He may not have dumped his first love- acting, but  the handsome ‘Andy’ of the “Living In Bondage”  fame, Kenneth Okonkwo who was once married to the daughter of a Lagos-based man of God, Reverend Obiora Ezekiel of Christian Pentecostal Mission, Ogechi, is surely spending his valued time in the courtroom  than he is ready to return to the movie set again.

Kenneth Okonkwo
The actor  has pitched his tent in the legal profession. This explains why he featured in an interview session on AIT, Tuesday morning, where he took on legal issues that are  affecting the Local Government administration in the country.

While the programme lasted, Okonkwo gave a good account of himself as ‘a learned gentleman.’ He proved to the panelists that he was equal to the task.

HVP gathered that  the Enugu State born actor is based in Abuja, where he is plying his trade. The buzz is that the actor- turned- lawyer may be eyeing politics.

Okonkwo  who first read Business Administration in the University of Nigeria, Nsukka, before proceeding  to read law, was called to the bar few years ago. He was said to have  completed his law programme with flying colours.
3  Forum / Naijapals Base (Metro life) / Ed Jatto: Charly Boy Confessed Having A Gay Personality Called Linda on: 6-07-2012 08:26 PM
For some weeks now, the Nigerian entertainment scene has been heated up with an alleged gay story trailing Charly Boy. The said story was published by National Mirror in May 2012.

The controversial story was published on the newspaper quoting Ed Jatto's Danfo Express Magazine as the original story source.

Soon after, Charly Boy threatened a law suit on National Mirror and Daily Independent, which only published the controversial story on its website. The latter retracted the story but the former stood its grounds.

This decision by National Mirror was because the paper believed there is a tape having the 'confession' of Charly Boy with Ed Jatto saying he was a gay and head of illuminati in Nigeria.

Now sure that National Mirror was not ready to retract the story and tender an apology, Charly Boy slammed a 1billion naira lawsuit from Charly Boy on the paper on Steve Ayorinde led National Mirror.

In a twist, Charly Boy challenged Ed Jatto in public for all to hear. He reportedly threatened to drag Ed Jatto in the law suit.

In the midst of all these controversies, Nigeriafilms.com contacted Ed Jatto for an exclusive interview on the matter, which was granted.

On Monday, July 2, 2012, defying the rain, Nigeriafilms.com visited his Alagbado studio for this interview. We requested to have this interview online, Ed Jatto gracefully granted our request.

In the interview, Ed Jatto told Nigeriafilms.com that Charly Boy confessed to him of having a gay personality called Linda. He also said Charly Boy told him he is the head of illuminati in Nigeria.

When asked if the controversial Charly Boy's confessional tape was still with him, he said it is in a safe place.

Efforts by Nigeriafilms to get in touch with Charly Boy was unsuccessful as at the time of writing this story. We hope to also get his own side of the story.

Please listen to the first part of the explosive interview here. We hope to bring the second part of the interview soon. The seond part has more revelation than this one. Please stay with us for it.

5  Forum / Naijapals Base (Metro life) / Cossy Orjiakor And Pamela Anderson's Boobs Controversies And S*x Scandals - Phot on: 6-07-2012 08:17 PM
In terms of geographic location and nationality, the duo of controversial actress, Cossy Orjiakor and popular Hollywood diva, Pamela Denise Anderson might be as far apart as Tokyo is from Alaska but one of the many things they have in common is the size of their br*asts.

While they both possess br*asts gigantic enough to pop them into the headlines, discussion blogs and online forums every now and then, another sphere of their life that unites them is their penchant for controversies.

For Orjiakor, given the size of her enormous br*ast, the attainment of stardom was only a matter of time. This much she proved when she began gracing movie posters where she usually displayed her endowments.

In 2000, she burst into the movie industry via her role in the movie, ‘The Only Nigerian Girl.’ “I just liked the name and I was feeling special then because I was very popular. I was a ‘waka pass’ in the movie but Andy Best ended up putting me on the posters and billboards and I was like Whaoh! I played a half role. It was such a small role that I didn’t even get to talk in the movie but I was everywhere; the posters, boards and everywhere and that was when I became a 100 per cent sure that I would make it in the industry,” she told Simply Samad in an interview.

When she teamed up with popular Fuji act, Obesere, her popularity almost maxed out as the mere mention of her name was enough to start a heated discussion in public; even among strangers.

Her Hollywood counterpart, Anderson (born July 1, 1967) is a Canadian American actress, model, producer, author, activist, and former showgirl, known for her roles on the television series ‘Home Improvement,’ ‘Baywatch,’ and ‘V.I.P.’

She was chosen as a Playmate of the Month for Playboy magazine in February 1990. For a time, she was known as Pamela Anderson Lee (or Pamela Lee) after marrying Mötley Crüe drummer, Tommy Lee. She holds both United States and Canadian citizenship.

The year 2010 might have seen Orjiakor running a low profile but the busty actress and singer paid dearly in 2009 as her reputation was dealt a nasty blow following allegations and wild reports that she had s*xual rel*tions with a d*g.

The fair-skinned actress was crucified in the media for allegedly having s*xual int*rco*rse with a d*g as portrayed on the cover of a soft-sell magazine in Lagos.

In reaction to these reports, Cossy had described the allegations as damaging and lamented the fact that certain individuals were determined to drag her reputation in the mud and destroy her career. Cossy went on to explain that the pictures being peddled in the media was a screenshot from the movie, ‘Itohan’ where she played the role of a girl who descended as low as having s*xual relations with a canine; all in the name of pr*stit*tion.

When the scandal broke, Cossy had earlier approached popular Nollywood producer, Chico Ejiro to buttress her claim of being cast in the controversial film but was dumbfounded when Ejiro kept a straight face and insisted that he did not shoot the movie Cossy was referring to. By implication, he lent strength to earlier allegations that Cossy finds pleasure in making l*ve to d*gs.

Faced with this dilemma, Cossy, upon her lawyer’s advice, filed a legal battle against Ejiro hoping to redeem whatever is left of her battered image.

As expected, she denied allegation and even provided evidence of where the incrimination picture was lifted; a film produced by Ejiro where she played the role of a girl involved in s*xual deviance. Time however appeared to be the best medication for her as she eventually swept the issue under the carpet and moved on with her life.

Away from the extreme scandals, while Cossy appears to be keeping details of her intimate relationships away from prying eyes, the same cannot be said for Anderson whose relationships have made headlines in gossip magazines for years. Anderson married Lee on February 19, 1995, after knowing him for only 96 hours and the couple eventually had two sons, Brandon Thomas Lee and Dylan Jagger Lee.

Her Nigerian born counterpart, Orjiakor remains single but while married to Lee, Anderson filed for divorce from Lee twice and reconciled with him twice, before the couple finally broke up for good.

She however, admitted to newspapers that she still often had s*x with him since their divorce. In March 2002, Anderson publicly stated that she had contracted the Hepatitis C virus from Lee (supposedly from sharing tattoo needles) and began writing a regular column for Jane magazine.

In October 2003, Anderson jokingly said on Howard Stern's radio show that she does not expect to live more than ten or fifteen years but this was misconstrued and taken seriously by many websites and tabloids.

A s*x tape of Anderson and Tommy Lee on their honeymoon was stolen from their home, and made a huge stir on the Internet. Anderson sued the video distribution company, Internet Entertainment Group. Ultimately, the Lees entered into a confidential settlement agreement with IEG. Thereafter, the company began making the tape available to subscribers to its Web sites again, resulting in triple the normal traffic on the site.

Anderson's Playboy career spans approximately two decades (1989–2007) and she has appeared on more Playboy covers than anyone else. She has also made appearances in the publication's newsstand specials.

Anderson’s ability to maximize her public relations skills has seen her emerge one of America’s biggest stars especially on the strength of her achievements.

Orjiakor however, might not be enjoying the same level of media attention as Anderson but she remains one of Nigeria’s most popular actresses as made manifest in her massive fan base. For instance, a foray into her online fan base revealed millions of excited fans expressing their strong craving to initiate relationships of different motives with her.

Some of her fans held no reservations in expressing their feelings towards her. A fan, Emmy wrote: “I miss you; especially your b*obs.”

In a message to Orjiakor, another fan, Morris Ejeregbe appealed to the actress to make more of her daring pictures available. “I love you and I also love your b*obs. Please can you send me some of your fantastic pictures?” Still on the request for provocative pictures, Ezekiel wrote: “Please I need some of Cossy Orjiakor’s sexy n*de pict*res because I’m dying to see her s*xy body.”

While some of her fans are polite in their amorous requests, others seem to throw caution to the wind. And one of such was David who wrote: “Hi Cossy. I love you just the way you are with those your s*xy b*obs. I will like to **** you one day.”

Steven, a fan also joined Orjiakor’s league of s*x-crazed fans when he wrote: “Please, somebody should send me Cossy’s e-mail so that we can talk on how to have s*x.”

Like the fans mentioned above, the list is endless as so many others within and outside the country constantly express their desires to spin webs of romance around the fair-complexioned actress.

So, now that you have all the facts, who would you consider more controversial - Cossy or Pamela?

10  Forum / Naijapals Base (Metro life) / El Rufai: Igbos Are Bombing Our Mosques on: 1-07-2012 06:34 PM
The Former FCT and the indicted BPE boss, Malam Nasir El-Rufai has accused the Igbo Christians as been responsible for the bombings in the North, especially the Mosques.
Malam El-Rufai in his recent twitter post, said that an Igbo man was arrested for trying to bomb a mosque in Niger state over the week.
He accused the Igbos in his earlier facebook post, for been behind boko haram's attack in the North.

A twitter follower of Malam El-Rufai expressed his shock and replied him in the same thread, "Igbo Man?", "Unless d the bomb is fake. Igbo man love his life and business than bombing himself."

The Niger state Police command refuted this monstrous allegation and described it as false and diversionary. The intended bomber was later identified as a Kanuri man from Borno state.

A week ago in Yola, One Bama Habibu who was declared wanted by the Nigerian security was killed in a gun battle with JTF squad, few minutes later, news was that an Igbo man, named Bernard Opara was killed by the JTF, instead of Bama Habibu.

Last two weeks in a Kano, four young men were caught trying to plant explosives in a Mosque. The suspects was branded Igbos, but the timely intervention of the Kano police PRO, who announced that the Suspects were from Kano and Yobe and one of them do worship in that local mosque.

Kaduna church bombing early this month, was dubiously credited to one fake name, Mr Odia. The same name was used as a suicide bomber in Bauchi and Yobe respectively. The police also refuted that intentional misinformation and announced that the suspect is from Katsina state and has nothing to do with the over-used fake name, Mr Odia.

A boko haram ring leader who was arrested in kano in May, 2012, was rumoured to be a Yoruba man. The man claimed to come from Ogbomoso, but on interrogation, he confessed that he is from Maiduguri, but just relocated to Kano. He told the police that he was instructed to claim a Yoruba man.

We should all remember when Al Qaeda in Iraq bombed a Shite holy Mosque few years ago, and their propaganda machine said that it was an attack from the Sunnais. The retaliatory attack lead to the inter-tribal war that left over 197,000 people in Iraq dead in less than 28 months.

This is the same game, Malam El-Rufai and his cohorts have been playing through the social media and words of mouth. They should be aware that this will certainly destroy the corporate existence of our treasured country, if they refuse to apply caution or been stopped now by the security.

It is time to tell Malam El-Rufai, that the patience and silence of Nigerians on his attacks on our peace and Unity should not be seen as cowardice or ignorance. Enough should be Enough. - Eric Odejimba, Maiduguri, Borno state.
11  Forum / Naijapals Base (Metro life) / Uche Jombo: ‘I Had The Wedding Of My Dream’ on: 1-07-2012 11:44 AM
Nollywood actress, Uche Jombo is a darling of the big screen and has been so for over a decade now. Ever since she cut her teeth into acting in 1999 with her first movie ‘Visa To Hell’, she has improved her craft with every production and has had a steady climb up her professional ladder. Now, aside from acting, she owns movie production outfit called Uche Jombo Studios which has been responsible for churning out great movies in recent times.

On May 16, 2012 Uche got married to her beau Kenny Rodriguez at a private beach wedding on the Island of Puerto Rico. Her wedding which took many by surprise has been the talk of the town for several weeks.

In this exclusive interview with Adeola Adeyemo, Uche speaks about having the wedding of her dreams, her husband, her career and more.

Uche is still basking in the euphoria of her wedding. She is happy as she speaks about it, laughs at the pictures, and has a special glow when speaking about her husband. But aside from the excitement of her wedding, chatting with her reveals a bubbly and intelligent personality; someone that has had an interesting career climb and has a lot to share with the world.

Just for fun

On a lighter note now, if you were stuck on a lonely island, what three things would you love to have with you?

My Bible, my water and my husband.

What is your favourite colour?

It used to be black and then I didn’t know when it came to blue. I just go with the flow, I don’t really have a favourite colour now.

Do you cook often?

Yes but not as often as I want to.

What meal do you have the biggest challenge with when cooking?

If I have challenge about cooking a particular meal, I just won’t cook it. Cooking has to be fun for me. It has to be something I know I can make.

Tell me something most people don’t know about you?

I have Insomnia. I called my producer up one time and she was sounding very sleepy and then I checked the time and it was past two am. I had no idea. When people say they have time changes affecting them, not me. I just write or I am in the studio.

The Wedding of her Dreams

The news has been buzzing for a while that you got married in Puerto Rico last month, but you’ve been quiet about it. Why?

Because I have an exclusive publication already on that and eventually, BN would also have it. I also don’t want it to just be all over the place. The whole point was doing something that is totally unexpected. People were busy writing what they didn’t know. I have a right to say this is the information I want out and this is the information I don’t want out. Also because it has stopped being me and now us, we have to continuously agree to how we want stuff done. I am from a different background and my partner is from a different background. We just wanted to savour the moment.

I’m itching to hear more about your wedding. Was it a fairy tale kind of wedding?

It was exactly the kind of wedding I wanted. Every bride has a dream wedding. I had always wanted that kind of simple beach wedding. I went on vacation last year in Puerto Rico Island and I loved it and I said I would like to come back there for my wedding.

Tell me about your husband. Where is he from? How did you meet him?

Contrary to what i’ve been hearing in the media, he is American and not from Puerto Rico. He has been to Puerto Rico twice and those times were with me. Once on vacation and then we went back for our wedding. He is a New Yorker, he works and lives in New York.

Also, contrary to what I’ve been hearing that I met him online, no I did not. He came to talk to me about some business venture and that’s how we started talking. I met him through a mutual friend who is his business partner.

What attracted you to him?

His positive energy, it’s amazing.

How long did you date before getting married?

Not up to a year. I met him last year.

Was there any particular reason why Desmond Elliott was the only Nollywood star that attended your wedding?

He is one of my oldest friends in Nollywood. I don’t know anybody as long as I’ve known Desmond in Nollywood.

Were you able to have most of your family members in Puerto Rico to share your memorable day with you?

No, not everybody.

What is the most romantic thing your husband has ever said or done for you?

He is not like anybody I’ve met before. He is certainly the most romantic person I’ve ever met in my whole life, needless to say that is why I married him.

Wow, that’s really sweet. How did he propose to you?

He actually proposed twice! The first time, we just continued talking. The second time, we went jet skating and I was so scared. The water was so deep, you had to swim like eight feet into the water to get to the bike. I consider myself a very good swimmer but that day, the tides kept pushing me back. By the time I got there, I was so mad, I said “I am so going to kill you” and he said “why don’t you just marry me and then you can kill me afterwards”. And I was like “very funny”, and he said “you haven’t given me an answer”. That was when I knew. Since I didn’t kill him there I said I was going to go back to that exact beach and have our wedding there.

You’re here in Nigeria and he is back in America. How are you coping with the long distance separating you both?

It’s not really long distance because I’m only here when I’m working. When I’m not working, I’m with him.

I know it’s been just over a month now but how has married life been for you so far?

Well, we just started so we are still at that point where everything is rosy.

Is there going to be any name change for you?

There was in the marriage license but because I’m a brand, in order not to confuse people, you can still call me Uche Jombo. Uche Jombo and Mrs. Rodriguez are two different people. One is the brand and one is the wife.

As a four-time Wimbledon singles champion, do you follow any rituals when you’re in England?

I’ve been staying in the same place for the past five years. I always have the same locker. I try not to have too many rituals because I believe that rituals don’t help you win. I used to do rituals a lot and it was crazy. I always had to have everything—my equipment, my clothes—lined up. It was too much. I couldn’t even keep up with all the stuff I had to do, so I was, like, “I can’t do this any more. It’s not helping me win. I’ve got to know winning comes from being on the court, not from whether I put my shoe in the same place.” It was crazy. I still do use the same shower though.

she is crazy!!.....that is the reason why she was played off in french open on first round.

What do you look for when you’re choosing a dress?

I have to see four different sketches, and I look for style and how I feel at that moment. Last year I wore something really huggy, and tight-fit. So I was thinking about doing something a little different, and just really doing more play on color. I thought jewel tones would be great. I incorporate them in some of my collections as well.

Could you tell us about your fashion label?

I have two. There’s Serena’s Signature Statement, which is sold on HSN.com. And I have Aneres, which is my name spelled backwards. I’m opening an online store for Aneres, which is really exciting.

What do you actually design?

I love designing dresses and tops. I went to fashion school, and I’m starting to have to do bags and stuff, and I didn’t do bags in school because my whole thing was dresses. I even did menswear. Bags have been super challenging for me. But it’s fun. I’m also starting a jewelry line. Its going to be part of Aneres. It’s Indian jewelry. It’s fine, expensive, fashion jewelry, but it’s not overpriced. Something like this [she points to a massive silver bracelet with green jewels on her wrist] would be, like, tens of thousands of dollars, but mine is priced a lot less. Finer jewelry, but affordable fine jewelry. I can’t wear fake jewelry because I break out. And I was like, “There are probably a lot of people like that, so I should start a jewelry collection too.”

We read that you’re pretty passionate about your two dogs.

They’re my life. I love them. They’re my girls. One is Jackie and one is Lorelei. They’re bad girls. They’re still not potty trained. They kind of make accident in the house a lot. But it’s OK. Mommy loves them. I don’t discipline them.

Do they travel with you?

They do, but they never come here, though. It broke my heart to leave them. They were in Paris with me. They went all through Europe with me. When I go home they’ll come back with me on the road.

Do they ever go on the court with you?

Sometimes they do. I don’t really like them to go on the court because I’m really focused when I practice. But it depends.

When you aren’t playing with your dogs and designing clothes, you also work on your own line of nail polish.

I did a couple of collections with OPI which was really fun. I love having fabulous nails out there and just being all lady. I introduced a shatter collection [that gives the nail varnish the appearance it is cracked] which, like, all kinds of nail polish companies are doing now. We did some other great colors like Grape Set Match and Simply Smashing. I always wear OPI Serena when I play. I actually did a 240-hour nail course to get my nail specialist certification too. I had a little bit of time on my hands [when a leg injury sidelined me from five tournaments in 2010].

Does having a rich and varied life outside of tennis help you on the court?

I think it helps me. I love being able to have a life outside of tennis. I love playing tennis so much and I can’t imagine not being a professional tennis player. But at the same time I love doing other things and going through the doors tennis has opened for me.
16  Forum / Relationships & Romance / Lagos state makes it a criminal offence to impregnate a woman and desert her on: 27-06-2012 06:19 PM
The Lagos State Government announced yesterday a review of the law enacted to protect pregnant women and their babies. The State Attorney General, Ade Ipaye said that it is now a criminal offence in Lagos for a man to desert a woman he impregnated. At the sensitization programme on the ‘Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2011′ and ‘Administration of Criminal Justice Law, 2011′, Mr. Ipaye said the law was enacted to protect pregnant women and their babies.

He added that the new law makes it criminal for a man to refuse to contribute to the ante-natal and post-natal expenses of a woman he impregnated. “Any person who impregnates a woman or girl and fails, refuses or neglects to contribute to maternity related cost from ante-natal or post-natal stages, is guilty of an offence under section 277 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State and is liable to face the wrath of the law,” Ipaye said.

Ipaye said the old law handed down by the British Colonial Government was outdated, as it mainly reflected the values of the colonial administration. “The review of this law was necessitated by the fact that some of the laws that existed prior to this time were outdated. The review is therefore aimed at reflecting current day realities, as the old Criminal Code Law has become inadequate to address the challenges of contemporary criminality.”

Ipaye, who also doubles as the Commissioner for Justice, said the state criminal law was enacted to regulate public order and provide rules on criminal conduct, among other objectives. He however stressed that the new law has replaced the Criminal Code Law of Lagos State Cap.C17 Laws of Lagos State of Nigeria, 2003, introduced in Southern Nigeria in 1914.
