This is the another embarrassing moment for NIGERIA. When it is foreigners that are writing our history for us. This list is not only dishonest, it's deliberate in trying to eliminate the rich history of music and the great contributions of the early progenitors of beautiful music in Nigeria... Fela Anikulapo Kuti, King Sunny Ade, Osadebe, Prince Nico Mbarga, Onyeka Onwenu, Christy Essien Igbokwe, Dan Maraya Jos, Ebenezer Obey, Shina Peters, Ras Kimono, Majek Fashek, Victor Olaiya, Ofege, Evi Edna Ogholi, Harry Mosco, Oliver De Coque, Bongos Ikwue, Sonny Okosun, IK Dairo, Nelly Uchendu, Bobby Benson, Cardinal Jim Rex Lawson, Daddy Showkey (with the popularisation of galala dance), Lagbaja, Sir Victor Uwaifo. This list is near endless.

Common on Nigerians. Let us refuse to have foreign elements write our history. October 1st, 1960 was a lifetime ago. Now we determine our destiny. Apologies to all those on the list, no offense meant but I believe Nigerians of all ages and walks of life should be the ones to determine the best Nigerian songs after the songs have been subjected to the proper rigor of scrutiny and evaluation.

I rest my case.
