I quite like the idea of Nigeria presidential nominees taking part in  a debate.

For one it will test their eloquence, how much of Nigeria they really know and their 4 year plan (if any) for the nation.

It will also give us the opportunity to get to know who will become our "first lady" (Nigerian love this USA coined word) and how educated or not they are!!

Of course all the questions asked will have to be vetoed first.  After all we do not want them making fools of themselves for example unable to pronounce simple words like the late Ghana president could not and making a fool of himself (he found it funny - I found it shameful!).  

Everyone is carried away by the USA presidential election. It's nice to be adored.

Pity no one cares about the outcome of our elections - only to tell the world that rigging won again!!!!!!!    

      

I hope the same Muslims will say thank you to England (a Christian country) for accepting to treat free of charge the young Pakistani 14 year old Malala who was shot in the head by the Taliban in her country. They shot her because she was advocating for the rights of women to go to school and become educated. I did not see or hear any Islamic nation wanting to offer medical assistance!!!!  How can they. They are too busy murdering and plundering!!!!

I hate Nigeria.

It is not uncommon around the world for new born babies to have various teats carried out before they are discharged home with their mothers.

Its a pity this is not something done, along with many other things, as standard in Nigeria. Such tests help a long way in determining how well the child really is.

A simple heart test at birth is enough to give a good doctor indications that all is not right and that further tests will be needed in the future.

Simple scans during pregnancies have saved the lives of the pregnant mothers and their unborn child.

How many of our nations footballers handover genuine health check papers to foreign clubs. 

Many families in Nigeria suffer heart defects (and diabetes etc) that have gone unchecked. When the person drops dead (after supposedly being "well") Nigerians ascribe it

to their "enemies."  As a nation, sorry to say, citizens of Nigeria are being let down at every level.

May his soul and the soul of the university students in Mubi and Port Harcourt rest in peace.

It is not the duty of a sovereign nation to protect everyone who flees Nigeria with one claim or another. Very often unsubstantiated claims!

We have Nigerians claiming to be in danger of death because they have been found to be "witches," or because their husbands/wife's died "mysteriously" and they have been found responsible for the death. Now we have someone again claiming to be "gay." All these claims, most fraudulent, paint Nigeria in a very bad light but no one cares - the end justifies the means!

There are many gay men and women going around living their lives in Nigeria without persecution. Go and join them.

During communal clashes one area would sell their captives, whom they considered "enemies" to slave traders with the hope they would be either killed by these slave traders or never seen again. In return they took tobacco, mirrors and other things they considered "new."  It is true that many others were stolen (by these slave traders) however history has proof many were given away. Those given away included those with "deformities" (example - a newborn with teeth in the mouth or one leg longer than the other).  How come the slave traders found it hard to penetrate the north of the country. I suppose you would say the girls of Edo state origin who go to Italy for prostitution are being deceived.  No they are not. They know what is happening but they still clamour to get there and sell themselves. Even the voice of the late first lady who intervened has not stopped them.  We gave away our people to slave raiders to get back at our supposed "enemies" from a neighbouring village!!!  And it is happening up to today.

I agree.  We should forget about their tribe of origin. After al the story was broken by The Mail on Saturday (British tabloid) and they made no reference to their tribe.  They correctly identified them as Nigerians.  So I do not see why an article that has been put on Gistmania to keep us informed, should make any changes to the original headline that simply identified them by country of origin!!!

You should get out more and have a tour of your country.

If I work hard and HONESTLY for my pay packet at the end of the month I will spend it how I like.

Many Nigerians give to various charities and they do not have to publish it in any newspaper.

So if your conclusion is they do not give to the poor, prove it.

This is a very poor message to send out to the younger generation of Nigerians.  If indeed she is smoking marijuana, as you have stated in your headline.  Long years of using this is detrimental to one's health and is known to effect the mind state of users. It becomes addictive and users are known after a very prolonged use to hallucinate. The headline appears misleading. If she is just having a cigarette I see nothing wrong in that!!    

That will be encouraging. As long as they don't make any nasty comment like it was said Muhammad Ali, the boxer did when he visited Nigeria.

He was reported to have said after seeing Nigeria, "I'm glad my ancestors were carried away as slaves."
