101  Forum / Naijapals Base (Metro life) / TRAGEDY: Pastor Mistakenly Kills Himself With His Own Gun on: 27-08-2013 10:05 AM

The Parish Priest of St. Thomas Moore Catholic Church, Sobe, in Owan West Local Government Area of Edo State, Rev. Father Peter Ayala, was, Sunday morning, found dead in his apartment, few hours before he was due to conduct the 7a.m mass.
The cleric was said to be cleaning his double-barreled gun inside his apartment within the church premises, when the gun reportedly went off and killed him.
It was gathered that the incident took place in the early hours of Sunday before the Priest dressed up for the mass even as worshipers were said to be gathering for the service.
The incident, it was learnt, threw the church into confusion as mass servers and church elders made frantic efforts to know what went wrong with congregation waiting for the mass to begin but found the priest lying death in his apartment.
The elders were said have later reported the incident to the Bishop of the Auchi Diocese, Dr Gabriel Duniya, who it was gathered conducted a quick investigation with security agents and confirmed that the priest died when the rifle he was cleaning went off.
The Edo State Police Public Relations, DSP Moses Eguavoen said the incident was unfortunate, adding that the state command was yet to get the full details of what transpired before the Priest’s death.
102  Forum / Naijapals Base (Metro life) / Mother of Boy Caught Hiding In Tyre Of Arik Plan Speaks. Pleads With SSS on: 27-08-2013 07:32 AM

The mother of the 13-year-old stowaway, Ricky Daniel Ohikhena, who on Friday hid in the tyre compartment of an Arik plane on a flight from Benin to Lagos, was on Monday quizzed for hours by a combined team of security operatives from the Department of State Security Service and aviation security.

The mother, Evelyn, who confirmed that she was quizzed by the SSS operatives, said her son was a nice boy who never displayed any tendency for such a dangerous venture. An embattled Evelyn said Daniel was a
nice boy who did not mingle with bad friends.

She said, “My son answers Daniel in school and Ricky at home. I went to my elder sister’s place who put to bed and when I got home the next morning (Saturday), I couldn’t find him. My daughter told me that they quarrelled in the night because he woke at midnight to watch movies and she told him to stop watching movie in the night and she said he eventually slept in the parlour while she said she went back to sleep in the room.

“One of his younger brothers said he saw him remove all his school books from his bag; so I asked my neighbors whether any of them saw him and they told me that at around 5 to 6 am, they heard sounds that somebody was opening the gate but never thought it was my son. He doesn't go out. What I know is that he is always watching films in the house but he doesn’t have friends.

“I went to Oba Market police station, they referred me to Evbuotubu police station, when I got there they said they will declare him missing after 24 hours and that I should come back the next day.”

Speaking on the type of person her son is, Evelyn said, “He is always at home, I have never seen anybody come to look for him and he doesn’t have friends. I am begging the government to help me, because I have never been to the airport before, I have been to Lagos before so they should help me. I don’t know how he manage to get there but I just thank God that he is alive.
103  Forum / Relationships & Romance / Frank Edoho And I Shouldn't Have Married' - Edoho's Ex, Katherine on: 27-08-2013 01:57 AM

Frank Edoho and Katherine Obiang were married for many years, and blessed with three kids, before things fell apart.

‘Who Wants To Be A Millionaire’ host Frank Edoho is still legally married to estranged wife, Katherine, who told NET last week that the pair should never have become husband and wife. Katherine Obiang, who has three kids for the TV host spoke to our correspondent in a compelling interview how the 7-year old marriage should never have been and how the couple should have rather stayed friends. Excerpts:
Let us into your background
I’m Cameroonian. My dad is from Cameroun, my mom is from the Efik tribe in Nigeria, but somehow, we have been living there and here. My mom was a Head of Department in a tertiary institution, it was natural that we lived in Nigeria. I have no sister but brothers as siblings and even my aunt had only boys as kids, so I grew up among boys. I had different influences. We travelled a lot and to an extent, the experience helped shape who I am and how I see things. It was generally an OK childhood.
How did you start your journey in Nigerian media?
It was during my one-year internship. I was working with the account section of a radio station and one day, the programme manager called me and asked me to read something for him, after which he asked if I had thought of doing something on radio. I gasped but because I am always up for a challenge, I said yes when he asked if I was interested. I used to script everything I said so I can sound interesting and gradually, I grew into it.
And how are your kids taking the whole divorce issue?
We are not really divorced. It’s still a work-in-progress kind of thing but we are taking it well. When its time for him to see the children, he does and when its time to return them, he does. On my part, I have carried the children along and make them understand they are not stained because of it. I wouldn’t want them to develop a complex because of it. We didn’t design for these things to happen but they do. Its like people who have lost their parents, they didn’t plan for it but they have to move on. I watch them and I think they are doing pretty okay especially because we talk about it every time there is a reason to.
You mentioned that you aren’t really divorced. Does that suggest possibility of reconciliation?
No, it doesn’t. We just started the process but there isn’t any hope for reconciliation. We know we would always be in each other’s lives because of the children, so we have to be civil. When the children are getting married for example, we have to hide our differences and make it work.

105  Forum / Relationships & Romance / EXPOSED! How Pastor Biodun Fatoyinbo Took Another Lady To A Hotel In Lagos on: 26-08-2013 04:56 PM

These are indeed trying times for Pastor Biodun Fatoyinbo of COZA who I can describe as my Pastor since I used to be a member of his church. But we watched the live streaming of his reaction to the sex scandal involving him and Ese Walter and surprising he couldn't deny it once and for all.

If Pastor Biodun had denied or confirmed and maybe apologized it would have been easy to ignore this latest revelations of his segxwal escapade with another female member of his church.

Below is the latest confession of another lady who was part of his Pastoral Care Unit:  Franca E.:
This Ese Walters story is true. I was introduced to the church in Abuja by my childhood friend, who moved to Abuja from Calabar two years before I did. When I joined, she was also a PCU (for Pastoral Care Unit) worker. I really felt welcome in the church up until my friend started having problems with other women. She told me it was because Pastor Biodun trusted her with so many official things even above workers that were there before her. I believed her until the day she had an misunderstanding with another worker who called her ‘Ashewo Mary Magdalene’ in the church.

After that, her enthusiasm for church started waning while mine was getting stronger till the day she told me she was leaving the church and shortly after she left. By that time, Pastor Biodun had developed an interest in counseling me and then started telling me to take my friend's place as a PCU worker. I was reluctant because I didnt feel like coming to church early and leaving late but Pastor Zbiodun assured me that his personal driver will pick me and drop me off and so I agreed.

I started work as arranged but after a while, I noticed that the pastor did not respect personal space when talking to me when we were alone.

He would stand soooooo close and rub my upper arms or my back which made me very uncomfortable. The final straw was when he said I should go with him to Lagos to take notes and transfer same online immediately for some Pentacostal thing he was attending and he knew I was very computer literate.

I was excited till we reached Lagos and I realized that only one room was booked at the Wheatbaker Hotel, Ikoyi. Of course I complaint and the Pastor called the front desk (or pretended to) to demand for another room. He said they would call back when the room was ready.

He then told me to help massage his back becos he has back ache from sitting on the flight. I said I was tired since it was already after 8. He then insisted I lay down on the bed to rest while waiting. I said I preferred to sit at the desk and he laughed saying that I was acting like a small girl or a village uneducated girl. He then went in to take a shower.

I then called the front desk to remind then about the extra room. I wasn’t surprised when I was told that they had vacant rooms and that nobody had requested for an extra room. By this time, I knew what was up and was ready for the fool.

I opened his pouch and saw his wallet which had his lisence. I took a picture of the wallet and the Lisence on the pillow on the bed with my head in the shot. I opened the door and took several pictures of myself, the wallet and the Lisence with the room number. Came back in.

Once I heard the shower stop, I started audio recording on my BB.

He came out with a towel around his waist and started telling me how attracted he was to me. He said many derogatory things about his wife, calling her a postcard…pretty on the outside but flat and empty upstairs. He said s*x with her was like having s*x with a cold dead fish…he tried to kiss me and I stood up, picked up my travelling bag, moved to the door, opened it and quickly took a picture of him, standing with a towel around him.

He started begging. I called him all sorts of names and insisted he give me money for a separate room or I would scream ’rape’.

To cut a long story short, he asked me to shut the door, I refused, he brought out 2 bundles of N1000 and asked me to delete before he gives me the money. I told him he was in no position to negotiate. Got the money, left the Randy man with a deflated erection and checked into another room.

First thing the next morning, I left for ABJ. By the way, remember my childhood friend that introduced me to COZA? I narrated my experience to her and she confessed that she was sleeping with Biodun for over a year, even on his marital bed when his wife traveled.

Oga Pastor, try and deny my story publicly and see American wonder….I still have the pictures and our conversation on tape.

Thank God for technology!!!!!!

The son of Senator Femi Kila from Ekiti State has been arrested in the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja, for his involvement in armed robbery operation in the city.
Identified as Ola Kila, he was said to have led a gang of armed robbers to rob a Colonel at Mbora Estate by Jabi District of Abuja, where the Colonel's AK-47 and other valuable items were removed.

But Ola Kila denied participating in the robbery, saying it was one Igbo boy...
According to police sources, operatives of the Special Anti Robbery Squad, working on a tip-off arrested him and while a search was conducted in his house around Life Camp area in Abuja, 16 live cartridges and some other incriminating exhibits were recovered from the suspect’s house.

During interrogation, it was discovered that the suspect allegedly belong to a notorious armed robbery gang that has been terrorizing the FCT and its environs.

But Ola Kila insisted that his friend, an Igbo boy, whom he knew to be a member of a robbery gang brought the gun and the cartridges to his house and that the boy has gone back to the East with the intention of bringing more arms and ammunition.

He disclosed that the said Igbo boy brought two laptops robbed at gun point to him, which he sold to buyers in the popular GSM Village, Abuja.

He also alleged that the said Igbo boy robbed a man at Life Camp and shot him sometimes in May this year.

Ola Kila and another suspect have been remanded in prison by Karu Area Magistrate Court pending further investigation and the arrest of the said Igbo boy
107  Forum / Naijapals Base (Metro life) / Teachers' verification video tops Edo's YouTube Channel on: 25-08-2013 11:17 PM

A video clip showing a primary school teacher in Edo State, Mrs. Augusta Odemwingie, who failed a reading test conducted by Governor Adams Oshiomhole, has continued to generate a debate on YouTube.

The clip is currently the most viewed out of the 68 videos available on the state government’s YouTube channel. It has attracted about 51,000 viewers as at the time of writing this report.

In the video — which is also a subject of debate on various social networking sites — the teacher could not read her own sworn affidavit during a teachers’ verification exercise, though she was alleged to have spent over 20 years on the job.

At a point, the woman pronounced ‘registered’ as ‘registrated,’ ‘declaration of age’ as ‘decreation of age,’ while she struggled to pronounce words written in the sworn affidavit that she allegedly submitted as part of her credentials.

Oshiomhole kept correcting her pronunciation errors, and then, he paused for a while and asked, “Who is the teacher?”  Unable to restrain herself from laughing over the development, Odemwingie replied the governor, saying, “You are the teacher, sir.’’

There has been reactions from people on this. I took time to see that despite many blames on her, I still discover few people kicked against the act calling, it barbaric.

Below are the comments on YouTube. More of the blames are against Gov. Oshiomole and the failed educational system

Pastor Biodun and Ese Walter when the going was good

It was an atmosphere of artificial crowd and artificial shouting in COZA, .com observed, as the man in the eye of the storm, Pastor Biodun Fatoyinbo mounted the pulpit during Sunday service to REACT to what you all have been reading about him in the social media.

And the Pastor Fatoyinbo said:
"I'm sure you read somethings about me in the social network. I've been receiving calls from different people even big people in government... They have been advising me; 'don't talk, we understand'.
Read my lips: Because I know that there are people here that are not part of us:
We are going to speak but we are consulting. We'll come out with a robust reply.....but for now...we ask God he said 'don't talk'.... My destiny is not in anybody's hands..

He also said something like people are trying to bring him down because he is building a new church, saying: "Brethren, no one will see our new church building site and not want to bring us down."
Well, let's not make conclusion now. But I'm kind of surprised why Pastor Fatoyinbo could not go STRAIGHT TO POINT  on this matter. Ha!! I think you are feeling the same way too.
What's really going on?

This a strict sound of warning for siblings to be wary of their affections for one another. Too much of anything is not good; with no exceptions to affection. You know a bombshell can't be lighted and kept under the bosom. NO! It will surely explode. This lady in question, though expresses are remorse, but the damage is done already.

Read the story line yourself:

Strange! Me and my younger brother have always been close, he's 18, I'm 20 and recently we've seen our relationship blossom.
I wish I were trolling, that what I'm about to tell you is a lie - but it's not, please don't judge me.

It's been this way for a month now, we'd always been typically close siblings but ever since he broke up with his girlfriend, I would comfort him and say "it's alright, you'll find someone perfect someday."
Last week we were in his room and I said those exact words, we looked into one another's eyes and kissed. It felt weird, he came onto me but I reciprocated and before long we were french kissing on his bed, he was touching my knee.  Then, of course, our parents returned and I felt wrong. Kind of gross, even.
I went back to my room and cried. The next day we were home alone and he kissed me again, things got out of hand and we were doing things to each other, then we made passionate love and reclined into one another's arms. It's been almost three days since we made love, we've been kissing and doing other things whenever we can and I can honestly say that we are in love.

We've been planning our future together, and I'm beginning to think I made a HUGE mistake - I love him, but I'm not sure if it's like that.

What should I do? I don't condone what I did at all, please don't mock me, he came on to me and I was

117  Forum / Relationships & Romance / Ese Walter Deletes Her Facebook, Twitter Accounts, Confesses Her Sins on: 24-08-2013 01:56 PM

In response to the post this lady made on her blog yesterday, I guess she's having a rethink or something and now she did something more suspicious --- deleting her Facebook and Twitter profiles. As at now .com has not heard word from the church.

Meanwhile, here's a touching letter Ese wrote to Jesus before she publicly made her confession.
Dear Jesus,
I think I have erred this long because instead of getting to know you, I chose to pretend I already knew you.
Perhaps it was because everyone acted the same and I didn’t want to feel left out. Maybe I had heard about you too long to say I didn’t know you.

The truth however is, I really didn’t know you. It was impossible to fathom your love or why you would give it to a stubborn like me. Everywhere I went to find comfort and a way to relate to you, I was deceived.
The people, the church, the pastors, the messengers of peace…. All were out for their own selfish gains. After trying to understand what it meant to hear someone say “Jesus saved me,’ I finally gave up.
After moving from gatherings to gatherings I started to realize most of the words that proceeded from the mouth of the saints were mere words with no meaning. It was a damn religious circle and I was done with it.
Then there were the ‘mantles’ in form of handkerchiefs, anointing oils, gimmicks, dead works, pride in men who claimed to work for you and are generally referred to as ‘men of God.’ Reverence that bothered on fear for human beings, blind following of the pew, segxwal immorality amongst pastors and their members, greed, politics in the affairs of the church and the list goes on and on.
I really was sick of it all Lord. So, I gave up. I didn’t mean to quit but something in me had seen enough and I didn’t want to be a part of the whole charade. In an attempt to keep my sanity, I ran. Further and further from your people and also from You.
I ran right back to the mud you brought me from. I ran back to the familiar. I ran back to a system that was real and thriving and even though it didn’t fill the void I felt on the inside of me, it numbed the pain.
It was good to be with people who didn’t pretend to believe what they didn’t understand. It felt safe to know that I wasn’t ever going to need to say “Jesus saved me” without fully understanding what that meant. I found peace with people who were real enough to say, ‘I want to live my life as I please and not have to account for nothing.’
It was easier to stay home on Sunday mornings than gather with a set of people who couldn’t understand why I didn’t fit in or who looked down their noses at me when I wore something they considered ‘unholy’ to the ‘house of God.’In all, it was great I was pushed out. It was great I stayed away from all the drama, stories, lies, greed, judgment and what not that pervaded ‘your house.’ Above it all, it was great I started to feel empty again.

This emptiness drove me to a deeper search for meaning. It drove me to me. It drove me to search the scriptures for myself, perhaps for the first time. And most excitedly, it drove me to You.
As I grow in knowing you Jesus, I realize that more and more of my authentic self begins to emerge. I realize that it’s not so hard forgiving those who have hurt me. I realize that I don’t have to be like everyone else or judge people. All I need to do is accept your love, your gift of salvation and rest in it.
I have no intention of ‘spiricoco-ing’ up neither do I point fingers at the way people choose to live but I have made up my own mind to embrace the light you bring and by my living, show others just how simple it is. Because of my experiences and the way I keep surviving, I am gentler with others and myself. I don’t fully understand my process yet, but I am learning to see me the way your word says you see me. I am attracting into my space, people, circumstances and events that are putting me right on the path I want to travel.
Today I say thank you. Thank you for staying with me like you said you would. Thank you for your Spirit that leads and guides me into all truth and continues to lead me even when I insist on holding on to a lie. Thank you for not allowing me die before my time. Thank you for the hope and assurance in my heart. Thank you for helping me develop a stronger sense of purpose.
Thank you for the tender heart I have. Thank you for my LA187 family, they have helped me in more ways than they could ever imagine. Thank you for my biological family who aren’t perfect but are just right for me. Thank you for peace, joy, love, understanding and the ability to empathize. Thank you for health, for soundness of mind and complete functioning body parts.
Thank you for your blood that speaks better things than the blood of bulls or goats (my mind is still trying to comprehend what all that slaughtering was about back then though) lol.I am coming back to the heart of worship Jesus and it’s always been about you.
As I continue on my path, please continue to keep me. For the most part, I don’t know what I am doing but I intend to stay true to the ‘knowing’ in my heart.
At the end of my time here, let me say “I fought the good fight, I finished the course, I kept the faith.
Yours in service,
Ese Walter.

Though it is widely believed that the South African housemate, Angelo, had sex with the Nigerian housemate, Beverly, in the ongoing Big Brother Africa reality show, the deadlocked guy has denied it.
According to him, they were 'just kissing'. Here's what he told Saturday Beats Punch in a phone chat:
"We didn't have sex. We talked about it. There were some things I said I wasn't going to do in the house. I respect my mum so much. Before I got into the house, there were things I told my mummy I wasn't going to do. I wasn't butt naked. It looked as if we were having sex in that
bathtub. We were just kissing. I couldn't take advantage of Beverly because I respect her so much.
"We will try and work things out and see how we can make our relationship work. At the same time, I hope the people of Nigeria don't hate Bev. I would love to come to Nigeria and experience Nigerian culture and take lots of pepper,"
It was reported that Angelo also said he wasn't in any relationship before he got into the show.

"I didn't have a girlfriend before I got into the house, but I had someone I told to wait for me so that we would see what would happen when I get out of the house. I will be focused on what I want to do as a person and then focus on my relationship with Bev and see where we will take it to," he said.
119  Forum / Politics / Is The Subject Of Marijuana Debatable? Harmful? on: 24-08-2013 04:09 AM
Let's look at this issue together since there are increasing degree of freedom these days due to enlightenment and civil rights

Marijuana, ordinarily, is a weed. The dried leaves, flowering tops and stems, which can be used as a drug because of the curative properties are wrapped into cigarettees form and often smoked by people. Cannabis is the plant yielding the marijuana leaves. It’s name is  derived  from Latin American Spanish.
Historically,  Marijuana came into Nigeria after the first and second world wars when Nigerians were conscipted  to fight on the sides of Britain. Some of the soldiers on their return from Burma and  North African military campaigns brought the weeds home.
Initially, Marijuana had several local names apart from the popular one – Indian Hemp. It used to be called “Morocco,””Igboo,” “Ganja”, “Smoke”, “Grass”,”Weewee”, “Stone” etc.
Because of its attribution to “mental disorder”, the authorities criminalised the smoking of Marijuana as anyone found in possession of it, or caught smoking is liable to be sentenced to six months in prison without option of fine. That was the situation until the military intervention on January 15, 1966, when the army took over from elected civilian government.
However, it was the military government of Yakubu Gowon who changed the punishment for smoking and possessing Indian Hemp from six  months to 10 years imprisonment, thus making people to be aware that Marijuana was dangerous and could be the cause of violent crimes in the society.
This led to the police getting more returns from those caught smoking the weed at different joints and homes across the country.
However when the Gowon regime was overthrown, the new military government of Maj-Gen Murtala Muhammed saw no reason for the long jail term for Indian hemp offences and therefore repelled that law, reverting the punishment to six months prison term. This was received by the people with a sigh of relief. The sentence for marijuana possession had remained soft and flexible till the coming of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency, NDLEA, which introduced stiff penalties for offenders  and  other serious drugs like cocaine, heroin, etc.
Marijuana has been found not to be harmful nor addictive and people need not be afraid of its usage, although it can make the smoker “high”, and operating in  another thought-level.
There are research studies indicating the medicinal, herbal, healing and curative qualities of marijuana.
In some states in America, there is what is called “Medical Marijuana”which could be legally used with doctor’s prescription.
Doctors can prescribe marijuana for some ailments like epilepsy which has no cure, except by marijuana.
Even children of two years and above are given “edible marijuana” for cure of epilepsy which has been very effective to control the frequent seizures. So the recreational and medicinal  use of marijuana are now gaining ground in USA. Governor Christie of New Jersey is sending a bill to the state legislature to legalise use of marijuana for medical purposes. Edible marijuana administered to a 2-year old child suffering from epilepsy has worked perfectly well with the child fully cured and seizures reduced from 100 a day now to zero.

Kukere is a local dance in Nigeria. I don't even know how to describe this. Ok, I'll try.... right leg at the back, bend your waist forward, adjust right buttocks, making sure that right feet isn't touching the ground.... yes the shoulder too, moving in the direction of the right leg; and vise versa... I don try jor.

In fact, this dance has gone more than viral. And that's what those soldiers are refreshing themselves with. All work and no play makes Jack a dull boy, so they say. Lol!  Grin Grin Cool
