Well that is London. Back to naija here where criminals have the say on the streets. They can boost of been untouchable provided they have political god-father to look up to and you never dear them. They are laws in themselves. Some time in the past on a Sunday Market day in a small Benue town of Adikpo, same event happened. A fight between two people resulted in a riot which saw the unforgetable looting of traders goods by unidentified persons some of whom where from their Sunday Services in the churches. Till today, nobody has said any thing about this incidence. It only remained in the minds of the affected traders. This is only the one I was also a witness as a boy of about 5 years though today I am 27. Many similar stories remain untold in the minds of many traders across Nigeria. The worst is that real criminals are almost never caught. Even when they caught, they are soon set free to do even worst sins. When a criminal is caught, he is remanding for long without been charged to court. When eventualy he is charge to court, their is always no tangible evidence to convict him of the crime and he is soon set free. We need surveillance cameras to help us in crime investigation in Nigeria and this will only be possible if there is constant electricity to power these cameras and the storage devices. |
