1  Forum / The Buzz Central / Re: I'm Confused On Why Christmas Is Celebrated On The 25th -- Tonto Dikeh on: 26-12-2013 06:55 AM
Its not possible for Jesus christ to be born in the month of December. The book of Luke chapter 2 says that it was at the time of a census and that the shepherds were at the the field tending to there flocks when it happened. Now in Isreal and Palestine, the month of december is a winter month, hence everywhere is covered in snow, including d fields. it is not possible to graze flocks when the snow is out. So if actually the sheperds were in the field, it wouldnt be a december
Secondly, Ceasar couldnt have asked for a census when everywhere is cold, during winter because the road would be too difficult to travel on. in ancient times, people travelled less during winter cos even the tiny footpaths then are always covered in snow, nd d cold is always unbearable for someone to be outside for long. I watched some of the Nigerian pilgrims who said recently on NTA that Isreal is very cold this december and evry where is coverd in snow.
I am a christian, and I believe Jesus is the saviour of the world, but i dont believe he was born in the month of december. The actual date of his birth rests in the secret files of the papacy who held sway over Europe in the middle ages. Were our reasons, imaginations, emotions and interests not engaged, we would not and could not learn.
