Forum / Naijapals Base (Metro life) / Re: Christmas Day Madalla blast: Detained suspect escapes |
on: 17-01-2012 06:43 PM
| To all doubting thomases, the story is confirmed, our Police are useless, what they only perfect in doing is to harass innocent civilians and extort money from them, but in dealing with criminals, I ranked them 0%. At last they sacrifice a life of an innocent man for the suspect to escape, if their bullet can hit an innocent man who wasn't the target, why can't it hit the real person who was their target???!!!

| U people don't get it. All resorces belong to the federal govt irrespective of the region, but the point is that we want Independence...we don't want to be called Nigerians...do you get it now?
My dear, who are we do you refer? I didn't see GEJ refusing to contest to become Head of State of Nigeria. So, who wants independence? Of course, you as a Nigerian are free to renounce your citizenship and choose another country. I don't see the president asking to be independent of Nigeria or those at the helm of affairs in your region. So, let's forget this idle talk of independence. It will never happen. The better we realise this and join hands together to build a virile and prosperous country the better.

| Thank you bro! they don't know what it means to have everything but you don't have access to it. We have enough to feed the whole Nigeria but our people from the Niger-Delta are living from hand to mouth.
My guy, go and read the constitution of Nigeria before you start saying ownership of Nigerian Land and by implication the resources beneath and above it belong to you or any tribe besides the Nigerian Nation. Whatever resources you have will be those you cultivate on the land leased to you by government through devolution or you use your hands to manufacture under licence.

| its u and ur entire family dats mugu, people like u will never make Nigeria a better place to live in,d problem with nigeria is tribalism and d day we stop practicing dat ,then we will have a better, for ur information i come a niger deltan and my is d oil well of d nation, grow up and smell d coffee
You are very right, my dear sister. Truth is bitter and less refined minds will rather insult you than contribute to the debate. It has been a condition of the Nigerian Constitution right from independence that all land belongs to Nigeria and not the tribe that settles on it. Go to Iran, Saudi Arabia or even Libya the ownership of the mineral resources of those countries belong to the national government and not the tribes on those lands. It is true past governments, both federal and state have neglected Niger Delta but it is being redressed through the amnesty programme of the late Yar'adua. So, this discordant song we keep hearing some misguided minds singing about Niger Delta owing the resources of Nigeria is a confused noise of the unenlightened.

| Nigeria's problems has been down to tribal and religious differences for a long time now. Although i am a Niger Deltan from an oil producing community, i don't think i am in support of the action of Asari Dokubo. I can see reasons for his actions (he's just being a loyal brother, though it's sentimental). Does anyone remember the riots in Kaduna when Goodluck won the elections? the threats from Boko Haram? Truth be told, most of us do not like the way Jonathan is ruling us, but the a huge majority of northeners do not like Jonathan because he's a Christian and from the Niger Delta ( they showed this by their actions even before he assumed office)....let's stop the conflict, respect our differences and live in peace. One Nigeria.
True, plus corruption and the so-called leaders are playing one tribe against the other while helping themselves in the mist of uncertainty and anarchy.

| You gave up too soon. Today is MLK Day in America and we fought to the death for the freedom and rights Blacks deserved. We expect Nigeria to do the same. You might need to rethink about your unions because our unions make sure we are paid when we strike. They also get us the results we ask for and not back down.
In Nigeria a fistful of dollars can work wonders. You may wonder what in heavens' name those that died sacrificed their lives for? I only hope those shameless unions that called people onto the street will demand full compensation for the family of those fallen heros!

on: 25-11-2011 09:55 PM
| @ bonecrusher, you're wrong by saying that i'm trying to fan the embers of tribalism,i believe in the concept - the more the mix the more interesting and inteligent it gets, but in the nigerian case, this idea is not working ,the problem in the north has been brewing for a long time, like an active volcano, that is bound to erupt at the slightest provocation, the housas and the igbos have nothing in common, our cultures are different, our religion is diferent, our outlook on life is different, plus other inumerable factors, with all this mountain of differences, i think it will be difficult for Nigeria to become a succesfull nation ,with mutual respect and tolorence among the tribes, but despite all this odds , the igbo man embraced federalism and extended his hand in peace from the moment the civil war ended and adopted all places in nigeria as home, but still igbos are often singled out for condemnation and perscution by the housas and thier fulani sidekicks,Nigeria is the theater of the absurd, it doesnt only cast the igbos as the villains, but often casts real villains in leading role, let me cut to the chase, In these turbulent days of nigeria peace must be anchored in security, and the truth is that the housa/fulani should let that happen by reining in thier extremists, we've done ours, they can if they want to, they should remember no body has a monopoly of violence. And you never mentioned that Gay bastard cadanre!? oh she/he's hausa therefore beyond reproach.
@ escapedprince, In truth what you said made sense. I prefer to address you on this comment and will revert to Cadanre hereafter. I sympathise with the families of the victims of these senseless killings - being they Ibos or any tribes. My understanding is that these atrocities were sponsored by those who stood to gain from anarchy and miseries of others. They may be foreign powers actively seeking to retard the progress of this land of many blessings or local kingpins formenting troubles. Nigeria should rise beyond when some people are above the law. How do we go about this? By probing the sources and wealth of big shots like OBJ and IBB among others and pursuing the renegade boko haram to their desert hiding place. They are just foot soldiers lacking basic education being manipulated by enemies of progress. Then again, we have GEJ who is sleeping on the job!
