Health officers in Sapele, Delta State, caught kpomo sellers in Sapele market who confessed to using embalming fluid to fatten kpomo. According to them, they inject the kpomo with the embalming fluid (used in Mortuaries), after which they soak the kpomo in water for a period of time.

This process fatten the kpomo and makes it look delicious. They are currently in police custody in Sapele.

God help us in Nigeria!!!

At the peak of President Goodluck Jonathan’s speech at the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) zonal rally in Owerri, Imo State, yesterday, there was power outage at the venue. Consequently, his speech was no longer heard by the audience and he stopped briefly for power supply to be restored.

When he picked the microphone again, President Jonathan said, “Thank God we are back; no demon shall stop us.”

Some PDP members at the rally expressed delight at the development, saying “since it has happened to the president, he will know what we pass through and do something fast”.

This is a president that promised steady supply of electricity to Nigerians during his campaign for election. He is now blaming demons for his failure.

A bigamist was caught by his wife after she saw a photograph of him grinning with his new Gambian teenage bride on Facebook.

She was declared bankrupt when Smith failed to pay the mortgage and is still waiting for her husband to sign divorce papers, Teesside Crown Court was told.

The 52-year-old was prosecuted for bigamy after he admitted 'hastily' rushing down the aisle with his third wife because he was in love.

The court heard that the day before the wedding Smith signed a petition for divorce from his second wife, which carried a signature purporting to be by Nicolette - but it was faked.
Nicolette admitted she was disappointed that he was given a six-month prison sentence suspended for two years with 150 hours' unpaid work.

'I feel as though he's got away with this and has been portrayed as some kind of victim himself after all that he's put me through. He knew if he responded to my divorce petition, he'd give away where he'd been hiding,' she said.

Discussing the way he was dumped by his new bride she told The Sun: 'She looked so young in the pictures and he looked a little pathetic. I don't know what else he could have expected'.

Smith claimed he was a wronged victim, duped and abandoned by his latest spouse after he met her in Gambia, married her on November 7, 2012 and brought her to the UK.

Smith married his second wife in December 2005. The marriage broke down two years later.
He went missing and her solicitors received no reply in efforts to start divorce proceedings. She then reported him to the police when she found out that he'd remarried.

Smith admitted a charge of bigamy, his first crime but said he had thought he was divorced and that his divorce was 'automatic'.

Nollywood isn’t exactly a haven populated by married women even though most of the women are the most beautiful that can be found anywhere in the country.  Most of the women are either single or divorced and plenty more still searching. Those that have been able to hold on to a marriage have come to accept their lots of being the second wife.

Popular Yoruba Actress, Mosunmola Filani  secretly got married to Simeon Oduoye in Ibadan not too long ago.

The light-skinned Yoruba actress, as we were told by an industry source, was full of surprise getting married to Simeon, who is believed to be a woman’s guy.

Information gathered revealed that Mosun secured the love of Simeon at the expense of Yemisi, Simeon’s wife at the time.

Mosun, who once had hot romance with Odunlade Adekola and Muyiwa Ademola, was said to have hijacked Simeon to herself, thereby making him pay less attention to his wife, Yemisi, who has two kids for him.

Mosun has gone on to bear the man a baby girl and their marriage seems to be in ship-shape with no detectable cracks of any discord.

Trouble started in my relationship with Amara early last year when she started going about with one fat lady in our area. Although we live in the same house, after I went to see her mum and also took her to my family in Delta State, but I hardly touch her at night, unless I struggle before she will allow me do anything.

Since she started following the fat lady, she changed her name to Amyy and I was told it was the lady who got a job for her in the bank. This 57-year old man, identified as Denis Amayo, on Tuesday told journalists in Benin City, the capital of Edo State that he will commit suicide on lovers day, 14th of February, 2014, if Governor Adams Oshiomhole fail to pay his pension arrears before then.

    What does he want to kill himself because of money?                                                               Mr Denis said: "I am my father’s first born. It will be immoral of me to task my younger ones to bring money for [my father's] burial while I cannot bring anything for the burial. I need my eight months pension arrears to bury my father."

Denis said he served Edo State government for 35 years in the Ministry of Agriculture and retired in August last year. He lost his father recently and needs the money to bury him, as his corpse is still in the mortuary.

Mr Denis insisted that if Governor Oshiomhole refuse to pay him his entitlement, he will sacrifice his life to raise awareness for other pensioners owed several months of unpaid pensions. More..

Niger Delta militant leader, Mujaheeden Asari-Dokubo, has insisted once again that his kinsmen in the oil-rich Nigeria Delta would burn down Nigeria if President Goodluck Jonathan failed to secure a second term ticket in 2015 presidential election. He said APC must not pick a Northern candidate if they do not want trouble.

    “If it is war the North wants, we are ready for them because Jonathan must complete the mandatory constitutionally allowable two terms of eight years. At home, we have regrouped and we have put our people at alert.

    "In less than one hour, the way we would strike, the world will be shocked. If anybody does anything against Jonathan, we will retaliate. What we will do will shock the whole world. We will cripple the economy of the country not only in the creeks, but also on the nation’s territorial waters, no vessel will be allowed to enter Nigeria’s territorial waters."

Speaking in an interview with National Mirror, Asari insisted that the people of the Niger Delta would make the country ungovernable if President Jonathan is not re-elected even in a free and fair election.

The militants’ leader said APC should field a presidential candidate from South-South to challenge Jonathan in the election. Asari-Dokubo said the people of the Niger Delta would not accept the defeat of Jonathan, and that the President must be allowed to rule for eight years (that is 10 years).

Warning the North, Asari said: “Let them not try anything. If they abuse Jonathan, there is no problem, he is their President but anything that will affect the interest of the Ijaw people and the interest of the entire people of the Niger Delta will be resisted at any cost.”
Asari-Dokubo also vowed that the defeat of Jonathan in a free and fair election would trigger crisis. He said: “Jonathan cannot be defeated, they cannot defeat him, they don’t have the right, every part of the country must have equal stake in the presidency of the country. Let them go and sleep in their houses. If they don’t, they are looking for trouble and we are going to give it to them."

 The will of former South African President and world hero, Nelson Mandela was read to his family members today February 3rd.

Reading the 40 page will, Deputy Chief Justice Dikgang Moseneke said Mandela's third wife, Graca Machel, is entitled to half the estate under South African marital law but could waive her claims and opt for specified assets that include properties in her native Mozambique. Machel has not made a decision on whether to weave her rights, Moseneke said.

The will directs that each of his children and some of his grand-children are to receive $300,000. His upscale Johannesburg house, where he spent most of his life after being freed from apartheid prison, would be home to his deceased son Makgatho's children.

His longtime domestic staff including his personal assistant, Zelda Le Grange, also shared in the fortune with 50,000 rand each.
 
Mandela's Political Party, the ANC, is to receive royalties from his political books and testimonial adverts. The monies is expected to help propagate the ideologies of the party.

Local Schools in South Africa he attended as well as the Wits and Fort Harte Universities also benefited from his will as funds were provided which would be given as bursary and scholarship to students.

The will, which was first written in 2005 and amended in 2008, is open for contest within 90 days.

    An undergraduate of the University of Ibadan, 28-year- old Orowo Jesse Omokoh, has been arrested by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission for allegedly obtaining Ninety Thousand Dollars ($90,000.) from one Mrs. Jette Jacob, an Australian based in Johannesburg, South Africa, in what is known as a romance scam.

    The suspect allegedly met the Aussie on a dating site and struck a sizzling romantic affair that necessitated him moving to Johannesburg in 2013 to link up with his lover.

Omokoh allegedly arrived in Johannesburg, South Africa on February 4, 2013, to meet with Jacob who had been in Johannesburg since November 2012. Five days after Omokoh arrived and took up residence with her, Jacob was found dead in her apartment with some of her valuables missing. After the incident, Omokoh reportedly fled South Africa and returned to Nigeria.

The South African Police which is investigating the mysterious death are suspicious that Omokoh has a hand in the demise of Jacob.

On March 15, 2013, the EFCC received a petition from Richard Stanford of Australian Federal Police, asking for help to track Omokoh, alleging that the Nigerian defrauded Jacob to the tune of $90,000 in a dating scam.

The Commission swung into action almost immediately but the suspected fraudster had been elusive until a few days ago when he was nabbed. He has already made useful statements while efforts are on to track his accomplices.

The suspect would be arraigned in court as soon as investigation is completed.

Toyin Obadina, an Assistant Editor with Saturday Newswatch Newspaper was on shot in the stomach by unknown gunmen while on his way from work on Friday January 31. He died two days later on Sunday February 2nd after a surgery was done to extract the bullet that was lodged in his stomach.

Recounting what happened, his wife said Obadina was approaching the Parafa end of Imota Road in Ikorodu when 2 SUVs coming from the opposite lane intercepted his car. Obadina came down from his car and surrendered to the men, asking them to take all they want but not harm him.

She said the men slapped him and shot him in the stomach. When he attempted to run, he was shot in the stomach a second time before the robbers fled.

Obadina was rushed to Gbagada General Hospital and later to Lagos State Teaching Hospital, Ikeja, where he died on Sunday. He was 50 years old. He is survived by his wife, three children and an aged mother. May his soul rest in peace...amen.
