There is no proof that when women earns more than their  husbands, they
start doing "stupid" things. That is totally false. The truth is that most women
who make more than their husbands never change. They are still respectful
and encouraging to their husbands.
Husbands are the ones that feel the pressure to be the provider for the family.
In some cases, the less income husband feel inferior to his wife and blames
his feelings of discomfort on the wife. He forgets that the situation is temporary.

FOR GROSS INCOMPETENCE

Thank you Osarobo for an honest post. I am with you on this one. The
Hajj Commission is just not telling the truth. The commission explanation is
very different from that told by the victims and newspaper reports as well as
reports by Al-jazeera News Service.
The commission might just be trying to save face and also prevent the
Federal Government from investigating the whole mess.
You are right my Osaboro, the Hajj Commission is grossly incompetent.

GROSS INJUSTICE

This development is very troubling. I do not think the public are being told
the whole truth. Someone need to tell or explain to those women the real
reason why they were not allowed to perform the pilgrimage.
I have a few questions for those who took money from these women
to help them with plans for the trip.
1) Did they not know that women must be follewd by a male?
2) Was this a new rule? Why were they women not told before they
left Nigeria?
3) Are women from other nations treated this way? I know of women from
Pakistan and Malaysia who went in women only groups.
4) Will these women get a refund for their expenses?
I think the Federal Gov't need to investigate this injustice.

What this guy said does not warrant him to be beheaded. Look Nigerians are being deported from everywhere. This can happen to any group of Nigerians Christians, Muslims etc… You cannot be confrontational based on what was said that is questioning the authorities.

Thank you papadip for your comment. FinlandGuy is so full of hate that he attacks me anytime
he sees my posts. It appears that he does not bother to read them before commenting. I do not
hate Ibos, infact I have very many friends who are Ibos just like my father. I was born and raised

here will lead him into trouble in the future. Nothing good comes out of deeply felt hatred.
I am tempted to suggest that he is in pain and there must be something in his past that made

Nigerians will from henceforth have difficulties in that community.
He was not using his brain because there are so many willing

Pls can someone define or explain it to us?
To my own understanding, prostitute is any woman that exchanges her privacy (segxwal) for money.
If u agree with me, what will u call the so called girl friends that are practicing NO MONEY NO LOVE?

A very difficult question.
Prostitute is not gender specific. Men can be prostitues too.
You have heard of ladyboys, male-prostitutes and gigolos or kept-men.
Now to the main question: Who is a prostitute?
Women: Any woman who is paid for sex either with money, gifts or rewards.
1)The street prostitute get paid right away in cash.
2)The university part-time student prostitute gets good grades, money or cars.
Some get to take a sex-trip with their married boyfriends to UK for weekend.
They get money and a shopping spree.
3) The office prostitute sleeps with the boss to get promotion or keep her job
4) The church choir girls sleeps with the pastor for support and other reasons.
Men: They do it for the money because they cannot find a job.

Quote from: lawsonkc on  3-01-2009 09:48 PM
The problem is just the name to it. If we fall in love with her without knowing she is, we will marry her but when the news breaks;it is very difficult to bear. And if we know before talking of marriage, few continues and many separate. As for me, we do change. So I can have one as a wife if I strongly love her and wants her to change.
Most of them (prost) don't want to change after marriage because what they had swallow is so much that their husband is not enough for them.this makes the issue painful to men and they hardly take one as a wife.
 Roll Eyes

An honest response. Usually, women do not tell all their pasts to the men they
are getting to. So many women especially on university campuses, have at one
time or the other trade sex for money or grades. They will never tell their
prospective husbands about these blemishes on their pasts.
So men before you say NO, just pray you were not one of those that are in the dark..

That's like asking 'what is the real menace to health? mosquitoes or the malaria that they cause?' Prostitutes are a product of a Society that does not take care of its citizens needs and they have to use socially questionable means of earning a living. Some girls sell themselves as a last resort to getting their 'daily bread'. The clients use them as a short cut as they cannot endure rigors needed in a relationship before they made love. Technically, none are to blame. This is a phenomenon that has been touted as the oldest profession of time besides farming so I think it would take more than just harsh criticism to solve the problem. I never judge a man's way of life before I know what I would have done in his shoes.

Thank you katung44 for a great post. You really understood the plights
of these women. Women do not want to be a prostitutes. Situations
or conditions beyond their control force them to be out there selling their
bodies.
Nigeria does not have safety nets to help women that suddenly find
themselves in horrible conditions. Examples include widows, adults with
no skills to earn a living, and also working poor.
Working poor make up a sizeable percent of prostitutes. These are people
who have work but do not make enough to feed themselves or pay all thair bills.
They also include those that are forced to have sex with their managers in
order to keep their jobs. With little help, majority will quit prostitution.

This is unimaginable! I have been hearing this kind of new but never believed it, Hmmm. Could this be another method of the terrorist Boko haram, to kill innocent people? Last week an Hausa guy was caught in Abuja(Usman Inuwa http://www.punchng.com/metro/dead-child-found-in-mans-suitcase/ ) with a dead baby in his suitcase on his way to meet his Alhaji masters & now this. Those of you supporting evil should go on, but one thing is certain; Occurence like this will definitely affect other genuine business men, When people stop buying from Hausa trader, na that time eye go clear.

These two news focus on Hausa men who committed horrible crimes.
Should we comdemn all Hausa men because of these two criminals?
My answer is NO. They committed the crimes, they alone should be
persecuted not the whole tribe. I feel ashame that they are Nigerians not
because they are Hausas.
Every tribe in Nigeria have their own share of criminals. I have nor seen
or heard of any tribe in Nigeria that is crime free, so please do not
generalized by saying all Hausas are criminals.
Thank you.

GOVERNMENT'S FAILURE TO PROVIDE FOR  FOOD SAFETY

This is another example of government (Federal, State and local) failure to regulate or monitor
food safety in the nation. In developed countries, there are Food Administration agencies that
make and enforce laws to ensure food safety for the population.
Go to any open market and you will see all types of food in unsanitary conditions on display
for sales. Poor consumers eat them and end up falling sick.
This man is accused of selling vulture meat for public consumption. Well, I do not know if the
government have any law against that. If there are laws, they are possibly not enforced.
My suggestion here is NOT a support for the man but an attempt to motivete the public and
government to make laws to ensure that the food we consume is safe.

I was very disturbed when I read this story. Reason is that it shows
how far people will go to get others they do not like or hate in trouble.
This case has generated lots of outcry from people all over the world.
A young girl 14 y/o is accuse of burning the Holy Qur'an, a blasphemy
and crime punishable by death in Pakistan. It was obvious the girl was
framed by people who wanted to drive her small christians community
out of a muslim neighborhood.
The plan was working till a muslim man came forward and told the truth.
The truth was that a cleric had planted the evidence to frame the girl.

This atory is relevant because a similar incidence has happened here in Nigeria.
We as Nigerians have to learn to do two things:

1) Pause and think about what we hear, wait for all the evidence before
    we make judgements.
2) Learn to live together regardless of tribes, religion, gender and wealth.

Have a happy day everyone.

Asian nations made drug trafficking a crime punishable by death mainly to
discourage that type of crime. Most nationalities are discouraged by the
harsh penalty except for Nigerians.
Nigerians are so GREEDY, they continue to traffick in drugs and continue
to get the death penalty. Majority of foreigners in jail in Asia that are on death
roll are Nigerians. They thought they will never get caught.
I have no sympathy for any of them. None whatsoever.
