It all started as a joke, he was simply somebody who nobody would give a second glance. That era has gone. Today, he is an A-list act, headlining shows, getting endorsement deals and basically, making millions. He is called Wizkid.
 No doubt, the young lad has paid his dues as it were, for few years back, nobody would have thought the ‘errand boy’ would grow to become this big. Indeed, his talents and luck, shone and now, Wizkid is a superstar.
 But it seems stardom is getting to his head.
 
Recently, the Internet was agog when the singer called a fan ‘broke’ for correcting a grammatical error he made.
The singer posted on his instagram that he was about to perform at a wedding with ‘an hangover’. The crime of the fan was telling Wizkid the correct thing to say was ‘a hangover’.
His reply angered fans who quickly reminded him that he was not born rich and it was the ‘broke’ fans who made him who he is at the moment.
Wiz hasn’t only been misbehaving online. The kid took his arrogance to another height when he allegedly poured his drink on a fan in London.
 
Speculation has it that all the fan did was to reach out to Wizkid to greet him. Probably trying to impress an American hip-hop sensation, Wiz allegedly called the fan, Oloshi (Idiot). The shocked American took to instagram to talk about Wiz’s atiitude.
Although the kid was lucky in London, luck ran out when he allegedly tried ignoring fans who had been waiting to get a glimpse of him in Lagos. This time the fans physically reacted to his arrogance.
Dear Wiz was reportedly stoned by angry fans at the VFS Global Services, Lekki Phase 1 over the his arrogant attitude and his refusal to part with some naira notes despite the much accolades he got from the cheering crowd who were so elated to catch a glimpse of him.
Apparently our wonder boy was in a foul mood or perharps, he wasn’t given a visa for he ‘boned’ and shunned the cheering crowd as he walked arrogantly into the waiting Porsche Cayenne.
It was gathered that Wizkid’s silence and arrogance got the cheering fans angrier and they stoned him as he drove off. Unfortunately for Wizkid, one of the stones hit his side mirror but he didn’t bother stopping anyway.
At the moment, not a few are angry with the kid and his attitude. Some fans told Saturday Beat that it was high time they “boycotted Wizkid.”
Another fan Reginald said, “Wizzy is just a kid and that is what he will be until he grows up! Let’s keep praying he grows soon.”

The accident happened late on Monday when a tyre on one of the buses burst and it swerved into oncoming traffic, hitting the other bus head-on.
Dozens of passengers said to have been injured in the accident were taken to hospitals in Qom.
Iran has one of the worst road safety records in the world, though it has been improving over recent years.
In the 1990s, there were about 28,000 deaths per year for the country's four million cars, reports AFP news agency.
But over the past two years the number of fatalities has dropped to about 20,000 despite car numbers soaring to 17 million.
The agency says a greater police presence on the roads coupled with a stiff rise in fines for dangerous driving has helped curb deadly accidents.
Monday's accident is said to have taken place at about 23:00 on the highway between the capital Tehran and the city of Qom to the south.
"The driver of a bus travelling from Isfahan lost control of his vehicle after one of his tyres burst," Col Ardeshir Jamshidi-rad, the head of traffic police in Qom province, was quoted as saying by AFP.
"He hit a car before finding himself in the oncoming lane, where he hit another bus. The two vehicles caught fire immediately," he said.

Home, sweet sinking home... Tenants occupying a sinking storey building located at 5, Chief Bereola Street, Surulere, Lagos, southwest Nigeria, have refused to leave the building which was marked for demolition by the Lagos State government.

After fire gutted the building for the second time, the state government under its agency, Lagos State Building Control Agency, LASBCA, ordered the tenants to pack out of the house, but they declined, even at the risk of their lives.
The last fire incident greatly damaged the integrity of the building.
During an inspection by officials of LASBCA they discovered that it was built near a canal and it was already sinking.
The LASBCA officials immediately ordered the tenants to pack out of the house, in view of the danger the defective building poses to them.
The building was sealed and the officials sticked the sealed order on the gate of the building.
At first the tenants complied initially and moved out with their families before LASBCA sealed it and marked it for demolition.
But lately some time tenants returned to the house without any repair or reconstruction of the building.
The residents wondered what might have happened that made some of the tenants to return to the house.
One of the residents said,"We are concerned of the danger the building poses to the occupants and the likely disaster that could happen if they continue living there."
The house owners locked the gate inside and removed the LASBCA sticker. Only the paint used to mark the building for demolition was still visible.

Also the efforts to speak with a female tenant proved abortive as she declined to speak with PM news reporter.
LASBCA official confirmed that the house was sealed off but could not say why the tenants returned to occupy it.
He also confirmed that LASBCA wrote to the tenants asking them to vacate the place.
The letter was signed by Alaka John Olufemi on behalf of the general manager.
"We will find out your claim and report to the General Manager the development," he said.

Details of a new law issued by China’s supreme court are bound to make loose talkers on Sina Weibo* and other social media platforms think twice before speaking freely.
The law says that any libelous posts or messages will be considered “severe” breaches of the law if they are visited or clicked on more than 5,000 times or retweeted more than 500 times.
Those found guilty could face up to three years in jail, reports Chinese state media.
As if that weren’t alarming enough, the threshold for being charged with this crime includes offenses as vague and subjective as “damaging the national image” and “causing adverse international effects.”
The law is the latest attempt to crack down on “black PR firms,” companies that make money from removing unflattering information from the internet.
Among other things, black PR firms often target companies, spreading gossip or misinformation about them, and then approaching them for payment in exchange for removing the smear campaign.
It’s a big business, the Sina Weibo accounts controlled by a huge black PR firm that was just busted had a total audience of 220 million followers.
Since the campaign against “rumor-mongering” and “spreading false information” picked up in June, Shanghai police have opened more than 380 cases, while Henan police have investigated a whopping 463 cases, making 131 arrests.
And it’s not just Sina Weibo. The police are also watching Tencent’s WeChat, which is organized mainly around private circles of friends.
But for every big black PR firm bust, authorities also seem to be ensnaring a lot of innocent users of social media.
For example, in late August, a women in Anhui province posted on Sina Weibo that 16 people died in a car accident that had just taken place, when the death toll was only 10.
Local police placed her under “administrative detention” for five days as punishment for “spreading rumors.”
In another case, a 20-year-old Anhui woman was imprisoned for posting the comment “I heard there was a murder in Louzhuang—is there anyone who knows what actually happened?” on a Baidu discussion board.
The post, which was clicked on 1,000 times, counted as “disrupting social order”.
In late August, a Weibo user stoked online discussion with a post saying that the “five heroes of Langya Mountain”—martyrs in the war against the Japanese who are a source of Communist Party pride—had actually been army deserters who oppressed the local villagers of Langya, and that the latter eventually gave them up to the Japanese.
This, determined the local police, “created unhealthy social effects”.
Authorities arrested and held the Weibo user under administrative detention for seven days. Something similar happened with four people who “defamed” the Party mascot, Lei Feng.
The new clarifications have big implications for harmless online chatter. If the posts of an amateur historian or inquisitive citizen garner enough attention, the author could face three years in prison.

An Ilorin Area court on Tuesday dissolved the four-year-old marriage between one Toibat Bello and Kazeem Bello over the husband’s smoking habit.
Toibat, 30, a resident of Edun Area, Ilorin, had earlier prayed the court to dissolve her marriage to Kazeem over his ‘uncontrolled smoking habit’ which is worrisome, complaining that her husband was addicted to cigarettes.
The lady also told the court that the marriage which was contracted in 2009, had yet to produce any child and her husband was not providing for the needs of the family but, instead, he derived pleasure in dinning and wining with friends.
“I have tried my best to caution him but he refused to change and I cannot condone his smoking habit anymore,” she said.
On his own, Kazeem, the defendant said: “My wife knew I smoked cigarette before she agreed to marry me; so I cannot just understand why she is now complaining about my smoking habit.”
He, however, urged the court to grant the prayer of the plaintiff.
The presiding Judge, Mr Yusuf Abdulkareem, dissolved the marriage and issued a certificate of divorce to the plaintiff.

Merely being "intimate" with another woman is not sufficient ground for a man to be held guilty of inflicting cruelty on his wife on the charge of failing to discharge his marital obligations, the Supreme Court of India ruled on Monday.
Wife Commited Suicide After Husband's Adultery
Only if treatment meted out to the wife is of a nature as is likely to drive her to commit suicide will it fall within the ambit of Section 498A of IPC, a provision of the penal code providing up to three years in jail, said the bench.
"We are of the view that the mere fact that the husband has developed some intimacy with another, during the subsistence of marriage, and failed to discharge his marital obligations, as such would not amount to cruelty," said a bench of Justices K S Radhakrishnan and P C Ghose.
The SC reading of what constitutes cruelty brought relief to a man who had been convicted by both the trial court and the high court for behaviour that resulted in the suicide of his wife due to an alleged extra-marital affair at his place of work.
The ruling came in a case where the wife committed suicide suspecting the husband of intimacy with a woman colleague in office.
The trial court and the Gujarat high court held him guilty under Section 498A for causing cruelty to his wife and under Section 306 of IPC for abetting suicide.
"Harassment, of course, need not be in the form of physical assault and even mental harassment also would come within the purview of Section 498A IPC.
Mental cruelty, of course, varies from person to person, depending upon the intensity and the degree of endurance, some may meet with courage and some others suffer in silence, to some it may be unbearable and a weak person may think of ending one's life," the bench said.
But keeping in view the case before it, the apex court set aside the concurrent judgments to exonerate the man of any wrongdoing and said,
"We, on facts, found that the alleged extra-marital relationship was not of such a nature as to drive the wife to commit suicide or that husband had ever intended or acted in such a manner which under normal circumstances, would drive the wife to commit suicide."
Writing the judgment for the bench, Justice Radhakrishnan said to charge a husband for abetment of suicide, the prosecution must establish that the wife's suicide was a direct result of the extra-marital affair.
"Prosecution has to establish beyond reasonable doubt that the deceased committed suicide and the accused abetted the commission of suicide.
But for the alleged extra-marital relationship, which if proved, could be illegal and immoral, nothing has been brought out by the prosecution to show that the accused had provoked, incited or induced the wife to commit suicide," the court said.
"We have on facts found that, at best, the relationship of the husband and the other woman was a one-sided love affair. The accused might have developed some liking towardsthe other woman, his colleague, but all the same, the facts disclose that the husband had discharged his marital obligations towards the deceased. There is no evidence of physical or mental torture demanding dowry," the court said.
Referring to the wife's suicide note, the bench said, "On reading the suicide note, one can infer that the deceased was so possessive of her husband, and was always under emotional stress that she might lose her husband.
Too much of possessiveness could also lead to serious emotional stress, over and above the fact that she had one abortion and her daughter died after few days of birth."

Police in Narayi, Kaduna, have rescued from death two middle aged men alleged to have been engaged in sodomy with some male teenagers.

An eyewitness told Channels Television that one of the suspects, Coach Tracy, in order to carry out the act, approached the teenagers under the guise of establishing a local football academy. However, he was caught last week when his neighbors found out he was sleeping with the boys he was coaching. Another eyewitness said the two men were intimidating the boys before sleeping with them.
Angry with the ploy used to deceive the teenagers, the local residents, dragged the suspects out and beat them up till the police arrived at the scene. They continued beating the duo until gunshots were fired by the police to disperse the irate crowd.
The suspects have now been taken into police custody and will soon be brought to court.

A teacher who was caught having an affair with 17-year-old pupil is now living with him in her marital home, two months after being placed on the sex offenders’ register.
27-year-old Eppie Sprung Dawson lost her job and her marriage after being discovered half-naked with teenager Matthew Robinson.
She narrowly escaped a prison sentence and is now working as a bartender
But she has moved the boy she was caught with into her house, to the distress of his parents who are appealing to him to come home.
Matthew, now 18, left his parents’ house last week after a fight with his mother over failing to tidy his room. He is now living with his former teacher and they fear he may not return.
According to his mother, after the fight, he called Eppie to come and pick him up.
‘We don’t know what she is after and what is in her mind. I think the whole family are still in shock. You send your child to school and you expect them to to be safe.
'She is a sex offender - she has abused her power and her position to gain the trust of a child and to do this. Given he was 17 when this happened, she should have gone to jail.’
The young teacher’s affair was exposed when they were caught together in her car following a school dance last December.
The pair were half-naked when police knocked on the window and she pleaded guilty to segxwal activity with a person under 18 while she was in a position of trust and his teacher.
Sprung Dawson escaped being jailed at the court case in July but was ordered to sign the sex offenders’ register for six months.
She lost her job at St Joseph’s College in Dumfries and separated from her husband of two years, Ranald Dawson, also a teacher and the son of former Solicitor General for Scotland Lord Dawson.
The pair have stayed in close contact and she has showered the youngster with expensive Xbox computer games and rugby tops.

President Goodluck Jonathan had his official visit to Kenya last week, September 5-7, 2013.
The program for the visit was very intense, included meetings with Nigerians living in Kenya, with Kenyan ministers, and the President, Uhuru Kenyatta. The results of the visit were described as very successful as President Jonathan signed several bilateral agreements, and also became the first foreign head of state to address the country’s parliament.
The bright picture is spoiled by an ugly incident, when the Governor of Nairobi allegedly slapped a female representative of a workers union.
Evans Kidero, the Governor of Nairobi, had just finished meeting with President Goodluck Jonathan, when he reportedly assaulted the woman in question.
According to reports, the woman, Rachael Shebesh was at the forefront of a protest by Nairobi City County workers who were demanding for better pay. They met the governor and it was while making their demands that Gov. Kidero slapped Shebesh.

A 22-year-old cashier, Mariam Salifu was sentenced to 14 years in prison for stealing N3.15 million belonging to her employers. The decision has been announced by an Abuja Magistrate Court, on September 9, 2013, Monday.
Mariam Salifu, residing at Karimo in the FCT, was arraigned on a two-count charge of criminal breach of trust and theft. The convict had earlier admitted to absconding with the money.
Mr. Phillip Appolos Earlier, from the side of the prosecution, had previously told the court that one Christopher Nwozor of Life Camp, Abuja, reported the matter at the Life Camp Police Station on August 19.
He said that the accused, who is a cashier at C.C. Royal Fishing, was told to deposit N3.15 million into the company’s account in Diamond Bank at Wuse Zone 2.
The police prosecutor also added that the accused absconded with the money on August 17, to an unknown destination, instead of depositing it.
The convict was subsequently, arrested in Lokoja, following police investigation.
Hajiya Fati Tafida, the Magistrate, sentenced Salifu without an option to pay fine. She ordered that the convict be imprisoned at the Federal Prisons, Suleja, for 14 years to serve as deterrent to others.

About three months ago operatives of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, NSCDC, in Enugu State, raided Moonlight Maternity Clinic, where babies from unwanted pregnancies were sold. The operation resulted in the arrest of the clinic’s proprietor and a nurse. It was possible to gather some new details on the illegal baby factory, which are presented in this article.
Moonlight Maternity Clinic occupies a small, dimly lit building with concrete floors tucked between commercial shops in the southeastern city of Enugu. The places like this usually parade as private medical clinics, which house pregnant women and offer their children for sale. In some cases, young women have allegedly been held against their will and raped, with their newborns sold on the black market.
In the case of Moonlight Clinic, mostly unmarried women with unplanned pregnancies arrived there voluntarily or through persuasion.
Their newborns were then sold for several thousand dollars, with boys fetching higher prices. The mother rewarded roughly $200 (N32,700).
Typical was 29-year-old patient of the clinic, Ebere Onwuchekwa, who became emotional when asked about the sale of her son Prosper.
Speaking at the office of a child rights NGO, she said the father demanded she get an abortion, and she refused. Onwuchekwa’s her mother ultimately brought in a “midwife”, who delivered the baby then sold him for about $1,500 (N245,600).
“She took him away... He was a day old,” said Onwuchekwa in tears.
After learning what happened, her uncles tracked Prosper down and got him back. The 18-month-old sat quietly on his mother's lap as she spoke.
When asked about the woman who sold her son, a resentful Onwuchekwa said “she doesn't want me to say anything about what happened”.
74-year-old proprietor of the clinic, Ben Akpudache, he is out on bail and his facility, which he insisted in a brief, tense encounter was a “registered maternity clinic”, resumed its operation. Akpudache stated he was just trying to “help people in need”.
Authorities said it was not been shut down because they were waiting for the courts to take action, though the NCDC spokesman insisted Akpudache would face justice, as human beings should not be sold like animals.
It would be recalled that when police stormed Akpudache's expansive, three-storey home in Ogui Eke village, roughly an hour outside Enugu, they found six pregnant young women. One of the women said she wanted to continue studying, not struggle as a single mother. Akpudache's offer to host her through the pregnancy then sell the newborn seemed a solution.
Therefore the story of this baby factory is not over. This illegal facility re-opened and continues to operate, as problems of child trafficking remain unsolved in our society.

Chinedu Epeagba, a Nollywood Location Manager based in Asaba is dead. Chinedu who is popularly known as Dabebe was first rumoured to have died mysteriously. According to popular gossip which made rounds,  they said Dabebe’s death was caused by village ‘remotely control’.

The story asserted that his kinsmen from Mbaise; his home town did not want him to succeed in life…so they killed him using diabolical means.

Thankfully, Nollywood comic actor, Ugezu J. Ugezu has thrown more light into Dabebe’s cause of death. Ugezu said: “Our preliminary investigation, backed with scientific presentations from the last doctor that treated him in Onitsha, shows that Dabebe died from complications triggered by the made in China SLIMMING TEA, which he started drinking in July.


This tea, medicine or whatever, gradually destroyed all his internal organs and by the time he became too weak and got rushed to the hospital, his body couldn’t respond to treatment; organs were ruined already. The sad news is that Dabebe, that promising young man, is dead.”
