You can add to the list or remove some of the names, no problems, remember, your opinions are welcome here-:), so have fun with the list Eden Hazard (Chelsea) Papiss Cisse (Newcastle) Tom Cleverly (Manchester United) Emmanuel Adebayor (Tottenham Hotspur) David Luiz (Chelsea) Lionel Messi (Barcelona) David Beckham (PSG) Source: http://wasaafrica.blogspot.com/2013/05/highly-overrated-players-so-far-in-2013.html | | |

Forum / Sports / Luis Suarez future with Liverpool in doubt after apologizing for biting Ivanovic |
on: 22-04-2013 08:10 AM
| Well, even after his groveling apology, it seems an “I sorry” statement will not get the Uruguayan striker out of this one. Liverpool are under mounting pressure to kick out Luis Suarez after he bit Branislav Ivanovic in his side's 2-2 draw against Chelsea. Brendan Rodgers has told Luis Suárez that no player is irreplaceable after the Liverpool striker disgraced himself by sinking his teeth into Branislav Ivanovic during Chelsea's 2-2 draw at Anfield. Rodgers, who initially refused to comment on the situation, said in a statement: ‘Having reviewed the video footage and spoken to Luis, his behaviour is unacceptable and I have made him aware of this.’ Source: http://wasaafrica.blogspot.com/2013/04/luis-suarez-future-with-liverpool-in.html | | |

on: 28-03-2013 09:22 AM
| According to MTNFootball.com, Nigerian and West Brom striker Osaze Odemwingie is set for a sensational Super Eagles return only weeks after it seemed he will never play for Nigeria again. Osaze, who has been in the news since January over his failed QPR move continues to suffer the consequences of his decision and has been at wars with his English Premier League club West Bromwich Albion. In an effort squash old squabbles, the Nigerian striker is being tipped for a comeback even after a recent outburst by the player against Super Eagles Coach Stephen Keshi and some team members. Not sure if this is a good move or a bad one, do they really need Osaze back in the team? Source: http://wasaafrica.blogspot.com/2013/03/osaze-billed-for-super-eagles-return.html | | |

Forum / Sports / Former Tennis Pro Convicted of Forcing Children to Work as Slaves in Michigan |
on: 26-03-2013 10:05 AM
| Former tennis pro Jean-Claude Toviave 'trafficked four children from Togo to the U.S. and forced them to work as slaves in his Michigan home or face "savage" beatings and starvation'. Toviave was sentenced Monday to more than 11 years in federal prison after a jury convicted him in October on four counts of forced labor. He previously pleaded guilty to fraud and misuse of visas, mail fraud and harboring aliens. The 44-year-old former tennis pro faked immigration papers from Africa for some of the children who were in middle school and brought them to Michigan where he forced them to cook and clean while starving and beating them with toilet plungers, broomsticks and electrical cords. Forum / Sports / 2014 World Cup qualifiers:Nigeria and Malawi in tight race for the tickets |
on: 25-03-2013 03:31 PM
| African Champions, Super Eagles of Nigeria were rescued by a last-gasp equalizer on Saturday during their match in home soil Calabar, Nigeria against Kenya in the 2014 World Cup qualifiers. With the results from Saturday’s game, the Super Eagles now have 5 points from three games, and sit at the top of Group F with Malawi who won over Namibia 1-0 in Windhoek. Malawi’s new standing could be cause for worry for Nigeria as the current African Champions are ahead in group F only because they scored more goals than their closest rivals (Malawi) – Nigeria scored three goals while Malawi have netted two goals. No doubt, the draw in Calabar puts Nigeria in a tight corner; The Super Eagles now have two away games and a home match to reach the knockout stage of the qualifying series which will be played in October and November. Forum / Sports / John Mikel Obi calls on the club's supporters to get behind the team |
on: 12-03-2013 02:20 PM
| Super Eagles midfielder John Mikel Obi has warned Chelsea's unhappy supporter about the impact of their negative conduct in the Club’s performance this season. The Blues recovered from a rather dangerous position against Manchester United on Sunday 10 March to keep the defense of the FA Cup alive. Speaking on the issue Mikel says: 'It is natural to lose confidence if things aren't going well. 'And sometimes it doesn't help either when the fans are not happy, when they get at you a bit if you give the ball away. That brings pressure. 'But this is our job. The fans pay to watch and we have a responsibility to give them something back and make sure we play well. Every game we try to do that. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't.
