105  Forum / The Buzz Central / 'My Ex-Wife Allowed The Devil Use Her'--Hon. Rotimi Makinde on: 2-08-2012 09:06 AM
Hon Rotimi Makinde representing the Ife Federal constituency of Osun State at the National Assembly Abuja needs no introduction. He has been a frontline Artist, Hotelier and one time top NNPC shot before he voluntarily retired into active politics and won the seat to represent his community Ile Ife. Makinde, one of the close Lieutenants of Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola, the Executive Governor of Osun State, spoke on a number of issues, his experience so far in the House, fuel subsidy probe and finally on the rumor concerning his marital status. Excerpt

What has been your experience so far?

My experience has been so far interesting and very challenging, but I give God the glory that I have been coping and learning very fast. I became the Deputy chairman Human Rights of the House Committee and that really exposed me fast to the rigor of legislative duties. I am also a member of many other standing committees of the House which includes Petroleum Downstream; Finance; Culture and Tourism etc and to the best of my ability, I hope to create reasonable impact to justify the confidence my people repose on me.

Can you comment on the subsidy probe?

It has come and gone, I was personally co-opted into the committee by Hon. Farouk Lawan. I guessed based on my 20 years experience in the Oil industry, I have no regret serving the committee; till today I stand by the report.

What is your view on Farouk Lawan?

He is somebody I love and respect so much, he is a very senior ranking member of the House. I always call him 'Four-Star-General'. It is very unfortunate that this news around him is happening. The House is very committed to the general wish of Nigerians and to do only those things that will promote unity and progress of our dear land; with every seriousness, the House demonstrated that. We met on an unprecedented day, a Sunday while on recess; we sat and resolved to set up the ad hoc committee to unravel the mystery behind the fuel increase that almost crippled the country to stand still. It is on record that the likes of myself spoke extensively on that day to condemn the hikes and demanded an investigation to ascertain the actual subsidy as alleged by the Federal government. In my patriotic manner, I volunteered to work with the committee and I have no regret.

Do you confidence in the house leadership?

I have absolute confidence in them, Nigeria should not forget that for the first time, we at the 7th Assembly chose a popular person to lead us regardless of pressure and intrigues as done in the past. The man, Aminu Waziri Tambuwal whom I had known before my election having schooled in Sokoto State, is a man of honour. He is doing his best to justify the confidence we repose on him.

On a more personal note now, what is your reaction to the news that you parted with your wife shortly after your inauguration as a member of Federal House of Representatives?

This is far from the truth.

Are you saying your wife known as Bolaji Makinde is very much under your roof?

Well in the actual sense, we parted due to some irreconcilable differences. Let me also correct this impression that I parted with her after attaining my new status. This is not true and I am sure those who are very close to us as family know the truth. She voluntarily packed out of my house in October, 2010.

Let us put the records straight. Is Bolaji Makinde still your legal wife?

Bolaji remains the mother of my lovely kids.

Will you be kind to share your marital experience with us?

Let me be quick to let you know that I am not prepared to talk about Bolaji. She remains the mother of my kids, we were together for 17years and it would be improper and unsocial for me to speak evil of her at least in the overall interest of the innocent children. Marriage had taught me lot of lessons, I passed through hell but God has compensated me.

In the past, you have granted several interviews and pour much encomium on this your ex-wife, you celebrated her and described her as the jewel in your life, the pillar, just to give the public the impression that you were very much in love with her (cuts in)

You are very much right my brother, I was very much in love with Bolaji Abiose. We were together as husband and wife until devil crept in and she gave room to the devil and finally fell for it. It is on record that she voluntarily opted out of our matrimonial home a month before her 2010 birthday and as God would have it, God compensated me with the victory of Governor Rauf Aregbesola on her birthday and again five months later, I became a Legislator and a Member of House of Representatives. My case is settled.

Can you tell us what you mean by irreconcilable differences?

I have resolved not to talk about this. I would be ungrateful to God if I say I have not reaped from the marriage. I thank God for all these my beautiful and lovely kids through her. I am not prepared to spoil their joy and I am seriously determined to give them the best of everything they so desire; and to their mother, I have forgiven her because I want God to forgive me and my sins too.

Is there any hope of reconciliation?

Reconciliation! Bolaji voluntarily parted way and packed out of our matrimonial home and I think the Holy Scriptures and our culture also condemn such act. Besides, do you think she could bury her pride in packing back? He or she who never sympathizes or rejoices with you in time of sorrow or joy is a Sadist; Until now, I have refused to speak on the story but it became pertinent to correct negative comments that I opted out of the relationship upon attaining my new status . Well in actual fact it happened before my party got victory in the court which paved way for my easy emergence as a committed member of my party. The sad experiences made me to dread women; my emotional feeling was dead towards daughters of Eve. I have since locked up my heart and warned it to restrict itself to pumping of blood and not to love again but alas! I must confess, I hope to forge ahead. My kids especially the eldest wants me to live a descent life and so I have humbly submitted myself to the will of God to prevail on my next line of action.

So, do we expect a bell to ring soon?

God is the deciding factor, beside am yet to overcome the associated shock.
106  Forum / The Buzz Central / Halima Abubakar Fights Dirty Publicly; Called Expired Maggot, Public Toilet on: 2-08-2012 09:01 AM
"Sweetie, it is very unhealthy for a status chic of your type to lose her cool publicly" was what Nollywood actress, Halima Abubakar was later advised yesterday by a fan of hers when she threw her celeb status in the mud after a confrontation with one of her twitter followers.

The Kogi State-born actress may have forgotten that she was a public figure when she used an 'f' word on the twitter follower that 'crossed' her path.

Trouble started when one of Halima's twitter followers got angry with her after she was begged for a follow back. When the award winning actress declined, the fan tweeted at her, "why forming for me nah? Follow me back, you don't want to. Don't you know that I am your sister?

"Who you be self? You fine reach Tonto, or my queen, Mercy Johnson? You this shortie, you expired maggot."

Breaking the golden rule of 'silence', Halima fired back, "I am nothing, but you followed me. Go f*ck yourself."

This didn't stop here as the fan responded, "I followed you because I want to be seeing your mess up. You this godiga (gold digger we guess the fan meant), smelling 'ascrimate'. Go f*ck yourself, you this public toilet."

Rather than realise that Naijapals.com's amebor eyes would make something out of her 'public disgrace', Halima continued, "and hey expired? You mean your pus*y? Bit*h, I am not 30 yet. So, hey, hop on a d*ck and do a full split."

It became an eyesore to some of her followers that they had to remind her of her status as a celeb. One of her fans told her that she should have remained silent on the issue. She later tweeted, "I have been bullied all my life! I am done."

This is not the first time a Nigerian celebrity would be engaging in a twitter fight. Ruggedman, Goldie and others have one time become victims.

109  Forum / Naijapals Base (Metro life) / Money Ritual: Islamic Clerics Defraud Man Of N30m on: 2-08-2012 08:46 AM
Two Islamic clerics identified as Lateef Ahmed & Fatai Bamidele were recently arrested by the Special Fraud Unit of the Nigerian Police for falsely obtaining the total sum of 30 Million Naira from a Lagos based business man, Lawal Sulaiman.

According to police sources, the suspects took N30 million from Sulaiman with a promise to perform ritual that will make him more popular and wealthy.

Sulaiman said he was hypnotized and held in captivity for three months by Ahmed in Kwara State.

He denied approaching the clerics for money ritual, saying he only sought protection from evil forces.

He said, “I supply fireworks and Bamidele’s shop is very close to mine. I’ve known him for years and I trusted him to the extent that I discuss my personal problems with him.

“One day, he told me that he had a bad dream about me and that I would need special prayers. He said I would need to buy a ram and 40 Qurans for 40 Imams who would pray over the matter. I paid N125, 000 into his bank account to facilitate it.

“After the prayers, he said a superior Imam in Kwara State needed me to come down to Ilorin to eat the heart of the ram. Initially, I was reluctant but he told me it was a matter of life and death. So, I went.”

The 31-year-old victim said when he arrived Ilorin, he met Ahmed who gave him the heart of the ram to eat.

He said after eating it, Ahmed showed him some charms and objects and told him to keep what transpired between them secret.

Sulaiman said, “After I ate the ram’s heart, Ahmed showed me the charms and other objects. I lost my senses

“I came back to Lagos and on several occasions, I gave them different sums of money. Sometimes, I would pay cash, some other times, I would pay into their accounts.”

Sulaiman said when he became broke, he complained to Bamidele about his finances but he advised him to return to Ilorin and talk to Ahmed.

He said the major chunk of the money he gave to the suspects were deposits made by his customers

Sulaiman said, “On getting to Ahmed’s place, I remained there for three months. He kept on controlling me and I wasn’t myself. Sometimes, he would put my phone on private number and tell me to call my relatives and tell them not to look for me as I was abroad.

“He continued to extort money from me until one day when he told me to go back to Lagos to bring more money. When I returned to Lagos, I became myself. I called the two suspects, recorded our conversations and then reported to the police.”

The suspects however said they collected N10m from Sulaiman and not N30m.

Ahmed, 45, said, “Sulaiman told me he wanted to be rich and wanted his creditors to forget his debts.

“I informed him that there are two types of money rituals. There’s the one that a ghost will bring money at once and there’s another one that he will be getting the money daily. Sulaiman said he wanted the latter and gave me N10m as a gift.

“I did not abduct him. He was hiding because he said he owed people. The ritual takes a year to perform and it would have ended in October if not for my arrest.”

Bamidele, who accused Sulaiman of greed, said his share of the money was N2.5m.

“After I did the first set of prayers for him, he said he wanted to become very rich. That was when I referred him to Ahmed. Nobody defrauded him. It was all a gift,” he said.

The Commissioner of Police for the command, Mr. Ayotunde Ogunsakin, who confirmed the incident, said the suspects used the money to buy expensive cars and renovate Ahmed’s building in Ilorin.

He said, “During investigations, it was discovered that out of the N10m, Ahmed gave Bamidele N2.5m while he kept N7.5m.

“Bamidele bought a Nissan Infinity Sports Utility at N1m, while his accomplice bought a Ford SUV at N1.4m and used the remainder to renovate his house. They will soon be charged to court.”

Ogunsakin added that one of Sulaiman’s creditors had written a petition to the SFU.

“The petitioner alleged that Sulaiman collected goods worth N13.2m but had not paid him since October 11, 2011,” he said.(punchng)
Question Of The Day

If you have watched several Nigerian movies, you must have developed the believe that money rituals do have some dangerous consequences.

Knowing the full consequences of their actions, why do people still go ahead and perform money rituals?
