1  Forum / Relationships & Romance / Re: ‘Would You Ever Move Back To Nigeria? – Nigerians in US React on: 24-03-2014 04:52 PM
14 yrs away but i still visit every yr. The people are great and way too welcoming but the country's really lacking information becos its leaders and media feed the public with the stupidity of America which the public aspires to practice. We've lost our morals and have become uncomfortable in our skin. Out here it is an everyday struggle to be Nigerian as our reputation is totally damaged.

Nigeria will continue to be as it is until its inhabitants get up and do something about it. The country needs more information about the truth of our history and how it was stolen from us, re-written by foreigners and yet we worship the same people that killed us. Its even sad how another nation's language was forced upon us yet we value it more than our native tongue. You'd never see an American dissing his fellow man for not knowing how to speak Yoruba, but you can catch a Nigerian dissing anotha Nigerian for not knowing how to speak or use Phoné. Our mentality is still 150 yrs back because we choose to let our families and ancestral ways to  always decide our path. The only thing pushing revolutionary actions now in Nigeria is Social Media but its not for the better. Now everybody wants to be a celebrity. Being a nurse or something that actually contributes to society is not kool anymore. Kim K and all the other media sluts are now the women that kids of this generation idolize. Look at the current state of marriages in Nigeria. Its all about the goodies now, no longer brains. everybody wants Big Nyash, A Six pack, A Hot Selfie, a muscular guy etc

Education is power but Self-Education is wiser. Pick up a book that teaches you a new skill and teaches you how to garner the knowledge to Excel and exceed those harsh circumstances of life. Nigerians are highly intelligent individuals with little opportunities but when given, we perform excellently.

I love Nigeria but I hate my Passport (especially cos it costs more than a Foreign Passport yet we are still a 3rd world country).

Have a nice day y'all

IF YOU ARE A MAN

1. Go out with your boys, bag a very attractive broad and get laid.
2. Engage in emotionless segxwal encounter whilst respecting your sex partner
3. Keep yourself extremely busy
4. Cook more, eat more and treat yourself to the thangs that make ya happy

IF YOU ARE A FEMALE

1. Go out with the gals, bag a very attractive dude and get bent
2. Engage in casual sex without emotions attached. But hey, dats hard for women, so if you are the weak type, just wank.
3. Keep yourself extremely busy
4. Go shopping with the gals, eat less and treat yourself to thangs that get your excited and happy

IF YOU ARE CONFUSED

1. Spend more time alone reading books
2. Upgrade your game. Cos being gameless won't get u sum'n sum'n
3. Get a job you hate. Dat way you can occupy your mind with sumn heavier than your break-up. Funny thing is, in weird and annoying situations arise the best of one's self and lessons to learn.
4. Take a vacation. Go to Abuja and feast your eyes on a more organized standard of living. Lagos can frustrate you cos once you walk out your door, someone is guaranteed to piss you off. Dats why when i'm home i drive in Lag, I bus in Abj. The daytime mingle aint worth it in LAG but the time's sure worth it in ABJ.
5. Conceal your true identity more often from then on, cos after a break up most people give out more about themselves without knowing they are doing so.
6. Spend time with older folks. Its like upgrading your playlist. Them folks upgrade your knowledge about the opposite sex.

There you have it. Raw, uncut and affirmative.
