1  Forum / Naijapals Base (Metro life) / Dangote refinery to employ 8,000 engineers, create jobs for 85,000 Nigerians on: 5-09-2013 01:31 PM
Abuja -  The President of the Dangote Group, Aliko Dangote, said about 8,000 engineers would be needed for the smooth take off of the nine- billion- dollar Dangote Refinery/Fertiliser plant in Ondo.
Dangote told State House correspondents on Wednesday in Abuja that the project, when completed, would provide direct and indirect jobs for 85,000 Nigerians.
He said the group had secured a 3.3 billion-dollar credit facility from a consortium of banks for the project.
According to him, importation of petroleum products will end by 2016 as the plant will commence production in the next three years.
He said his plan was to make the country self-reliant in petrochemical and petroleum products, as well as make it an industrial giant.
“Now, Nigeria is going to be taken out of the list of countries that import petroleum products. We will produce 20 million metric tonnes which is equivalent to what Nigeria consumes currently.
“Today, we did the signing ceremony, the vice-president came to witness the signing but we insisted on coming to  thank Mr president for his policies .
“Without good government policies, there is no way the private sector can invest in Nigeria, because we are not Father Christmas at all. The policies have to be right,’’ he said.
According to Dangote,  Nigeria currently spends about 30 billion dollars annually on importation of petroleum products.
He said the complex planned by his group would make Nigeria a net exporter of petroleum products, including diesel and aviation fuel, as well as poly-propylene and fertiliser. (NAN)

2  Forum / Naijapals Base (Metro life) / Deportation Saga: Governor Fashola Seal’s Orji Kalu’s Lagos Home on: 14-08-2013 02:48 PM
The issue of Deportation of Igbo’s people in Lagos state back to their state is hottest trending social news in our environment recently. About few weeks ago Lagos State Government under the leadership of Governor Babatunde Raji Fashola deports some Igbo’s people’s back to their state.

Have being criticizes by various Igbo’s leader’s including former Abia state Governor Dr. Orji Uzor Kalu while Amnesty International has in fact put the number of Lagos State residents deported by the Fashola administration at over 9,000.

The Lagos State Government has sealed a property of a former Governor of Abia State, Dr. Orji Uzor Kalu, in Park View Estate, Ikoyi, Lagos.

The sealing of the house is coming on the heels of the criticism of Fashola by Kalu over the deportation of 72 residents of Lagos, who are of South East origin.

The Igbo men and women were dumped by the Lagos State Government under the bridge in Onitsha, Anambra State, in the wee hours of the day.

Dr. Orji Uzor Kalu criticizes and request apologies from Governor Fashola over the deportation of the Igbo’s peoples and threatened to sue him.

Reacting to the sealing of the Park View house of Kalu, his Special Adviser (Media), Emeka Obasi, said it was done as a revenge for the criticism of Kalu, who is the Coordinator of Njiko Igbo, a group fighting the cause of the South East.

Obasi said the property had been there for several years and that sealing it after just two weeks of his boss criticsing Fashola over the deportation issue was an indication that there was more to it

Ghanian actress Juliet Ibrahim has lashed out at the handlers of ailing producer, singer and song writer OJB Jezreel asking them ‘to reach out to the right people and stop harassing celebrities for funds’.
OJB has been diagnosed with kidney failure and has made a passionate appeal to the general public to help him raise the $100, 000 (approx 16 million naira) needed for a kidney transplant.

Juliet also countered this stating that a kidney transplant should cost no more than $50,000.
Read the rest of the post she dropped on her Instagram page…

Her statements has been met with mixed reactions from the public.
Meanwhile, more and more celebrities have continued to reach out to the ailing singer as pop twins PSquare and their elder brother Jude Engees Okoye donated five million naira. Also Kukere master Iyanya and his manager Ubi Franklin have donated 1 million naira. Don Jazzy, Mercy Johnson and Rugged Man have already made their donations to OJB.
The singer had earlier granted an interview stating that his appeal for help is not directed to any one particular group of personalities.
“It’s not like people are coming there and making 50 billion naira donations. People have brought in 100 naira, 1,000 naira and I appreciate this. If you’ve seen me in the past ten years, you’ll know it’s not the same OJB you knew.” He said.

Juliet, i think you mouth is for sure becoming too wide this days. Think you need someone to shut it for you & i will do just that.

If Wizkid can damage a #50Million Porche Panamera car in less than 2 months

If D'Banj can wear a #3Million suit just for a show

If Davido can refer to a #10Million endorsement deal as chicken change

If P-Square can buy just a property for #400 Million

If Don Jazzy can pop a $1.5Million champagne

And the many others...

Why can't they put heads together and donate just $100,000 (#15Million) in just 24 hours?

Its obvious there's beef in the industry.

If all these big artistes don't save OJB JEZREEL with their money, God punish anyone who goes to studio to produce "Tribute to OJB'.!!!

16  Forum / Naijapals Base (Metro life) / 104 Boko Haram suspects set for release on: 15-06-2013 11:13 AM
About 104 suspected members of the Boko Haram sect, currently being held at the Kirikiri Minimum and Maximum prisons, Lagos, might soon be released.

Chairman of the Presidential Committee on Dialogue and Peaceful Resolution of Security Challenges in the North, Tanimu Turaki, disclosed this to newsmen, yesterday, when he led the committee on a visit to members of the sect in the prisons in Lagos State.

The visit, according to Turaki, who is also Minister of Special Duties and Inter-Governmental Affairs, is to interact with those who are being detained in connection with acts related to terrorism.

He said: “We have interacted with them and they have responded to us very sincerely and frankly.

“I think I can say that we have been well informed about most of the issues that we are interested in, as a result of the interactions we have had with them.”

The Chairman explained that the committee will make appropriate recommendations to the government as far as the issue of their release or non-release is concerned.

Turaki said: “The issue of release usually is contingent upon certain conditions. We are more concerned, for now, with the release of vulnerable people. And in this group of vulnerable people we have those who the security agencies have not been able to pin anything on.

“We have seen those who the Director of Public Prosecution has advised that they be released. We have also seen some of them who security agencies themselves have conceded that they have not been able to make out any case against.”

The chairman further noted that with the committee’s interaction with more stakeholders, it had become more informed.

He said: “We have been given suggestions all of which will assist us in ultimately making our recommendations to government and I can assure you that the committee is on top of the situation as far as the issue of dialogue is concerned.”

He also noted that there will be impact assessment at the end of the day, “because we have been asked to study the situation carefully and to make appropriate recommendations for victim support.”

“I assure you that Nigerians will be very proud of this committee at the end of the day.”

Late Agidigbo’s creator, Fatai Rolling Dollar has been buried. The burial of the late Highlife music sage, Fatai Olagunju took place at his uncompleted building site in Ikorodu, Lagos state. Veterans like Ebenezer Obey, King Sunny Ade, Prince Adekunle led other musicians to receive his corpse from the hospital in Surulere.

According to information, Islamic prayer was made for him at his Oko- Oba Millennium Housing Estate, given to him by Lagos State former governor, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu. Shortly after, his remains was moved to Ikorodu axis where he was finally laid to rest.

The octogenarian left behind 16 children and many wives. It’s so amazing that out of the 16 children, none was able to raise the controversial N29, 000 to balance his medical treatment until his death. May his gentle soul rest in peace.
18  Forum / Naijapals Base (Metro life) / Why we prefer live human beings – Suspected parts dealer on: 13-06-2013 09:17 AM
Though its a bit lengthy but its worth reading for us all to be wise and vigilant...

Operatives of the Special Anti Robbery Squad, SARS, Ikeja have arrested three fleeing members of a syndicate who allegedly specialized in selling live  humans and decomposing human parts for money rituals.

Their arrest came barely three weeks after some of their  members were paraded at the Lagos State Police Command, where they confessed to have sold live human beings for N40,000, hands—N4,000 and head—N8,000.

Those recently arrested are Gazali Akewadola (60), the native doctor  who allegedly offered N40,000 for a live human being, Alfa Taofeek Akinola  (35) and Kazeem Sanni (25).

The suspects
To the bewilderment of all, Gazali confessed that live human beings were cheaper than buying dead human parts, saying all parts of a live human being are vital in the preparation of money ritual.

For instance, he said a life human being was bought for N40,000, “but at the end of the day, you get a lot of  expensive parts  from it. Aside that, it is even more potent  because the efficacy of the charm or concoction  prepared with live human parts cannot be compared with the ones prepared with dead parts.

“When a life human being is killed, one will get fresh blood which is used in preparing some charms. The same body will also give you hairs from private part, head and some  mustache which are used for other ritual purposes. The private part is also very useful for the preparation of effective concoction. The head, flesh intestines, liver, heart, eyes, lips and tongues can be used for pepper soup which is usually very delicious than that of animal meat. I usually take the pepper soup so as to assure those who patronize us that it is not harmful. It also fortifies one spiritually.

“If you buy a full human being for N30,000 or N40,000 and pieces it, you will end up getting N100,000 or more because you will get more than 10 parts that will yield more money for you.”

Gazali who hails from Folahan, Ado-Odo in Owode Yewa Local Government Area of Ogun State, further said: “I am an Islamic teacher and a cleric. I own an Islamic school in Owode Yewa. I am also married with eight  children. I am also a native doctor. I cure people of  their ailments and help those who want to get rich quick, by using human parts to prepare charms and concoctions for them.

We use soft bones to cure epilepsy

“Most of the human parts I bought were sold to me by  Kazeem Sanni.  He used to sell dead human head between N3,000 and N8000, depending on the market price. The soft bones that can easily be grinded into powder are very cheap. It is just for  N1,000. It is used to cure ailments like epilepsy.”

Asked why he did not use any of his children since he has eight of them, he said that would reduce the potency of the ritual concoction, adding that its potency depended solely on strangers being used. He said their victims were usually abducted from Lagos State and beyond, with the use of charms.

He further disclosed that  aside the N40,000 paid to Sanni to get him a live human being, he gave him another N5,000 and a charm to hypnotize the male victims. But he said the plan almost failed as Sanni was almost caught. He, however, expressed regrets that despite the use of human parts to make other people rich, he ended up not only being poor but arrested along the line.

Money ritual charm changed my level

The second suspect, Alfa Taofeek, who is also an indigene of Owode Yewa in Ogun State confessed to have bought a human head from the third suspect, Kazeem, which he grinded and mixed with local gin.

According to him, “it was to enable me get rich. I am a Muslim cleric and I have been making people rich through this means but became jealous at a point and decided to get rich as well, since I was unable to get enough money from my clients.

“After drinking the concoction prepared with a human head, I got more customers and made more money. I even threw parties on a monthly basis to celebrate my new level.

“I also used part of the money to sponsor the graduation ceremony of some of my students in the Islamic school known as Alfa Taofeek Islamic School, at Owode Yewa.”

Customs officers lured me into money rituals

On his part, the third suspect, Kazeem Sanni, claimed to have opted for the money ritual business due to frustration from Customs men.

He said: “At a point, business was no longer moving because Customs men at the border were always seizing the goods, at the end of which their owners would force me to pay for them. I became frustrated even contemplated selling my father’s landed property. I decided to consult Alfa Taokeek Akinola to find out the cause of my predicament. He instructed me to get a human head in order to be rich. After that, he requested a live human being. I attempted kidnapping someone so that I can cut off his head but it was not possible. He then instructed me to exhume dead body from the graves which I did and got him three at the rate of N3,000 each.”

Their arrest, as explained by spokesperson for the Lagos State Police Command, Ngozi Braide, was in compliance with the Commissioner of Police, Umar Manko’s directive to SARS  Commander, Abba Kyari, to get the fleeing suspects, after the arrest  of three members of the syndicate on May 15, 2013, with human parts.

The same Newspaper said he once served six years regarding a murder case..
even then 10 year sentence is severe for stealing a fuc-king mobile phone and attempting to commit fraud…
Yes he should be punished appropriately…

The powerful can loot billions and be pardoned.
All I am saying is where is fair justice? Not that I have any pity for him.

The judgement is fair enough. He didn't jst steal the fone but, also used it to dupe/scam people. For being able to steal a fone frm a gov'nor amidst a tight security means he is a hardened criminal.
