701  Forum / Naijapals Base (Metro life) / Four Church Leaders Killed In Borno! on: 11-04-2013 10:18 AM
As the government of President Goodluck Jonathan works on a controversial amnesty for the Boko Haram Islamic sect, gunmen believed to be its members continued their merciless mayhem on Monday evening, shooting to death four church leaders, mostly of Church of Christ in Nigeria (COCIN) in Gwoza village in Borno state.
Gwoza is the same village where Boko Haram militants recently sacked a police station and killed several policemen.
The four men were murdered while resting near the church premises. Their attackers simply rode in on motorbikes and gunned them down.
A church source gave the names of those killed as Iliya Tada, Ayuba Yusuf, Idris Dogo. A fourth victim was a member of Ekliziyar Yan’uwa a Nigeriya (EYN -“Church of Brethern”).
Reverend Haskanda Jesu told SaharaReporters that the victims were buried today, amid rumours that the gunmen have regrouped in a nearby village in preparation for another attack.
He said the police in the area have limited capability to prevent attacks, and are also fearful of Boko Haram.

702  Forum / Naijapals Base (Metro life) / Student Goes MAD, And Stabs 14 People In School!! on: 10-04-2013 04:25 PM
The 20-year-old Lone Star College student accused of stabbing 14 of his classmates told investigators he’d been planning the spree for some time and had fantasies of stabbing people to death since his elementary school days.

So vicious were the random, building-to-building attacks carried out by Dylan Andrew Quick that his thrusts left pieces of a razor-type knife in at least one of his 14 victims, the Harris County Sheriff’s Office said Tuesday night. Two students were in critical condition and four are in fair condition. Four were flown by helicopter from the sprawling Cy-Fair campus outside Houston to hospitals. Some were treated on scene.

The violence was reported around 11:13 a.m. local time at the school’s Cy-Fair campus in north Harris County.

Quick is charged with three counts of aggravated assault. Police say pieces of the blade were found inside at least one victim and around the area where he slashed his classmates. The knife’s handle was found in the backpack the Quick wore while he allegedly terrorized his community college classmates. Quick was dressed in all black, a cap pulled over his bushy red hair.

The first emergency call described “a male on the loose stabbing people,” Harris County Sheriff Adrian Garcia said.

Student Steven Maida tells the Daily News he was walking to his vehicle on campus when chaos broke out. People were running, he said, including one who said, “My friend got stabbed in the face.” Maida and a group took off after the suspect. The group eventually caught up to the suspect, pulling him down by his backpack and restraining him, Maida said. The suspect’s hearing aids fell out during the struggle, Maida said.

“He said, ‘I give up,’” Maida said. “I asked him, ‘Why’d you do this to these girls, why?’ but he just stared up at me.”

Another witness told Maida the suspect was “Dylan” and that “he’s a nice kid.” She didn’t tell Maida the suspect’s last name. “Just hearing that girls were being stabbed in the face made me want to help,” Maida told the Daily News on Tuesday evening.

Witnesses told CBS affiliate KHOU 11 that the incident erupted in a lab at the campus’ Health Sciences building.
Student Margo Shimfarr-Evans said she had just left the building when she learned a classmate had been stabbed.
“It happened in the hallway, we have a lab and lecture, and down the hallway it’s all lab classes and a classmate in the lab class got stabbed,” she said.

Police said at a news conference it was a random “building-to-building attack.” How many buildings or classrooms were involved is unclear. An officer said a student tackled the suspect, who was then detained by police.

Student Michael Chalfan told The Associated Press he was walking to class when he saw a group of police officers running after Quick. He said one of the officers used a stun gun to help subdue the man, whom Chalfan said he recognized from a drama class last year.

Chalfan described Quick as “eccentric,” saying he often wore gloves and was known to carry stuffed animals. He said although the man was teased by fellow students, he remained friendly.

“I’m surprised because he didn’t look like he was hateful to the world,” Chalfan said.
The Chronicle reported that Quick, who was once homeschooled, was born deaf and had a cochlear implant at age 7.
The Chronicle reports Quick told a man in the Cy-Fair jail that he wanted to go on a “killing spree” but that the knife’s blade broke. He told investigators he planned the attack for “some time” and had fantasies of such a spree since elementary school.

Several calls by the Daily News to Quick’s mother, Tiffany Quick, went unanswered Tuesday.
An earlier alert put out by the school on Facebook said there were possibly two armed suspects, with one still at large.
After the attacks, school officials closed the campus for the day, but it will reopen Wednesday. About 7,000 people are on the Cy-Fair campus on any given day, police said.

A Lone Star College campus in north Harris was the scene of violence in January when gunfire wounded three people.

705  Forum / Naijapals Base (Metro life) / Ex-Pastor, Queen Ure Speaks On Her Sex Life With Younger Men! on: 10-04-2013 08:40 AM
When a lady who ones owned a church starts saying things like “I’m no longer a Pastor” then you should know that one spirit is seriously dancing Azonto somewhere. Sadly, this is the case of Queen Ure who just can’t hide her preference for rolling with younger guys.
Below is what she told Punch about her estranged younger husband, Soul E, the collapse of her church and her relationship with some guy at the moment:
How has it been all this while?
Things have been great. I launched my album, Porpori, last year. I have become a professional singer. Music has always been a part of me and I knew there would come a time that I would go fully into it. I think that time has come. My video has been on air for a while.
Was it your quest for something new that made you open a church some time ago?
Oh no. Ministry is a part of me. I am a natural uplifter. I am a natural speaker. I have been a church goer most of my life. I was into church when I was in secondary school. That was why I became the Chapel Prefect in my school – Federal Government Girls College, Owerri. This is not a new thing.
But you are no longer a pastor…
No, I am no longer a pastor. But that doesn’t take away the fact that I still reach out. Ministry is all about reaching out, whether you are on the pulpit, whether you are singing, as long as you are reaching out.
So what happened to the church?
I am not a pastor any more so the congregation is no longer there. I was away most of the time in 2011, and I handed the ministry to someone else. You know how it is, if it is not the founder, it is really not the founder. There were some challenges and they couldn’t continue. When I returned, I knew it wasn’t something I wanted to continue and I decided to let it be and move into my music career…
Was that why you married the singer, Soul E, who was more than 10 years your junior?
I don’t even want to talk about it. We broke up in 2008. This is 2013. I don’t know why people keep going back to it.
There is no way your name will be mentioned and Soul E will not come into it. Remember nobody really believed that the marriage would work out…(cuts in) Honestly, I really do not want to talk about it. It has been a long time. I am facing my music. I can’t keep going back to Soul E.
But so many people could not understand why you got into the marriage…
Well, it was because he professed so much love for me. It is true. It wasn’t something that came from me. He kept confessing undying love. People kept asking him if he knew what he was doing. Well, since I wasn’t in any serious relationship and this person claimed that he loved me, I decided to give it a shot.
Were his feelings returned? Did you love him as well?
I loved him, the feelings were returned. He was the one that walked away. I gave it my best but he chose to walk away. You are not going to tie somebody and tell him he must stay with you, not at all. I am not someone who will make so much effort to tell somebody who wants to go away to stay back. I don’t even think I will do that. If anybody wants to walk away, you let the person go.
If Soul E had eventually come back, would you have taken him back?
Soul E is married. But even at that, I doubt if I would have taken him back.
But there is Dude Tetsola now and he is a young singer as well. Some people are already saying that you are in a relationship since both of you are always together.Dude produced two of the songs in my album. We worked together and we decided to collaborate in the songs. If you listen to him, you will find out that he is a talented guy. He added some colour to the album. We work together, he is my colleague and he is a fantastic person. He is my friend…
There is always a stigma attached to a divorcee, doesn’t it bother you?
No way. It doesn’t bother me in any way. I am happy. I am glad about life. I am well and I am pursuing my dream. Things are working well for me and I am healthy. I have reasons to thank God. For some time now, nobody has said anything about me. There has been calm because there is no relationship to talk about. My parents know the kind of industry I am into. They love me. I am their last child and their only female. They want me happy. Oh yes, they want me to be happily married with children. I do want that as well. I am still hopeful.
You have not ruled it out?
Why will I rule it out? Love is a part of life. It will happen on you. It is not something you look for. You don’t go about looking for love, just live your life happily and it will come when it will come.
So are you in any relationship now?
I am not planning any wedding at the moment.
That wasn’t the question…
But that is the reason people get into a relationship. But I am not in a relationship. I am not planning any marriage soon.
Some people get into relationship because they want companions…
My platonic friends are okay for me. They are my companions.
Some people need somebody they can cuddle and make love to at night…
I agree with you. It is necessary. But you can also get to a point where you can be happy with your life when there is nobody to cuddle and just look forward to having somebody to cuddle. Right now, I can cuddle my pillow. My pillow is there for me. Is it not better to cuddle the person who will be there forever than to cuddle somebody who after a while, you will look by your side and the person is no more there? I am taking my time.
Will you marry somebody that is younger than you again?
I can still marry somebody that I am older than. Age is not a major criterion. The important things are sincerity, honesty and integrity. Love can fling you in any direction. If it is somebody who is much older, then so be it. If it is somebody who is my age, it is okay. And if it is somebody who is much younger than me, I am open to life.
Wouldn’t you have any reservation marrying somebody younger than you again?
I don’t live in the past and I don’t let the past control my thinking. What I will look out for are integrity and sincerity. I was deeply hurt by what happened in my past marriage but I got over it. I am not somebody who wallows in something negative. You get hurt but you clean up yourself and move on. It takes some people years and months to move on. If you will eventually get over something, why don’t you just do it immediately and move on?

709  Forum / Naijapals Base (Metro life) / Photo: Face Eating(NOMA) Disease Spreads In Nigeria (Viewer Discretion) on: 9-04-2013 11:46 AM
NOMA, a severe disease that affects the face is silently spreading in Nigeria. Studies carried out in the last two years have revealed that about 126,000 Nigerians die from NOMA disease every year.
Although it is relatively unknown, the disease has been plaguing lives especially of people in the North. Victoria Nkong, the coordinator of the campaign against NOMA disease, explains the symptoms as initial sore or rash inside the mouth of a victim, which if left untreated gradually grows and in the process, part of the face is eaten up with gangrene. She says that in extreme cases, the disease eats its way into the heart and vital organs of the victim’s body leading to death.”Although most of the cases of NOMA disease can be found in the Northern part of the country, we have recorded a few cases in Lagos and in most of those cases, due to ignorance about the disease, people brand the victims as accursed people or demons. NOMA disease is prevalent among the poor and it is caused by acute malnutrition. Children and young people from the ages of two to seven years are mostly affected but in rare cases, adults can fall victims. If detected early, it can be treated with common antibiotics but when it is left untreated, the disease eats out the whole face, at which point the victim will have to undergo a very expensive corrective surgery,” says Nkong.
Nkong emphasises the existence and spread of the disease in the country, urging sufferers to get treatment and possibly surgery.
“Most medical practitioners in Nigeria do not know about NOMA but this is a disease that kills faster than AIDS and the level of ignorance about it in Nigeria is alarming. Since it mostly affects the poor people, it is cheaper to treat at the early stages. A poor man living below N100 a day cannot be expected to raise £40,000 needed for corrective surgery and the medical budget from the Federal Government cannot adequately take care of such expenses. So it is very important for people to undergo proper screening and tests to tackle the disease before it gets to the maturity stage."

Stop what you're doing ... put down the Cheetos ... and listen to the magic that is Ray J as he sings about banging Kim Kardashian ...

Ladies and gentleman ... we give you 30 seconds of "I Hit It First." You're welcome.

Now that you've listened -- and let's be honest it's pretty catchy -- remember why we've gathered here today ... so Ray J can remind Kanye West he's getting nothing but sloppy seconds.

Kanye WOULD respond with a rebuttal track ... but he's too busy releasing chart-topping albums
