People can be unpredictably evil & wicked, some representatives of the people suffering all these mayhem, sit with their other colleagues & discuss how to tackle the same terrorist group they sponsor.& shelter. No wonder, the lawmakers always ask for increase in their running cost, they truly have lots of responsibilities.

Na today? very soon their government will come & get him released through the back doors. Where are the Iranians that imported containers of arms & ammunition into the country in 2010? Have you heard anything about them since then? I'm really sorry for this country. Innocent people are dying on a daily bases from arms like this yet, these merchants of death got rewarded with vip release, but if a Nigeria commits a minor offence in their country, they punish him/her beyond what their law stipulates. Tomorrow is sunday Cry Undecided more bombs in our churches, police & Army barracks, schools & colleges. Cry Cry Cry Cry Cry Cry SHAME Sad

67  Forum / Naijapals Base (Metro life) / US Army general nominated to counter terrorist boko haram, others on: 19-10-2012 07:45 PM
WASHINGTON (AFP) – Defense Secretary Leon Panetta on Thursday nominated a former senior commander in Afghanistan as the new head of the military’s Africa Command, which oversees US security efforts on the continent.

The change in leadership comes amid growing concerns over Al-Qaeda’s affiliates in the region, particularly in Mali, and a deadly attack on a US consulate in Libya linked to Islamist extremists.

Panetta said General David Rodriguez, who served as the deputy American commander in Afghanistan and helped plan the “surge” of additional troops in the war, was well-suited to the post.

As chief of the NATO-led force’s joint command, Rodriguez “oversaw the coalition and Afghan forces during the surge, and was a key architect of the successful campaign plan that we are now implementing,” Panetta told a news conference.

Rodriguez, known by troops as “General Rod” and who currently serves as head of US Army Forces command, was touted as a possible chief commander for Afghanistan last year. The job however went to a Marine, General John Allen, who after a year in Kabul is due to hand over soon to another Marine, General Joseph Dunford.

If his nomination is confirmed by the Senate as expected, Rodriguez will succeed General Carter Ham, who played a key role in the NATO air war in Libya.

As head of Africa Command, Rodriguez would help oversee counter-terrorism missions in Somalia, Yemen, Mali, Nigeria and elsewhere, as well as training and other efforts designed to bolster US military ties across the region.

The command’s headquarters is based in Stuttgart, Germany.

Panetta also named General John Paxton as the new number two of the US Marine Corps, as the outgoing assistant to the commandant, Dunford, will soon be taking over as the top US and NATO military chief in Afghanistan.
68  Forum / Naijapals Base (Metro life) / Why I stole baby- 40-yr-old mother of five on: 19-10-2012 07:40 PM
A housewife who stole a one-month-old baby boy at the Abubakar Tafawa Balewa Teaching Hospital, Bauchi, has confessed that she carried out the evil act in a desperate bid to save her marriage.

Mallama Halima, a 40-year-old mother of five children, said her husband divorced her because she could not bear him a male child.

Speaking at the GRA Police Station where she was detained following her arrest, Halima said she was bitter after being divorced. She then decided to steal the baby boy in a desperate bid to return to her marital home. But her action has caused more problems as Halima's husband refused to accept her and the baby. It was learnt that he maintained that he was not the one who fathered the child. Halima's husband, Daily Sun learnt, pressed his wife for details of how she came about the baby and Halima eventually confessed. The husband promptly advised her to return the baby and it was in the process of returning the baby that she was arrested.

Mother of the stolen baby, Hauwa, said she gave birth to her baby on September 14 and was at the teaching hospital and was yet to be discharged. Hauwa said the drama began on that fateful Monday, October 15, when she discovered that her baby was missing. She said, "I was sleeping when the nurse on duty came to administer drug on me. I went to the baby's cot and did not see him. I thought the nurse was attending to him. "When I went to meet the nurse on duty, she said the baby was not with her too. And that was when we started looking for the baby." The missing baby's father, Sani Mohammed, a trader, said the development was a big trauma for his wife because that was her first delivery.

"We reported the matter at the GRA station and as God wants it, not quite long after, the woman who stole our baby and her husband returned it to the hospital." Daily Sun learnt that the incident put the nurse on duty in trouble as she was arrested but Halima, in her confession, said she acted alone. Chairman of the Bauchi State Nursing and Midwives Association, Alhaji Sagir told Daily Sun in an interview that he was optimistic that when investigations were concluded, the nurse on duty would be released. "The woman who stole the baby has been arrested and the nurse on duty is not implicated in any way.

Ours is a respected profession. We are involved in saving human lives, caring for the sick and we are proud of our members." When contacted, the Chief Medical Director, Dr. Alkali Mohammed Alkali, told newsmen that probably the woman capitalised on the opportunity given to visitors and relations of patients to steal the baby. Alkali said the hospital management would henceforth intensify security measures to ensure that such ugly incident did not repeat itself.
