2  Forum / Education / JAMB Restricts South’East Universities from UTME. on: 24-12-2010 06:23 PM
The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board has suspended admission into state-owned universities in the South-East for the 2011/2012 session, following the prolonged strike by their lecturers.
The Registrar of JAMB, Prof. Dibu Ojerinde, stated this to the News Agency of Nigeria on Wednesday in Lagos.
Ojerinde also said the affected institutions had been deleted from the website of JAMB.
He said the decision was as a result of the protracted face-off between the institutions’ lecturers and their employers – the governments of Abia, Anambra, Ebonyi, Enugu and Imo states.

NAN reports that the affected institutions have been closed for over three months due to disagreements between the lecturers and the state governments over the non-implementation of the enhanced lecturers’ pay approved by the Federal Government.
“There will be no admission in the schools for the 2011/2012 session. The factions in the strike should think of the implications of their actions on innocent students.
“They should resolve the strike and open the schools without further delay.

“This is a sad development and the issue must be addressed urgently by the stakeholders .The future of the students must be considered,” he noted.
However, attempts to get the response of the National President of the Academic Staff Union of Universities, Prof. Ukachukwu Awuzie, failed as calls to his mobile phone number did not go through.

4  Forum / Technology / Amazing six-wheel supercar debuts on: 21-12-2010 08:33 PM
An Italian company called Covini has revealed a peculiar six-wheeled supercar.
Despite its obscure looks, the Covini CV6 isn't the first high performance car with six wheels. The Tyrell P34 Formula One racer and the Panther 6 of the 1970s pipped Covini to the post.
Thanks to a partnership with industrial digger builder PMI, the CV6 is already being offered to interested (and wealthy) customers. It's an impressive effort, too - on paper at least. It's powered by a 440bhp 4.2-litre V8 taken from the Audi R8, which is mounted behind the driver and sends power to the rear wheels only. Covini claims that the extra pair of wheels at the front make the CV6 handle and stop more effectively than a normal four-wheeled car.

Other benefits include greater comfort and less risk if one of the tyres blows out suddenly.
However, the technical complexity of managing six wheels has always made such a car very tricky to produce. As a result, the CV6 won't come cheap - the price is rumoured to be around €300,000 (£250,000). The body has scissor-style doors and is made of carbon fibre and fibreglass, so it's light, weighing in at just over a tonne. There's no word on performance yet, but we'd expect a 0-62mph time of well under five seconds and a top speed of at least 180mph.
5  Forum / Relationships & Romance / 9 Dating Questions Men Are Dying To Ask on: 20-12-2010 12:05 PM
There are a couple of questions men are desperately dying to ask their women but it’s not so easy to just spill them out; you never know the kind of reaction an innocent question might trigger; something as simple as, ‘why do you have stretch marks all over your bum?’ Can trigger a no-sex-for-one-year response, so guys are careful.
I took the liberty to ask 9 guys just what they’d like to ask their women if it came with no repercussion; and I, as the female representative, gave freely the answers. You might find them controversial; but anyway here they are…

Q: Why do women wear heels so high they can barely walk in them?
A: I know you’ve seen women fall flat on their nose because they had four-inch heels on their soles. Nevertheless, high heels do make a woman more attractive. Her legs look longer, her strides are classier which would also aid the wriggle of her hips. See? A pair of heels has the ability to accentuate the female form causing the back to arch and pushing her bosom forward. Women feel sexy on heels. It gets her noticed because it takes her inches taller, and men love the exaggerated form of a woman, so it works. Heels elongate the legs, straighten the posture (thus pushing out the chest) and lift the bum.
In the fashion industry, when they say, ‘a woman can leave her house only in high heels,’ it translates to the fact that a pair of nice heels can save a woman’s look. She can put on just about anything, but with the right heels (and bag) she is transformed, miraculously!
Nobody said fashion would be easy, but it’s a lot of fun! Fine, we all know that high heels are very uncomfortable; they kill the ankle and leave you with an aching back! But who cares, as long as it makes you a sexy kitten for the hour, it’s fine!

Why does the average girl think I have to be grateful for sex? Don’t women enjoy sex too?
The brother disappearing after sex is so typical that it makes no headline anymore. Yes we do enjoy sex; however your attitude towards it elicits our detachment. Very often men walk out of a relationship after ‘a few sex’ (I know the guys would like an extensive talk on how untrue this is, but let’s leave that for another day), so that keeps the woman wary. She isn’t so sure if she should give in, even when she is dying to, because she’s afraid of losing you too soon; losing the sparks that come with your voice, afraid that the twinkle in your eyes will fade away, that you wouldn’t call as often as you normally would. So when she gives in, even though she is a willing participant, she is counting down to doom’s day – when it will come back and hit her right on the ass!
As women, we always believe a man’s desire is premature – he wants the sex before even getting to know your last name! On the reverse women want to know every single little detail about you before ‘getting down’.

Why do women wear too much makeup?
Apart from the many masquerades around with conflicting colours in and around the face; women wear makeup to feel sexy and look more attractive and feminine. Make up enhances our features, and we tend to hide some of the features that we find unappealing with makeup. Women express themselves through makeup; like high heels, it makes us more confident. Lines and wrinkles can be hidden temporarily with makeup; blemishes can disappear after applying makeup. So yes, we do feel a whole lot comfortable with some foundation and a dab of lip gloss.

Why oh why does a girl say ‘no’ when she really wants to scream ‘yes’?
It’s all in the chase, dude! You are the hunter and we are the elegant deer, see? It is a little too boring when she pops an excited ‘yes’ after the first date. So we go round in circles, until you ask and ask and bite your tongue! You might not know this, but deep down you love the chase, the thrill of the uncertain – whether you’ll get her or not, it’s almost orgasmic! So we do the whole hard-to-get for your own excitement (since we know you like the suspense). No man likes it easy; the whole exercise is lacklustre when it comes in a tray.
PS: but we do know the rules have changed! The era has brought with it a different set of rules. Women have the power now to do whatever you think was impossible a decade ago; like walk up to a guy at a bar and tell him just how much she’d like to give him a massage – tonight! Heehee!

Why are pretty girls dumb?
Beauty with intelligence is rare. There’s a wide gap between being pretty and being intelligent. Beautiful girls have learned that they can get whatever they want by using their looks; even the ones with the potential to be intelligent rarely bother to develop it. They have invested their time cheerleading rather than studying; reading Cosmopolitan and Glamour magazines rather than Times or even a ‘political correct’ magazine like Vanity Fair. This is, in many ways, a function of human culture which values the appearance of a woman more than her brains. So the typical girl neglects her brains and only increases her knowledge on lipsticks, perfumes, and lingerie which she believes is the whole essence of being female. Such a trade-off usually comes with devastating effects in the future because by neglecting her brains and increasing only her attractiveness she narrows her prospects in life to very unchallenging opportunities; also, intelligent men who are attracted to her will lose interest quickly enough. Of course, we have seen a healthy dose of intelligence that accompany some beautiful women, but truth is, you are not going to find her type lurking at every corner. She’s rare. But hey, men have no right to complain, no one ever comes with all the qualities required in life. As difficult as it is for brilliant men to find a complete woman, so it is for women searching to find the handsome dude with a good dose of emotional suaveness.

Why do women hate one another?
Women compete with each other at a societal level, the criteria for winning is usually set by others and the results are subjective and intangible. Women are usually judged by characteristics that they have little control over; something that they did not create, and that exist outside of themselves such as their physical appearance. A woman’s success is usually based on subjective, biased, external validation by others. No matter how successful she gets, she is going to hear outright remarks that drag all of her achievements to the mud just because she doesn’t exactly have the right butt size! How can you really be more beautiful than another woman, when the decision is nothing more than someone else’s opinion of beauty?
Most importantly, how can society continue to dictate to women what the standard of beauty is? Why should someone’s personal preference for a certain body size and shape, a particular eye colour or a fondness for light-skinned busty chicks make another woman feel less as a woman?
It is this need to get validation, most especially from men that drive women to the wall because they are repeatedly compared to other women in shallow ways that leave them (women) bitter, because unlike failure which can be worked on and a good result of success achieved after a while, beauty isn’t so easy to alter. If you are dark with a flat nose, big bones, flat chest and a butt as hard as rock, you cannot do much about it. That is where the hate comes – a woman accepts herself the way she is until society informs her that she is ‘ugly’, pointing to other women as examples of beauty that she can never attain.
Women are so busy competing with each other for male attention that they do not have the psychological, intellectual or emotional insight to change the social climate that is causing them to suffer from low-self esteem and hating on each other so much. And guess what; one of the reasons men who cheat are so successful at it is because women are in constant competition with each other!
Women believe that they are superior to other women if they are physically more attractive, not necessarily if they are more driven and successful. You hear women brag, “I am lighter, slimmer than my neighbour’s wife.”
A woman’s perception of self-worth is validated outside of her self from others and this affects her internal psychological concept of her own value as a human being. Women compete with other women because they have not learned how to recognize and channel their internal desires, feelings and goals into physical, tangible realities. Once women learn that they can not control or live vicariously through their children or the man in their life; they will stop hating each other so damn much and focus on their individual unique gifts, talents and assets.

What attracts a woman to a man?
Women want to be loved, it’s very simple. While all the physical attributes are a plus, and money is nice, what really matters is how a guy treats her. Money and muscles can fade away in time so you’ve got to have something more to keep her around. A man with some sort of a personality that is well-rounded is what most women are after.
Confidence is the single most important thing you can have on your side as a man – confidence backed with material headway in life. It’s going to be very difficult to get women to notice you, much less find you attractive if you have no confidence or aspiration. You can always do things to boost your confidence. Start by working on yourself, try to be a positive person and find humour in bad situations. Yes, women love men who know how to laugh at themselves.
And please do not confuse confidence with cockiness. Cockiness is dangerous, and while it may work for some guys – it doesn’t work for very long. Cocky guys enjoy putting others down to make themselves look good at another person’s expense. Any girl with a brain knows that a cocky guy is actually insecure and not worth wasting time on.
A sincere smile and the power of communication go a long way. Guys that are able to carry on a conversation are much more likely to get a girl’s number than someone who can’t. Be yourself when talking to a woman, and don’t be afraid to engage her friends in conversation as well. Coming right out and “hitting on” a girl is like shooting yourself in the foot. Talk to her as if you are friends with no pressure, you’re going to get her number much easier that way, and get her to like you sooner than later.

Why are girls looking for husbands only in churches these days?
Don’t they say nice guys go to church? We know how untrue that is these days as the church harbours all manner of people. But still, it just seems the proper place to seek a spouse. He might be in the choir on Sunday, and at the bar on Friday but the likelihood of you daydreaming of settling down with a man of reasonable spirituality is higher than the dude who is busy with half the girls in the club. So yes, women find the church boy good enough for marriage…but there is still something so desirable about that man who orders a Hennessey at the dark corner of the bar…

Why do girls like to move in groups?
We are a chatty lot, we love to talk. We love to share and we love to laugh. Society understands this and makes room for the girl-group. We hold hands, we kiss our cheeks and we flirt unashamedly with the harmless guy sitting alone because it’s just the way girls are!

6  Forum / Celebrity Talk & Discussions / I Will Marry When I Find the Right Woman – Jude Okoye on: 15-12-2010 05:31 PM
JUDE OKOYE
The person of Jude “Engees” Okoye may mean different things to different people but to his younger brothers, Peter and Paul “P. Square” Okoye, he means guidance, a manager, director and even protector. During the buildup to their 30th birthday celebration which was held at their new home, SQUAREVILLE, in Omole Phase 1, Ikeja, Lagos on Thursday, November 28, 2010, we sat down with him to talk about him and his brothers.
Tales of him being rude and distant had prepared us for a very cold reception but none of this was evident right from the phone call to fix the appointment to our arrival at the house. We were cheerfully welcomed into the brand new SQUAREVILLE and ushered into the tastefully furnished yet simple living room on the ground floor of the twin duplex. Jude carefully switched off his phones as the tape recorder came out and proceeded to answer to our questions.

Starting from the beginnings in Jos, Plateau State, he told us of how he first noticed and recognized of his brothers’ musical talents. “I used to watch them rehearse around the house but never took anything seriously until when they came to perform in my school, the University of Jos. The kind of reception they go from the students really surprised me and from them I started taking them seriously and giving them attention. But they were still “Imitating Michael Jackson” like they put it in their song and I encouraged them to try out their own lyrics. The first two songs they wrote, “Igbedu” and “Say Your Love” fully convinced me that they could make it as professional musicians and they won my full support.”

Jude who is the third in the family of eight children was also a musician in Jos then; in fact he had two albums of his own, one was entitled, HARD BEING ENGEES while the second was still untitled when he switched over to movie making. The switch was prompted by the movie RATTLESNAKE which was released then. “When I saw RATTLESNAKE, I was impressed,” he says. “The fact that Nigerians could capture the society in such manner impressed me a lot at that time and I immediately went to work on my own story.” The product was his first movie which he named, GREAT OBLIGATIONS. He enlisted the help of an NTA Jos staff who directed it and while watching the man work behind the scenes, the idea that he could also direct his own movie came to him and his second movie, TOBI, which came a year later was directed by him and featured Peter and Paul who were not yet P. Square then. Two more movies, SISTER SISTER and GAZOLA followed, but those were done in Lagos.

Everybody knows about how Bayo “Howie T” Odusami brought P. Square to Lagos and managed them through their first album, LAST NITE before Jude took over. So we asked Jude how that came about and he traced it back to their university days. “When they got into the university, I encouraged them to sing and dance to their own songs because people were beginning to make fun of them for dancing to Michael Jackson and other people’s songs. That came with the need to promote those songs and I went round the major cities of the country trying to push them,” he said. Then came the BENSON & HEDGES competition to Jos and the twins entered for it. They won in Jos and went on to represent the Northern Region in Abuja where they won again to proceed to the Grand Finale in Lagos. They again emerged victorious and that was the turning point in their career. BENSON & HEDGES then helped them launch their first album and according to Jude, “the rest is now history.”

Because Jude was still a student in the university then, Howie T, the renowned DJ and show promoter who was actively involved with the BENSON & HEDGES was saddle with the management of P. Square and he supervised the release of the first album, LAST NITE, under TIMBUK2 MUSIC. When they all graduated, Jude suggested that they all move over to Lagos where he now took over the management of his brothers. This was just before the release of their second album, GET SQUARED. And while earning the reputation of a very hard bargainer on the way, Jude has arguably managed his brothers to becoming the biggest band in the land.
His other reputation lies in the direction of award winning videos for his brothers and we made him also talk about that. That he was into movie making was already a given but how the switch from music to that and eventually the videos of his brothers came about needed more explanation and we got that in this manner: “Whenever I put my mind into something, I have conviction and believe that I can do it. The ‘Senorita’ video was my very first video and for a big company like BENSON & HEDGES to trust me enough to let me do it meant a lot to me. I was able to convince Howie T that I could do it and I just did it. I just know that when I see a good thing, I can identify with it and I know how to follow up and achieve it in a particular manner.” This was done without any formal qualifications whatsoever in video directing or editing.
But was concentrating on his brothers’ career not too large a sacrifice against his own career? “No,” Jude disagrees. “I don’t think it’s a sacrifice so to say, it’s a job; it’s a calling, responsibility and a career. If you say sacrifice, it would be like I’m just doing everything for them. I’m working as well and making a career out of what I’m doing. I run NORTHSIDE ENTERTAINMENT which manages artists. I have a video and movie making studio in the works right now and I have been working for about six years now – from the GET SQUARED album till now. It’s no sacrifice because if I wasn’t doing this I would still be behind the scenes of movies and music just like I am now. It was my choice to just work with my brothers for now.”
This then led us to talk about him not working for other people and he explains that he had tried to work with other people without much success. The fact that he is working for his brothers has been in the way because whoever he works for would ultimately come to compare him or herself with P. Square and if their success levels are not at par, there would naturally be a lot of dissatisfaction and grumbling. “If they don’t do well, the easiest excuse would be that I do the best for my brothers and that I don’t want anybody to be bigger than them. They will not admit the fact that they are not P. Square and that the levels of success can never be the same for everybody. It would either be that they are bigger or they are smaller. They cannot be at par because they are not the same. So for me to avoid such a scenario, I would simply concentrate on working for my brothers for now.” He is contented just working for his brothers for the meantime. “But very soon I will open the doors to other people in management, recording and video directing. And when I do that I will be sure that P. Square has got to such a level that there will be no room for comparison. In fact, once I release another album from P. Square next year, I will open the doors to other people, he says”

There are a lot of complaints about him being a very rude person and we confronted him head-on with it. “It’s simply not true. What happens is that people like misunderstanding others. I’m a very busy person like most other people and because of my schedules, I like being very blunt and strict. I don’t like beating behind the bush or dragging an issue that should have been concluded in minutes. I have six phones and I have to answer all of them and there’s no way I can satisfy everyone that calls on them. Bill Cosby said that he might not know the secret to success but he sure does know that the secret to failure is trying to please everybody. Most people call thinking that one is idle just because he sees them on the TV without know what the person has passed through in the other 23 hours and six days of the week. God knows I’m not rude and I can’t be. God has been very wonderful to us. His blessings are so much and there’s no way we can be rude with it.”

In getting to the top, there are always fights and challenges and Jude and his brothers have had their own fair share. Of note was the last year faceoff with their former landlord which led to them rushing through the building of their house. But Jude sees it as dues everyone has to pay to succeed. He believes that everyone has his own route to the top. The stoicism and determination of the Nigerian youth impresses him but what they have to face pains him so much that he unwittingly digresses into a larger sphere of discourse – the entire Nigerian music industry.

“I don’t know why some of these bodies like the PMAN, COSON, MCSN, PMRS and so on that always come out to say that the government has recognized them to come and collect monies on behalf of the artists only come out to collect things. Nobody has come out to say that the government has recognized him to come and repair, they only come to collect. We have a piracy issue at hand and what they are doing is akin to a patient going to a hospital with a spinal cord injury and the doctor is trying to trim his nails. The major problem facing the industry is piracy so why ask the government to bring money? All we want them to do is to recognize the industry and help us fight piracy. Piracy is corruption and we want the government to help us to fight piracy. Most of these bodies are fake and they misrepresent us to the government and then ask us to join them. I can’t join because they don’t know my problem. That the government should help me to collect my royalties from the radios and TVs is my right, I know, but that is not my problem for now; it is not the bone of contention.”
“P. Square has succeeded in becoming a success and building a worldwide brand but what happens to those coming after? If everybody comes to collect, who is going to come out to give? What are we keeping as a foundation to the next generation? We don’t have any foundation in Nigeria. Imagine if P. Square were not musicians today what would they be doing? If all the artists in Nigeria today were not musicians, what would they be doing? If they had not had the opportunity and the will to fight for themselves to become great, they would have ended up being miscreants and threats to the society. This is what they were able to do for themselves and the government is still yet to recognize them, what will happen if we give them support?

“In every country in the world the government supports entertainment except in Nigeria. Yet it is the same entertainers that would come out to support the government and entertain them. So it’s high time we stop praising who has made it or who has not made it. We need to come together and say after we have made it what next? Can a parent train up his child to grow up in entertainment just like being a doctor? Come one million years today, doctors would still be in vogue but can the same be said about every music? In the 1960s we had the pyramids of groundnut in the north but immediately we discovered oil everything about agriculture went behind. We are now focusing on oil alone and that would finish one day. If we don’t lay a foundation in this music industry, very soon I don’t know what is going to happen.”
So with Jude’s spiritedness on the things of the industry we inquired if he and his brothers were taking any personal measures to see that things are corrected but he explains that the job of safeguarding the nation lies with the state. “It’s not something an individual can do alone. I cannot take the laws into my hands or start walking from one shop in Alaba to the next to stop people from selling pirated CDs. It is what the government should do. P. Square has been recorded to sell at least six million copies of every album they make. But at how much? N70, N60 or N100. Even an empty CD costs more. If they should be able to sell at N1000 like 2face is trying to do, do you know how much the government can make in tax from that? Or how much more employment can be created through that? And this is just one person. What about when others are involved? But if the government doesn’t come in we will still have to selloff our albums at giveaway prices to marketers. There’s nobody implementing the laws and what these pirates are doing is stealing. They are no different from armed robbers!”

Jude could have gone on and on about this issue but we had to round off but before leaving we asked if he had any plans of settling down with a wife soon since he is three steps in front of Peter and Paul who were celebrating their 30th birthday already. But he simply smiled and told us that it won’t happen until he finds the right woman marry. “Or am I to walk down the altar alone?” he asked.
7  Forum / Health / World’s Oldest Mother Adriana Iliescu, 72, Wants Second Child. on: 15-12-2010 12:46 PM
In January 2005, Adriana Iliescu, then aged 66, gave birth to a healthy baby girl conceived through IVF. Now, with Eliza aged 5 and going to school, Mrs. Iliescu talks about the possibility of having a second child.
Mrs. Iliescu’s case caused quite a ruckus in the media at the time, as it went to become the first time a woman gave birth at such an advanced age.
Speaking of age and whether she’d do it all over again, Mrs. Iliescu tells the Daily Mail she wouldn’t say no to another child since it’s medically possible for her to become pregnant again – while her health also allows her to dream of many years still to come for her.
Still, that’s not to say that Mrs. Iliescu is under any illusion about how old she is or what an odd figure she must strike when she walks Eliza to school and she’s nothing like the rest of the other moms, something that the girl also picked on.
“I try not to look in the mirror, because I don’t enjoy it. The mirror is unkind to women, but if we are talking about my energy then I feel like a young woman,” Mrs. Iliescu says.

It’s this energy that has allowed her to even consider having a second child. She doesn’t smoke and doesn’t drink, and has parents who got to live until a very respectable old age.
“I feel like I’m 27 and when I feel a bit more tired, I feel like I’m 37. I am healthier than women more than half my age. People think they are being funny when they call me granny, but I didn’t have Eliza to make me look younger. I never feel my years,” the mother says for the Mail.
“Medically, it’s possible,” Mrs. Iliescu says when asked about whether she’d go through IVF and pregnancy again to give Eliza a sibling.
“I understand there are trials going on with a 70-year-old woman in England, so it could be done. I am fine and healthy and I think it would be possible to have another child in the future, but I’m not in a rush at the moment,” she explains.

8  Forum / Celebrity Talk & Discussions / P SQUARE SHUN MAMAs AWARD on: 14-12-2010 09:42 AM
Peter and Paul Okoye of the popular Psquare group were missing in action at this year’s MTV Africa Music Awards (MAMA) 2010. It was gathered that it was a deliberate action by the showbiz twins who see themselves as the ‘kings’ of African entertainment.
When it was time to be presented with their award, a recorded appreciation message on Video was delivered by the production to the audiance. On the screen, Psquare thanked the organizers MTV for giving them the award. Psquare also said that they were absent for reasons beyond control.

Almost everyone present thought the duo had travelled out of the continent for an engagement only for us to discover that the Psquare were actually a less than 5 minutes drive away from the venue of the award. They were actually having fun with some Lagos big boys at Auto Lounge (located in Victoria Island, Lagos).
We gathered that some stupendously rich Lagos Big boys were celebrating with some Oniru children at the club. Luxury cars were seen (including one that was dancing and more than eight G class Mercedes Benz cars- the price is put at about 17 Million Naira for one)
Also sighted were the cars of Peter and Jude their elder brother in front of the club. Some hours later, they later showed up at Tribecca Club venue of the  after party of MAMA 2010.
A source later told us that the duo like to behave like demi gods in the entertainment industry. They are talented but they are too arrogant. MAMA was the biggest thing happening that night in Africa as far as entertainment is concerned. All the who is who from different places were there including D’banj and Tuface. Why would a group like Psquare such an event for a club party?

Another source told gistmaster.com that they didnt come because they were asking for something huge from the organizers to perform but MTV team were not forthcoming. Aside that they just don’t like attending awards in Nigeria anymore. For the Soundcity Music Video Awards (SMVA) the organizers had to beg and beg before they could attend.

We gathered that ever since what they tagged the unfair treatment at one of the Hip Hop World Awards, they have found it difficult attending most awards in town. “You know they came to the award with expectations that they were going to win all but then they were highly disappointed as Ayo Animashaun and his team thought otherwise” said another person.

Well, don’t us blame the guys they sure know where their bread are ‘buttered’- Those Oniru Boys could take them to another level because they are just more than loaded!
9  Forum / Health / NEW MOTHER ASTONISHED AS HER BABY GIRL IS BORN WITH TEETH on: 11-12-2010 07:43 PM
Bosom  feeding can be uncomfortable at the best of times, but one mother who found it particularly painful was amazed to discover her new baby already had two front teeth.

Patricia Caulfield, 25, from Liverpool, said she noticed her daughter Fiona's pearly whites a day after her birth at Ormskirk hospital.
Ms Caulfield said: 'When she was born, I noticed two white slits on her bottom gum and the nurses said they were teeth.
'The next morning, when I was feeding her, I felt a sharp pain and saw they had come through fully.

'My midwife told me this is really rare. Children are sometimes born with buds but hardly ever full teeth.'
Two-week-old Faye Armstrong has now grown another two molars at the back of her mouth.
Most babies don't develop their first tooth until they are around six months old, and it is usually a lower central incisor.

Ms Caulfield, who works in recruitment, is currently at home on maternity leave with her new arrival and her son, three-year-old Alfie.

She said her partner Andrew Armstrong, 26, a tyre fitter, was also surprised with the delivery.
She said: 'He was shocked too, but he does not have to feed her, so it is not bothering him!
'We are so pleased with her and it is amazing she already has two of her baby teeth. I did not think it ever happened.
'It does not run in the family and I do not know anyone else it has happened to.

'I have been told to keep an eye on the teeth in case they become wobbly and fall out - she could choke on them.
'I keep joking that if the pregnancy had gone full-term, she would have been born with a full set.'
Ms Caulfield's community midwife Joyce Davies, who works for Liverpool Women's Hospital, said: 'While you are always told to check for signs of teeth, it is actually a very, very rare event to find two fully erupted teeth after so few days.

'You often find little beads in the gums but there is no doubt about it - these are two fully-formed teeth.
'This little baby certainly got all she wanted for Christmas - her two front teeth!'

10  Forum / Celebrity Talk & Discussions / Beyonce buys Jay-Z a £1.3 million Bugatti on: 9-12-2010 10:25 AM
Superstar singer Beyonce has bought her husband, rapper Jay-Z, a £1.3 million Bugatti Veyron Grand Sport for his birthday.

The lavish gift meant that when Jay-Z turned 41 on December 4, he was the lucky recipient of the world's fastest convertible.

The Veyron Grand Sport is powered by a 16.4-litre engine, developing 987bhp, which propels it to 62mph in less than 2.7 seconds. Its 253mph top speed officially makes it the fastest production convertible in the world.

Beyonce couldn't stretch to - or more likely couldn't get her hands on - the ultimate Bugatti Veyron - the Super Sport. That version made headlines this year by hitting a verified 267.8mph top speed, which makes it the fastest production car in the world.

Only five cars capable of that speed were built, which are known as 'World Record Editions'. The remaining cars are limited to a 'mere' 258mph.

Beyonce ordered her husband's Grand Sport over a year ago, and it's now the latest of a large number of luxury cars owned by the rapper. Jay-Z's garage includes a Rolls-Royce Phantom, a Maybach, and a Pagani Zonda.

Careful interpretation of the lyrics to his song 'Empire State of Mind' reveals that he could also own a Subaru Tribeca - which would probably be the rarest car on his fleet.

She’d be sorely missed —Fashola
Governor Babatunde Fashola of Lagos State on Wednesday expressed his heartfelt condolence to Governor Adams Oshiomhole of Edo state over the passage of his wife, Mrs Clara Oshiomhole saying “she would be sorely missed by all.”
Governor Fashola made this known in his condolence letter, said that it was a painful experience to lose a soul mate, a wife and a confidant in any circumstance, particularly when her love, support and advice are required to continue to implement policies and programmes aimed at returning Edo State into its enviable heights.
He added: “She would be sorely missed as a confidant, comforter and a mother who has steadfastly kept the home front going throughout the decades of your engagements.”
His words “A true heroine of the struggle to enthrone genuine democratic governance in Edo State, her passage at this time has a devastating impact in more ways than one. As the First Lady of Edo State, she has done a lot to positively touch the lives of many, especially women and children within the last two years”.
Fashola noted that though the suddenness of the physical separation could be painful, Governor Oshiomhole should take solace in the fact that his wife lived a fulfilled life and impacted positively on her community in numerous ways, adding : “Her public advocacy regarding the right policies to fight cancer is particularly commendable”.
The governor prayed that God grant the soul of Mrs Oshiomhole sweet repose and endow the husband, the family and the people of Edo State she left behind with the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss and offered his sincere condolences on behalf of the First family, the Government and people of Lagos State.

She was a solid pillar – Atiku

A great loss – NLC
NIGERIA Labour Congress, NLC, has described the death of Edo State First Lady, Mrs Clara Oshiomhole, as a great loss, saying unlike most First Ladies, Mrs. Oshiomhole was unobtrusive and saw her role essentially as complementing that of the Comrade Governor.
In a statement by NLC President, Comrade Abdulwaheed Omar, entitled, The Passing On Of Mrs. Clara Oshiomhole; A Great Loss, Comrade Omar said: “One of the things that marked her out as her complete identification with her husband, which she showed by her attendance of NLC functions like the May Day when Comrade Adams was the President of the NLC.”
Meanwhile, Trade Union Congress of Nigeria, TUC, and the Petroleum and Natural Gas Senior Staff Association of Nigeria, PENGASSAN, have expressed shock over the death of the First Lady of Edo State, saying she was a great mother and one of the silent nation builders of modern day Nigeria.
In separate statements, TUC and PENGASSAN, called for her immotalisation, saying, “Mrs Clara was a solid pillar behind her husband. Through his days as a front line labour activist and through the struggle to reclaim his mandate freely given to him by the good people of Edo State, she stood by him and the family.”

According to the statement: “It is with profound shock but with total submission to the will of The Almighty that the  Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) received the tragic news of the passing away of Mrs. Clara Oshiomhole, the First Lady of Edo State and wife of the Edo State, State Governor and immediate past president of Congress, Comrade Adam Oshiomhole. Unlike most First Ladies, Mrs. Oshiomhole was unobtrusive and saw her role essentially as complementing that of the Comrade Governor.
One of the things that marked her out was her complete identification with her husband which she showed by her attendance of NLC functions like the May Day when Comrade Adams was the President of the NLC.”
“It is an open secret that but for her dedication and making the home front peaceful,  the Comrade Governor would not have succeeded so well in his service to the public. She was also a very successful mother going by the good manners and academic excellence of her children. Her death is a major loss to her family, Edo State, the Labour Movement and the country in general.
Her motherly role will be greatly missed and we pray the Almighty to grant Comrade Adams  and his family the fortitude to bear this irreplaceable loss.

Her legacies live on -Mimiko
Ondo State Governor, Dr. Olusegun Mimiko, yesterday, expressed shock over the death of the wife of his fellow Comrade Governor, Mr. Adams Oshiomhole of Edo State.
Mimiko, who on hearing of the passage of the woman, on Tuesday evening, had placed a personal call to his Edo State counterpart. In a release issued on his behalf by his Chief Press Secretary, Mr. Kolawole Olabisi in Akure, he described the death of Mrs. Clara Oshiomhole, who he described as “our wife”, as a sad loss and condoled the Governor, the entire Oshiomhole family and the people of Edo State.
He said: “But we are consoled by the fact that the ideals for which she laboured for alongside her husband and other patriots manifested in her life time and will live on as an enduring legacy in her memory.”
Our hearts go out to our brother and colleague, Comrade Governor Adams Oshiomhole at these dark hours following the demise of his darling wife and soul mate, Mrs. Clara Oshiomhole. We also commiserate with the entire people of Edo State, the Oshiomhole family and the children of the late Amason who stood by her husband in his struggle first for the emancipation and betterment of the nation’s workforce and later for the liberation of the people of Edo State from those who foisted themselves on the people by sheer brigandage.
In all these times, which were no doubt, turbulent and full of anxieties, the late Amason stood by her husband like the biblical rock of Gibraltar. It is sad that she had to bow to the cold hands of death
now.
“ On behalf of the entire good people of Ondo State and my family, I mourn with my brother Comrade Governor at this sad time and I pray that God will give him the strength to continue to forge on with his
fabled vigour as he takes Edo State to greater heights. Please accept our heartfelt sympathy,” Mimiko stated.
Painful, shocking, says Oyinlola
Osogbo—Former Osun State Governor, Prince Olagunsoye Oyinlola has condoled with Edo State Governor, Comrade Adams Oshiomhole, on the death of his wife, Clara.
In a condolence letter issued yesterday in Osogbo by his Chief Press Secretary, Mr. Lasisi Olagunju, Prince Oyinlola said he received with shock the news of the demise of Mrs Oshiomhole during at the age of 54.
He said: “Her death was as painful as it was shocking given her relatively young age. Her strength of character and her invaluable contributions to your successful transformation from a labour activist to a politician.”
“No doubt, the people of Edo state have lost a mother who touched several lives through her pet project, the Health Foundation for Maternal and Child Care, dedicated  to providing quality health care to pregnant women and the girl child.
“While I pray the Almighty God to give you and the children she left behind the fortitude to bear this great and irreplaceable loss,  it is also my prayer that He will grant her soul eternal rest,” Oyinlola said.
… CPP too
ABUJA—Citizens Popular Party, CPP, has commiserated with Comrade Governor, Adams Oshiomhole of Edo State over the loss of his wife, Mrs. Clara who died Tuesday night at an Abuja hospital.
National Chairman of CPP, Barrister Maxi Okwu in a signed condolence letter said, the demise of Mrs. Oshiomhole was a big loss not only to Edo State but also to the entire country.
He said, “we wish to sympathise with the Comrade Governor Adams Oshiomhole on the transition of his dear wife. Our heart and prayers go out to him and his family, the people and government of Edo state.
“We pray that the Almighty would grant them the fortitude to bear this irreparable loss. The news of the resignation of Ma Ayoka Adebayo REC of Ondo state who was behind the electoral fiasco in Ekiti state last year is a most welcome development, though belated.
“As the cliché goes better late than never. In more decent societies Ma Adebayo would have long thrown in the towel and be in the hot embrace of the law. There are others like her still in the system viz; one Bulama Enugu REC that did not conduct any election in Enugu state in 2007, and the Edo state REC seriously indicted by the Court of Appeal for doctoring figures, in the Oshiomole/Osunbor case.
“Let the Ma Adebayo saga be a warning to all that someday we shall be held accountable for our deeds/misdeeds in public office.”
13  Forum / Relationships & Romance / THIRTY WAYS WOMEN CAN MAKE SEX GREAT FOR MEN on: 6-12-2010 03:56 PM
1 Learn how he likes his penis to be handled

His penis is not like your clitoris - it's not highly sensitive and delicate. So he'll want you to go straight for his penis during sex, and once you're there he'll want you to apply a firm pressure (though you can make sex last longer by teasing him and working gradually down his body towards his penis). Learn how he likes it from his reactions, if necessary by watching him, and you'll soon see the kind of stroke and pressure he appreciates most.

2 Play with his balls

Because men are so penis-centred, they and their partners tend to forget how sensitive and erotic his scrotum and testicles can be. Play with his balls as you give him fellatio, for example, and he'll be in heaven. You could even try taking one at a time into your mouth and gently rolling it around.

3 Play with his perineum

If you haven't discovered the erotic potential of his perineum yet - that's the area between his scrotum and anus - then another treat's in store. You can press, lick, stroke and tease this area, and increase his segxwal excitement enormously.

4 When he comes, stimulate his anus

If he's near his orgasm, it can make him come there and then. press his prostate gland when he comes, he's likely to have a massive orgasm!

5 Talk dirty as you make love

A lot of women are too inhibited to talk dirty during sex, but I'd say most men like it - a lot. If you tell him to "phyuk my hot wet c*@t" when you're both enjoying sex, he's most likely to come there and then!

6 Do something different

If you always employ the same old routine during sex, do something different. For example, try a different sex position. If you usually have sex with him on top, roll over so you're doing it on your sides, facing each other. If you haven't tried woman on top, get up there and ride him. If he likes rear entry (and which man doesn't?) then let him enter you from behind while you lie in the spoons position on the bed - that's more intimate than rear entry but probably just as exciting for him. Or take the initiative, and seduce him in the kitchen, making love on the table or the floor! These positions are especially fun to try when you're feeling horny.

7 Wake him up in the night for sex

A woman can always seduce a man subtly if she puts her mind to it. So see what happens if you press your buttocks up against him in the night, or if you press your hot vulva against his cock as he slumbers. Move your hips around a little as you do this, and he'll soon be raring to go. This might be best reserved for the nights you don't have an early start next day.

14  Forum / Health / How to Make Love to a Woman in 5 Easy Steps on: 3-12-2010 07:17 PM
One of the biggest problems men face is knowing how to make love to a woman!
Unfortunately what commonly happens is men get their segxwal advice friends or from pornography. As a result, they have a distorted view of what sex is actually about.
If you really want to know how to make love, you should follow a PROVEN system that is guaranteed to give pleasure to a woman.

In this article, I'll discuss a step-by-step system that many guys use to have great sex:

Step 1- Put her in 'The Mood'
Before you have sex, you have to put your woman in the mood. This involves setting up the right kind of environment which will enhance her pleasure.
To put her in the mood, you should darken the room, light some candles and put on good music. Your focus should be to create an atmosphere which emphasizes sensuality.

Step 2- Use foreplay
Foreplay is one of the most important things to learn about how to make love to a woman. Using foreplay is the best way to transition from a conversation to having sex.
Typically foreplay involves kissing, "heavy petting" and sensual massages. The rule of thumb is to really focus on her pleasure and start building up intensity.

Remember we informed you – exclusively – few weeks back, of Cobhams’ plans to exchange vows with his partner this December?

Well, we can now confirm, that the celebrated visually-impaired producer and his fiancee tied the knots early this morning.

The quiet wedding held at ‘Jesus is Coming Soon’ Parish of the Redeemed Christian Church of Gid, inside the Redemption camp along Lagos-Ibadan expressway.

A source tells us ‘Cobhams really wanted it simple and quiet; not a showbiz wedding’. That explains why a lot of his colleagues who spoke with NET early today are surprised; saying they were not aware he was getting married today – even though some admit he ‘mentioned it’ sometime back.

The news is all over town that Genevieve and D’banj were the focus at P-Square’s birthday party in Omole. This goes to confirm the much touted romance between the duo. Despite her silence at the party, her body language and the lovey-dovey of the two lovebirds gave them away.
Immediately after the outing, news was rife that Genevieve is working on an album and that Don Jazzy, the president of MoHoits, is about to sign her on. It’s also in the news that she will be featuring in D’banj’s forthcoming album in December.
In a chat with Samuel Olatunji, Genevieve’s manager, Ajua Dickson said she is not working on any album, stating there was no plan to sign a deal with MoHits. “Genevieve is not a singer and I can tell you for sure that she is not working on any album. And as for featuring on D’banj’s forthcoming album, she is not a singer, but you can’t say never”.
On the rumored romance, Ajua said: “D’banj is a friend of the house. Genny will get back to you herself on that.” D’banj was not available for comments as he is said to be in America shooting a Glo commercial. Meanwhile all sms and repeated calls placed to Genevieve’s phones were not returned.

20  Forum / Law and Crime / NIGERIAN TOPS FBI MOST WANTED LIST FOR STEALING $44 MILLION on: 30-11-2010 09:53 AM
The United States Federal Bureau of Investigation, FBI has added a Nigerian, Mr. Tobechukwu Enyinna Onwuhara, 30, to its list of ‘Most Wanted Fugitives.’
According to a report on America’s Most Wanted, the Bureau said ‘Tobechi Onwuhara is a criminal mastermind’ who in less than three years stole $44 million dollars from banks in the United States using sophisticated methods including stealing bank customer’s personal information, Home Equity Lines of Credit details and account numbers.

FBI agents say Onwuhara was born in Houston and sent to live with his wealthy Nigerian father, Prince Doris Onwuhara who the Bureau say is a ‘well-known con man who made a fortune from the notorious Nigerian 419 scheme’ before returning to the United States when he reached his teenage years in 1999. Having settled in the southern state of Texas, he got a job with US lender, Capital One Financial Corporation where authorities believe he gained insider knowledge on how to work the US financial system.

His first brush with the law happened in April 2002 when he was arrested by Lewisville city police in Lewisville, Texas after police got a tipoff that he may be using stolen identification to steal money from credit card accounts. When police raided his apartment, they found stolen credit card account numbers, fake driver’s licenses and materials used to forge identification.
Same year in December in the western state of Seattle, FBI said ‘Onwuhara walked into a local bank and tried to max out the cash withdrawal limit on a stolen credit card’ but fled the bank when he sensed trouble. He was said to have jumped into a waiting car driven by a friend of his, Abel Nnabue and they led Seattle police on a high-speed chase but were eventually caught when they tried to flee on foot. Both men were charged, convicted and sentenced to two years in a Seattle prison but spent only eight months of their sentence for good behaviour.

After their release, they relocated to Texas and went low for a while until sometime in 2005 when the real estate market was at an all time high and Home Equity Lines Of Credit loans became available. Though it was harder to steal from Home Equity Lines of Credit, Onwuhara and his co-conspirators found a way around it. FBI say Onwuhara painstakingly researched home owners credit reports to see if they opened home lines of credit accounts and how much they had available. At this time in the real estate market, it was very common to find homeowners with $300, 000 - $ 400, 000 in home equity. Onwuhara impersonated such homeowners after learning their passwords and home phone numbers through extensive research.

The Nigerian acquired multiple prepaid phone lines and wireless internet cards to prevent anyone from successfully tracing their numbers. He then also signed up to a spoofing service which allowed a home owner’s number appear on the bank representative’s caller ID when he called a bank to request a wire transfer from the account to a home owner’s regular checking account before the funds are eventually wired to accounts in Asia and then the monies would go to a Hawala in Africa.

‘Hawalas’ are funds transfer systems that are not regulated instead, they operate on trust. ‘Brokers or Hawalanders would take a cut and then transfer the money to an African Bank, eventually returning to a US bank,’ according to America’s Most Wanted. Most of the funds returning to the United States came through accounts belonging to Precious Matthews or one of the other conspirators. Investigators say Onwuhara made most of the calls himself but when an account belonged to a female, he would get his girlfriend, Precious Matthews to make the call while other co-conspirators would be delegated other duties including finding new home owners with equity in their homes.

According to FBI records, Onwuhara and his crew had stolen more than $20 million dollars before the bureau were notified of the scam and by the time the FBI penetrated their well-organized syndicate and learned their identity, they had stolen an additional $20 million dollars. To learn their identity, the FBI contacted Verizon Wireless, a prepaid wireless company after it learned they were using prepaid internet services provided by the company to log into bank accounts and were able to obtain surveillance videos of three men paying for the service at one of the provider’s stores.

In the spring of 2008, the FBI got a break when they also found out that Onwuhara was using a spoofing service and they contacted the provider who made more than 1500 audio recordings available to them. As expected, most of the recordings were conversations between Onwuhara and various bank representatives, but unfortunately for Onwuhara someone from his crew had also used the phone to call a pharmacy pretending to be a doctor and ordered a prescription for Tobechi Onwuhara. This was a huge lead for the FBI. When they ran Onwuhara’s name, there was a match in their database where they found out he had been arrested before for bank fraud. When they matched his photo with the surveillance videos obtained from the telecommunications company, they believed they had their man.
Gradually, they started their investigations and tried to learn the identity of his co-conspirators. This was when they discovered that Onwuhara had left Miami for Nigeria with a brief stopover in New York.

The FBI waited for Onwuhara and his travelling companions to return to the country and decided to stop him at the airport after he had rerouted his ticket several times. The Bureau said they wanted him to believe he was being questioned as a possible terrorist and he fell for it by giving them information that eventually linked him to the fraud. Before August 1, 2008, FBI agents already knew Onwuhara and his girlfriend, Matthews lived in their $5000 a month mansion near Miami in Florida. As they were making their way to a Florida casino with their crew on that day, agents and local police decided they had enough evidence to take them in. While they were effecting their arrest, agents realized that Onwuhara had entered the casino and believed Matthews sent a text message to him that they were being arrested and he managed to get away.

Authorities say they have not been able to track him down since. FBI said before they took the gang down, Onwuhara would spend about $50, 000 a night in a strip club up to three times in a week and usually stayed at various five star hotels whenever he made his frequent travels. Onwuhara according to the Bureau has stashed cash abroad and also shipped many luxury cars to Nigeria- all paid for in cash.

They believe he is hiding in either Canada; Miami, Florida; Atlanta, Georgia; or New Jersey. His co-conspirators have been sentenced to various jail terms:
Henry ‘Uche’ Obilo, 30, Miami: Sentenced to 88 months in prison.
Abel Nnabule, 34, Dallas: Sentenced to 54 months on Jan. 30, 2009.
Precious Matthews (Onwuhara’s girlfriend): Sentenced to 51 months on Feb. 13, 2009.
Brandy Anderson, 31, Dallas, Sentenced to two years of supervised probation and 40 days of community confinement on Feb. 20, 2009.
Ezenwa Onyedebelu, 21, Dallas, Sentenced to 37 months on Feb. 27, 2009.
Daniel Orjinta, 43, Nigeria: Sentenced to 42 months on March 06, 2009.
Paula Gipson, 34, Dallas, Sentenced to 15 months on September 04, 2009.
