A 32-year-old undergraduate, Emeke is said to have committed suicide in Igbiegwa Quarters, Ute-Erumu, Ika North East local government Area, Delta State because his manhood was not working well.
It was learnt that Emeke who was an undergraduate of the Delta State University's futile effort to make love to his girlfriend but his manhood kept failing led him to commit suicide by jumping into a well inside his family compound.
Apparently in a bid to find a lasting solution to his predicament, it was gathered that he visited several churches, where he was asked to embark on 31 days fasting and prayers to restore his manhood, but all to no avail.
Emeke who had been receiving several complaints from his girlfriend about his inability to satisfy her promised to make it up to her.
 
In an attempt to try out the outcome of the fast, they checked into a guest house on Monday, but it was still the same as his manhood disappointed him again.
According to a family source, who gave his name as Emilia said on that fateful Monday, after the incident at the guest house, Emekus, as he’s fondly called sold his clothes and shoes after which he left a suicide note on his bed.
Emilia described the circumstances surrounding the act as rather mysterious.
The deceased was said to have been buried after his family paid the fine fixed by elders of the community, who described Emeke’s action as an abomination.

The President of the defunct Niger Delta Peoples Volunteer Force, Alhaji Mujahedeen Asari- Dokubo, once again took a swipe at President Goodluck Jonathan, stating that the Nigerian leader is a disappointment to the Ijaw ethnic nationality.

Asari-Dokubo said Jonathan is weak and unassertive as a leader.

The ex-militant commander, who was reacting to the latest crisis in the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, which has led to the factionalisation of the ruling party, lamented that Jonathan could not take bold and courageous steps to tame the dissidents.

Asari-Dokubo, who spoke in a telephone interview with our correspondent, regretted that Jonathan could not act like a typical Ijaw man, who is famous for boldness and exceptional courage.

He asked the President to be guided by an Ijaw famous saying, “Ama Doko Doko Biokpo,” which he interpreted to mean “small, small towns but they are very courageous and keep hope alive.”

Asari-Dokubo said he was unimpressed by “what he called poor response” to the crisis rocking the PDP by the Presidency and advised Jonathan to emulate former President Olusegun Obasanjo, who confronted and dealt with the dissidents in the party during his tenure.

He recalled how Obasanjo allegedly wielded power to quench the insurgency led by a former Delta State Governor, Chief James Ibori, within the PDP, against his re-election in 2003.

To this end, he asked Jonathan to stop further peace talks and negotiation with the dissident governors and their collaborators, including Obasanjo and former Vice-President Atiku Abubakar.

He said Jonathan only needed to sit up and demonstrate uncommon courage to subdue his political enemies, adding that the crisis was orchestrated to frustrate his second term ambition.

Asari-Dokubo decried the recent statement credited to Abubakar Gumi that the killings in the North would stop as soon as Jonathan renounced his second term bid, adding that the cleric and his co-travellers were cashing in on the weakness of the President.

He nonetheless expressed the conviction that the plot against Jonathan would fail.

He said: “Jonathan is disgracing the Ijaw people and people of the South-South by negotiating with these dissidents. I am terribly annoyed by the way he is handling this issue, he is a disgrace. If he cannot withstand them he should tell us because there is no basis for negotiation.

“This is the time for Jonathan to act like an Ijaw man and he should stop disgracing us.

“Jonathan should hit them and he should tell us if he cannot hit them so that we can help him to hit them mercilessly. I have the potential to hit them hard. It is on record that I once held Nigeria hostage and Nigeria could not produce oil for 48 hours and my activities forced the prices of crude oil globally to rise by $30 one day. It was unprecedented and I can repeat it.

“The plot against Jonathan will surely fail but the President should be decisive with these people once and for all. Jonathan should assert himself as President and put these people where they should be. Obasanjo, who is leading these people did two terms and he plotted a third term.

“There should be no negotiation with dissidents. It should be total war, no retreat, no surrender and let us see who will run first. There is time for peace and there is time for war. This is the time to go into war.

“Jonathan should know that this is the time for war and if he cannot sustain the war, we will help him to sustain it. How many governors attempted to frustrate Obasanjo? Ibori and others were united behind Atiku Abubakar to frustrate Obasanjo and they failed because Obasanjo was strong, assertive, decisive and courageous.

“Jonathan should be strong to deal with them but whether he is strong or not, we are ready to support and stand by him. It is not a one-man battle but a total war and they must be totally vanquished.”

Besides, Asari-Dokubo asked Jonathan to hand over the Rivers State Governor, Mr. Rotimi Amaechi, to the ex-fighters in the Niger Delta for a decisive action.

On Amaechi, he said, “Let the security men step aside and let us see how Amaechi can come to Rivers State. Amaechi should not be protected because he has betrayed the collective interest of the Niger Delta.

“Jonathan should be decisive and look at the other way and allow us to stand on the streets for 24 hours and we will see whether this madness by Amaechi will not end.”

Rooney fumed after supporters questioned his withdrawal from Roy Hodgson's squad at the start of the week.

Last year over 22,000 candidates sat for the post-UTME examinations of the university.
The over 28,000 candidates for this year’s post-UTME have been divided into three batches by the university for the purpose of the examination whose conduct would last for three days.
The increase in the rate of human and vehicular movements in the area due to the large number of candidates sitting for the post-UTME exercise however caused traffic snarl on all roads leading to the FUNAAB campus at Alabata.
FUNAAB Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Olusola Oyewole, while monitoring the exercise, told newsmen that the increase in the number of candidates seeking admission into the university could be attributed to the confidence parents and candidates had in the institution.
Oyewole, who is also the president of the Association of African Universities, added that the stable academic calendar of FUNAAB could also be the major attraction to parents and admission seekers.
He said, “This year, we  have 28,100 candidates sitting for this post-UTME examination. Really, it’s a reflection of the confidence of the parents and the candidates in the quality of education on offer in FUNAAB.
“It would interest you to know that in FUNAAB today, although ASUU is on strike, we have already concluded our second semester examination before the lecturers started their strike. We are a university committed to bringing out the leadership quality of our students. It’s a school of discipline, and a school that is interested in producing future leaders for this country.”
The VC added that the number of applicants had continued to rise because FUNAAB had always complied with the admission guidelines of the Joint Admission Matriculation Board.

After all the denials and Ghafla! can now confirm that Kenyan ex-soldier Abdi Galgalo Guyo is Dillish Matthew’s real biological father.

Dillish’s mother, Selma Pashukeni has confirm to Standard Group that Guyo is indeed is the BBA winner’s real biological dad.
In a Google hangout organized by the Kenyan Embassy in Namibia and the Standard Group, Selma and Guyo were able to talk to each other for the first time in close to 23 years. The hangout was witnessed by the Kenyan Ambassador to Namibia, Peter Gitau, Dillish’s uncle and aunt.

    Sir, so many people have condemned you and passed judgment; others have questioned the anointing and call of God on your life. My question to them is whether they were there when you received God’s call.

    So many do not understand that there’s a special grace that is on the lives of Christian ministers. King David in the Bible was a notorious rake, a consistent sinner; yet he was still so much loved by God. So many of them feel they understand how things work. But they do not. I have come to realize that there’s a special grace ministers have, so when they flop, its best to leave them to God. I know so many intelligent men would disagree with this line of thought, but I’ve also learnt that God works in mysterious ways, and we can’t question his actions…and also we can’t use the intelligence of this earth to understand the things of the Spirit.

    My pastor, I totally understand how you feel. This period must really be a trying one for you. I am also a Christian Minister, and I can fully comprehend the gravity of this issue. I know so many people have attacked you on this issue. They fail to understand that being a Pastor doesn’t make you less human. We fail to understand that being a Pastor or Man of God doesn’t mean that one is above segxwal urges.

    I once prayed a very funny prayer. I asked God to stop creating beautiful ladies. I wanted more ugly females around, as this would help reduce my attraction to them. If only they can realize that pastors have more segxwal temptations than any other person…if only they can realize that ministers are more exposed to very pretty ladies, who are sometimes ready to do anything with the man of God.     My pastor, I don’t want this to bring your spirit man down, most times people think our pastors are very perfect creatures, whose lives are without sin and temptation. They expect them to live above sin, forgetting that they are still made of flesh and blood and can fall at any time..except for the power of the Holy Spirit.

    I’m not in support of pastors living reckless lives, but before we crucify Pastor Biodun, I want us to know that no one, and I repeat, no one is above segxwal fall. As I tell my friends in church, konji is not a respecter of anointing. We live by grace and not by strength or spiritual achievement. Sex does not respect speaking in tongues, it has a power of its own.

    Lest we forget, the race is not for the swift nor for the strong, but for those who God shows mercy.

    We don’t need you to tell us that you never had anything to do with that girl…if it’s not true. We want the whole truth from you..sir. We want you to come clean…and with a promise to try preventing it from happening. In a country as corrupt as ours, where people we respect lie and do evil and feel good about it, it would do your image a whole lot of good to come out and come clean. Adam and Eve truly disappointed God, it was so painful that the people He so much loved, created with His hands, gave every good thing to could repay Him with such sin…but what most of us Christians don’t see there is that even after the fall, God CLOTHED them. He made clothes from the skins of an animal and covered their shame.

There were speculations that Popular Nollywood actress, Ronke Ojo who recently returned back to Nigeria from the United States after giving birth to her baby was stranded in the states.


For many months after her childbirth in the United States of America, Ronke Ojo popularly known as Ronke Oshodi Oke was said to have been stranded in the states that was why she could not return back with her child to the country to see her hubby.

But for the timely intervention of men of the Ebonyi State Command of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, NSCDC, a suspected serial rapist, Mr. Peter Edigbo, 64, would have been lynched by members of Agbaenyim community in Izzi Local Government Area of Ebonyi State last weekend.

The suspect was later arrested by the Command’s division in Izzi Local Government Area for allegedly molesting a six-year-old girl, Miss Nkwegu Chinwe, at midnight when the victim was asleep in her house.
It was gathered that the suspect sneaked into the little girl’s room and allegedly forcefully had carnal knowledge of his victim. According to a resident, the screaming of the girl had attracted members of the community who rushed to the house without knowing what was initially happening but discovered that the victim’s  screaming was as a result of the immoral behaviour of the suspect.
In a chat with VM, the State Commandant of the Corps in Abakaliki, Mrs. Ego Echendu, who described the incident as abominable charged parents to always keep their eyes on their children at every point in time. She expressed the readiness of the Command to clamp down on incidences of crime and criminality throughout the state as NSCDC was fully positioned in the 13 local government areas to nip any act of criminality in the bud.
Parading the 64-year-old suspect before newsmen at the Command Headquarters in Abakaliki, the Corps Public Relations Officer, Assistant Superintendent of Corps, ASC, Emmanuel Nwali, stated that the incident which angered members of the community was also confirmed by women on examining the little girl after the incident. According to him, this confirmation enraged the villagers who wanted to lynched the suspect because that was not the first time he had committed such act. VM learnt that the suspect’s wife had left him as similar past action on his part had brought shame and embarrassments to their marriage.
Nwali noted that  the suspect had been notorious for such act  as confirmed by the village Head and other members of the community.
According to the Command’s spokesman:  “Yesterday at about 6pm we received a signal from one of our divisions in Izzi that an old man defiled a girl of six years old. When we got the report we told them to transfer the matter to our command headquarters in Abakaliki so that we will handle it appropriately. So far we are still investigating the case and after that we are going to hand over the case to the appropriate quarters because that is not one of our core mandates as NSCDC.
“The suspect, Mr. Peter Edigbo,  hails from Agbaenyim in Izzi LGA of the state. The village head and villagers, among others, confirmed the incident, adding that the man has been in such act for quite some time despite warnings from community members. And if not for the timely intervention of our men the man would have been lynched. The only thing, according to the victim, she noticed when she was sleeping at midnight period was a hard thing inside her body. This is the second time such thing is happening in the village by the same man”.
Reacting to the incident, the grandmother of the victim, Mrs. Mary Nwofoke, who spoke in her local dialect added that: “I told Chinwe and the other children that when they were ready to go to sleep, they should alert me so that I will come and lock the door but they forgot and slept off. And so because the door was not locked that gave the rapist the opportunity to sneak into the room and forced himself on the girl.
“The child woke up and was screaming and calling me. So when I ran into the room, the man ran out immediately. I asked the little what happened and in her own naivety, she said ‘the man urinated on me’; so when I heard this I raised alarm and the  matter was brought before the village Council. If not for the intervention of the Civil Defence Corps, the man would have been burnt to death. Another lady who came when the alarm was raised also said the man had raped her before,” she stressed.

A 30-year-old man, Godface Ibama, suspected to be a homosegxwal, was on Wednesday arraigned before a Magistrate’s Court in Port Harcourt.
Ibama was accused of unlawfully having carnal knowledge of seven year-old twin brothers, Elijah and Elisha, through the anus.
The accused was arraigned on  two counts by the police.
Ibama was brought to the court by the prosecutor, Sergeant Kenneth Osisi, who stood in for the River State Commissioner of Police.
The charges read, “That you, Godface Ibama ‘m’ on the 23rd day of August, 2013, at Urualla Waterfront, Mile One Diobu, Port Harcourt in Port Harcourt Magisterial District, did have an unlawful carnal knowledge of one Elijah ‘m’ aged 7 years through the anus without his consent and thereby committed an offence punishable under Section 214 (1) of the Criminal Code Cap 37, Vol. II Laws of Rivers State of Nigeria 1999.
“That you, Godface ‘m’ on the same date and place in the aforesaid Magistrial District did have an unlawful carnal knowledge of one Elisha ‘m’ aged 7 years through the anus without his consent and thereby committed an offence punishable under Section 214 (1) of the Criminal Code Cap 37, Vol. II Laws of Rivers State of Nigeria 1999.”
The accused pleaded not guilty to the charges.
The magistrate ordered that Ibama be remanded in prison custody till September 11, 2013 when arguments on his (accused) bail would be heard.
It was said that Ibama, who was in court without a lawyer to represent him, risks more than 14 years in prison if found guilty of the offence.

An Enugu Magistrate Court, yesterday, remanded one Monday Okoye, 34, of Obuofia, in Awgu Local Government Area of the state in prison custody over alleged rape of a 12-year-old girl.
The police in Enugu had arraigned Okoye before the court over alleged offence.
The prosecutor, Mr  Peter Eze, told the court that the matter was reported to the state Criminal Investigation Department on August 11.
Eze said the rape victim was absent in the court because she was hospitalised following the injury she sustained from the rape.
The prosecutor called seven witnesses to testify in the matter.
The magistrate, Mr Frank Chukwu, asked the accused if he had a counsel and he said he had none.
Chukwu said that the case would be transferred to the high court because it bordered on rape, adding that such was outside the jurisdiction of a magistrate court.
He, however, added that the prosecuting witnesses would testify in the high court on the matter.
He warned that each witness would pay N50,000 if they failed to appear in the high court for the case.
The magistrate ordered the accused to be remanded in prison custody and adjourned the case indefinitely.
