9  Forum / Politics / AC (ATIKU) VS NIGERIA..........WHICH WAY FORWARD on: 8-11-2008 04:58 PM
"Former Vice President and Action Congress (AC) candidate in the 2007 presidential election, Atiku Abubakar, returned to Nigeria yesterday after almost three months abroad, with optimism that he would unseat President Umaru Yar’Adua at the Supreme Court".(AN ILLUSION I GUESS)

Atiku who spoke to THISDAY last night through his media consultant, Garba Shehu expressed optimism that the 2007 presidential election would be cancelled(REALLY?) because “it was characterised by massive irregularities.”(DO U AGREE WITH HIM)
“Nigerians must learn to stand up to defend and protect their own right, otherwise this country will never achieve progress and development. Democracy will continue to elude this country so long as the people will not rise in its defence,” Atiku said.(WHAT HAPPENED DURING HIS TIME AS A VICE PRESIDENT)
The former Vice President reiterated that he was technically excluded from the presidential race until five days to the election.
“His exclusion from the race cannot be swept under carpet. He believes that his team of lawyers has done an excellent job in articulating these points at the  Supreme Court. So, we are confident that the election will be nullified, because this is not the type of election we deserve as a people,” Shehu said.(NIGERIANS WILL SPEAK IF WE DONT WANT UMARU I GUESS)

AC WHICH WAY FORWARD....................LEAVE NIGERIA ALONE
10  Forum / Politics / THE RACE TO THE WHITE HOUSE on: 4-11-2008 06:34 PM
Barack Obama defeated John McCain by a landslide today … but, so far, only in two small hill villages in New Hampshire.

Dixville Notch and Hart's Location have just 115 residents between them and kept up their tradition of being the first to cast their votes on election day.

The usually Republican strongholds went for the Democratic candidate by a big margin.

In Dixville Notch, Obama notched up 15 votes to McCain's 6. In Hart's Location they voted 17 to 10 in Obama's favour, with two voters going for the libertarian candidate, Ron Paul. The Independent candidate, Ralph Nader, got no votes in either village.

The village also identified the very first voter in the election to be Tanner Nelson Tillotson, after his name was drawn out of a bowl. He said he voted for Obama and "wasn't surprised" by the candidate's win.

Dixville Notch had only voted for a Democratic candidate once before. In 1968 it bucked the national trend by voting for Hubert Humphrey rather than the Republican Richard Nixon, who went on to win the election.

The villages take pride in getting every voter to the polls at midnight on election day. Each voter gets an individual booth so there are no queues.

12  Forum / Politics / Re: CAN THE NORTH SURVIVE WITHOUT NIGERDELTA OIL? on: 1-09-2008 11:05 AM
well, diff people with diff opinions....
From what we have in Nigeria now, the north cant leave without the niger delta oil. tell me what else gives the nations its largest revenue than oil and gas. if the north tells me that they can go back to their farms and make a great deal out there, then i have to ask what powers the machinery that does the work .........
politically we see the north coming into then oil and gas sector than Niger delta people because they know that the oil and gas business GIves them the money they take to their farms.
how much can a farmer in Nigeria (north) have compare to that of oil and gas.
The best is not to compare because the Niger delta holds this nation.cheers
