There is an error in this report and as such it should be corrected. The corp members involved are not NYSC members but NSCDC nenbers but the picture you are using is NYSC members. Please correct that anomaly as it is misleading.

My people,

How has your day been? Permit me to share this with you.

A psychiatrist visited a mental institution and asked a patient, "How did you get here? What was the nature of your illness?" He got the following reply.

"Well, it all started when I got married and I guess I should never have done it. I married a widow with a grown daughter who then became my stepdaughter.

My dad came to visit us, fell in love with my lovely stepdaughter, then married her. And so my stepdaughter was now my stepmother. Soon, my wife had a son who was, of course, my daddy's brother-in-law since he is the half-brother of my stepdaughter, who is now, of course, my daddy's wife.

So, as I told you, when my stepdaughter married my daddy, she was at once my stepmother! Now, since my new son is brother to my stepmother, he also became my uncle. As you know, my wife is my step-grandmother since she is my stepmother's mother. Don't forget that my stepmother is my stepdaughter. Remember, too, that I am my wife's grandson.

But hold on just a few minutes more. You see, since I'm married to my step-grandmother, I am not only the wife's grandson and her hubby, but I am also my own grandfather. Now can you understand how I got put in this place?"

After staring blankly with a dizzy look on his face, the psychiatrist replied: "Move over!

Don't laugh too much ooo!

Johannesburg – A self-proclaimed prophet from Mandeni, in KwaZulu-Natal, claims he has been to heaven four times, according to a report on Monday.

Sibusiso Mthembu, 64, said there were 11 heavens and he had drawn a map of them, the Sowetan newspaper reported.

Mthembu said he had his first heavenly journey in December 1998. The other three journeys took place in 2004, 2006 and 2008. On his return, he drew a map of heaven and its residents.
“An angel, whom I later realised was Gabriel, who was in his early 20s, appeared at my house and led me by the hand to the Mandeni River where he baptised me and he returned to heaven,” Mthembu told the newspaper.

He said the same angel arrived in 1998 and this time took him along to heaven. Mthembu said he had seen God, Jesus and angels during his journeys.

Mthembu had written several books documenting his heavenly experiences, according to the newspaper.
65  Forum / Naijapals Base (Metro life) / Crashed Helicopter that killed police DIG was faulty – Witnesses on: 15-03-2012 12:59 PM
A Nigerian Newspaper on Thursday reported that the helicopter that killed a Deputy Inspector General (DIG) of Police, Haruna John and three other senior police officers in Jos on Wednesday was a faulty one.
The paper quoted witness accounts as saying the chopper took off from the Jos Prison field with indications that something was wrong with it as it headed to Abuja. While flying away, the helicopter drastically lost altitude, and then smoke oozed out of it before it burst into flames and crashed in Kabong, a residential area at Gada Biyu, Jos North.
Resident Iliya John said “We usually see helicopters going round the city almost every day, but this morning we saw this one flying in an abnormal way and we all became alert and we started heading for safety…it was going so low that whoever sees it could tell that something was amiss, in fact people first started coming out and pointing at the way it was flying so low, it was not as the normal ones that we see every day.”
“People were even following the aircraft to see where it was going to land because they noticed that it had mechanical problem.” another witness, Joseph Audu added.
Senator Hadi Sirika, who served as pilot in the Nigeria Police Force, told journalist that “There are several possible causes, if there is no brief you can’t really fathom what happened but he insisted that the crashed chopper was new.
The late DIG was killed along with his orderly, Sergeant Sonatian Shirunam; the pilot, assistant commissioner Garba Yalwa; and the co-pilot, chief superintendent Alexander Pwol-Ja. Also, a nine-year-old child on the ground was killed by the impact of the crash, which destroyed five homes in the area and injured several people who were taken to the Air Force Military Hospital, Jos.

70  Forum / FunnyHub (Jokes + Comedy) / Katy Perry’s “Part Of Me” Is NOT About Russell Brand on: 9-03-2012 01:18 PM
Despite the lyrics, the timing of the release, and pretty much everyone's interpretation, Katy Perry said her latest single "Part of Me" is not about freshly minted ex-husband Russell Brand. But Perry's words aren't just a simple denial: Turns out the song had been written (and leaked) in 2010, just two months into the superstar couple's quickie marriage.
Creepy omen, or simple coincidence?
Perry revealed to MTV News recently that that some of her music machine colleagues urged her to lie and say she wrote "Part of Me" just a few weeks ago to fit her current relationship debacle—but she refused. "I'm going to tell the truth," she said. "I wrote it two years ago when I was writing and recording Teenage Dream." The song didn't make it onto the album, but the 27-year-old future divorcee had wanted to release it as a single around this time anyway and hopefully perform it at a big awards show (like the Grammys perhaps?).
Hard as it may be to believe or even remember, Katy Perry's angst-ridden lyrics have nothing to do with Russell Brand: But the pop singer is fully aware of the irony in releasing "Part of Me" soon after announcing her divorce. She said, "I sit down and I write all these songs at once, all these emotions and feelings and thoughts, and then, like, it just feels like sometimes I'm caught in this movie where my life is paralleling my music! It seems very serendipitous."
With the single hitting #1 on the charts, making it Perry's  seventh #1 song, "Part of Me" may prove to be 2012's "Rolling In The Deep". Even with her admission that the song was not initially written about her English comedian ex, there was probably a conscious decision made to dust off the particularly biting breakup track. Perry is certainly one for cheeky jabs like that, reportedly even signing her divorce papers with a smiley face. And who can blame her? Apparently it was Russell Brand who initiated the divorce. In the end, wouldn't we all love to lord it over an ex with a smash hit single?
Katy Perry's "Part of Me": Life imitating art or art imitating life? Do you think it was meant for Russell Brand?
71  Forum / Naijapals Base (Metro life) / Rihanna: I hate being single on: 2-03-2012 04:31 PM
Rihanna thinks single life is “overrated.”

The sultry songstress split from singer Chris Brown three years ago after he physically attacked her and was subsequently charged with felony battery.

The pair have caused controversy of late as it is rumoured that Rihanna rekindled her romance with Chris after exchanging messages on Twitter and even reportedly spending Valentine’s Day together.

Rihanna confirms that she is still a bachelorette and admits that she absolutely despises life without romance. “Yes I am a single lady. This is not something I enjoy,” Rihanna said on British late night TV talk programme The Jonathan Ross show. “Single life is so overrated.”

Rihanna commiserates with singletons and their desire for personal freedom. Despite this acknowledgment, the star admits that she prefers being off the market.

“You always want to be single when you are in a relationship but trust me it is no bueno (good),” she explained. “I have such incredible experiences in my life, but you don’t want to live your life and then meet someone, you want to share your life with someone. I feel like that is what I am missing right now.”

Although Rihanna believes that many men are intimidated by her, she hopes that one day she will find the perfect mate. “Yeah [lots of guys feel threatened by me], but in that case they are probably not the right one ‘cause I can’t do that,” Rihanna explained. “I would love to find someone cool, fun, funny.

74  Forum / The Buzz Central / Jos church member killed in error, relations say on: 28-02-2012 08:37 AM
A man suspected to have been in company of the suicide bomber who struck a church in Jos on Sunday was killed in error by fellow worshippers as he was actually a church member and not an attacker, relations and authorities said yesterday.

Mr. Adams Joseph Ashaba was lynched to death on the suspicion that he came along with the bomber and tried to escape just after the explosion at the Church of Christ in Nigeria headquarters.
But the Special Task Force and the deceased’s relations yesterday said the late Ashaba went to the church along with his wife and two children to worship on Sunday, and he was mistaken to be together with the suicide bomber.

“(The) alleged suicide bomber killed by the angry youths at the premises of the church on 26 Feb 2012 was identified as Adams Joseph Ashaba, a member of the church and not a suicide bomber as alleged,” spokesman for STF, Cpt. Mdahelya Markus, said in a statement in Jos yesterday.

A cousin of the late Ashaba, Mr. Julius Autahaa, who spoke to newsmen on behalf of the family, confirmed that the body of the person he saw at the mortuary, brought by security agents on Sunday, was that of Ashaba.

He said Ashaba went to the church with his family and that when the blast occurred, the wife quickly took the children home and came back to look for her husband.

But she could not find him and so contacted other members of his family, he added.

Autahaa said yesterday morning, somebody called them to come to the Jos University Teaching Hospital to identify a corpse.

“When we got there, we were able to identify that he was our cousin who works at Spring Bank, through his nails since his face was battered,” he said.

“We wanted to claim the body but we were directed to the STF because we were told we could not claim the body as he was one of the suspects in yesterday’s bombing.”

He described his late cousin as light complexioned and of average height, just like the corpse.

Ashaba’s colleague at the Jos branch of Enterprise Bank, Nasiru Bala, who went to the mortuary to inspect the corpse, also said it was that of Ashaba.

He said identified the corpse by the size of the head.

The COCIN church said at a separate briefing yesterday that one of the people injured in the blast later died in hospital, bringing to four the number of its members killed by the bombing.

The church said at least 50 people, including state Information commissioner Mr. Abraham Yiljab, church warden Mr. Alhamis Gukas and Appolos Dabwang, were injured and are now being treated in different hospitals in Jos.

President of COCIN, Rev. Soja Bewarang, said the church could have suffered more casualties if key elders like Governor Jonah Jang, Gen. Joshua Dogonyaro, Senator John Shagaya and Chief Solomon Lar were around.

The youth wing of the Christian Association of Nigeria, YOWICAN, in a statement, said “our conclusion is that this is a well-crafted strategy by fundamentalist Islamic leaders and politicians to destabilise Nigeria as the serial attacks on Christians is often punctuated by isolated cases of attacks on Muslims to create a false impression that the attacks are against all of us.”

Member of the House of Representatives Suleiman Kwande, in a statement, condemned the attack and appealed for calm.

The COCIN church premises became a centre of attraction yesterday as people queued up to be allowed entrance to see the damages created by the blast.

The Jos killing of a church member on suspicion of him being a bomber came few weeks after a Kaduna State director was similarly shot when he was mistaken for a suicide bomber.

Pastor Isuwa Kiforo, a director in the Kaduna state Information ministry, was driving in to the government house when he was shot because he failed to stop for security checks. Days later, Kiforo died of injuries he sustained in the shooting.

Members of the House of Representatives ad-hoc committee investigation management of the subsidy regime are under intense pressure from many quarters, committee chairman Rep Faruok Lawan (PDP, Kano) has said.
Speaking at the commencement of yesterday’s hearings, Lawan said the committee will not compromise in spite of the pressure.

“I know that some people have already made up their minds but we should all wait for the outcome. There were a lot of drama in the course of the exercise and we received a lot of contradictory information,” he said.

He said the panel will not witch-hunt anybody or run people down but will also not bury the truth or sweep the issues under the carpet.

A member of the committee who does not want to be named said “we were put under tremendous pressure from the presidency. The chairman was summoned and he has been receiving calls not to invite certain people.”

Daily Trust had on Monday reported that even Speaker Aminu Waziri Tambuwal was pressured by the presidency and the ruling People’s Democratic Party (PDP).

Closing the public hearing yesterday, Lawan said the committee will be fair to all and called on the Federal Government to implement whatever recommendation they will come out with.
