Nigerian name and future brighter and better but Nigerians must begin to deal with  the truth and the facts rather than living on denials.   . …. Lucas J.

@ Lucas .
I see you  share on this forum as very brilliant .  what a beautiful Contribution to the topic .  Well done thank you

That is looking at terrorism from another dimension and you are making it clearer .
Initially i couldnt see the connection but you have a great point out there .

The government of Nigeria perhaps wasnt doing much to combat the existing religious extremism which appears to be escalating to higher heights

As Nigerians we will be in good positions to suggest further ideas to help combat these shortcomings .  Thats what democracy is all about and a hidden blessing of this recent sad incident of the farouk muttalab case

Sorry pal
Nigerians at large are peace -loving individuals with great respect for life . if you are following the trends here on this forum and elsewhere you will have noticed fellow Nigerian citizens  outrage against the goon who made the attempt .

Just know this.....it's a fact and whether we like it or not, We rely on the Americans and we'll be in so much shit if we cut ties with them...THAT IS A FACT. It will always be like that until our leaders prove themselves right inside Naija by developing our country. There's so much poverty and corruption and until we take care of that....we will always be at the Americans mercy!!!

God Bless Naija.

Good thoughts we need to look within to clean up that which is holding us back so we can shine more brightly.

While saying that it is also good to realize that in international relations  there are no permanent enemies or permanent  friends but permanent interests . If Americans do not have our interests at heart it might be a good idea to let them know by expressing this through whatever means deemed reasonable for nigeria to protect the interest of her own citizens .  And yes it might call for sacrifice on the path of we Nigerians ourself.

Pretty sad showcase of  neglect and reckless abandon for these poor kids . One would have expected better treatment for kids  in the present millenium despite the Sharia option chosen by most Nothern States of Nigeria .

Where does the education budget for these Northern states put their priority. , or how has the rotatory presidency or past military dictatorships been helpful to the plight of these citizens  , one wonders ?

Very horrific scenes again  typical  of Western propaganda .

Just what they need to convince the world that Nigeria is indeed breeding ground for Terrorists .  Just another Next natural step in their clandestine agenda for Nigeria and its people .

Its worth noting that Farouk Muttalab  the  supposedly  hypnotized  suicide bomber and  other privileged few in the aristocrat  clan do not go this path nevertheless .

farouk muttalab hypnotized Huh?

On Saturday it was reported that a “sharp-dressed man” had escorted Umar Farouk Abdul Mutallab when he boarded Northwest Airlines Flight 253 in Amsterdam. Mutallab was allowed on the plane without a passport. It was later reported that Mutallab seemed to be in a trance.

Maybe the poor guy was hypnotized into his trance state and remotely controlled to carry out the suicidal bomb attack

or just a plane setup a dumb head they can get their hand on to send a message to America or widen the terror state outlook to create more panic and fear also exonerate traditional bomb carriers .  from the incessant rage of America
3317  Forum / Naijapals Base (Metro life) / Re: Is religion evil? on: 8-01-2010 07:51 AM
yes -  i would say   as religion was demonized in certain part of the world at certain times for certain reasons . There may be possible positive and negative  reasons for that  when one looks more closely .

Also  recently people are graduating from religion to spirituality having learnt of thenot only the limitations of religion but also of the  evils that religion can pose .  when wrongly used to discriminate and destroy especially with the emergence of fanatical diehards .

Otherwise .    Some of the civilization we have today might have been darker than the dark ages in the complete absence of Religion  .   Yes it helped for a while   for example in Christianity .

The Mosaic laws God gave through Moses helped keep the order and gave a guidance as to what is expected of the group of people at that time .  Moral standards and all

One thing gives rise to another after outliving its  usefulness .

There are accounts of churches appearing to be packing up in certain parts of the world.  Maybe not completely but the vigour and zeal it used to have are no longer there .  and these are perhaps ominous signs of the times .  !

You are a true patriot .
Some here do not seem to know exactly how a country can  disintegrate into  irreparable fragment .  The Yankees might plan to destabilize us first  before we get our terrorist hands on them . .  that is why they are trying to wrongly label us a terrorist  as a basis for their motive .

Certain questions and comments here are not surprising because when you prod further the owners of those comments have little or nothing to lose with the disintegration of nigeria.   Amazingly some are already advocating for her demise as their myopic  quick solution to our current situation . Cry beloved Country !.

Why r u taking listening nigeria on the terror list as personal issue? America only reacted on the failed terror act. It ´s not an act against each single nigerian, it s internat. politics.  Since long time ur country is not organized and no democracy. Instead to create anger and hatred against america, concentrate what s real going on in ur country and what to do about it.

My answer to you is that :
You need to know the full implications of America's intended action towards Nigeria  before asking your question. Every patriotic Nigerian who is switched on and aware of America's  Global oil gluttony and mastery of "Divide and rule tactics to its egocentric advantage  is concerned " as earlier explained by  Omatu  ...

Quote from: omatu on  8-01-2010 01:00 AM

This terrorism watchlist is simply an attempt to separate Nigeria into at least two countries.  By getting terrorists from the North, you can then separate the South from the North and instigate another civil war fighting for the natural resources while America is the beneficiary that just takes as many tanks of our sweet crude oil without having to pay for it because they will be busy supplying boths sides with military weapons.

Nigerians are people and it is time that Nigerian citizens stands up and defend Nigeria.  Enough is enough.  We are not the only people that commit fraud, mismanagement, bad politicking, terrorism, etc.  This is not a matter of ego and taking issues personal.  This is a matter of honour to stand up for what is right and true.

I will take it personal when somebody comes on this board and disparages Nigerians because they were stupid enough to compromise their email account on a public forum.

True nigerians are worried that Yankees may be having the same plans for nigeria as its already being rumored that the placement on terror watch list has nothing to do with terror itself but their narrow bizness ambitions with Nigeria going awry .
if you are not really a full or true Nigerian you wont get it .

Up till now The Americans are yet to show us the weapons of Mass Destruction they went to Iraq. to find but see how quick their hand was on the trigger .  All they were after was destabilization based on flimsy excuses so they could take control of their target . Not minding how many lives are sacrificed to achieved their selfish ends .
