41  Forum / Naijapals Base (Metro life) / President Goodluck Jonathan Responds to Outrage over his Trip to Brazil | Travel on: 21-06-2012 11:59 AM
President Goodluck Jonathan has responded to the outrage surrounding his trip to Brazil amidst violence and killings in Kaduna and Yobe states.

Yesterday, Boko Haram sent out another threat that June would be a very bloody month as it has planned massive attacks on churches and government buildings in the coming weeks further heightening the apprehension in the country.

Despite this, Nigerians were upset that the President wasn’t in the country to address the security issues and condemned his action.

However, President Jonathan has responded to the outrage saying that he hasn’t responded his responsibilities.

Speaking through his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Dr. Reuben Abati, he said he needed to attend the conference because of its importance to Nigeria and because commitments had already been made on his attendance.

“The conference, Rio+20, is very important and nobody can doubt that. The issues that will be discussed at this conference are also issues that are relevant to Nigeria’s interest. It is also an opportunity for Nigeria to promote its interest in terms of its place in global community.

“The crisis in Kaduna and Yobe occurred almost on the eve of the President’s departure for this event and commitments have been made.

“I think what we can do is to appeal to the opposition not to always play politics with everything; that is the major challenge we face, people always want to play politics with everything.

“If the President had refused to come to Rio, the same persons will turn around and say that there is an important conference attended by world leaders and the Nigerian President stayed away from it.

“It is as if there is nothing you can do to please our people. It is not that Nigeria is going to lose anything by Mr. President’s presence here rather, the country is going to gain a lot from his presence.

“He is here serving the interest of Nigerians, it is not as if he has abandoned his responsibilities.”

Similarly, Nigeria’s Information Minister, Labaran Maku, declared that President Jonathan can rule from anywhere he chose in the world.

Mr. Maku described those criticizing President Jonathan for abandoning the country to travel to Rio de Janeiro, Brazil as ignorant.

Meanwhile, media reports say President Jonathan traveled to Brazil with the largest national delegation comprising of 116 men and women.

•    25 personal aides
•    18 aides of Patience Jonathan
•    2 members of the National Assembly
•    5 Ministers
•    2 Governors, and
•    63 officials from the Ministries of Enviroment, Foreign Affairs, National Planning and Petroleum Resources.

What do you think about the President’s response and his delegation to Brazil?

One of the aides of the Former Presidential Adviser, Timi Alaibe, has come out to deny the rumoured wedding arrangement between between their boss and the beauty queen, Agbani Darego.

A former Managing Director of the Niger Delta Development Commission, Timi Alaibe, has no plan to marry beauty queen and former Miss World, Agabani Darego, one of the politician's aides has told the press men.
This is what he said to www.naijapals.com"I spoke to Timi last night and he is very embarrassed by the speculation in the media. He has no such plan. His immediate concern for now is to raise his children and make them not to feel the absence of their mother who passed on over three years ago."

The aide, who is a long time associate of the Bayelsa politician, said the continued speculation in the media over when and who he will marry had continued to cause Mr. Alaibe intense discomfort.

"Yesterday, it was his daughter who called his attention to the rumour on some online media. Just imagine how embarrassing that could be.

There was also a time that Agbani called him to ask whether he (Alaibe) was making secret plans to marry her without her knowledge."

The aide said the families of Mr. Alaibe and and Ms Darego are related and close and were shocked by the speculation carried out in the media.

"When his wife died, Mr. Alaibe said he won't get married less than five years after her departure, and he is keeping to that. So, if he is going to marry, it is definitely not now."

Mr. Alaibe's wife, Alari, died in January 2009, and there have been speculation over who and when he would remarry.

Mr. Alaibe is currently in London where he is visiting his daughters who are in school there shortly after his glamorous 50th birthday.

Not many people would come out to reveal their s*x experience but for this sensational singing duo, it's a different case indeed as they recently revealed their early involvement with s*x.

They claimed to first know what s*x was at 14 and 15-years respectively. As for Peter, “I had my first experience in 1993 at the age of 14. At first, I felt terrible that I let a woman seduce me. Later, I realised that it didn’t matter and I enjoyed it.”

Paul had this to say, “for me, it was 1994 and I was 15 at the time. The first time was kind of strange. I thought the poor girl would get pregnant immediately and I’d become a father.

"As the thought of what we had done raced through my head, I became afraid, but felt better when I realised I had used a condom.”
www.naijapals.com is not advising children and young ones who look up to them to emulate this act of their early involvement with s*x.

That they are about the richest artistes in the country today is no news as they boast of owning the best properties amongst their peers and recently it was rumoured that they have bought a private jet.

This duo, Peter and Paul have been consistent since breaking into the Nigerian music scene and have won several awards to back up their claim as number one.

I am 30 and my fiancé is 32; we have been dating for over 5yrs now. To get a job was so difficult for both of us, if not we would have been married by now, with one or two kids.

I got a job early last year which earns me 75k per month and I have responsibilities too as I’m currently undergoing my masters program and I’m sponsoring myself through school and I still assist at home sometimes.

My fiancé just got a job early this year and his pay is 55k. I just found out that I am one month pregnant and I’m not thinking of abortion at all. The problem is; we don’t have up to N200,000 in savings but we were planning on working on making up to 400k between now and two months time to carry out a low key traditional and court wedding only.

I will feel terrible moving around with a big tummy and no sign of wedlock; at work, church, anywhere I go... I don’t like the idea and so does my fiancé. We can’t afford a church wedding now as it will be too costly considering the time frame.

My mum has said that none of her kids will marry without doing a church wedding as it makes d marriage look incomplete, though I haven't told her about the pregnancy yet.

Is it really true that if one weds without doing church wedding it doesn't make it complete? Though am a Christian but how important is really a church wedding?

Shan George, the delectable queen of Nollywood who is one of the hottest actresses when she was actively involved has lambasted a lot of married actresses in Nollywood. She said virtually all of them are dogs sleeping around at will and no one sees anything wrong with it.

"Most married actresses in the industry sleep around like dogs and nobody is talking about it. These are people who have been lured to bed with whiff of money by top politicians and bizmen. These same people will be claiming to be happily married feign love to their husbands."

Some of the people who are most hit by this revelation said that, Shan George is probably acting act of frustration as she was married four times but all the marriages packed up like a poorly arranged pack of cards. And also that at the moment, she doesn't have anyone to call husband.

To decant this allegation of being referred to as frustrated person, Shan said her previous marriages didn't fail because of infidelity on her side. "I have never being caught by any of my ex husbands sleeping around. In fact, I am a one-man, one-woman person."

This Shan's expose, www.Naijapals.com gathered, has started brewing controversies in town as some married actresses are saying that for Shan to have known that some of them are sleeping around, it's obvious she has been part of them. 56  Forum / The Buzz Central / CHARLY BOY AT 61:A TRIBUTE TO THE SUPER ENTERTAINER-ADOYI ALI on: 19-06-2012 11:31 AM
It will be an unending hymn for the areafada as he clocks 61 on Tuesday as speculated by most of his fans. What is sure and certain is that CB’s birthday comes up every 19th June, but what is not certain is whether he is 61 considering his enigmatic personality.
However, one thing that is very true about this personality
is the existence of Charlyboy as a brand for the past 30 years with its core values of consistency, doggedness and tremendous focus.

In this excerpt, Charlyboy press Secretary, Adoyi Abah Ali briefly explores the evolution of a brand that has been considered by some Nigerians to be eccentric and weird. Adoyi has exposed that beyond the weirdness lies an embodiment of responsiveness, love, care, understanding, intelligence and creativity;

The Excerpt

Speaking on his social activism, Adoyi had stated that “Charlyboy is a manifestation of love, as he had displayed in his fight for justice. He reiterated that all through his career, he had advocated for the rights of the ordinary Nigerian whose hope in the country is continuously washed away by the forceful wave of corruption and social injustice.  His fight for justice and fair play in the country has been renowned, even the late legal luminary; Chief Gani Fawhemi compared him to the Late Baba Fela because of how the former had always bent to the rank of the oppressed”.

He further asserted that history has it that when Charlyboy appeared on the entertainment business in 1981 a lot of people didn’t quite know what to make of him as he wore heavy makeup, had his hair weaved.  “At that time people were not too sure if he was male or female as he had the feminine mannerism to go with it” Adoyi Opined.

Adoyi had quoted Wole Soyinka’s book, Interventions, Cults (A people in Denial 2005) where he made a viable comment on the Charlyboy brand “Once, a new phenomenon, an unusual social entity, erupted on the cultural scene of this nation. This phenomenon which appeared in human form soon became known for its outlandish mode of dressings, for its body decorations, a love of motorbikes, a weird hair style, and generally weirder life-style. The establishment did not know what to make of him. He was so far out that no one even associated his name with that of a well-known judge whose name he bore, whose social circles he kept at arm’s length, preferring to establish a public persona in his own right. So strange was his persona that the most negative imaginings were rife about him. Gossip was unending and the media could not have enough of speculations regarding what he might do, in what manner, and for how long. You may have realized by now that I refer to none other than the maverick-Charly Boy Oputa”

According to Ali, Charlyboy has ones said  this about his personality brand  “ I have trilled Nigerians for decades with my attitude and life style, I created an image no one can ignore, am everything they think I am a bag of potato chips. This image was built to shock timid, myopic and backwards Nigerians out of their analogue way of thinking; you must have depth and intelligence to see me, because charlyboy is not just about my life style, my tattoos or piercings, it’s about my focus, tenacity, believe in self, my doggedness and my courage to live my life in the Nood in the most conservative environment such as this, I no send”

According to him, while his stunts and showmanship of his image have always been in full glare for all to see, his sensitive nature, love life and deeply rooted family upbringing and values are not. “Have you ever looked beyond the flashy and superficial Charlyboy brand? “ Adoyi had asked.

Revealing further, Adoyi asserted that Charlyboy has for over three decades intrigued Nigerians, letting many people imagine more than is there. He has sure built a Brand and an image that precedes him, and people of now and in the next generation will continue to talk about the brand.

His cooperate life is not as popular as the razzmatazz and the several shows he puts up to intrigue his fans, and to provoke comments and thoughts. Quoting some of his staff, Adoyi said “He is not just a boss but an embodiment of love and direction to all of us. Working with him is the best thing that can happen to anybody. Most people tend to misunderstand the essence of the brand, but a very close proximity will clear the air of misunderstanding”.
Speaking further, Adoyi said “Also very true is that behind the razzmatazz, the playfulness and infinite zest for the comic, lies a serious mien that is more often hidden from the public, as Mr Charles Oputa. He is a Designer, social commentator, social engineer, television producer, a union man, a husband married to the same woman for over 34years, a publisher, a father of eight children and ten grandchildren and more”
“If you have ever visited CB in his abode or in his corporate office, you will be shocked to meet a totally different personality that is often not brought to the pubic glare”
He further affirmed that “His intermediary role as a social activist for the past 30 years has made him a friend to the government at some points, and an enemy to the government at another point”
Meanwhile, the entire staff of new wave productions, a media firm owned by Charlyboy have sent their warm regards to their boss as he clocks 62. Some of the staff who spoke to our correspondent described Charlyboy as an agent of social transformation who has invested in their lives in the most admiring and positive  way.
Charlyboy clocks 61 tomorrow, even as he currently seeks to redress the recent gay and Illuminati story published about him by some national dailies who had allegedly claimed in their publications that he admitted being gay and Head of Illuminati in Nigeria.
57  Forum / The Buzz Central / ‘I’m Not Competing With Aki & Pawpaw’-Ibro on: 18-06-2012 05:15 PM
Pint-sized actor, Ibrahim Mousa, fondly called Ibro, has said that he is not competing with his contemporaries of the Aki and Pawpaw fame.

Rivalry and undue competition is common among Nollywood practitioners, and it has sparked public face-off among many actors. But Ibro, who had been speculated to be competing with Aki and Pawpaw, says there is no truth in the rumour.

According to Ibro, who recently landed a mouth-watering ambassadorial deal with an international outfit, Peace on Campus Initiative (PCI), “Aki and Pawpaw are my friends and colleagues, but it would be wrong for people to speculate that we are competing. Both of them are doing well, likewise myself, so there is basically no reason to compete.

“Besides, there is enough space for everybody to shine and make money without disturbing one another. The industry is very large for everybody and I’m enjoying it.”

Since Ibro was officially unveiled as the ambassador of the organisation under the chairmanship of Oliver Cowell, he and his entourage have been busy campaigning against social vices like cultism and prostitution among Nigerian youths.

Ibro, who is currently in the Eastern part of the country, is expected to cover all the geographical zones of the country before the train will move to foreign institutions, particularly in West Africa.

NollywoodReel gathered that the PCI project is supported by the Federal Government through the Special Adviser to the President on Ethics and Values, Sarah Jubril.

In a chat with NollywoodReel, Ibro said: “It is a massive project and the Federal Government is actively involved too. The purpose of the project is to fight cultism and other social vices that have plagued our tertiary institutions for some time now.

“So far, we have made tremendous impact. To God be the glory, a lot of cultists have renounced their membership through this platform. We will not relent until the vices become a thing of the past in our society.”

Asked if his acting career will not suffer due to his ambassadorial appointment, Ibro said “Not at all. As a matter of fact, I will be doing more movies that will tackle the negative effects of these social vices soon.”
