1  Forum / Hardware, Networking and Mobile Phones / Configuring a single-area OSPF for a network topology of three Cisco routers and five networks on: 4-09-2018 01:58 PM
The Open shortest Path First (Ospf) is one of the best internal routing protocols deployed by network engineers on enterprise networks. Apart from being an industry standard, it keeps all possible routes to a destination, making it the internal routing protocol with the fastest convergence time. The link state routing protocol is supported across different vendors platforms. In this demonstration, I will share with us on how to implement single-area OSPF on a network topology involving three routers with two WAN links and three local area networks between them.

Facts about OSPF
It has a default administrative distance of 110
It supports classless addressing and variable-length subnetmask (VLSM)
It is a link state routing protocol
It supports manual route summarization
It keeps all available routes to a network
It converges quickly
Its uses cost to select the shortest path to a destination network.

Implementation
I will start from Router 1. On this router, I will set the hostname, assign IP addresses to interface s0/3/0 and interface f0/0, and configure OSPF in area 0. See the commands below:

Router 1
Router>en

Router#conf t

Router(config)#hostname Router1

Router1(config)#int s0/3/0

Router1(config-if)#ip add 192.168.4.1 255.255.255.252

Router1(config-if)#no shut

Router1(config-if)#int f0/0

Router1(config-if)#ip add 192.168.1.1 255.255.255.0

Router1(config-if)#no shut

Router1(config-if)#exit

Router1(config)#router ospf 1

Router1(config-router)#network 192.168.1.0 0.0.0.255 area 0

Router1(config-router)#network 192.168.4.0 0.0.0.3 area 0

Router1(config-router)#no shut

Next, I will configure Router2. On this router, I will assign IP addresses to the two serial interfaces as well as the f0/0 interface, configure hostname for the router and configure OSPF in area 0 for the three networks. The two serial interfaces on router2 are DCE and as such, will be clocked. See commands below.

Router 2
Router>en

Router#conf t

Router(config)#hostname Router2

Router2(config)#int s0/3/0

Router2(config-if)#ip add 192.168.4.2 255.255.255.252

Router2(config-if)#clock rate 64000

Router2(config-if)#no shut

Router2(config-if)#ip add 192.168.5.2 255.255.255.252

Router2(config-if)#clock rate 64000

Router2(config-if)#no shut

Router2(config-if)#int f0/0

Router2(config-if)#ip add 192.168.2.1 255.255.255.0

Router2(config-if)#no shut

Router2(config-if)#exit

Router2(config)#router ospf 1

Router2(config-router)#network 192.168.2.0 0.0.0.255 area 0

Router2(config-router)#network 192.168.4.0 0.0.0.3 area 0

Router2(config-router)#network 192.168.5.0 0.0.0.3 area 0

Router2(config-router)#no shut

One Router3, the configuration will be similar to that of Router1 save for the networks. See commands below:

Router 3
Router>en

Router#conf t

Router(config)#hostname Router3

Router3(config)#int s0/3/0

Router3(config-if)#ip add 192.168.5.1 255.255.255.252

Router3(config-if)#no shut

Router3(config-if)#int f0/0

Router3(config-if)#ip add 192.168.3.1 255.255.255.0

Router3(config-if)#no shut

Router3(config-if)#exit

Router3(config)#router ospf 1

Router3(config-router)#network 192.168.3.0 0.0.0.255 area 0

Router3(config-router)#network 192.168.5.0 0.0.0.3 area 0

Router3(config-router)#no shut

3  Forum / The Buzz Central / Get glo 6GB for 3k on: 29-01-2016 09:38 AM
Nigerian  telecom giant, Globacom is giving subscribers 6Gbyte of data for three thousand naira. If you are one of those who complained of not being able to get the Glo 6GB for 1500 naira, well you can now have 6GB for three thousand naira. The good thing about this, is that you don’t have to change your APN, and unlike before when you get 4.5GB for 3k, now you get a whooping 6GB
All you have to do is dial *777# and follow the interactive SMS prompt.

4  Forum / The Buzz Central / How to browse anonymously on: 28-01-2016 06:34 PM
Your browser knows a whole lot about you, and it shares that information with a great many strangers. From your passwords to your usernames, emails, numbers on credit/debit cards, pins, etc. As simple as it is to protect these information when browsing, so many of us ignore the dangers that come with the usual way of browsing.
Your browser almost certainly has a private mode where it  won’t save cookies, searches, or history. In Chrome, it’s called New incognito window. In Internet Explorer and Edge, it’s called InPrivate Browsing. In Firefox, it’s New Private Window. But it’s not perfect. Your ISP can still see where you’ve been, and every site you visit will still see your IP address.
An even better solution is to use the Tor browser, which hides your IP address and encrypts everything for most of the journey between your PC and whomever you’re communicating with. You can think of it as a very private private mode.

6  Forum / The Buzz Central / How to display your android phones' screen on tv on: 28-01-2016 03:09 PM
It is now possible for you to extend your android phones’ display to your TV. This is useful for showing presentations, displaying pictures, or even playing some cool games. .
So how does one go about casting the screen of an Android device to a television? It's quite simple, actually.

1 Make sure you have the Chromecast app installed on your Android device. You can download it    from the Play store.
2 Ensure that you're connected to the same Wi-Fi network as your Chromecast.
3 After opening the Chromecast app, slide out the menu and select Cast Screen/Audio.
4 Tap on the yellow button, followed by the device you'd like to connect to.

7  Forum / The Buzz Central / Oracle to employ 1400 professional in Africa, Europe, and the Middle East. on: 28-01-2016 03:06 PM
Software giant, Oracles hopes to cash in on the growing momentum around cloud computing with sale-oriented hire.
Its hopes to achieve this by hiring 1400 cloud-focused professionals across Europe, the Middle-east and Africa to boost the adoption of its platform for off-premise services in the region.
According to the California-head-quartered company's recent second quarter financial results, its cloud activities account for around 7% of  oracle's overall total revenue, and in the past six months, its claims have signed up over 3600 software-as-a-service (Saas) and platform-as-a-service customer (PaaS).
The company's chief technical officer (CTO), Larry Ellison, previously declared that the company is on course to book $1.5bn in SaaS and PaaS deals before the end of this present financial year.
To help take advantaged of the demands for the company's cloud services, the company has decided to increase the cloud sales professional it employs, with emphasis on those with at least two years' experience.
The company will recruit 1400 people to work in six locations in Amsterdam, Cairo, Dubai, Dublin, Malaga, and Prague.
To show its seriousness in growing its cloud sales force, Oracles plans to open sales centres in Amsterdam and Cairo in addition to offices in Dubai, Dublin, and Prague.
The new recruits will be responsible for spreading Oracle's portfolio of cloud applications while helping users tailor their Information Technology strategies to include more of off-premise technology, the company said.
The president of the company, Loic Le Guisquet, said the overall aim of the recruitment process is to make sure that their customers are supported every step of the way in the journey to the cloud.
"We are hiring 1400 sharp, ambitious inside sales professionals across Europe, the Middle East and Africa" he said.
