You are the ignorant one here. CAF upgraded the competition to U23 AFCON, no longer 'Championship'.

Refreshing, very refreshing. Makes me begin to have some hope in Nigeria again. Even better than the shoddy stuff with Pistorius in SA.

Truly disturbing. I will follow up this story, the innocent corps member should be freed. Nothing, however can be as disturbing as most of the comments and some reckless posts I usually find here. With the possible exception of angesco, people just write anything that strikes their distorted fancy; the reason I have increasingly spent less and less time here.

Nice! But the racism in unillorin is high! Its difficult to get admission if you are nt a muslim or an indigene

'Racism'? Did I read right? Hmmmmm. Can we just offer you and others here that actually responded to your 'racism' accusation to go back to primary school and be better tutored. For you never meant anything of that sort. You probably had in mind tribalism, religious and ethnic bigotry and stuff like that. But you introduced a term that is almost completely foreign to Nigeria. You and your respondents simply have no idea what racism means. Real trouble for our country.

The most precious and expensive things in the world are all covered and hard to get. Like pearls you have to go deep down the sea they're hidden between the rocks in a shell or diamonds hidden on earth cover with mod like gold you have to dig deep down the tunnel hidden between rocks. I have got lot to get busy with for now.just hang on am back sooner than your expectations. An incurable malady affecting your race..

David and Tobias, you got to take things easy. I know you have unlimited opportunity to send in comments here, but be careful, a lot of people are reading this stuff; you never know! David I've counseled that you watch your use of English. For example, are you sure you know the meaning of the words 'race', 'ethnic group' and 'tribe'? Plus both of you are not making much sense even in content.

Thank you for this.I always tell you that you are one of the few people in this forum that I can reason with.I might have used some words that were not particularly appropriate because I was in a mood,I am sorry for that. But that notwithstanding.I still challenge you to make some research about the coup.I was not around when the coup happened.I was not around during the civil war.I was born after all that. But I am one that likes to read and make researches.I am still saying that Awolowo was the man behind that coup. Please read everything about the coup, you will come to the same conclusion.I try all my life to be a better man.I try all my life not relate with my fellow human being on the basis of tribe, race or even class. But it is always very annoying when some people from a certain part of the country continue to denigrate your people out-rightly and impliedly. We have a great country,a country with great people, our only problem are the political class.Instead we use our energy on ourselves instead of concentrating our energy to our common problem.Take you time, make your research, come back again and we shall reason this INBOX.I will give you my facts.Cheers

Pa Ladipo and Martins, finally I feel a bit relieved. This is beginning to look like the kind of conversations I would rather have on this site. But I remain troubled that most times we think too highly of our so-called tribes and ethnic groups. Martins, I clearly understand your anger; it is called the problem of induction. Because certain events in the past produced certain effects in the past, so we have to think that similar events in the future will produce the same kind of effects as in the past. (A person says he is not a thief, but anytime he passes by, something gets missing). But if you think very deeply about it, induction is not always true. A man's involvement may all be circumstantial. Yet, I'm not defending Pa Awo, for the man who coincidences incriminate still has to answer some tough questions. However, even if you find that people from a particular part of the country or the world in general seem to behave in a particular way (to be sure, in many cases people form opinions about others based mostly on hearsay), you should not conclude everyone from there will behave in that way. Plus in today's Nigeria, we mix up a lot so much so that I do not see that we can identify anybody as quintessentially  Efik, Ibibio, Igala Igbo, Ijaw, Hausa, Tiv, Urhobo or Youruba. We may not know it, but times have changed, so seeing yourself as an Igboman or Yorubaman or as belonging to a particular ethnic group is a bad habit we should by now have shed. I maintain that almost all our past and present leaders have cheated and are still cheating us and they are the ones we should begin to hold accountable. The Civil War, like all wars in human history was avoidable. I have read almost everything on that war and I am persuaded that all, and I maintain, all the calamities could have been avoided with more purposeful leadership. Please pay particular attention to the very fact that even before the coup, the elected leadership had all but collapsed. If we want a better Nigeria, we must change our thinking and begin to shop for credible leadership regardless of geo-ethnic and religious leanings....

my problem is that the Yoruba's are the worst human you can ever come across on this earth, bunch of fools, betrayers, backbitten and cowards, just as they betray the great Igbos during the war, they have start it again, the idiot call Obasanjo have betray  Jonathan, i hope those useless south south will now know that they are idiots too, when the great igbo show them love they chose to follow their enemy.
Iyabo, you and your father and rest other Yoruba are nothing but monkey,  how can you denied that letter, will you also denied that your monkey father did not phyuk your brothers wife? if your father is a good father why did him phyuk your brothers wife? am very sure he dey phyuk you too, because that monkey called Olusegun Aremu Obasanjo can do any thing.
all i said here is truth nothing but truth.
LESS I FORGET, LET NO USELESS AND LOW CLASS  YORUBA WRITE BACK AT ME, BECAUSE IF OF YOU DO THAT I WILL VEX AND TALK MORE. NDI ALA.

I thought for a while before writing a reply to your senseless comment.. Where in the world have you been to ? how many people have you met in your entire life before jumping into that absurd conclusion that the Yorubas are the worst Human you can find on earth..The truth about most Igbos is that you don't know the history behind the Nigerian civil war you listened to what your leaders back then told your illiterate parents and that is why you keep saying you were betrayed by the Yorubas, the war was between Nigeria(not Yoruba) and Biafra...I am not here to give you reply to the rest of your senseless comment because but to tell you that you still need to learn a lot about Nigeria and about the Yorubas..You also need to understand politics that is if at all you passed through school and exposed enough to know that all our leaders are just stupid regardless of where they come from....

I earnestly want to believe that neither of you, none of you on this cite, actually mean all these invectives that keep flying from all angles given the slightest provocation. For I am very sure that many of you are either graduates or undergrads. So, how could your comments be so devoid of civility and maturity? How could you be so bigoted in everything one can be bigoted about (ethnic group, religion, culture and so on)? Where is all this hatred oozing out from; to the point that even your use of English is constantly thwarted by your inordinate anger? Angry with who? Fellow poor and hapless Nigerian? Exactly what our real enemies (the political class) would pray for. Wake up Nigerian youths!

Recall that earlier this month, some 22 members of the PDP also defected to the APC, despite an attempt by the PDP National Chairman, Bamanga Tukur, to stop the move.

The decampment of the 37 reps was announced during the Plenary session of the House today.
