Forum / Naijapals Base (Metro life) / are idoma and igbo people related? |
on: 28-03-2011 07:27 AM
| ok so this the situation. I met a nigerian at a funeral today. He approached me and asked me my name, and I told him, Ihunayachi Bashari, so he replied, am guessing you must be igbo and a northerner mixture.I say yes, mostly ngwa igbo and hausa. He laughs and says igbo is igbo. I smiled and said i guess so. So after a sec he introduced himself as chinemelu Ezebunnadim. I was like, so you are igbo too, and with a confused look on his face he says no am idoma. I was like what's the difference? And he started telling me this tall tales about how idoma people came from edo and igala people. I was like okayoo. Personally my family is composed of so many tribes, we are not tribal, but we at least acknowledge the different parts of us. So to not argue I accepted his definition of what idoma is. So I asked him to speak his language and to me he was speaking igbo, a dialect of it, just like my ngwa igbo and my kano hausa is different from central hausa. Its so weird, so to native igbo speakers please enlighten me, are idomas related to the igbos, cause it makes no sense that you speak the language share names, and even traditions and yet you say there are no relations.Personally I believe we are all mixed with each other some how..but this guy just looked like i had stoned him by calling him igbo, or at least of having relation to igbos. | | |

| Cooking should be in addition to what you will do for him as i am sure you cook for that man regularly anyways. I will suggest going to the mall and getting him a set of nice dress shirt and tie with a JOOP or CHROME cologne. And put it on him later on that night...Lay him on that bed and take control. be on top all night long. That man will never leave you for another woman afterwards.
lmao, you are definately a typical man. I have only cooked for him twice and he has been asking me to make those dishes, but we live in two different states so its hard to be flying across country to be throwing down in the kitchen, you know so i thought it will be special if i made one or both the dishes..whatcha think?

Forum / Relationships & Romance / what do give to a man that has everything? |
on: 27-03-2011 01:52 AM
| ok am back again. So the guy am dating's birthday is coming up in a few months. Am leaving the country for work in a few weeks and ill be gone till august, which means ill miss his bday.I want to give him a good bday present that money cannot buy. basically priceless.I was thinking of cooking some egusi soup with pouned yam with ero(his favorite dish) with asam, and beef meat, with ayakata, calabar/ igbo style, no tomatoes, but traditional igbo style. Or make him coconut rice and baked meat, with agidi, or moi moi. Basically the only way I know to show love is by cooking, and given him the occasional back massage. Any suggestion of what will blow his mind?Men any suggestion, ladies any? | | |

| ok here is my situation. I am dating this nfl star. His of nigerian descent, seems like every girl wants him. Well we just been dating for 3 months, i say dating because even though the family calls me his girlfriend, i feel there is so much i need to learn and get to know about this guy. Personally when i call someone my boyfriend that means i see myself marrying this man. I have been screwed over by my last two boyfriends. Its not because am ugly or anything, it just seems to me that these guys wanted me for my body and how i made them look with their friends. And when i refused to sleep with them, they found closure with some of my closet slut friends. But this guy is different, at least i hope. When he approached me he told me that he loves my attitude towards life, and that character to him is the beauty of a woman. No man has ever seen the intelligent me, without chasing me for my body. I havent slept with this guy in the three months we've been dating and his never disrespected me. To me he seems like my dream guy, but dreams always turn into nightmares for me when it comes to guys, especially when they meet my female friends. Am darker than all my girlfriends and it seems that most of the guys i date ended up chasing my fair friends who gave them sex over me. I have some triffling girls as friends and they want to meet him. I prefer to live a private life and i dont want any rumors spreading about us and i know some of my friends would do whatever to get what they want. Anyways this guy is worth millions, and personally i dont go after guys for their money, but it seems like they are drawn to me. Only my immediate family knows him, but all my girlfriends wants to meet him. He recently bought me a car for my bday and i declined it. He got angry and told me i should stop playing miss independent. I personally hate taking expensive gifts from people, especially men who are not in my family. I prefer to be the giver than the receive. anyways he sent me chocolates yesterday at work, and he stupidly put his full name on the note, and i didnt realize there was a note attached until i went to lunch with one of my triffling friends and she asked for some of the chocolates and i willingly gave the whole box to her, and for some reason the note was under the chocolate box and she saw the name. she started screaming with joy, and now she wants me to get her a autograph and tickets from him, and am i feel like choking her. I told him what happened and he said he doesnt care if she puts it out there, but i do. I dont want my life to be open to the public just because of whom am dating. So my problem is how do i go about dealing with this girl.Or am i being insecure. Am 5'8 shaped like a coke bottle, with pretty face, but i always feel that these guys end up cheating with my friends over me, because of my complexion. So any advice, am i being insecure? | | |

Forum / Relationships & Romance / Re: Women keeping their maiden names after marriage (Direspectful?) |
on: 21-03-2011 08:01 PM
| I and my friend was talking this morning and we argued about dis topic. He said it is disrespectful of any wife 2 keep her maiden name after marriage. He said the woman belongs 2 d man & should bear d man's name. What do u guys feel abt dis?
i know what you mean. my sisters married but kept their surname as a middle name, so for example, itohan bassey, becomes itohan bassey-uche. Its important as far as am concerned for kids to have both father and mother's name, because after all they belong to two family coming together. I know definately the guy am dating now if i marry him i immediately take his title as doctor.... so it become Dr. Mrs.......phd, and if he wants he can attach my phd to his name too, so it becomes dr.....engr.phd. At least thats what the law in the state i live in says. If we divorce he can no longer attach my accomplishments to his name, and me vice versa. oh yeah i wont mind keeping his name, because our last name is the same lol, but we are not related...at alll

| ummm is it me. or is this poster trying to tell us he like men, and not women. O boy, its modern age, we no go judge, if you want men as lovers just say so, and stop all this arabanko. any ways for your information you genralize too much. I for one make all the money in my relationship and two months ago i dumped the gold digger idiotic nigerian boy. Can you believe that this guy cheated on me, just because i told him no bum bum till marriage...rubbish and on top of that he says that I needed to let him take money from my account. First of all laziness will kill some men, especially naija men. so poster if the girls you date play you, thats your fault, you pick the wrong ones, and am glad they play you;but dont sit there saying all nigerian babes are complicated. Its like african americans saying that black women are too difficult, if you dont like us, carry go jor. There other girls you can date from other countries. They say one never knows what they have until its gone.only a man meant for a specific woman can handle her, ho ha. Nowadays it seems like some of you men are looking for village girls that will answer you yes sir, when sir,how sir.. I beg wake up. In naija alone women are the most hard working and educated, so when it comes to the player game, remember anything you can do , we women can do waaaaaaaaay better. Oya little boy( thats what you are, because a grown man wouldn't write this nonsense), go find gay club and come out the closet. I just hope you no be the only son of your mama and papa.
First of all the poster is not gay and i hate -ve women like you You can take your feminist theory out the back door!!! Am sure you belittled the guy you claimed cheated on you.You must have kept him as your tool thinking he's a fool and he had to show you he's not. Don't come and tell a one sided story on this forum and expect to draw sympathy!!! Men are very hardworking and they do all the think tank. All you women do is lay back and look for what to get or benefit!!! calling the writer a little boy fully portrays how you treated your EX. Women think its all about them, FYI its not. men what a mutualistic relationship but chauvinistic and feminitic women like you who are looking for a way to dictate to your men hide under such canopy of lies that you feed to your disillusioned head!!! If you know you are a domineering woman and can handle the thought of your man in control as the head of the family, you can better of switch to a LEZ instead of practicing FEMDOM( female domination) wait a minute dr.wiz or what ever, see you and your downlow friend wants to generalize when talking about women. Its obvious you dont have respect for women. yes i am a feminist and so what. YOU came from a woman...raised by a woman, believe me wiz without women men are nothing, just empty buckets. mtcheww anyways, learn to respect the women you see around you, then perhaps God will send a girl made especially for you, not every woman is for you. And second of all i never implied, unlike your friends that i hate every man. no i said "some", the operative word being "some." I respect men who respect me, but one thing i wont tolerate is for a man to think that a woman of my caliber will bow to his every wish, and when i dont that he can cheat on me and come back and receive forgiveness, hhahaha, some men are just perfect idiots like that, with their brain trapped between their legs. so dr. wiz, if its the sickness of being followers of the idiot poster that you have go find a doctor fast, because you are following this your friend blindly.

Funichi, do me a favour of going through that your post again. Its not logical-did you see anywhere where i said i am a gay? I have said it again and again, a learned person will never insult someone but present her argument in a logical manner. Little wonder the rate of single gurls is on the increase. If they continue like this, they will soon realize in the future that all this shakara here and there is a waste of their precious time
Funichi darling, time will tell! o boy i hope no be me you dey form this kind vexation,no make i ram you one computer dirty slap. abi i look like the blind gals that do charity for you by taking your money and leaving you. Hmmm no vex meooo. I just gave my opinion just like you did. all i did was deductive reasoning from what you wrote. so before me and you go jump into trouser leg for computer, make you take time and find out who i am...okay dear ... deuces..

| a lot of african kids today forget that in our culture we take care of our parents in old age, no matter how they have wronged us. It is our duty, we are not westerners, we are africans, and our elders, our parents are our foundations which we must try to protect and maintain, even if you have 1 kobo in the bank. | | | |
