Mr. Blair, who runs a consultancy and is said to have amassed a property portfolio worth millions, gets well paid for many, if not all, of those visits. | Finance minister, Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, is the founder of the NOI-poll, an opinion research organization that partners with internationally known Gallup. The group’s March poll on President Jonathan’s approval rating, published April 2, says less than 5 in 10 Nigerians (46%) gave the Jonathan administration, which Mrs. Okonjo-Iweala serves, kudos. The poll was conducted between March 25th and 27th 2013. It involved telephone interviews of a random nationwide sample. 1,014 randomly selected phone-owning Nigerians aged 18 years and above, representing the six geopolitical zones in the country, were interviewed. | President Goodluck Jonathan’s aide, Kinglsey Kuku, has warned of a restart of restiveness in the Niger Delta if Mr. Jonathan ceases to hold office, or is denied a fresh term in 2015. Kingsley Kuku, who is the Special Adviser to the president on Niger Delta, and chairman, presidential amnesty programme, Kingsley Kuku, told U.S. officials in Washington on Thursday, that current peace in the Niger Delta owes to the continued stay in office of Mr. Jonathan, and strongly urged the American government to back his presidency. | Boko Haram breakaway extremist group, Ansaru, has claimed responsibility for some of Nigeria’s most despicable violence lately. The group, which came to prominence early 2012, recently took credit for a brutal abduction and killing of seven foreign construction workers in Bauchi. One leader of the group, who is a son of north’s ruling elite (likely an emir), said while they subscribe partially to the ideology of Boko Haram, they go more after foreigners; and do not brook any inkling of rescue effort by any government. He said they do not want to hurt Nigerians, and matter of fact, criticize Boko Haram’s indiscriminate bombings and shootings.
