A mother forced her 14-year-old adopted daughter to inseminate herself with donor sperm to provide a baby for her after she was prevented from adopting any more children, it can be revealed.
The daughter, a virgin, is believed to have miscarried at 14, but went on to have a baby at 16 after regularly inseminating herself with sperm bought over the internet by her "domineering" mother because she was too scared to refuse.
Details of the shocking case have emerged in a previously secret court judgment, which can be reported today for the first time and which raises serious questions over loopholes in international adoptions and the regulation of the global traffic in gametes.

Senator Aloysius Etok, whom, Gov. Akpabio of Akwa Ibom state claimed to have rigged elections to have him substituted for the real winner of the senatorial seat, has accused the governor of “resurrecting” his hit squad and sending it after him.

The federal government has banned the Rivers State-owned bombardier aircraft from flying in Nigeria’s airspace again in what is clearly an escalating firestorm between President Jonathan and Rivers governor, Rotimi Amaechi.
The National Civil Aviation Authority, NCAA, announced the ban Saturday at a press conference, a day after Mr. Amaechi’s plane was temporarily prevented from leaving the Akure airport.
The president and Mr. Amaechi are clearly opposed to each other over 2015 presidential race which both sides are angling for.

Finance minister, Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, is the founder of the NOI-poll, an opinion research organization that partners with internationally known Gallup.

The group’s March poll on President Jonathan’s approval rating, published April 2, says less than 5 in 10 Nigerians (46%) gave the Jonathan administration, which Mrs. Okonjo-Iweala serves, kudos.

The poll was conducted between March 25th and 27th 2013. Deadly Islamist sect, Boko Haram, which has claimed to be pursuing a puritanical ideology averse to all forms of vice including extortion, received nearly half a billion naira in ransom before releasing the French family of seven abducted February 19.
International news agency, Reuters, quoted a secret Nigerian government document indicating that the group was paid N497.7 million ($3.15 million) before the release was made.
As part of the deal, Camerounian authorities also released some of the sect’s members, Reuters said. The memo was silent on who paid the ransom.

Nigeria’s highest judicial regulatory body has suspended Justice Abubakar Talba of the Abuja High Court, Gudu, who controversially let off a former senior official accused in a multibillion naira pension savings fraud.

Boko Haram breakaway extremist group, Ansaru, has claimed responsibility for some of Nigeria’s most despicable violence lately.

The group, which came to prominence early 2012, recently took credit for a brutal abduction and killing of seven foreign construction workers in Bauchi.

One leader of the group, who is a son of north’s ruling elite (likely an emir), said while they subscribe partially to the ideology of Boko Haram, they go more after foreigners; and do not brook any inkling of rescue effort by any government.
