Two primary school head teachers died in an auto accident at Costain area of Ore, Odigbo Local Government, Ondo State, while returning home from their schools on Tuesday.
The accident happened when the two friends, Igbasan Bolaji and Akinbinuade Festus of St Andrew Primary School, Oja Baale and St Mathew Primary School, Asejiri, were driving home in a Nissan Sunny car, marked ONDO AE 505 GBA, belonging to one of them.
According to a source, the driver lost control at Akinjagunla Junction, Costain, Ore and rammed into a stationary lorry with number plateLAGOS EPE 143 XB packed beside the road, killing the two friends instantly.
A family member said that Akinbinuade had tendered his retirement letter to the Ondo State Universal Basic Education to take effect from July 31, after serving for 35 years. Igbasan was expected to quit service in 2015.
The police said the remains of the two late headmasters had been deposited at Ore Specialist Hospital morgue.
The Police Public Relations Officer for the state command, Mr Wole Ogodo, an Assistant Superintendent of Police, described the accident as unfortunate.

Hamza al-Mustapha The authorities of the Nigerian Army have denied speculation that the former Chief Security Officer to Gen. Sani Abacha, Major Hamza Al-Mustapha, is to be decorated with the rank of Brig.-Gen on Wednesday (today). The Director, Army Public Relations, Brig.- Gen Ibrahim Attahiru, in a statement on Tuesday, described the Internet publication as erroneous. The Court of Appeal on Friday acquitted Al-Mustapha over the killing of the wife of business mogul, MKO Abiola, Kudirat.
Attahiru said, “The attention of the Nigerian Army has been drawn to an erroneous publication being circulated on the Internet about the decoration of the former Chief Security Officer to the late Head of State, Gen. Sani Abacha, Major Al-Mustapha with the rank of Brigadier-General following his recent acquittal by the court.
“The Nigerian Army wishes to advise the media to always cross check facts before going to the press to avoid misinformation, misrepresentation, and sensationalism in its reportage.”
Meanwhile, a former Information Minister, Chief Edwin Clark, has applauded the acquittal of Al-Mustapha by the court.
Clark, in a statement on Tuesday, said there was a need for the review of the criminal administration law in the country.
Clark, a lawyer, said it amounted to injustice and gross abuse of natural and human rights to keep Al-Mustapha as well as other inmates for a longer period than the time that the sanction for their charge would have been in event of return of guilty verdict.
Former Provost-Marshal, Nigerian Army, Brig.-Gen. Idada Ikponmwen (retd.), on Tuesday also said the protracted trial of Al-Mustapha revealed the serious defect in the country’s judicial system. Speaking in Benin, Edo State, Idada described Al-Mustapha’s acquittal as victory for the rule of law. He, however, said the former CSO got his “legal victory due to failure of the prosecution to proof its allegation.”
Daniel A woman, Sakirat Attah, 25, has been arrested by the police at Elemoro Division, Lekki, Lagos, southwest Nigeria, for severely scalding her son’s face.
The petty trader who resides at Abijo village in Ibeju Lekki, allegedly carried out the dastardly act while punishing little Daniel for licking their neighbour’s soup.
It was gathered that Sakirat also used a broken bottle to stab Daniel in the head during her fit of anger and he sustained a deep cut in the head.
A police source said that the victim’s neighbours rescued him from the mother and quickly rushed him to a nearby hospital due to excessive loss of blood.
The trouble started for the little boy when their co-tenant allegedly caught him licking their pot of soup and reported him to his mother.
The mother of the child was said to have dragged her son inside her room and locked the door.
She allegedly lit her stove and put an iron spoon on it to get hot and used it to burn her son’s face and hands as punishment.
It was also gathered that when the little boy was not cooperating with her, she allegedly broke a bottle and stabbed him in the head before neighbours who allegedly heard the boy crying for help entered the woman’s room and rescued him.
During interrogation, the little boy allegedly admitted licking the soup because he was seriously hungry since his mother did not provide food for him to eat on time. The neighbours, it was learnt, reported the matter to the police who arrested the woman.
During interrogation, she allegedly admitted scalding her son with hot spoon to teach him a lesson not to steal again, adding that she did not know that the torture would cause the boy such injuries.
After investigation .com gathered, she was charged before an Igbosere Magistrate’s Court, Lagos on a one count charge of assaulting a minor occasioning bodily harm. The offence, the prosecutor, Supol E. C. Ekuma said, contravened section 171 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2011.
The accused pleaded not guilty to the charge and the presiding chief magistrate, Mrs. Femi Segun admitted her on bail in the sum of N100,000 with two sureties in like sum with proof of two years tax payment to the Lagos State Government.
She also directed that one of the sureties must be a blood relation, while the other must be a community leader. The defendant was, however, moved to Kirikiri Prison, Apapa, pending when she would fulfill the bail conditions.
The crisis rocking the embattled marriage of star actress, Doris Simon and estranged hubby, Daniel Ademinokan is taking a more interesting dimension in the court of law. Daniel, who has since eloped with Widow's star actress, Stella Damasus, alongside their only son, David, recently sent a certificate of divorce to Simon. But probing Simon and her lawyer, Barrister Bosun Osifowora found a grey area in the certificate. It was a fake divorce certificate. In a swift reaction, Doris' lawyer filed a petition and the matter has since gone to court. His claim now contrary to his earlier position has changed. Daniel, currently in America, may have pressed a self-destruct button- he has admitted through his lawyers that he presented to Doris a fake divorce certificate.

What is the update on Doris and Daniel`s matter?
Not thing much happened in the court actually. They filed a reply to the petition and the lawyer served us but it has been adjourned to October 20th I believe. This is because the courts are going on vacation and will be back in September. But he admitted to serving that thing on Doris. He now claimed that he went to court, he saw a lawyer but didn't know the guy wasn`t a real lawyer. That it was the lawyer that told him not to come, that he would get him his divorce. That it was the lawyer that gave him the thing but I thought that was a foolish admission on their part. But we decided to be silent. So he had admitted to it that he did it unknowingly. I don't know how he wants to plead ignorance. That is basically what he said. So what we are looking to do now by that October is possibly plead -joint but we haven't done that. We are working on it. We will serve them very soon.
We will join Stella Damasus as a co-defendant. That is what we want to do because this is becoming more real than yesterday. This is because they lived together. Initially we thought about it but we don't want to base whatever we do on speculation.

Yes. So that is it. But we will serve them and we will avail you a copy. We will join her as a co respondent.
Is Daniel with that admittance pleading for out of court settlement on the divorce paper issue?
No he is not. He is not pleading for out of court settlement. He has just admitted to serving that fake document on her (Doris). That it was a lawyer he got that did it, that the lawyer didn't know what he was doing or that the lawyer was a fake? But that is their admission anyway. He foolishly admitted it. I would not do that as a lawyer.
What about the custody of the son?
Another thing he did was to ask for the custody of their only son, (David) be given to him even though he ran away with him; he claimed he didn't run away with him. That Doris wasn't taking good care of the boy. That it was the reason he took the boy away. That obviously is a lie. That he is trying to enroll the boy in a school in America without the consent of the mother.
So we are going to discredit him based on the fact if he could take a child from the mother under pretence and also served a fake court judgment with the signature of a judge and everything, that the child cannot be trusted with him. That made him criminally liable and somebody of such a character cannot train a child. “It was taken to the Federal Teaching Hospital mortuary for autopsy.
“It was after three days that her body was discovered. However, in the effort to know the actual perpetrator of the act, some people were arrested and it was then that we discovered that Okorie Ogbafor was the person behind the killing of his wife.”
