Fuel was N105 during Yaradua time.
It was subsidized to nearly N70 two months to 2011 Election campaigns i.e ending part of 2010. it remained So through 2011 i.e for a year, because of certain delays two months to end of 2011.
1st Jan 2012 its N140.
N70 increase in price.
N70/2 = N35
N35 + N70 = N105 (Yaradua's Price i.e nothing changed).
This means fuel was not actually subsidized. by Dec 2012 GEJ will have taken back what he gave to Nigerians as fuel subsidy for 1year i.e all through 2011.
He's a genius southerner ingenius.
It was an election strategy, and it worked perfectly well. Infact the mention of fuel subsidy alone during his speech at the PDP primaries, earned GEJ a standing ovation, if you remember. It won him people hearts and support.
It was planned all along.
Pray for the innocent in Nigeria.
