201  Forum / Relationships & Romance / A man has impregnated a woman and her daughter who is the man’s girlfriend. on: 15-06-2010 08:42 PM
P.M.NEWS investigation revealed that the woman is Mrs. Daisi Falilat, 42, who resides at 21, Jidesola Aweda Street, Afolabi Bus Stop near Igando, Lagos, Nigeria.

She is 4 months pregnant for the man while her daughter, Wemimo Daisi, 19, a 200 level student of Business Administration at the University of Ilorin, Kwara State, is 7 months pregnant for her boyfriend, Bidemi Ajayi, 25.

Hell was let loose recently when the woman was beaten silly and stripped in public by her daughter when she discovered that the two of them were pregnant for the same man, Bidemi Ajayi.

Speaking to P.M.NEWS, Wemimo Daisi said: “I have been befriending this man since I was in secondary school at Offa Grammar School, Kwara State and I was contemplating getting married to him before the end of this year.

“I have also introduced him to my mother and dad’s family, since my dad died when I was 7 years old.

“I never thought of this shameful thing from my mom. I discovered my mom and boyfriend were dating when my boyfriend visited me at my Aunt’s place at Agbowo U.I., Ibadan, Oyo State. I was just playing with his phone and I saw a message which reads: ‘Bidemi, my love, how far did you say what? I need to abort it quickly before my daughter gets to know since she is 7 months pregnant for you.”

“I was shocked and immediately confronted him when he came back from the toilet. Though he denied it initially, my aunt also read the message and he later said it was true and that I must keep it secret.

“I left Ibadan for Lagos and confronted my mother who opened up that it happened. I got annoyed and I fought her to the extent that I tore her bra and pant. I think I will have to abort the pregnancy even if I am going to die because I cannot forget this ugly incident.

“If I get married to this my boyfriend he would also do the same thing to my daughter. When we called the police, they told us it was a family problem and the police should not be involved in the matter.”

Bidemi admitted that he impregnated his girlfriend’s mother.

In a chat with P.M.NEWS, he said: “It was not my intention to impregnate mother and daughter but something led to it. One day, I went to greet my girlfriend’s mom and she just started touching me and I told her that I was going to report to her daughter and she said I would regret if I did so.

“When I left her place, my manhood became limp the following morning and it remained like that for 3 days without an erection. It appeared as if she had caused my organ to go limp.

“I was shocked and afraid to tell my girlfriend but I opened up to a friend of mine who took me to a spiritualist at Owode Egbado in Ogun State for help. The spiritualist told me that my problem was caused by my girlfriend’s mother.

“He said the only way I can overcome it was to have sex with her. I then went back to her and when she touched me, my organ came alive again and I have been having sex with her since February 2009.”

Asked if he had no inhibitions about sleeping with mother and daughter, he said: “Even if you were in my shoes, you will do the same. So, I have no regret.

“After I found myself in this situation, I told my girlfriend not to abort her pregnancy while I want her mom to get rid of hers.”

P.M.NEWS was at Igando police station where the case was reported. When mother and daughter dragged themselves to the station, they were told that the incident was a family affair and so they should go and settle it amicably.

When P.M.NEWS confronted Mrs. Daisi Falilat, she confirmed it but declined to comment further on the issue. Their neighbours were shocked over the development, and wondered how the man could have impregnated the woman and her daughter at the same time.

Wemimo later left for Ibadan, Oyo State to see her aunt on what to do next.

The electrocution of a 49-year-old pastor with the Redeemed Christian Church of God, Festac, Emeka Okafor, and a man who attempted to rescue him, Chinedu Onyeka, has not only thrown the residents of Sammy Suites Close, 41 Road, Festac Town, Lagos State, into mourning, tongues have been waging in the neighbourhood as to who was responsible for their deaths.

An eyewitness told PUNCH METRO’s correspondent that after it rained heavily on Monday night, Sammy Suites Close became flooded as usual due to lack of drainage channels in the area.

He said the flood, which was about three feet deep made the residents to stay indoors, while many motorists abandoned their vehicles.

The eyewitness said, “The rain was so heavy that it left Sammy Suites Close heavily flooded on Monday. As soon as the rain began at about 8pm, the Power Holding Company of Nigeria switched off the light. Thereafter, a hotel, Sammy Star Suites, put on its generator, which provided security light for the residents and the place.

“As soon as the generator came on, the areas became hazardous and started shocking because the feeder cables had become dysfunctional. So, when the pastor came back from where he went, he saw that the entire close had been submerged in flood. He decided to park his car outside the close as others did. When he got into the flood, he held on to the cable pillars to enable him to wade through the flood and he was electrocuted. He started screaming for help, but people were unable to offer help because of fear that they might be shocked too.”

He said that as people converged on different spots outside the close discussing the gory tale, Chinedu, who just returned home volunteered to rescue the pastor.

PUNCH METRO gathered that as soon as Chinedu, who had earlier been warned by neighbours not to embark on the rescue mission, stepped into the flood, he, too, was thrown off balance and got drowned.

He said the area became deserted until when the Chairman of Amuwo Odofin Local Government Area, Mr. Ayodele Adewale, in company with some divers and PHCN officials, came around 11pm.

It was gathered that the rescue team later brought out the lifeless bodies of Chinedu and Okafor and subsequently transferred their remains to the morgue of Navy Reference Hospital, Ojo.

Okafor‘s younger brother, Kenneth, said, “Unknown to him (Okafor) as he was wading through the flood that he got himself trapped in-between electricity feeder pillars which had become dysfunctional and was shocking. The shock flung him forcefully into the flood and buried him there until help came later, by that time he had died.”

Chinedu’s mother, Theresa, said with the death of Chinedu, life has lost meaning to her as the deceased was her source of strength since she lost her husband some years back.

She fingered Sammy Star Suites as the killer of his son, saying that if the hotel had not put on its generator when the rain was falling, her son would not have been electrocuted.

She urged the government to investigate the matter, saying that the existence of the hotel had been a source of concern to the residents.

But the hotel’s Proprietor, Mr. Samuel Umeh, however, disagreed with Chinedu‘s family that it was the security light he supplied to the close that was responsible for the death of the duo, arguing that the light had been installed for more than five years without such incident.

He said the generator was only switched on when the officials of the LG and divers came for rescue operation so as to provide light for the operation.

He said that he was not aware if the electricity he provided for the street was dysfunctional since nobody had told him about it, stressing that he should not be blamed for the incident.

Efforts to speak with the LG chairman were unsuccessful as his phone was not going through.

Commenting on the development, spokesman of the State Police Command, Mr. Frank Mba, said the scene was immediately visited by policemen from FESTAC Police Division.

He said that the corpses had also been taken to a public mortuary for an autopsy and that the case was under investigation.

203  Forum / Naijapals Base (Metro life) / Family loses five children, dog, after amala meal on: 19-05-2010 01:18 PM
The air was thick with sorrow as Mrs. Peju Ogunlusi, a middle-aged woman from Ayegunle-Ekiti in Ijero Local Government, Ekiti State, asked, ”Please, where are my children? I don‘t know what is happening?” Her question wasn‘t directed at anyone in particular, but if it had been, none of the people gathered would have answered. Such was the sorrow.

Peju and her husband, Kayode, lost five of their children after a meal of Amala (cassava flour) at the beginning of the week on Sunday.

One of the children died on Sunday, two died on Monday at the hospital, while the remaining two died on Tuesday after the doctors lost the battle to save their lives. The family‘s dog, which also ate from the meal, died three hours later.

Kayode gave the names of the children as Iyabo, 18 year- old, Rotimi, 12, Pelumi, 8, Abigael, 5 and the baby of the house, Ade, who was said to be around four year-old.

The meal was prepared by Peju, who is heavily pregnant, and one of her daughters. Kayode‘s second wife, Abigael, had been hospitalised at the Ado-Ekiti University Teaching Hospital after the meal, but she was treated and discharged on Tuesday.

Although Kayode also ate the meal; he was not affected. However, doctors are still battling to safe the live of Ogunlusi‘s nephew who also ate the cassava flour meal.

Ogunlusi, a farmer, told journalists amidst sobs that, ”My first wife, Peju, prepared the ewedu soup and the fish stew, while Iyabo prepared amala. We ate around 8 pm. but about 4 am, Peju started vomiting and this continued until she became very weak.

”After we took care of her, about 10am, Iyabo also started complaining of stomach ache. I took her to a private hospital, but she did not respond to treatment, she also became weak. Within a short time both of them could not talk again. The kabiyesi (monarch) heard about the incident and he visited us. He called the Commissioner for Health who sent an ambulance to come and convey all of them including the other ones to the teaching hospital here.”

Ogunlusi confirmed that the five dead children were children of his first wife, Peju. He said Peju was aware of the death of one of her children but the family was yet to inform her about the death of other four.

He stated that the cassava flour was processed by the family and it was ground at a mill. He wondered how the food was poisoned.

While the incident has become the talk of town, family members were suspecting a foul play. But a doctor at the hospital, Olusoji Abidemi, said although no autopsy had been conducted, he suspected that the cassava was not well processed.

The doctor, who confirmed that the first child was brought dead into the hospital, added that if the cassava was not well processed, the cyanide in it might be poisonous.

204  Forum / The Buzz Central / St. Janet’s CD Banned on: 20-02-2010 09:03 AM
Lewd singer, St. Janet, is now in fresh trouble as the body responsible for music promotion in Nigeria, Music Advertising Association of Nigeria (MAAN), has placed a ban on her album.

Speaking with P.M. Entertainment, the National President of MAAN, Alhaji Waheed Oyediran, said that the association decided to place a ban on the singer’s work because of the lyrical content of her live audio CD which the association considered immoral.

Oyediran said that the association has instructed all its members to ensure strict compliance with the new directive, adding that a task force has been constituted and empowered to arrest any member who advertises or plays the work.

While accusing the CEO of Galaxy Music, Ahmed Adepoju, of aiding Shina Ayo Oyinlola, the artiste’s promoter, to sell the CD, the MAAN president said: “We discovered that Galaxy is responsible for the distribution of the work titled Faaji Series. We called him to a meeting and warned him and the promoter to stop the distribution, but instead of stopping it, they began an underground distribution of the offensive work.”

The MAAN president, however, promised to do everything within his capacity to ensure that the record is taken out of circulation, saying, “no matter what it will cost us, our association should set a good example not to encourage bad music.”

Earlier, President of PMAN, Admiral Dele Abiodun had placed a ban on the offensive work, while the unrepentant St. Janet said her music is not for kids but adults and that her  greatest critics are her fans.

Since she released the controversial music, she has been derided by right thinking members of the public. Some have even gone to the extent of calling her the Jezebel of this generation.

Senate Makes Jonathan Acting President

Seventy-eight days after President Yar’Adua left Nigeria for medical treatment in Saudi Arabia, the Senate today endorsed Vice President Goodluck Jonathan as Acting President.

Jonathan does not have to be sworn-in to enable him discharge his functions as Acting President.

By this declaration, the Senate has effectively ended the political logjam created by the long absence of President Musa Yar’Adua.

In taking this decision today, the Senate relied on the telephone interview Yar’Adua granted the British Broadcasting Corporation, BBC, on Tuesday 12  January this year.

In that interview broadcast on the Hausa Service of the station, the ailing President said: “At the moment, I am undergoing treatment and I am getting better from the treatment. I hope that very soon, there will be tremendous progress, which will allow me to get back home. I wish, at this stage, to thank all Nigerians for their prayers for the nation.”

Since Yar’Adua failed to write to the National Assembly informing it of his trip for medical treatment and that his deputy, Goodluck Jonathan be sworn in as Acting President in accordance with Section 145 of the 1999 Constitution, the Senate had to rely on the BBC interview to confer the power to act as president on Jonathan.

After an initial close session that lasted about 45 minutes, Senator Yakubu Garba Lado (PDP Katsina) kicked against a motion moved by Senate Leader, Teslim Folarin and seconded by Deputy Senate Leader, Ike Ekweremadu, asking the Senate to rely on the BBC interview in place of a letter by the president asking the senate to swear-in Jonathan as Acting President.

Senator Lado maintained that the letter to the Senate must be in writing, adding that the motion smacked of mischief.

The Senate stood down all other items on the agenda for another legislative day in the course of debating the political impasse caused by Yar’Adua’s absence.

After today’s deliberations, Senator Smart Adeyemi said the nation can now move forward and emphasised the need to ignite a review of relevant sections of the constitution.

In his reaction, Senator Patrick Osakwe said he is optimistic the House of Representatives will also align with the Senate in the interest of the nation. Meanwhile, the Senate will meet with governors today in the Hearing Rm 301 of the Senate  Building.
