| The first lady,Dame Patience Jonathan, yesterday, said she had no hand in the suspension of the governor of Rivers State, Rotimi Amaechi from the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP. In a statement, the Senior Special Assistant to the First Lady on Media and Publicity, Ayo Osinlu said the allegation was “not only dubious, but also diversionary, unfair, unkind, and therefore totally unacceptable”. | The rumors of a new “American Idol” judges panel are proving to be true! Now, Mariah Carey’s team has confirmed that the singer will not return to the FOX TV show next year. “W/ global success of “#Beautiful” (#1 in 30+ countries so far) @MariahCarey confirms world tour & says goodbye 2 Idol,” her PR firm said via Twitter. Carey, 43, has already begun to perform again, kicking off the GMA concert series with Miguel last week. | A panel of Court of Appeal judges in Lagos today set aside the N25 million compensatory damages earlier awarded Lagos comedian, Babatunde Omidina " Baba Suwe " over a prolonged detention by the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) last year. In the ruling, the Court of Appeal re-affirmed the right of the NDLEA to investigate, arrest, detain and prosecute drug suspects as long as the agency acts within the law. | Nigeria Super Eagles forward, Osaze Odemwingie and his wife Sarah celebrated their one year wedding anniversary over the weekend. The couple got married on the 26th of May 2012 after 2 years of courtship. The marriage is blessed with a son (very handsome), Noah. Osaze tweeted “Our 1year anniversary today. It’s been a beautiful year! Thank God for His grace....Thanks for the congratulations and good wishes. We are wishing you the same. Lets enjoy the summer. Sorry 4those in SA, its our turn now.”and illustrated their happy marriage with a photo of elephants (see photo after cut) which actually confused some of his followers at first but the smart ones I was able to figure out that the elephants illustrated his happy marriage (dad, mum and kid)...I wonder why he didn't put up a photo of them instead! You will recall that Osaze hasn't exactly been in the good book for a while now following his derogatory twitter rants (which caused some people to assume that he had mental issues to settle) plus his wife was recently accused of being the reason for the problems... | First Weekly Magazine reports that this upcoming yoruba actress Liz Da Silva who recently held her baby shower in May in Lagos in the presence of few friends, is not sure, who is responsible for her pregnancy out of her three lovers. According to tale-bearers within the Yoruba movie industry circle, Lizzy, as she is fondly called by her friends, has allegedly taken her pregnancy to three different men, none of whom has accepted responsibility for the unborn baby. Olamide, who does not want to play the fool at this phase of his career, politely told D’Banj that he was not ready to surrender some of his powers, especially having to be booked for shows only by D’Banj’s management outfit, pleaded for time to even think about the offer as he still wants to work with his present team and taking things as they come for now.
