1  Forum / The Buzz Central / WEIRD:Female Teacher Arrested For Having Sex And Sharing Nood Photos with studen on: 13-08-2013 07:36 AM
An English teacher at high school is accused of inappropriate contact with a student after the boy's mother reportedly caught her with her son in a swimming pool at the apartment complex where they live.

Lesley Ann Sharp faces charges of improper relationship between educator and student, possession or promotion of child pornography, tampering with physical evidence and perjury, according to the Dallas Morning News. The 24-year-old teacher is accused of accused of having sex with the 17-year-old more than 25 times, in locations such as her car, her apartment and even "in his apartment while the student’s parents were not home."

The child pornography charges stem from explicit photos that Sharp allegedly exchanged with the boy via text message, according to police. Police allege that Sharp and the student, a freshman at Hillcrest High School, “exchanged 116 telephone calls, 173 multi-media messages and 15,371 text messages” between May and July of this year.

Sharp allegedly tried to delete information that she had synced from her iPhone to her school-issued laptop before handing the computer over to investigators. Police also claim Sharp told the victim to delete photos and messages after she learned of the investigation.

In a letter to parents, Hillcrest High School principal Ronald Jones wrote that Sharp was a new teacher and would not be returning to the school next year:

"It has been brought to our attention that one of our staff members was recently arrested on an allegation that she had an inappropriate relationship with one of our students. The teacher was new to our staff this year and is believed to have had this relationship with only one student."

A Dallas Independent School District spokesman told the Dallas Morning News that Sharp was placed on leave pending the outcome of the criminal case.

2  Forum / The Buzz Central / Boko Haram Kills At Least 60 People In Fresh Borno Attacks on: 13-08-2013 07:29 AM
Some members of the terror group, Boko Haram, dressed in military uniform, crept upon worshipping villagers in a mosque in Konduga, 34km southeast of Maiduguri, and shot dead at least 44 worshippers, injuring 26 others, gistdoctor.com learnt..

A House of Assembly member representing Konduga in the State Assembly, Ali Dalori, confirmed the attack to journalists, but declined giving details of the casualty.

A hospital security guard, who pleaded anonymity at the Accident and Emergency ward of the University of Maiduguri Teaching Hospital, confirmed to PREMIUM TIMES that 26 persons were brought to the hospital on Sunday.

“Some are admitted here in the A and E ward and others have been taken to the Amenity Ward; we are under instructions not to allow visitors into the ward, please,” said the security guard.

The Konduga attack coincided with a similar attack on Ngom village, 5km east of Maiduguri, where about 12 villagers were killed. An operative of the vigilante in Maiduguri tagged Civilian-JTF, Usman Musa, told reporters in Maiduguri that a troop of soldiers and youth vigilante had been deployed to Konduga on Sunday but met a fierce resistance from the heavily armed terrorists.

“We lost four of our members in the Civilian-JTF when they arrived Konduga yesterday, I don’t know about the soldiers; but it was a very bad incident yesterday. Some of our members made it back on foot through bush paths this morning,” Musa said.

The Military Joint Task Force, JTF, is yet to speak on the latest Borno Killings while some Nigerians have continued to question the effectiveness of the State of Emergency in Borno and neighbouring Yobe and Adamawa states as the killings by insurgents continue.

The Boko Haram leader, Abubakar Shekau, has in a video, claimed the responsibility for the killings in Konduga and earlier ones in Gamboru and others that led to the death of at least 14 soldiers.continue  <a href="/jaTBSqLFcv">HERE[/url]

3  Forum / The Buzz Central / NO STRESS: 3 Simple Ways To Impress Women And Get Them To Like You on: 13-08-2013 07:24 AM
Looking for ways to impress the girl you like? Here are a few points you need to keep in mind...

Do not try too hard

First and foremost do not try to impress her! There is the big secret. The best way to impress a girl is not to impress her. Wondering how this really works? Well when most guys try to impress girls they tend to become more unauthentic and try to show off with almost anything and everything. Girls are not impressed by such tactics and would end up putting you in their list of 'the show off' guys. The best way to impress a girl is to be yourself and let things happen automatically.

Let her respect who you are

You are highly mistaken if you think that girls have only money and material things on their mind. If you find that a girl is impressed by your money than she is probably looking for money and not for you. The best way to impress a girl and retain your status is by the way of natural talents which involve the way you talk and present yourself. You need girls to respect you for what you are and not what you or your parents possess.

Talk her in

One of things which almost every girl demands and gets impressed by is intellectuality. Try to develop your intellectual skills. This can be done by reading up and increasing your knowledge. Read more books and be up-to-date with the latest happenings. Remember being a good talker is the foundation of impressing almost any girl. No girl would be impressed by you unless you have something which is different from the rest. Girls normally get hit on by several guys everyday and almost all those boys try to impress them with all they've got. If you are doing and following the same tactics as all those boys than you would never succeed in your quest to impress girls. Show your true self while trying to impress a girl. Don't talk to her with the quest to impress rather try to do what you normally do.

4  Forum / The Buzz Central / SHOCKING: Farmer Murders His Daughter's Lover In Ondo on: 13-08-2013 07:21 AM
Detectives in Ondo State have arrested a farmer in Idanre Local Government Area of the state, Mr Ojo, for allegedly killing his daughter’s lover.

However, it was alleged by the mother of the deceased that after his son was killed, the suspect hanged him on a tree to create impression that he committed suicide.

But Police were still investigating the matter.

The deceased, Ego George, 22, who was a commercial motorcycle rider was dating the suspect’s 20-year-old daughter, Feyi, a secondary school student.

Vanguard gathered that the suspect allegedly committed the crime at Jemgbe Camp, a settlement in Idanre. He is said to be a native of Kabba in Kogi State while the deceased is from Orogun in Ughelli North Local Government Area of Delta State.

Narrating how the suspect allegedly killed his son, the mother, Mrs Grace George, said prior to the unfortunate incident there had been threats from Ojo to kill Ego should he not leave his daughter alone.

Mrs George alleged that after killing his son, Ojo hanged him to create impression that he committed suicide, explaining that a day before the tragic incident, he came with a policeman to arrest his son.

She said: “Ojo came to Ego’s house in Jemgbe with the policemen to arrest him on Wednesday night, July 31, 2013 but did not meet him at home.

“The following day, which was Thursday, August 1, Ego was reportedly missing. They later saw Ego’s corpse in the bush on Monday August 5.”

Confirming the incident, the Police image maker, Wole Ogodo, said the body of the deceased had been taken to hospital for autopsy.

The suspect, according to him, had been arrested and transferred to state CID, Akure.

Ogodo said  “From the briefs I have gotten so far, I think what happened was that a case of suicide was reported to DPO Idanre.

“As police was trying to take action, we went to that place to remove the boy from the hanging tree, they said the Baale of that place said before the boy is removed, that it was a taboo and some rituals had to be performed.

“So, while doing that, the DPO saw Ojo and tactically brought him to station and arrested him.

“While doing that, the mother of the deceased alleged that about four days ago, there was a rift between her son and one Ojo alleging that he was dating his daughter. That she never believed that her son could commit suicide.

Ogodo said “So, the case was transferred to State CID. The corpse was removed from the hanging tree. They have taken it to hospital for autopsy to determine whether it was suicide or murder”

6  Forum / The Buzz Central / Mechanic Kills Wife Of 30 Years Then Commits Suicide By Jumping In Front Of Trai on: 12-08-2013 07:27 PM
A mechanic is believed to have murdered his wife and then killed himself when he was hit by a train.

Nigel Maude, 58, died on the tracks near the rural village of Hoghton, Lancashire, on Sunday morning.

British Transport Police went to his home nearby to inform his wife of 30 years Judith where they found her body in an upstairs bedroom.

Detectives with Lancashire Police have now started a murder investigation but say they are not looking for anyone else in connection with the incident.

Today, neighbours spoke of their shock at the deaths of a 'happy and quiet' couple, who had two daughters and four grandchildren.

Mr Maude worked as a mechanic and lived with his wife in a semi-detached home in Charles Crescent in Hoghton. They had lived there since inheriting the property from his parents.

Next door neighbour, Celia Livesey: 'They were a devoted couple and all they lived for was their family. They were very quiet and very pleasant. I only really saw them to say hello over the fence.

'They loved their grandchildren, they had four grandchildren, one girl and three boys.

'The first time I knew anything was about 8.30pm and saw all the police and the ambulance.

'Judith didn’t work and Nigel worked at Leyland Motors, I don’t think he was retired. I’m just so shocked, I really can’t believe it.'

Another neighbour, who asked to remain anonymous, said: 'I knew them both, if you were to say "who is a couple who never argued" you would say them.

'I had known him since primary school and known Judith since she was 15. I still can’t believe it has happened.'

'He served as a mechanic before going to Leyland Motors. I don’t think he has been very well and I think he may have been in hospital but I don’t know why.

'They were together all the time. They liked walking. They have been married 30-odd years.

'You couldn’t ask for a nicer couple and couldn’t find a bad word to say about him. He was a Preston North End supporter.

'He couldn’t fall out with anyone if he tried. He was a real family man, he was devoted to his grandchildren.'

Detective Superintendent Paul Withers from the Force Major Investigation Team said: 'An investigation is underway to establish the circumstances of exactly what has happened. We are still at the very early stages of our enquiry but at this moment in time we do not believe we are looking for anyone else in connection with the enquiry.'

7  Forum / The Buzz Central / FIRST EVER: Pastor Adeboye Voices Plans To Build 3-km Long Church on: 12-08-2013 07:23 PM
It has been recently announced by the General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), Pastor Enoch Adejare Adeboye, that the church would build a three-kilometres long auditorium in Nigeria. The statement has prompted controversy among Nigerians, with some calling the investment a "waste" and yet another confirmation that Nigerian churches are veering off the religious teachings.

Controversy As Pastor Adeboye Voices Plans To Build 3-km Long Church

Pastor Adeboye claims that the existing auditorium, built in 2000 with a capacity to sit one million people at once, could no longer accommodate millions of people who attend service.

The new auditorium which would be built at the mission's camp ground at km 46, Lagos-Ibadan expressway would also be three kilometres wide. This will make the auditorium a humongous 9km square auditorium, and one of the top ten churches in the world in area size.

The Holy Ghost Service was one of the programmes lined up for the 61st Annual Convention of the church, and Adeboye promised that the project will start soon and will be completed before the 62nd Convention in August 2014. He solicited for donations from members toward making the project a reality.

But not long after the announcement was made public that Nigerians reacted angrily on social media with many describing churches in the country as business centres.

According to one reader, Adeboye should rather build a three-kilometre farm land and employ a million unemployed youths in Nigeria instead of wasting money on a building.

"So what impact will this have on the common man? More queues on Lagos-Ibadan Express Way, making life unbearable for travellers on Lagos-Ibadan route whenever programmes are going on," said another reader, adding, "While I commend such vision, I think the billions of naira that will be used for such project could do the common man good if such is used to build affordable hospitals, schools, scholarships and provide basic needs for the common man."

According to yet another user, Nigerians are hungry and unemployment rate is sky-high but churches are wasting their resources on buildings and other investments rather than tackling poverty.

"Why not use that money to build a non-profit organisation and employ our youths?" he queried.

Another reader thinks that, despite constant prayers, deliverance services and vigils in these big churches, Nigeria remains stuck in darkness and corruption.

"If they like, they should convert the whole of Oyo State and Ogun State to church there's still nothing to show for it . No light. Even the General Overseer has more bodyguards than government officials and moves about in Helicopter/Private jet," he said, adding that the road to Adeboye's church is a death trap.

According to another's opinion, "Building long auditourium means more tithe. For God's sake, these churches can industrialise Nigeria!"

Others reckon Nigeria needs jobs and not competing in being among the largest church in the world: "We can see clearly that all the countries that have these large churches are economically stable in terms of infrastructure and job creation, unlike Nigeria that any idea by church only benefits the immediate people at the top . We read about Abraham, Isaac and Jacob, they were all farmers creating jobs for their followers and not people that expand churches."

To one reader, religion is the bane of Nigeria: "I have said it time without number that religion is the bane of our country. Remove religion from the affairs of man and there will be peace. I have watched closely some of our colleagues who have been brainwashed to believe that prayers from the so-called men of God is all that is required to be saved," he said, adding that church followers believe and swallow everything they are told by their pastors.

Another reader said he would not mind being given the contract for the fencing of the church.

Some say it is good news Nigerians are waking up from spritual hypnotism: "They (Nigerian pastors) are worse than armed robbers. They are con artists who are not afraid of God's punishment. Some of Nollywood actors and actresses have also dumped acting and joined these con artists because, it is more lucrative than acting or 419 business."

10  Forum / The Buzz Central / 7 Useful Tips for Driving in Nigeria on: 12-08-2013 05:29 PM
7 Useful Tips for Driving in NigeriaEverybody might be driving and getting from one point to the other; but how does one optimize the consumption of fuel, control overall cash spending on cars and still achieve extended vehicle life? The simple trick is by driving smart; to make this happen, here are a few useful tips worth considering:

1. Hold Some Spare Cash.

In the U.S or U.K you get speeding tickets, but over here in Nigeria you either pay on the spot or gear up for higher payments plus demurrage when you find yourself on the wrong side of the law. You should never underestimate how far you can go bargaining with your temper in check. However, if you are lucky to get a ticket, take it in good fate and let it serve as a deterrent.

2. Love the Freeway.

The expressway alternative may seem quite longer and maybe more time consuming, but the truth is your engine needs an inner bump every now and then and those seemingly favourable short-cuts don’t do your engine any good. Driving on freeways with high speeds foster better engine lubrication and helps improve mileage (lower fuel consumption) comparatively especially when you use air-conditioners and higher gears.

3. Maintain Your Car the Right Way.

Cut down your overall spending by spending on the right things at the right time.

4. Select the Right Car.

Arm yourself with all the necessary car selection tricks before reaching out to your wallet or bank account. The first step is to identify your core needs before even deciding on your budget. With your budget in mind you can select the car you need and research further; yes research further! More than 80% of Nigerians don’t research; they will rather depend on referrals.

5. You Don’t Always Need to Drive.

The Lagos state government for instance has been an advocate for green driving; in recent times they even made concerted efforts improve the efficiency of the BRT (bus rapid transit) scheme and also making it cheaper (as low as N20) to commute along some routes. With this new improvement, even if you are not thinking ‘green’ at least you can use the green-Naira note to get around.

6. Love Your Cabin.

This is the only reason I try not to judge people when I see all manner of weird objects as decorations; besides it’s their interior and their haven. Getting your cabin conditions right means you spend more time focused on driving instead of fussing.

7. Love You.

Go beyond bearing it in mind that you need to love you and start acting like you actually do love yourself. According to FRSC, ‘about 1,936 persons were killed in road traffic accidents across the country between January and June this year’, also it’s important to point out that a large percentage of these accidents are as a result of human factors and errors.

12  Forum / The Buzz Central / DISCIPLINE:My Parents Still Scold Me — Most Beautiful Girl In Nigeria, Anna Bann on: 12-08-2013 05:22 PM
Most Beautiful Girl In Nigeria 2013, Anna Banner in a recent interview talks about winning the crown, her male admirers and her future plans for Bayelsa State.

Background

My name is Anna Banner. I am 18 years old. I am the current Most Beautiful Girl in Nigeria.  I hail from Bayelsa State. I am the first girl but last child of my parents.

I had my secondary education in Port Harcourt last year and in the last Unified Matriculation Examinations, I scored 214 and was waiting to write post-UME. I applied to read communications at University of Port Harcourt. I worked partly at an oil company in Port-Harcourt because I didn’t want to be idle.

Support from parents

I had the support of my parents. Initially, I did not tell them about the auditions. I thought that I would not make it to the final. It was only after I scaled through the audition process that I informed them and they were happy. There were even at the finals to cheer me on.

Winning the crown

This is my first attempt at a beauty pageant. I had always wanted to participate in a pageant but I never got encouragement until a friend advised me to buy the form. I went for auditions and saw so many beautiful girls. I felt intimidated and did not even expect to make it to the grand finale. I won due to God’s grace and not because I was the prettiest or had the loudest applause. It is not because I am from Bayelsa. My victory was purely on merit.

 I remain my old self

I am still Anna Banner; it is just that I am wearing a crown. Adjusting to my new status has not been easy because a lot of things are new to me. For instance, I get more calls from well wishers, my Facebook page has been bombarded by requests but in all, I am grateful to God. Sometimes, I feel I have been robbed of my privacy but I know every queen before me experienced same and I am handling it all.

Pet project

Being a queen is a selfless assignment and not a ticket to join the world of glamour. The crown has given me a platform to actualise my dreams which is helping humanity and the best part it I will be doing it on a larger scale. My area of focus will be HIV/AIDS.

Role models

As the first female black president in Africa, I admire Ellen Sirleaf-Johnson for her strength, courage and resilience. Apart from her, I also have God and my mother as role models that inspire me.

Dream for Bayelsa State

As a Special Adviser on Culture and Tourism to my state governor, I will use the MBGN platform to awaken people to the tourism potential in the state such that it will generate revenue and also create employment opportunities. By the end of my reign, I want Bayelsa to have become the Dubai of Nigeria.

Male attention

The men have been there even before I went for the pageant, so it is not a new thing to me. I just try to stay focused on other things without getting distracted by the attention I receive from the opposite sex. I come from a family where my parents don’t spare the rod and are religious. I have always had a curfew time and prior to MBGN, I had to be home by 6pm, before then it was 5 pm.

Now it has been relaxed a bit because they realise that my designation sometimes demand that I am out a little bit later than my curfew. Except for that, since I became queen, my parents have refused to treat me differently. I still do house chores and I am sure they will still scold me if the need arises.

Fashion

I like to look chic and glamorous. I don’t like wearing high-heel shoes but I don’t have a choice now. When shopping for shoes, I go for comfortable heels which I can wear for four or five hours without feeling stressed.

Beauty routine

I drink a lot of water, get enough rest by sleeping and I never sleep with make-up on because my pores need to breath. I also eat plenty of fresh vegetables and fruits. Staying slim is not a struggle and I eat moderately. But I still visit the gym to keep fit not necessarily to lose weight. My statistics is 34-26-39 and I am 5 ft 7.

MIRACLE: 9 Cars Badly Damaged, but None of 45 Passengers Killed in DeltaNot less than nine cars were involved in a multiple collision on the Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA) Expressway in Warri, Delta State on Sunday, August 11, 2013.

Reportedly, the crash occurred at about 1 p.m. at a roadblock manned by soldiers involved in special security surveillance in the city.

It was a miracle that no one died in the ghastly auto crash in which most of the vehicles involved were badly damaged, but none of the 45 passengers was killed, and some who sustained injuries were rushed to nearby hospitals for medical attention.

According to an eyewitness, nine children were among the 45 passengers who escaped death. The children were conveyed in a Toyota Camry car with plate number, Delta EFR 785 AM.

It has been also learnt that the collision occurred when the break of a lorry loaded with sand failed and it ran into other vehicles at the checkpoint near the Ogunu flyover.

Speaking on his miraculous escape, owner of the car into which the lorry hit, Mr. Rowland Adejewhoro, said he lost control of his car when the lorry suddenly slammed into it, pushing it to ram into the vehicle in front of him, setting off a domino effect.

“How we escaped unhurt is a miracle. I’ve never seen such an accident before. I can only thank God for saving me because we could have been crushed to death by the tipper. Imagine the children that were in my car!” the man said.

In his reaction, Transition Chairman of Warri South Local Government Area, Dr. Austine Oroye, absolved the soldiers of any blame, as he said the roadblock was legitimate.

Till present moment, is was not possible to obtain any comments from Commanding Officer, 3rd Battalion, Nigerian Army Effurun, Lt. Col. Ifeanyi Out.

The university town of Nsukka in Enugu State has witnessed yet another brutal death as a tipper driver who allegedly impregnated a widow and her daughter has reportedly been burnt to death by son of the widow, Sunday Ugwoke.

It was gathered by gistdoctor.com that the tipper driver, Sylvester Ezema, attached to  Ferguson Nig. Limited hailed from Akpa Edem, Nsukka Local Government  Area, Enugu State and shared a common fence boundary with his widowed lover, Mrs. Ugwoke.

Report said he had been having amorous dealings with the woman’s daughter too unknown to the widow before he died  a few days ago.

According to report, Sylvester was allegedly burnt to death by Sunday, who had warned him to leave his mother alone and stop making love with her in his late father’s bedroom, which is adjacent to his room, a warning the  deceased allegedly turned down and continue with his amorous act.

Vanguard gathered that Sylvester defied all the warnings by Sunday, saying the widow was a family friend and as such nobody would  suspect them.

Having defied his warning, Sunday, armed with grind pepper and petrol ambushed the lover boy. As Sylvester stepped out of the house, Sunday poured the  grind pepper and petrol on Sylvester and  set him ablaze.

Barely seven months after its occupants were ejected, the Atitebi Police Barracks in Ebute Meta, Lagos State, has turned into a spot where hoodlums smoke hemp and rape young girls.

photo Barely seven months after its occupants were ejected, the Atitebi Police Barracks in Ebute Meta, Lagos State, has turned into a spot where hoodlums smoke hemp and rape young girls.

People living close to the barracks said  the hoodlums sneak  into  the   premises and rob  at night.

A source, who pleaded anonymity, told gistdoctor.com that the building was formerly occupied by some policemen, who were ejected in January 2013 on the excuse that it was due for renovation.

The source   said, “The place was formerly occupied by some policemen. But they were given quit notice, saying it was due for renovation. But when they did not  quit, they were ejected in January.

“Since  then,  we see all manner of things in that place. Hoodlums  have now taken over the place. They smoke Indian  hemp  openly  and even rape innocent girls  at night.

“When they snatch bags and get into that place, that’s the end of the story.”

A trader, who said he had been living close to the barracks for a long time, added that  the hoodlums who take refuge in the building were  many.

He said, “I cannot count the number of hoodlums  living there. This place started to degenerate immediately the policemen were asked to leave. It’s very unfortunate.”

PUNCH Metro visited the complex and observed that the corridors were littered with faeces and heaps of refuse.

The Stench of marijuana and urine  also filled the  air as many of the urchins  hurriedly moved  out through the stairways on sighting our correspondent, who they thought was a law enforcement agent.

It was discovered that although there was only one entrance leading to the barracks, five different exit doors had been created at the back.

The entrance to the barracks faces the Ebute Meta Magistrate Court while the exit points lead to the Ebute Meta railway line.

A secondary school pupil living opposite the barracks said he had seen a number of girls being dragged into the abandoned barracks.

He said, “I live opposite the barracks. Since the evacuation of the policemen, I have  heard that those area boys rape some innocent girls there. Any time they steal anything and they run into the place, they mysteriously disappear.”

A middle-aged woman living around the area’ who spoke on condition of anonymity’ said the police used to arrest the hoodlums in the building but stopped doing so because they kept returning.

She said, “We all live in fear here. That day, they came and forced the people living in the building out, saying they wanted  to renovate the place. Why ask them to leave when you know you are not ready to reconstruct it?”

The state command’s Police Public Relations Officer, Ngozi Braide, neither picked her calls nor returned the text messages sent to her.

When the Lagos State Building Control Agency was contacted, an official said the agency would send some of its officers to inspect the building on Monday (today).

18  Forum / Naijapals Base (Metro life) / HORRIBLE MISTAKE:Guard On Rescue Mission Mistakenly Kills Boss on: 12-08-2013 08:38 AM
The Lagos State Police Command has arrested a 30-year-old security guard, Segun Salami, for allegedly killing his boss, Alhaji Taiyewo Awolesi, in Ewuowa, Ikorodu area of the state.gistdoctor.com has learnt.

The police said the suspect was on his way to rescue Awolesi, who was being harassed by touts in the area, when he shot him in error.

But Salami said the bullet, which killed his master on July 25, 2013, did not emanate from his gun.

Salami, said, “I am a security guard in the neighbourhood and I am also a bricklayer at a cemetery in the area. A telecoms company is constructing a mast on Alhaji’s (Awolesi’s) property and he called me to help him to do some work.

“After I had completed the work, he gave me N500 and I left. I was on my way to the cemetery when I started hearing gunshots.

“Alhaji called me on the telephone, saying I should come to his rescue because touts were harassing him for money because of the mast being constructed on his land.

“I went to get my locally made gun, put some gun powder in it and rushed back to Alhaji’s land which is very close to the cemetery.”

Salami said on arriving at the scene, he met a large number of thugs. He said he instructed the deceased to run away from the scene and report at the police station.

He said he had not even brought out his gun when the deceased was killed.

He said, “I strapped the gun to my back and was attempting to disperse the thugs when someone shot Alhaji.

“Immediately after Alhaji fell to the ground, all the hoodlums fled. I tried to get him to a hospital but he died on the way.”

The indigene of Ijebu Ode, Ogun State, described the incident as the handiwork of the devil.

The suspect, who claimed to be married with two children, said the deceased was his benefactor.

“Alhaji was a very nice man. When my wife gave birth to a baby boy two weeks ago, he gave us money. It was those hoodlums that caused the whole thing,” he said.

When asked if he was licensed to own a gun, he said, “The gun was not mine, it belonged to my grandfather and we used to to hunt birds.”

It was learnt that Awolesi had been buried according to Islamic rites.

The Police Public Relations Officer, Ngozi Braide, said she would call back.

19  Forum / Naijapals Base (Metro life) / After 19 Years Of Marriage, 52-Year-Old Woman Finally Gives Birth In Bayelsa on: 11-08-2013 07:18 PM
Mrs Kate Fezigha, a 52-year-old midwife at the General Hospital, Sagbama, Bayelsa, said she gave birth to a baby girl on June 3 to end 19-year barrenness.

Fezigha gave the testimony at the Child Dedication and Thanksgiving Service of the baby christened Prudent, in Yenagoa on Sunday.

She said she got married in 1994 and had supervised the delivery of many children and witnessed the joy and feeling of many mothers during labour and child birth.

According to her, an attempt to adopt a child from a Bayelsa-based Orphanage was fruitless as she was swindled by the purported coordinator of the home.

She said that her chances of conception were further reduced on attainment of menopause when she ceased to observe her monthly menstrual cycle.

She said that the arrival of  Prudent changed her story and brought joy and consolation to the family.

The elated  mother said that the conception and delivery of the miracle baby was “the Lord’s doing and it is marvelous in His sight’’.

Fezigha said the pressure became unbearable during the 19-years waiting, and she took stock of her service as a midwife but she managed to remain steadfast in her trust in God.

“It was not an easy experience to see others through the child bearing process and not to have your own child.

“And it is particularly touching when I have had a very successful  professional practice as a midwife.

“I have not lost any baby or mother under my care as a midwife under the Bayelsa Government,’’ she recalled.

She continued: “I was worried that many of the children I had taken delivery of during service were now parents.

“I even reflected and wondered why is it that that despite  the fact that no child had died in my hand during delivery as midwife, why can’t I have my own, but a voice kept telling me to redouble my effort and I shall be blessed.

“But the mysterious voice started reducing in my head as I was losing hope.

“I decided to adopt a baby from an orphanage and I was duped. At this stage, I deliberately killed the voice and hand it all to God.

“I asked him that I will not disturb him any longer. And if he decides to give me a child, so be it,’’ Fezigha said in her testimony.

Narrating her experience with childlessness Fezigha, explained  that a stage in her life, her mysterious sickness led her to take a scan and it was diagnosed to be either a ‘fibroid or Cyst’.

According to her, another scan later revealed that she was pregnant. I had mixed feelings after the second scan.

“I even told my husband that it is false pregnancy. When my husband asked me what that meant, I became his lecturer telling him what he meant and saw the expectation of a pregnancy in his eyes.

“Few months later, I started seeing some changes in my body. Throughout this period, I could not go to work and had to be hospitalised twice before I delivered.

“Those who knew me could not believe it and screamed when they see my swollen stomach. When they see me, they scream and shout praise the Lord,’’ she said amidst joy.

Fezigha, said that her family is full of praise to God, “all the period of waiting was not easy, but I am comforted by the word of God.

“Let me advice women that are hoping for a child to put their faith in God. God will give them a child and they should not patronise native doctors.’’
