Two Yoruba movie stars Murphy Afolabi and fast rising actress Bimpe Akintunde were reportedly involved in an auto crash on Thursday afternoon.
According to sources, Murphy was driving the vehicle when the accident occurred around 12.30 pm at Awowo old road in Abeokuta on their way to Ilaro.
Bimpe, who is still receiving treatment at a private hospital, said that "the front tyre of the jeep got burst in motion and the vehicle summersaulted four times before it stopped.”

Both were rescued by a 'Samaritan', but with injuries.

Speaking in a recent interview, the Nigerian movie star and mother of two who is based in America recounts how her husband dumped her and her daughters, and she also spoke about her offer of a movie role to BBA finalist, Beverly Osu.

Why did you go into pornographic movies?
I did not go into pornographic movies. I reiterate that I am not into pornography and it seems the press and Nigerians are really wishing I did. I started doing regular movies with some sort of nudity or adult content but they kept saying porn, and calling me a porn star. I have cleared the air several times in my interviews but I don’t think you guys get it all. Do you call Hollywood movies they show on HBO pornographic? Do you call movies like Basic Instinct, Monster Ball, Savages and so on pornographic? I guess it’s because I am a Nigerian, that’s why. Well, I wouldn't care about what a disgruntled ex-husband is going about saying. I am not a ‘hooker.’ I have not hooked up with his father, his brothers or anybody he knows before. Every allegation against me is false, merely based on assumptions and hearsay. I guess you should be asking me how I manage to single highhandedly raise the children he abandoned me with since 2007.

When he abandoned us, he went to Nigeria and sold the home I struggled to build for us. If he had any conscience, he should be praying for me, not trying to pull me down. As a matter of fact, he has not spent a dime on raising the children since 2007. Fact is, I have moved on and I’m focusing on my career and raising my kids. I guess it’s time to put this nonsense to a stop. And to you press, this is the last time I will entertain any questions that has to do with my ex or broken marriage. An ex is an ex, so please, leave it where it belongs. Thank you!

How do you feel that Beverly Osu has refused your offer of a role in your controversial movies?
Fact is, I wasn’t even serious about the so-called offer, I was just mocking her, and if you read my post, it was rather sarcastic. I didn't expect it to go viral and how could anybody even take that serious?

A 66-year-old man from southern Colombia had to have his penis amputated after he overdosed on Viagra to impress his girlfriend.

The man, whose name has not been released, intentionally overdosed on the erectile dysfunction medicine.  As a result, he suffered an erection for several days before being forced to seek medical advice.

According to news website Colombia Reports, the penis-enhancing drug caused the man, who is said to be a farmer and a former politician, to develop signs of gangrene.   When he sought medical help, doctors informed the patient his only option was amputation so the inflammation and gangrene would stop spreading to other parts of his body.

According to his doctor, the old man showed bruising on the testicles and penis, he was treated and is recovering well.

In yet another incident, earlier this week, a Yemeni man died of a Viagra overdose as he prepared to sleep with his bride on their first day as a married couple.

The 25-year-old Yemeni man dosed up on five Viagra pills at one time which killed him, according to Yemini Arabic Language daily newspapwer Okaz Al Youm.

Once the wedding hall was cleared out, the unnamed man left to join his wife at their new home.

A tenant of a house on Asuquo Eyo Street, Ifa Ikot Okpon, Uyo Local Government Area of Akwa Ibom State, identified simply as Ime, aka Shawa, has been accused of killing his landlord and the wife and also setting the house ablaze.

It was said that Ime, 40, had attacked his landlord, Mr. Edem Akpan and his wife, Affiong, with matchete before setting the house on fire.

One of the daughters to the late couple, Ms. Emem Akpan, told our correspondent that trouble started when her father gave Ime a quit notice. She said Ime had threatened that if her father insisted on sending him (Ime) out, he would kill him and burn down the house. She said, “We thought it was just a mere threat. None of us could believe that Ime was capable of doing what he said.“Two days ago, we saw him bringing worn out tyres into the compound. We didn’t know he had a plan.

“Yesterday (Sunday), before we left for church in the evening, he brought 20 litres of fuel, more than what his generator could contain.

“A neighbour asked him what he wanted to do with such quantity of fuel, but he told him that he was going to run the generator overnight.

“This is what we saw this morning as we returned from church – the fuel and worn out tyres were weapons used by the assailant to kill my parents.”

Another daughter and ex-girlfriend of Ime, Ms. Ruth Jeremiah, said she parted ways with Ime a year and three months ago.

She said it was because Ime did not let her know his parents and his surname that made her to terminate the relationship.

She said that for the three years she dated Ime, she did not know anything about him except his alias – Shawa. “I decided to end the relationship with Ime because he was not straight forward. He wanted to marry me, but whenever I asked him to take me to his people, he would refuse,” she said.

She stated that Ime had removed his property in the house before killing her parents and setting the house ablaze.  Asked if there was tenancy agreement which could lead to the arrest of the assailant, Jeremiah stated that there was nothing like that as the father offered Ime his house based on a gentleman’s agreement.

Efforts to get the Police Public Relations Officer, Akwa Ibom State Police Command, Mr. Etim Dickson, to speak on the matter, proved abortive as calls and texts to his telephone were not replied.

According to their Facebook page, the anticipation has been building, with stores and fitness clubs showing interest in carrying the product.
Previously, the agency published a photo of the prototype and wrote: “test casting was a success! Pre-orders open!”
The company made sure to please every man, as they made the weights in different sizes, whatever a man prefers.

Dozens of people were injured as more than 130 vehicles were involved in a series of crashes on the A249 Sheppey crossing in Kent today. The crash which went on for 10 minutes as cars continuously collided with each other was caused by a thick fog.

According to eyewitnesses, visibility had been very poor at the time of the crash but drivers were
approaching the crossing with no lights.
One witness said:

'You would hear the screeching of brakes and then a thud. It was all you could hear for about 10 minutes - crash after crash after crash.' The whole top of the bridge is full of mangled cars and lorries. There are cars with their roofs ripped off - one is five feet in the air. There were a lot of people trapped.'

The accidents left at least six people seriously injured and 200 suffering minor wounds.
No one is believed to have died in the crash.

Apparently frustrated by his inability to make love to his girl-friend, a university undergraduate Emeke (surname withheld) in Igbiegwa Quarters, Ute-Erumu, Ika North East local government, Delta State has committed suicide.

The said Emeke, an under-graduate of the Delta State University, reported to be in his late thirties, was said to have jumped into a well in his family compound, after desperate efforts, including visiting several herbalists to revive the failed genital.

While the problem persisted, the deceased was said to have also visited several churches, especially white garment churches where he was subjected to 31 days fasting and prayers to solve his problem but to no avail.

Emekus as he was fondly called by family members and friends was said to have had a heated argument with his girlfriend, Kemi, over his inability to make love and he had promised to make it up to her after which they checked into a guest house at nightfall but his manhood failed him again.

A family member who gave her name as Emilia said on the fateful Monday, after the episode with his girlfriend at the guesthouse, Emeke sold his clothes and shoes after which he left a suicide note on his bed.

She said she had heard him shouting and came out of the room to find out what was wrong with him only to see him jump into the well.

The deceased was said to have been buried after payment of a fine fixed by elders of the community, who described his action as a taboo, by his family.

She was known as the world’s hottest bad star, with over 275 starring roles behind her – but now Jenna Presley has turned her back on the adult industry that left her suicidal and embraced God thanks to a campaigning church.
After seven years of filming sex scenes up to three times a day, Presley’s life fell off the rails as she descended into a drink and drugs fuelled depression – before she met members of the anti-bad XXXChurch at a convention.
Known for picketing bad sets and conventions to hand out Bible’s titled, ‘Jesus Loves bad Stars’, the XXXChurch managed to convince Presley, whose real name is Brittni Ruiz, 26, that she should choose God over a career in the sex industry.
Speaking in a YouTube video released over the weekend to mark her re-birth as a Christian, Ruiz emphatically declares, ‘Thank you, Jesus! I found him, I’m home.’

‘It’s been a long seven-year journey of bad, prostitution, stripping, drugs, alcohol and several failed suicide attempts.’
In an interview with Rachel Collins, who Ruiz met at badography conventions, the former bad star tells the XXXChurch member how she entered the bad industry at the age of 18.
Before that she began her career at a Private dancer in Mexico where she was recruited by a talent scout from the bad industry.
Beginning shooting bad almost the second she became 18, Ruiz made her first start in X-rated hardcore movies, shooting up to three sex scenes a day, being paid around $900 for each movie.
Her career took off. In 2006, she came in second place on ‘Jenna’s American Sex Star’, a reality TV show hosted by bad legend Jenna Jameson.
In 2010, Maxim magazine named her one of the top 12 hottest bad stars in the world.
On filming her first scene, Ruiz said, ‘I felt so loved that day because I was put in hair and makeup. I was told I was beautiful. I was going to be a star.’

However, Ruiz was introduced to the seedy and desperate side of the bad industry very soon afterwards as producers made her work relentlessly and dressed her up to look extremely young.
‘I already looked like I was 12,’ said Ruiz. ‘It’s disgusting how they can portray you as a little girl. It’s complete perversion.’
Losing her self respect, the badographic industry began to have a debilitating effect on Ruiz’s life.

‘It left me feeling drained,’ said Ruiz, who turned to drink and drugs to numb her pain.
‘I was so robotic, I was like a rubber Barbie doll. I had no emotions, I was no longer Brittni. I became Jenna Presley. I had an alter ego.’ Ruiz made an attempt to get her life back in order and met a man at church in San Diego, who she began dating.
Tragically though, he was killed in front of her at a Las Panchos restaurant by members of a motorcycle gang. ‘He got murdered, stabbed in front of me,’ said Ruiz.

Traumatized by this, Ruiz fell into a destructive spiral of drinking and using drugs and attempted to kill herself. ‘Jesus Loves bad Stars’ – The XXXChurch – Anti-badography Campaigners XXXChurch.com was founded online in January 2002 by Pastor Craig Gross.

He noticed a recurring issue during his work as a pastor in Southern California – an addiction to badography. This inspired him to create XXXchurch.com, a non-profit website that aims to help those struggling with badography addiction. The online church made its first appearance at the AVN Adult Entertainment Expo in Las Vegas where they set up a booth to encourage badstars to leave the industry.  Craig Gross also regularly debates male bad star Ron Jeremy on campuses across the United States. The popular event was featured on ABC News’ Nighline show and was the most watched in Nightline’s online viewing history

Left feeling ‘robotic’ and ‘emotionless’ following that first attempt – Ruiz tried and failed to take her own life at least once more. ‘I felt so hopeless and so empty inside that I turned to drugs to numb my pain, to get me through,’ she said in the interview with Collins.
It was at her lowest ebb that Ruiz met with Collins at a bad convention and the two began talking.

XXXChurch was founded by Craig Gross in January 2002 and is designed to help Christian’s who struggle with badography. Collins says that the organization’s goal is to bring ‘these amazing women the knowledge that somebody cares and loves them.’

They attend bad conventions handing out Bible’s entitled ‘Jesus Loves bad Stars’, hoping to recruit new members. The organization describes itself as ‘the #1 Christian bad site designed to bring awareness, openness and accountability to those affected by badography.’  Convinced by the message of Collins and The XXXChurch, Ruiz filmed her last sex scene in November 2012 and left the industry to start work for a limousine company. ‘It was seven long years,’ she told Collins. ‘I hated what I was doing, but I wondered what I would do next.’

Relieved to have left her life in badography behind, Ruiz said, ‘I never found love in my life and was looking for it in all the wrong place….I have finally encountered the unconditional love of God, And I will never go back.’
In an open letter to the XXXChurch, Brittni thanked Rachel Collins for her help in leaving the church. ‘I don’t know if she realizes how she impacted me or not,’ says Brittni. “But her being so kind and nonjudgmental always felt so good.
‘I never felt love in my life and was looking for it in all the wrong places,’ she says.
‘It felt great to speak to a woman as beautiful as Rachel who would tell me that I was her favorite, and to just have a regular non-bad girl talk. Please tell her that I thank her from the bottom of my heart.'

Nigeria’s National Judicial Council on Monday announced the compulsory retirement of the Acting Chief Judge of Abia state, Justice Shadrack O.E. Nwanosike over the falsification of his date of birth.
The council found that Nwanosike falsified his date of birth which invariably affected his retirement age and ordered him to embark on a compulsory retirement.
The council, in a press release signed by Mr. Soji Oye, the Acting Director of Information and made available to newsmen in Abuja, stated that the compulsory retirement slammed on the Abia state Acting Chief Judge was part of the recommendation of the council at its meeting presided by the Chief Justice of Nigeria, CJN, Justice Aloma Mariam Mukhtar, held on 17th & 18th July.
The Council during the meeting also considered and deliberated on the Report of its Committee on Performance Evaluation of Judicial Officers of the Superior Courts of Record in the Federation at the end of which it constituted a five-man Committee comprising its members to invite Judicial Officers with “Very Low Performance or Non-Performance”, to appear before it to show cause why they should not be removed from office.
The press statement also indicated that the council considered and recommended the appointment of some Judicial Officers in the Federal & States Judiciaries to the Executive, respectively.
The recommendations were for the appointment of a substantive Chief Judge for the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja which the council made to President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan, Chief Judge, Rivers State, Chief Judge, Jigawa state, Chief Judge, Katsina state which were made to their respective governors.
Others are for the appointment of President of Customary Court of Appeal in Taraba state, two Khadis for the Sharia Court of Appeal in Kebbi state, two Khadis for the Sharia Court of Appeal in Sokoto state, one Judge for the Customary Court of Appeal in Delta state and two Judges for the Customary Court of Appeal in Ebonyi state.
