I am flabbergasted if not bamboozled' at Pastor Bakare's impression and commentory towards President Goodluck Jonathan and his wife Patience. If autonomy is the answer to the on going devastating menace in the country, I think anyone who claims wisdom, let alone
preachers of God's ministry, should be the ones to welcome the idea.

The Ogoni's have every right to claim a republic if they chose, since the central body has brought nothing but disadvantages to the people of ogoni and pains to Nigerians. For fairness" it's good news, time to look beyond Oil & gas, to concentrate on other aspects of life and developement.

I personally welcome and encourage other ethnic groups to follow similar action.

All life is a series of interconnected wheels.
We don’t live in a vacuum, each of our thoughts, words and action cause equal and opposite reactions in ourselves, others and our universe.
I can take you into past lives, and I can show you the future if needed. But these things are not as important as showing you how to live in the present.

Metaphysics as a branch of philosophy, abide by proven spiritual laws and reality, while Astrophysics deals with natural laws of physics.
Different directions, one cannot out rule the other. Both are forms of science with abiding rules.

Since we cannot define the size of the universe which is expanding at the speed of light, it becomes imperative to tag assumptions on four percent, four percent of what? four percent of X, which remains unknown.

Until then, it would be perhaps more appropriate to say that in the world of matter, space and time,
Science remains inevitable to mankind while the search for absolute knowledge continues.

Every state should bring a representative with a mandate to arrest all those that have been in power from the end of the civil war till date, no exception.

All assets reprimanded and accounts frozen, including foreign accounts. Their families should never hold any government position in Nigeria again.
All cabals should be arrested in the interest of the nation.  No one is above the law.
We need to restore order, to see more sacrifices for Nigeria, not just asking for power.

It is not for you. The guy whoever he is tried to communicate something and he communicated it (even though not in appropriate style) but his intention was to communicate and he did it. So you cannot call him illiterate because he wrote something and he still can read something. This is clearly Hausa style English probably written by a Hausa guy.

There are those who don't give a shit to their language because up till to day, they are copying other people. These are called IGBOS. I cannot blame them because they did not have a single Igbo dialect. They have more than five different dialects so how can someone who belongs there could write in his mother tongue. Among the three major ethnic groups we have in Nigeria they are the most inferior, the most backward ethnic group. Why because they are not proud of what they are, they sideline their culture, customs and norms, the reason which I don't know.

The guy who wrote this must be a Hausa (man or woman) but he did it in his mother tongue because he is proud of what he is. That is what makes us superior in the WHOLE WEST AFRICA. Hausa is the most used/spoken language in the whole WEST AFRICA. Be proud of what you are then other people will like it. I could remember many seminars that were held based on the complaints that IGBO LANGUAGE is vanishing because the average igbo man is not speaking igbo or teaching his son how to speak the language. That means they are not proud of what they are and they hate their mother tongue.

Let me give two examples here.

1.  Africa Magic shows films in three languages, English, Hausa and Yoruba....WHY NOT IGBO?

BBC world every blessing day broadcast programmes in Language for good two hours. They even have studio in Abuja where the programs are being broadcasted and their old studio in Bush House, London is still being used to broadcast programs in Hausa every day. FOR YOUR INFORMATION, BBC HAUSA have more than fifty (50) years history.

Here is the link to BBC Hausa Website from where you can listen to Hausa programs live. These are: Shirin safe, shirin hantsi, shirin rana and shirin marece: http://www.bbc.co.uk/hausa/

VOA (Voice of America) broadcasts programs from the UNITED STATES four times a day, 30 minutes each time which makes it two (2) hours every blessing day. Here is the link: http://www.voanews.com/hausa/news/

Deutsch Welle Radio broadcasts its programs from Germany for two and a half hours every day.
The link is here: http://www.dw.de/dw/0,,11605,00.html

Radio France is not left behind, as it broadcasts its programs in Hausa every day. See: http://www.hausa.rfi.fr/

China broadcasts their programs in Hausa just as other radio stations in europe: http://hausa.cri.cn/

Iran is not left behind: http://hausa.irib.ir/

Why did these countries recognised Hausa and decided to broadcast their program in it?  Because we accept our mother tongue and are proud of it to the extent of others accepting it throughout Africa.

Written by Mark Amaza  Friday, April 13, 2012

THE general belief held by most southerners about the North is that the region is not just mainly Muslim, but wholly Muslim. Whenever I meet someone from the South and introduce myself, I am correctly placed as a Christian. But once I am asked my state and I say Borno State, the next question becomes, 'Are you a Muslim?' This is despite my name being a very common Biblical name, Mark, which is the second Gospel. Matter of fact, I have been asked that question while attending a church programme, with a Bible conspicuously held in my hands. You could imagine my surprise at that question. This has also been the experience of a lot of friends with common names such as 'Emmanuel', 'Daniel', etc.

To start with, out of the 19 Northern states, at least five have a majority Christian population: Plateau, Adamawa, Nassarawa, Taraba and Benue. At least six more have at least 40 per cent Christian population. These states include Niger, Gombe, Kaduna, Kogi, Kwara and either Borno or Bauchi. That then leaves only Kano, Kebbi, Katsina, Jigawa, Sokoto, Yobe and Zamfara as having Muslim populations above 60 per cent. How then are we all seen as Muslims? This misconception could be excused when the person has an Arabic name, as there are many Northern Christians who bear names such as Jamila, Habiba, Halima, Sadiq, and Yunusa and so on. But when the person has an obvious Christian name and is even attends church services, you really begin to wonder.

Another common perception of the North is that we are all Hausa. My usual response to this is to borrow the logical argument of Simon Kolawole, the Editor-in-Chief of THISDay Newspapers. In an article in which he attempted to educate his largely southern readership base about the North, he went thus:

"If out of the estimated 250 tribes in Nigeria, we can say that the South-West is mainly Yoruba with a few other tribes around Badagry area, the South-East wholly Igbo and the South-South being most diverse in the South with about 40 tribes, that still leaves the remaining 200 tribes in the North."

How then are we reduced to one single ethnic group, Hausa? It is only the North-West that is close to being homogenous, mainly Hausa and Fulani, but with still some minority tribes in the Zuru area of Kebbi State and the multi-diverse Southern Kaduna. The North-East and North-Central is filled with tribes, many of whom I have never even heard of. For example, Adamawa State is so diverse that the largest ethnic group, the Fulani, is just three per cent of the entire population. In my home state of Borno, there is a local government so diverse that from one village to another, you are likely to meet an entirely different ethnic group. The number of tribes there are so many that we just address the people as 'Gwoza people', after the name of the local government.

Even though we all speak Hausa as a lingua franca in order to communicate amongst ourselves as trading partners over the centuries, that doesn't make us Hausa people as much as communicating English doesn't make you and I English people. As a matter of fact, in the North-East, Hausa people are a minority and virtually non-existent in the North-Central region.

Now, this is one belief that whenever I am confronted with, it takes me a great deal of self-control not to flip out and lose my temper.

Times without number, when I tell people I am from Borno State, I am asked how come I speak such good English. What the hell? What am I supposed to speak? Arabic? The general expectation is that someone from the North is not supposed to be this learned, this well-spoken and articulate in English, this knowledgeable. I remember when a friend asked me if my mother went to school, and the surprised look on his face when I told him that my mum earned her masters' degree over 20 years ago. There was also a time when my dad met someone at the Lagos International Airport and they got talking. When my dad told him his profession, the man, in a fit of surprise, exclaimed, 'I didn't know that there were professors in the North'.

I admit the fact that the North lags behind the South educationally, especially the North-West and the North-East. But this is not due to our inability to comprehend what we are being taught, but rather due to the incompetence of leadership in the region to give education its premium importance as a form of human development. We, like every other human being on the face of this earth, can excel when given the opportunity.Talent and intellect abounds everywhere. Opportunity, however, does not.I personally know of many northerners who have excelled nationally and internationally. Daily, the story of young men like Ahmed Mukoshy, who is born, bred and schooled in Sokoto, and yet, rose above his environment to become one of the emerging forces in IT in this country in his early 20s inspires me. This is just one example among many that I could cite but for the lack of space.

I find it outright disgusting whenever people claim that if not for federal character and 'zoning', no northerner would be able to compete in this country. Last week, I was shocked when a friend said only 10 per cent of northerners in the Federal Civil Service deserved their places on merit, and went on to add that if he had not known me personally and I were to get a job with the Federal Government, he would believe that I did not earn it on merit.

The most ridiculous one I encountered was when earlier this year, former Minister of Finance, Dr Mansur Mukhtar was appointed a World Bank director. Most of the commentators on the 234Next article announcing this achievement for this Nigerian and Nigeria made the ludicrous assertion that the appointment was done to please the North, that Dr Mukhtar did not merit it. Little did they know that Dr Mukhtar had worked at the World Bank and the African Development Bank, prior to his heading Nigeria's Budget Office on the invitation of the then and present Minister of Finance, Dr Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala and former World Bank Managing Director, who also recommended him for the post of Finance Minister when she rejected former President Umaru Yar'adua's invitation to join his government. What is even worse is that they did not care to know: their minds were already made up and could not be confused with the facts.

Another common belief among southerners and most especially spread by southern newspapers is that the entire 19 Northern states act and think as one when it comes to issues of Northern politics. This is one of the biggest untruths about the North. Whenever northern Nigeria is mentioned, the people of Benue, Kogi and Kwara states do not feel it refers to them. Geographically, they are part of the North; politically, however, they and the entire Middle-Belt act independently. This can be clearly in the last elections where President Goodluck Jonathan won in 7 Northern states, even against his strongest opponent, General Muhammadu Buhari, who is a northerner. This was something I am sure a lot of people in the South, save for the political savvy, did not see coming.

One common sight of this perception being entrenched by newspapers is when politicians of Northern extraction speak on national issues. I have innumerably seen a washed-out Northern politician, without any influence or popularity speak regarding an issue, and the next day, newspapers carry bold headlines saying, 'North rejects this' or 'North plans to do that', quoting the same washed-out politician as speaking for the entire North. I have rarely seen a Bola Tinubu speaking and being quoted as the mouthpiece of the entire Yoruba ethnic group, or a Chief Edwin Clark for the Ijaw people. Methinks this is a way of selling newspapers by capitalizing on the image of the North as one single, political force which moves in a particular direction all-together

Admittedly, as people of the same region, we share a lot in common culturally and socially in the general terms: our mannerisms, modes of dressing, traditional titles (apart from paramount rulers with the exception of emirates), etc. Despite that, the Jukun in Taraba and the Kataf in Kaduna are very different in the specifics, as even the Bura and Marghi people of Borno/Adamawa States. To pick the attitude of one ethnic group in the North and attach it to all the others, is to put it mildly, a very short-sighted way of knowing and understanding the people of Northern Nigeria.

Another belief in the South is that the entire North is but an empty landmass with nothing but trees.I remember the controversy of the 2006 census when Kano State was said to have a slightly higher population than Lagos State. Many of my southern friends called it 'an impossibility'. In the words of one of them, 'Lagos is so populated that when you throw grains of rice into the air, they wouldn't land on the ground, but on people'. However, they all forgot to factor in land mass, because Lagos State is a much smaller state than Kano State, and hence has the highest population density in Nigeria, hence making it look as though it was way more populated.

Amaza, a public affairs commentator, lives in Kaduna.

Can you imagine?

Salaam (Hello) ....,

Do you know why Islam is so scarcely to me? So here is a quick list why:

1.    Did you know the moon-god was called "Sin" in ancient Babylon. In Arabia the moon god was called "Al-llah". Later they shortened this to the present day "Allah". The moon god was the center of pagan worship and ruled over the 360 idol gods in Mecca's Kaaba. Three of these other gods were Allah's daughters: al-Uzza, al-Lat, and Manah. (Will Durant, The Story of Civilization, IV:160-161). Moreover the Encyclopedia Britannica's section on "Pre-Islamic" says, "'Allah' was the moon god, the consort of the sun goddess, and father of a number of female deities, al-Lat, al-Uzza, and Manat, whose worship forms a principle feature of the religion of Muhammad's home town of Mecca. Muhammad's father was named Abd-Allah, and his uncle Obied-Allah. The Allah idol was kept in the Kabah temple in Mecca so that it was therefore in that direction the idolaters prayed, and its symbol was the crescent moon. These practices are still part of Allah worship today". Will Durant, the great historian, said Allah was an idol god worshipped by Arabs long before there was an Islamic religion: "Within the Kaaba, in pre-Moslem days, were several idols representing gods. One was called Allah ... three others were Allah's daughters, al-Uzza, al-Lat, and Manah. ..."

2.    "When the first copy of the Koran was written out and presented to [the khalif] Othman Ibn Affan, he said: There are faults of language in it, and let the Arabs of the desert rectify them with their tongues" (Biographical Dictionary, Ibn Khallikan, p. 401). After Muhammad's death the Koran had to be put together from fragmentary remains and conflicting memory. This was done by the Caliph Uthman who chose what would be go into the Koran. He ordered all other versions of the Koran to be burned on threats of death. (Sahih Bukhari, Vol. 6, #510, p. 479: Ulum, p.52f). The Shiites, a large segment of Islam, claims Uthman left out a fourth of the text for political reasons (McClintock and Strong, Cyclopedia, V: 152).

3.    Did you know that Muhammad said some of the Koran was given to him by Satan?? ["Sura" is the word for "Chapter" in the Koran]. Sura 53:19-23 of the Koran says, "Do you see Al-Lat and Al-Ozza, And Manat the third idol besides? What? shall ye have male progeny and God female? This were indeed an unfair partition! These are mere names: ye and your fathers named them thus: God hath not sent down any warranty in their regard." When Muhammad was asked why he taught these three moon goddesses without complaint, he said the devil had confessed him and called these the "Satanic Verses".

4.    Did you know that lying is not evil when it is an advantage to Islam? Sura 24:11 of the The Koran says, "Of a truth, they who advanced that lie were a large number of you; but regard it not as an evil to you. No, it is an advantage to you." This is why Muslims will stand up and tell you "Islam mean peace,' when it actually means "surrender". They are assured it is not evil to say the Koran is against war and killing. Otherwise why would Sura 47:4 of the Koran says, "When ye encounter the infidels (unbelievers), strike off their heads till ye have made a great slaughter among them, and of the rest make fast the fetters." and Sura 9:123 of the Koran says, "Believers! wage war against such of the infidels as are your neighbors, and let them find you rigorous."

5.    The Koran contradiction itself. Here are two examples, eventho there are many others examples:
    (a) For example, it has six contradictory accounts of what man was made from. In Sura 3:59, 30:20, and 35:11, it says that Adam was created out of dust. Then in Sura 21:30, it says, "By means of water we gave life to everything", and Sura 25:54 says, "And it is He who hath created man of water". Then in Sura 96:1 it says, "Thy Lord who created, Created man from CLOTS OF BLOOD". Then in Sura 15:26, it says, "We created man of dry clay". Then in Sura 11:61 it says, "He hath raised you up out of the earth". Finally, in Sura 16:4 and 75:37 it says, "Man hath He created from a moist germ".
    (b) Furthermore, another example is about Noah's son. In Sura 11:42-43 it says that Noah's son was among the drowned. Then in Sura 21:76 and 37:77 it says that Noah and his whole family was delivered safely from the flood.

6.    Yet the biggest reason that I fear Islamic is because according to the Koran what God require for salvation are performing more good deeds than bad and by killing or being killed fighting for Allah. In Sura 7:8-9 and 21:47 it says that Allah saves those whose good deeds outweigh their bad deeds. Then in Sura 4:74 and 47:4-6 it says that fighting for Allah absolutely assures you 100% of Paradise, whether you kill or are killed.

Therefore, I am happy that I have chosen to believe the Bible and ask the Lord who loves us and died for us to forgive me, and become my personal Lord and Savior. Then we can claim this promise: Romans 10:23, "For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord Jesus Christ shall be saved".

Not more than 6,000 Nigerians are serving various jail terms for drug-related offences abroad, the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) has said. According to the NDLEA, Nigeria is the only African country with such a frightening figure.

The agency said that the figure may be higher as the available data could not be said to be totally exhaustive. NDLEA Director General, Mr. Femi Ajayi, told the House of Representatives Committee on Diaspora Matters that Iran has 4,000 inmates, Brazil 500, Thailand 500 and Malaysia 300.

He said: "The bulk of those caught for drug-related offences outside the country were from the South-East with majority coming from Anambra State. "I do not know what we can do to the upsurge of our brothers from the South East-who indulges in this kind of business.

Can you believe that of the 500 Nigerians in Thailand prisons, 480 of them are from the South-East and 450 from the figure are from Anambra State".

Ajayi, however, decried lack of adequate funding of the agency's activities, adding that the development has had negative impact on its ability to fight drug trafficking.

Bros, I salut ooo,
you know' I never want to attack the yoruba, but this back biting is becoming too much. I kept quiet on them for some reasons, but if they provoke my patience, I will reduce them to the level they belong. We fought war on two fronts before, so it is not a new thing!
They better be warned.
